I'm so disappointed by this recent experience! I wish I would've asked for Sanny after reading these reviews. I was just there a few days ago as a first time customer. I don't even know the name of the lady that did mine, but I will not return because of this negative experience. I received a gift card and was excited to try a local place! I can not believe the terrible filing and paint job done for my no chip manicure. I still have money left on my gift card but am so unhappy with the outcome, I don't care to even try them again! The nail polish was painted on my skin and cuticles, looks incredibly sloppy and messy and when I mentioned something at the end, she tried to file it down everywhere that was past the nail. read more

I cannot believe we are describing the same salon. I went to Van's w/my daughter based on all the great reviews. Wrong move! Based on the look of the shop - dirty - my daughter immediately cancelled her appointment. The staff was friendly but that's not enough! We don't want infections!! I decided to go ahead w/my manicure. I will not return. The instruments were just lying on the table - no wrapping - no guarantee they were sterilized. Yes, there is an autoclave in the back but were my tools just sterilized? Who knows? Cuticle removal was rough. Too severe and it hurt. Onto washing my hands: step to the back to a dirty sink w/old, and I mean old, nail brushes sitting in solution. How long have they sitting there? Not a good feeling. I am looking for a nail salon that takes sterilization seriously. I feel it's the most important part of the process. If you're sterilizing properly one would think it would follow your shop would be clean. We're coming into your 'space'. Please keep it clean!! I would not recommend Van's Nails. read more

I have been going to Van's Nails for many years to get a pedicure. I finally decided to try manicures also, I had been going somewhere else and thought it would be easier to do both at the same salon. I absolutely love the way Sanny does my manicures. She does nail dip and it is amazing! So much stronger than acrylic. I highly recommend Sanny and Van's Nails to anybody. Sanny is very nice and personable and easy to talk to. Sanny is the best manicurist I have ever had! She makes the whole experience fun, comfortable, and all about you! She was recommended to me by two different co-workers and I am so glad I listened to their recommendations! I will never go anywhere else. The actual nail salon is very clean and tidy, there is a great selection of colors as well! Just a side note: the salon works by appointment only, which is great because you never have walk-in's staring you down waiting for you to get out of the chair. Horrible. Just got my nails done an hour ago and they look like they were done a week ago. The gel is not filed down smoothly and the polish either has bubbles or has little fuzzies stuck in it. Also, the gel is stuck to my skin rather than the nail. I will never go back, not even to have them fix it read more

MP C. I can't imagine how you could write such a horrible review. I love this place and I'm quite picky about the tools being sterilized. Your review shocked me and actually made me very angry. Ive been going to Van's for a few years and I have only the greatest things to say about it. The tools have always been sterilized and the sink and the area around it is super clean. Sanny does my pedicures and she is very careful about trimming my cuticles. I could go on and on about how happy I am to have found Sanny and Van's but I will say this MP C...you must've been having a very bad day! Or else you were not at Van's. read more

I love this place! Have been going here since they opened. Have tried a couple other places but nothing compares. My nails are always fabulous and they last longer then any other place! They have great specials Monday-Wednesday. You can walk-in but it might be better to call and make an appointment. Every employee does a great job, so it doesn't matter who you get. They can do regular mani and pedi or the 2 week no chip. Trust me they are awesome. I don't live in Glenview but I drive here to get my nails done. read more

Sanny is fantastic at what she does with a pedicure. I've been going there for years. She fixed my bad in-grown toenails, and I no longer have pain when wearing closed toe shoes. There is a HUGE selection of colors, and she is wonderful at making time for me, even on short notice. Her uncle also does a nice job with my feet. I recommend her to people all the time. read more

"MP C" you must be thinking of a different salon or maybe you have OCD and nothing looks clean to you. I've been coming to Van's nails for several years. I can't imagine why anyone would be unhappy. The staff is friendly and efficient. The tools are cleaned after each customer. There are many polishes from which to choose. The pedicure chairs are comfortable and have massage options. My wife has been going to Sanny/Mike for years and raves about Van's Nails. I am a runner and have typical runner's feet (translation = not good). I needed a pedicure, so Sanny agreed to see me on a Sunday at 4:00. All I can is "WOW!" First, on the inside the salon is CLEAN. Most importantly, Sanny did such a great job. She took her time and made my feet look like new again (once again, not easy). I have been to other places, from strip mall walk-in nail salons to high end spas/salons, and none of them were as good as Sanny. I'll be seeing Sanny every month from now on. read more

I came here for a no-chip manicure a few weeks ago after a friend recommended it. Sanny was great..very friendly and thorough. I had a cut on my finger near my cuticle, and she was very careful to trim my cuticles without irritating the cut. Aside from new nail growth, the polish still looks like new almost three weeks later! I will definitely be back. read more
