I've been coming to this salon for a while now, regularly getting services and even buying gift cards -- I've seen Henry multiple times and he's great, always professional and consistent. Unfortunately, my most recent experience with another technician (Vicky) was extremely disappointing. During my manicure, three nails on both hands were cut so aggressively that they bled. Within a day, two nails chipped, and the others started lifting from the base just a few days later -- they looked like they were two weeks outgrown after only four days. I called to express my concern, and the receptionist was very sweet and said they'd repair them free of charge. When I came in, however, Vicky denied responsibility, and then someone I believe was the manager told me I'd need to pay to have them redone. I work in customer service myself, so I don't take writing negative reviews lightly. But I had to hire a sitter twice, go out of my way to come back in, and now I'm leaving for vacation with nails that look terrible and were painful from day one. It's really disappointing to feel dismissed after being a loyal customer -- I won't be returning. read more

I love to do my nails here, Bobby and Tammy are the best, perhaps you have to check the real schedule, since they made appointments for you at 9 and they open until 10am. Nails technicians are always sleeping on the back in front of costumers, what made me very uncomfortable, and I don't think is appropriate, they should have their own lounge space. I just came here for a dip manicure. Upon arrival for my appointment, I was told to pick a color. Then they started the process. The guy who was doing my nails just seemed distracted the whole time and was very rough with my nails especially my cuticles to the point where they are bleeding. I even told him to be more gentle to which he said okay but just kept doing what he was doing. The color that I picked for my nails is completely different then the color that was put on my nails. When I brought this up to both the guy who did my nails and also the lady who rang me up at the end, I was told that I had picked a gel color but wanted dip. To which I say, okay then tell me to pick a different color which is dip. Take the 30 seconds it takes to show me which colors are for dip colors. I picked a color from a table which I was directed to when I came in. Nobody told me which were dip vs no chip colors. I would have happily picked a dip color instead had they told me that. Instead, I now have nails I didn't want with bleeding cuticles. Beyond frustrating. read more

Best pedicure I've ever had! When I came in, they were able to take care of me right away even though I had no appointment. Kevin was polite, professional, thorough, and great at his job. He went above and beyond to give an excellent service. I also got an acrylic set from Jonny that was very good. The facility is updated, clean, and relaxing, and I would definitely consider it a luxury nail salon. I visit other salons of this size in the area regularly for acrylic set and gel pedicures and, although the price is comparable, the service was far superior. Mom got a dip manicure that started chipping not even 24 hours after it. What are y'all mixing your dip powder with to make it that low quality? Baby powder? Cornstarch? Flour? Because it's obvious you are mixing some sort of powder in the dip to make it last longer. The owner didn't want to make it gross and low quality like Norridge but at this point it's that if not worse just without the physical altercations. I don't want to have to stop going here but the quality is going down the drain and fast and don't want to get an infection or poisoned from them tampering with products. read more

I really do not write a negative review often, but this one is well deserved. Two of my daughters and I visited Venezia in Glenview on a recent Sunday. We arrived when they opened and asked for 3 pedicures. There were two people already started and the woman at the desk showed us to our chairs. As we began our initial soak, the other two woman got up, put their shoes on and left, angry. There was no one working other than the one woman. She assured us we would get started soon. We waited, soaking our feet in lukewarm water for almost 20 minutes. When we inquired, the employee told us we would get started soon. We arrived at 9:30am and by this time it was almost 10am. I had to be somewhere at 10:30am and was becoming concerned. Finally a few employees showed up and began our pedicures. Because I had somewhere to be, my service was rushed, painful and looked terrible in the end. A few hours after I left, the polish fell off of one of my toes. Both my daughters ended up with infections, one more severe than the other. She needed antibiotics. The quality of the service, in every aspect, was terrible. The customer service was atrocious. I spent almost 14 days trying to reach the owner. When I finally did, I asked for a refund and for the antibiotics to be paid for by Venezia. The owner was beyond rude. She said the infection did not come from my daughter's pedicure, but said she would pay for the antibiotics. I thought that strange, since she was adamant that it was not the fault of her nail salon. She refused to refund me for the 3 terrible pedicures. The owner told me I was being mean to her small business. I am confused by this statement. I was a paying customer, received terrible service and was treated poorly. All I was asking for was to be refunded for the visit. Asking her to do the right thing for a customer that was unhappy. I will never return to this salon and hope that others do not receive the same treatment that me and my 2 daughters received. There are so many great salons, why choose this one? They do not care about their customers or the services they provide. Support small businesses that care and do a great job. Hard work and kindness go a long way. read more

I was thrilled after my first visit. Beautiful salon, friendly professional technician, and perfectly manicured hands and feet. I was so happy with my visit I returned with my daughter in law yesterday. My 2nd visit was very unpleasant. Twice I had to tell the technician to stop as he was hurting me! Next, he tried to pull a piece of skin from my toe. This was the most painful pedicure I have ever had. One toe is still hurting. My experiences here have always been great!! My go to technician is Julie. Not only does she do great work, she is so considerate and welcoming to her customers. However, I have also had others do my nails when Julie wasn't available and they were all good. I also bring my mom who is in her 90's for pedicures. They have the right type of chairs for an older person to slide into without having to climb chairs, and they are very respectful of her age limitations. This used to be my favorite nail salon in the area but today I had the worst manicure ever. It took 1 1/2 hours for a manicure; Im not sure my technician had ever done this before. Had to show her a few times that she hadn't removed the polish fully. She "repaired " a nail that 3 hours later is on the verge of breaking. In the scheme of things, a manicure isn't life threatening but I'm so angry at this establishment for not ensuring a better service. I even mentioned it to the cashier with no reaction. Gorgeous nail salon, but honest oversized! Worst pedicure EVER! Honestly I wish I had stopped my nail tech during service and just walk out. Not sure if she even was licensed. I should have asked for proof! She cut my toe nails so badly that my nails are still in pain. It was such a fast, rushed job. No foot massage! I even commented on the lack of foot massage and she said "well I could upgrade if I want that!" Can you even???? I mean what did I pay for? I go for pedicures for relaxation and this was not that. Will definitely not be back unless they ask and show me proof of license and a free pedicure making up for the last one. I was so excited to come here yet was disappointed. I called the salon to let them know I was running about 5 minutes late. I arrived exactly then. Turns out the person I had an appointment with was with a client and was running 30 minutes late. I didn't have an extra 30 minutes so why didn't the person on the phone tell me that I wouldn't get my service until late? Even though I really didn't have the extra time I waited yet then realized they have the news on. The answer is no. Customers don't want to hear about violence and Covid when they come to the salon. We are there for an escape and to be pampered. My recommendation is to honor appointments for your clients. You know how long things will take and if you are running behind schedule contact your clients and let them know or if they call let them know at that time.
