I started coming here 6 months ago and I haven't stopped! It took me a long time to leave a review…read morebecause I usually like to stop by a nail shop place a few times before judging it :P First off, I love that I don't have to call in. I can always message them via text and I usually get a response in less than 15 mins for an appt. I haven't had a problem in getting an appt day of; sometimes for the same hour! Second, I don't have a preference in the technician, and I think I was serviced by all of them at least once. All of them are great! Some are faster than others and those that are slower are because they want to make sure they get your nails done perfectly. If you are in a hurry, let them know. My review is solely on the dipped mani and regular pedi because that's the only thing I ever get. I love that they have a huge selection of colors and that they have a 14 day policy on pedi and 12 days on dipped mani. And for real people, they do last that long. On the cases that it doesn't (which happens occasionally), you can come in and get it serviced for free. Make sure you write down the color number at the end of your appt. For the pedi, I love that they have a filling out card that asks you what kind of lotion and scrub you would like. They have quite a selection and all of them are great! My favorite are the lavender, rose and mango. The regular pedi without any add ons are $28. Dipped mani is $40 and on Mon-Wed it is $35 with cash. I think this is a great deal! They also have an electronic punch card reward system (all logged by your phone number) and I've always been able to get a 10% discount. The store also has its own private parking lot and shark tank or chopped always playing in the background. If tv is not your thing, the store also has its own private mini library. I'm a regular now and I don't regret it one bit. They are open literally EVERY SINGLE DAY of the year. New Years, Christmas... you name it. Oh yeah, as always, don't forget to bring your tip in cash!

THIS PLACE GAVE ME CONTACT DERMATITIS FROM LETTING ACRYLIC DIP DRY ON MY SKIN AND USE DIRTY TOOLS…read more LOOK AT THESE PHOTOS. THIS IS HOW THEY WERE GOING TO SEND ME HOME IF I DIDNT SPEAK UP FOR MYSELF. These people are lucky I didn't call the cops yesterday and report their shop to the Lake County Health Department. These people wanted 135$+ for this hack job. I was still willing to pay full price until they called me names and acted rude. I didn't even raise my voice at them at all. They treated me as if I was trying to haggle the price down for telling them the truth. THE LADY WHO DID MY PEDICURE ROUNDED OUT ALL MY TOE NAILS. EACH TOE NAIL IS A DIFFERENT SIZE AND SHAPE. MY ACRYLIC NAILS ARE ALL DIFFERENT SHAPES AND SIZES. SHE SLOPPILY LET ACRYLIC DIP GET ON MY SKIN WITHOUT REMOVING IT, THIS GAVE ME DERMATITIS! Their stationary supplies aren't clean either. I didn't get what I wanted at all. I asked for chrome and they didn't have proper chrome powder or polish, yet argued with me that it was chrome. They were going to send me home with nail acrylic on my skin. They didn't even bother to remove it. If I didn't say anything they would've sent me home debauched. I payed them out of pity and simply not wasting my time arguing.. I got a last minute appointment around 2:00. The minute I walked in I felt hostility. It was not busy at all (figures). They both started doing my nails at the same time. The girl doing my acrylics was HOVERING OVER ME STANDING with no table or anything doing my hands. It was unprofessional, sloppy, and it felt rushed. She was standing up rushing through my nails. I got a mani pedi done with an acrylic full set in less than 1 hour. That's how badly they rushed for some odd reason. I called before coming, mind you. Nobody was in line either, the nail shop was dead. They had no reason to rush a mani pedi + full set of acrylics in 45-50 minutes. That's impossible for a good set. This was the weirdest shop I've ever been to in my life. I've never been to a nail shop and had such a negative experience until I came to Northbrook. Every single nail shop around here sucks. I never have issues when I'm in Chicago.

The DDmani 2025 tour continues. Is this how roadies feel, when the band goes to venue after venue…read moreand it starts to blend together? I'll post my reviews right after the manicure so that the details are fresh in my mind. This was one of the pricier salons on my pursuit of the Dazzle Dry manicure. Mind you, it was not the $70+ from the Canyon Ranch at The Palazzo, but it was $38 plus tip, which is on the upper side of the range, considering I've been doing this weekly. The Lacquer Lounge is bright and spacious, with lots of tables and pedicure stations. I sat facing the windows and could watch the passersby in this busy Willow Festival shopping center. They didn't have a large selection of DD colors, and Hannah had to keep shaking the bottle and at one point she went to warm up the bottle? thin out the polish? because the texture was getting thick. Still, she did a nice job with the cuticles and hand massage and the color looks great. The other nail technicians had on cute pink uniforms although she did not. The salon was relaxing and was clean and I liked that every station had cleaner and the tables, chairs and furniture were well-cared for. The salon was busier than the other ones I've gone to recently.

The person on the phone was courteous, but the staff at the salon were strangely rude and unwelcoming. Getting your nails done should be a relaxing, pleasant experience especially when you're paying a premium price. I rarely complain about service, but this place was an anomaly. Even the clients were glaring at each other rudely, including men staring at women inappropriately. With several other great nail salons in Northbrook, I'd recommend prospective clients go anywhere but here.

My never-ending quest for a nail salon brought me to Glenview, in The Glen area, to the Pixie Nail…read moreSpa suggested by Yelp Elite Tricia D. Now I am neither a cheerful mischievous sprite or a petite vivacious woman, but I found a lot to like about the Pixie Nail Spa. Foremost, I like the ability to book online. I like the hours of operation (9am-7pm most days, closed Sunday). I liked that street parking is available (plentiful in the evening when I was there, probably busy on weekends). The spa is bright and spacious, with a lot of manicure tables and pedicure stations. More to like: friendly staff, offers of beverages, quiet (on a week night). Sarah did a great job on my manicure, which still looked pretty fresh from almost 2 weeks ago (thanks Canyon Ranch!). I chose a neutral color and added Dazzle Dry (another thanks to CR). I much prefer this to a no-chip because there are NO drills involved, it dries quickly and it's vegan/gluten-free (not gonna eat it). I think I'll look for dazzle dry in all future manicures. I would like a greater variety of colors in the DD choices, and my manicure was pretty basic. TLDR? 4.5/5 stars
