I've been coming to this salon for years when I visit my parents, and unfortunately my most recent…read morevisit was a huge disappointment. I went in on New Year's Eve with my mom, and we spent around $240 total for both of our services. I personally got gel extensions, and within one day, my nail started lifting and came off. Over the next few days, multiple nails completely popped off, including my thumb -- while I was on vacation and not doing anything rough on my hands. I don't pick at my nails, I wasn't cleaning, and I normally get gel extensions that last 3+ weeks, so this was very unusual. I reached out immediately and sent photos. Customer service offered 50% off my next visit, even though I clearly explained that I live out of state and only come back about once a year. I asked if a partial refund was possible given the situation and the cost, and after that, they stopped responding entirely. What's most frustrating is that after looking at Yelp, I see many recent reviews describing the exact same issue -- gel nails lifting or falling off the next day, paired with very high prices. I'm disappointed because I used to trust this place, but between the quality issues, pricing, and lack of follow-through, I won't be returning.

The results for this nail salon usually look pretty good! The price is low and they typically are…read morebusy. It has a dated look and air circulation could be better. The workers do not say too much. The issue is the cleanliness of the tools used. They bring them out in "sterile" packaging which is already open because it was never sealed in the first place. From the looks of it, they just continuously reuse this type of package to make it look like the equipment was sterilized. The equipment should be in completely sealed peel pouches that need to be peeled open and are one time use. Hopefully they will be able to address this safety concern before anyone gets an infection.

I saw the rave reviews for Flamant Nail Boutique downtown, but didn't want to make the trip...and then noticed they opened a Wilmete location. Lucky me! I booked one of their 90 minute pedicures for a Sunday and was immediately in love when I walked thru the door. The salon is gorgeous and just screams "girls night out" so I'll just have to come back with all my girlfriends soon. I sat in one of their gorgeous pedicure chairs and was ready to get pampered and they even offered my champagne. I actually get quite bored getting my nails done, but I brought my computer and the time flew by. It was also super relaxing and one of the best pedicures I"ve had in a long time. At $105 it was also one of the more expensive pedicures, but well worth it because my feet now look super pretty and feel super soft. Before leaving I must have texted at least 5 friends to tell them they have to check this place out. All admitted good pedicures in the North Shore are hard to find so super excited Flamant opened a location in Wilmette!

I was in FL and had to go to a salon there for a no chip mani. Terrible! BTW: like the last reviewer, I see negative reviews on this site, but they are old and from when the salon was owned by someone else. Give this place a chance - you will be glad you did.

Two out of three techs that did my nails were very lovely and detailed with their work. While I never brought any kids with me, they often had children come in and the techs were very patient and sweet with them. I feel obligated to report that I did get an infection on my nail cuticle shortly after a manicure here. I've been getting gel manicures for over a decade now and have never had an issue. I noticed the barbicide that the tools were being pulled from had an unsettling amount of other people's skin sediment in it. Am I a nail tech? No. Therefore, I'm not an expert at nail salon sanitation procedures. However, I've since been diagnosed with paronychia and it's taken over a month to heal. Everyone's skin and subsequent reactions are different. Coincidences are possible, but I felt the need to be honest--as reports of infection are pretty much the primary thing that I look for when choosing my nail salon. I'm hoping that this was a one time mistake and this review can be used for improvements going forward. This review was written with the intention of being fair and honest, I wish nothing but the best for the staff and hope their business continues to do well.

I started coming here 6 months ago and I haven't stopped! It took me a long time to leave a review…read morebecause I usually like to stop by a nail shop place a few times before judging it :P First off, I love that I don't have to call in. I can always message them via text and I usually get a response in less than 15 mins for an appt. I haven't had a problem in getting an appt day of; sometimes for the same hour! Second, I don't have a preference in the technician, and I think I was serviced by all of them at least once. All of them are great! Some are faster than others and those that are slower are because they want to make sure they get your nails done perfectly. If you are in a hurry, let them know. My review is solely on the dipped mani and regular pedi because that's the only thing I ever get. I love that they have a huge selection of colors and that they have a 14 day policy on pedi and 12 days on dipped mani. And for real people, they do last that long. On the cases that it doesn't (which happens occasionally), you can come in and get it serviced for free. Make sure you write down the color number at the end of your appt. For the pedi, I love that they have a filling out card that asks you what kind of lotion and scrub you would like. They have quite a selection and all of them are great! My favorite are the lavender, rose and mango. The regular pedi without any add ons are $28. Dipped mani is $40 and on Mon-Wed it is $35 with cash. I think this is a great deal! They also have an electronic punch card reward system (all logged by your phone number) and I've always been able to get a 10% discount. The store also has its own private parking lot and shark tank or chopped always playing in the background. If tv is not your thing, the store also has its own private mini library. I'm a regular now and I don't regret it one bit. They are open literally EVERY SINGLE DAY of the year. New Years, Christmas... you name it. Oh yeah, as always, don't forget to bring your tip in cash!

THIS IS HOW THEY WERE GOING TO SEND ME HOME IF I DIDNT SPEAK UP FOR MYSELF. These people are lucky I didn't call the cops yesterday and report their shop to the Lake County Health Department. These people wanted 135$+ for this hack job. I was still willing to pay full price until they called me names and acted rude. I didn't even raise my voice at them at all. They treated me as if I was trying to haggle the price down for telling them the truth. THE LADY WHO DID MY PEDICURE ROUNDED OUT ALL MY TOE NAILS. EACH TOE NAIL IS A DIFFERENT SIZE AND SHAPE. MY ACRYLIC NAILS ARE ALL DIFFERENT SHAPES AND SIZES. SHE SLOPPILY LET ACRYLIC DIP GET ON MY SKIN WITHOUT REMOVING IT, THIS GAVE ME DERMATITIS! Their stationary supplies aren't clean either. I didn't get what I wanted at all. I asked for chrome and they didn't have proper chrome powder or polish, yet argued with me that it was chrome. They were going to send me home with nail acrylic on my skin. They didn't even bother to remove it. If I didn't say anything they would've sent me home debauched. I payed them out of pity and simply not wasting my time arguing.. I got a last minute appointment around 2:00. The minute I walked in I felt hostility. It was not busy at all (figures). They both started doing my nails at the same time. The girl doing my acrylics was HOVERING OVER ME STANDING with no table or anything doing my hands. It was unprofessional, sloppy, and it felt rushed. She was standing up rushing through my nails. I got a mani pedi done with an acrylic full set in less than 1 hour. That's how badly they rushed for some odd reason. I called before coming, mind you. Nobody was in line either, the nail shop was dead. They had no reason to rush a mani pedi + full set of acrylics in 45-50 minutes. That's impossible for a good set. This was the weirdest shop I've ever been to in my life. I've never been to a nail shop and had such a negative experience until I came to Northbrook. Every single nail shop around here sucks. I never have issues when I'm in Chicago.
