You can tell this place cares about their clients. They are very personable and even thought it was my first time there, they still formed a relationship with me. The facial was great, the aesthetician was so attentive not just going through the steps, looking at my skin and adjusting accordingly. Would definitely go again for other services. read more

What a fabulous group of women! From the 100 questions I had, to the actual facial....all were phenomenal. I have tried other "places" for a facial and have been dissappointed. They were noisy, had bad smells, was not clean, did not steam, no extra hand warming or massage, no peaceful music. This is quite, professional, clean, calming and gentle. This will be my salon, and Dorota ( Dee) my esthetician ! These ladies are wonderful and I am glad I found them. read more

Love, love, LOVE this place.. They have two locations, one at Water Tower, and this one. I usually come to Old Orchard for parking ease, and every facial I get with Mimi is awesome. I' never had a facial before coming to Sisters, and was scared that it would be a bit painful. My experiences are the exact opposite: relaxing and soothing, I always almost fall asleep! As for the "receptionist," there's a few girls working at Old Orchard now, but I've encountered him at Water Tower recently. While it isn't exactly the norm to see a straight male in a spa/salon, I didn't see a problem with it. He was professional, courteous, and polite, as any good receptionist should be. 5 stars :) read more

Boy, was THIS a mistake... I strongly feel that anyone who likes this kind of waxing place doesn't know any better... I usually go to Beauty and Soul downtown for all my lady parts grooming needs but decided to spend the day with my best friend and go with her to HER place, Sisters. I was long over due (ew) and figured what the hell... First, the "receptionist" was a man, and, I believe, a straight man...oh, it matters and you know it! He was loud and kept talking. Then when waxers would come out of their appointments he would ask them how much to charge for the customer they just finished with and they would yell out the price as they walked around doing stuff. I find it tacky to announce how much a customer owes, particularly in front of all the other customers waiting... I went in. My 'girl' came in right after me. I had to just take my pants off and get my clothless bottom half ass up there while she stood and waited. Look, I'm certainly not a prude, after all, she WOULD be doing some work 'down there' but geez! Leticia at Beauty and Soul gives me thin cloth undies to put on and gives me a minute alone to get on the table... I tried to explain what I wanted but it's pretty obvious they have their system down. I'm thinking everyone gets the same wax here. She just slapped in on and ripped it off in such a quick, frantic manner it's a wonder my eye-lashes weren't ripped off! And it hurt more than my other place and the cloth strips left bits of lint all over me... I couldn't get all I wanted taken care of because it cost almost 3 times as much as my other place. Oh, and they only take cash or checks... 2 stars for being fast (if not TOO fast) and having appointment times last minute...then again, it's probably because they wax at lightening speed..! I will NEVER cheat on Leticia again... read more

Fantastic and gentle on all your delicate bits! I can't believe for as often as I check in here, I've neglected to give this salon a review. I have been a client for going on 5 years and they are the best. They have another location on Michigan Ave which I have also been to, and the services they provide are stellar! These ladies know what they're doing and they do it very well. The Brazilian which may instill fear in many is a breeze here, and after trying it here, I wouldn't go anyplace else! All of your bits and pieces are very well taken care of and the service they provide is professional, friendly and yes, gentle! Love these ladies, give them a try! Solid 4.5 stars, no matter who is servicing you. read more

I'm very picky about my Brazilian wax and the technique of the person doing it (I'm a licensed esthetician). Dee does my wax and she always does a good job, takes about 15 minutes for her to do mine. I am consistent with my wax, so I go every 4 weeks. I am always happy with my wax! read more

LOCATION: kinda hard to find since the location just says Old Orchard Center.. Walk down the pathway between Macys , Buffalo Wild Wings (opening January), and Potbellys into the mall. Then, right after you pass Lens Crafters (which is on the left) there's a little sign that says Service Collection Suite on the right side. Go through that door, down the stairs , and Sisters Salon is on your left! Clean, friendly, amazing!! Three words to explain my experience today. I used to get European facials from this one chain massage place for years and was totally missing out! Had a Sister's Signature Facial done here by Lucy today and it was awesome!! She started out assessing my skin and based on what needs to be done, they start doing their magic. Everything was totally hygienic here and clean. After extraction, she used this wand thing to kill germs on my face. This facial also comes with the best face and neck massage ever as well as arm massages which she put in a heated pouch! I had a lot of nastyness (zits, blackheads, whiteheads ) on my face so yes, the extractions hurt like a mother. [last facial was 8 months ago!] The best part is that although they suggested products for my skin, they ABSOLUTLEY DID NOT pressure me!!! They also gave me a sample of toner to use! I will definitely be coming back here in a few months! read more

Ok I've been going here since I was 18 and it's the real deal! Best Brazilian wax ever and yes I've strayed a few times for reasons of price or convenience and I end up coming back every time! They take their time and are very knowledgeable you can honestly tell they are superior in their craft! read more

If you want your girly parts cleaned up, this is the place to go. I've had Brazilians done before, but never a Sister's Brazilian until last month. Holy moly! The woman who did my wax job was in my stuff like a Nascar mechanic and I walked away with the best wax I've ever had in. my. life.! Usually, you have to go back every couple of weeks for a touch up. I have no idea what kind of wax they use, but my wax lasted for at last 1.5 months. Of course, snatching hair with hot wax is painful, but the technique they use reduces the pain associated with waxing. Once you find this little gem in the crevices of Old Orchard, you will thank me and every other Yelper for letting you in on waxing best kept secret. It's clean, they are quick and they take credit cards. This is the ONLY place I will go to for waxes for now on! read more

Hidden gem, would give 6 stars if I could. Highly recommend after being to a few salons in the area, won't be going anywhere else. My experience was very comfortable, the salon was very clean and felt like I was being taken care of by professionals. Dee was amazing and I will definitely be coming back. read more

Today was my first waxing experience at Sisters Salon and it was great. I was a few min early to my apt and I was taken in immediately. Lucy did my eyebrows and she did a wonderful job. She took her time and did exactly what I said I wanted. I will be back and would recommend this salon. read more

Sister's Salon - Monthly specials for February at Sisters Salon - Skin Care Near Me - Skokie, Illinois

Fantastic. I've been waxing for 20 years and can assure you they know what they are doing here when it comes to waxing. Clean, efficient and every hair was gone. Brazilian was painless ( really!!) and customized. Came here at 6pm and they in no way rushed me even though I didn't leave until 5 minutes after closing time. Highly recommend. read more

Lucy is FANtastic. I've been waxed at many nail salons and it's never been a clean wax. But Lucy....oh Lucy, she got every stinking hair and plucked the ones that didn't come up with the wax. I'm tellin ya, it's a little more than what you'd pay at a nail salon, but it's worth it for sure. read more

on Sisters waxing place! First time customer that will definitely return. Clean, professional, closeby, and quick. Dee was really good and gave me exactly what I asked for. Only small complaint. The rooms are very close to the Libby and everything can be heard by customers in the lobby. So if you're modest ask for a room around the corner down the hall. read more

FINALLY I found a place that can do my eyebrows nice every time I go in. They are always consistent with shaping my eyebrows. I've already sent a handful of girls there, who thanked me the other day because their eyebrows look so nice. The place is welcoming and clean as well. You can't go wrong if you wanna fix your eyebrows!!! read more

Had an exfoliating message with Sarah, and all I can say is AMAZING! I I walked out feeling relaxed, refreshed and invigorated at the same time! I've also had many waxes done at Sisters and they do a wonderful job EVERY TIME. The staff is professional and courteous, and my next visit will be at the downtown location! read more

The entire deep pore/acne facial process was great, the esthetician was very informative and took her time with me. Unfortunately, she did not seem to extract everything which was disappointing considering it was very pricey. Probably wont return. read more

FABULOUS! I first went on the recommendation of two different friends and I am glad that I did! From the reception to the technician, everyone is professional and courteous. I felt comfortable at all times and the waxing was done in a respectful manner. In addition, no red bumps or bad reactions ever! Do not go anywhere else! Sisters is the best! read more

Hello everyone, I wanted to write this review to let you know that I have been going to Sisters Saloon in Old Orchid (Skokie) for my facial and I love the facial treatment done by Anu. She is expert and very professional at her work and really amazing. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to get a good fiacial. Thanks so much. Best Regards, S. Umer read more

This is my absolutely my go-to place for several years now. I get both facials and waxing done here. Wouldn't go anywhere else..If you want virtually painless waxing, this is it! Also, the facials here are so amazing! I have acne-prone skin and a monthly facial with Dee keeps my skin glowing. I love this place and they really take care of their clientele. Giselle and Rita always accommodate my needs. I love that I can get both things done at the same place:) read more

Still LOVE this place and now I love it even more! They have added massages to their services!! So now I can go get my quick brazilian and reward myself with a relaxing massage :) Although I prefer deep tissue massages and Sarah does an amazing job relieving my aches and pains. Thanks to the friendly receptionists, I've managed to make time to get a massage every other week now that she's there! Oh I almost forgot! Sarah helps out with the massage portion of the facials as well if she's available; great bonus :) That's how I met her the first time and I was hooked! read more

The staff was friendly and professional from the start. As a new customer, they welcomed me and made me feel comfortable from the moment I stepped in the salon. The receptionist as well as the esthetician were very funny and cracked jokes to decrease my anxiety the whole time! It definitely worked! I left smiling and thinking what was I scared about again?! All I can say is I will definitely come back again and will refer this place to any first timers! read more

This place is EXCEPTIONAL! Regardless of service....Facials, Waxing...and anything in between...they do a stellar job! Elaine and Jeannette are of course " THE SISTERS"...and their skill, talent, and commitment to each and every client getting the absolute best possible experience each and every time is something you just can't match and won't find anywhere else! Having been a long time client...I have to say these two are my 'go to' girls for services. Elaine for 'Best wax anywhere on planet' and Jeannette for 'Outstanging, personally customized Facials' and a great wax! Still...I too have occasionally been to other girls there and as previous reviews cite...EVERYONE is great. The thing is Elaine and Jeannette personally train everyone in their employ with all the same state of the art techniques that they both developed and use---so really clients are assured of an absolutely satisfying and pleasing experience, with whomever serves you. On a completely separate (and extremely important) note...the environment is the cleanest...'pristine'...reflecting their philosophy and commitment in and out of the workplace. Both Sisters, brother George (Manager) and their beautiful families---(Jeannette is 'Mama' to the up and coming next generation of 'Sisters'...Giselle and Evonne who also happen to do a wonderful job)--all are dedicated to ensuring the highest quality of service and beauty experience for each person that walks through their doors. Beyond their high quality care, customer service and skill, these 'Sisters' are two of the hardest working, faith-filled, dynamic women you could possibly meet. Theirs is truly one of the most deeply touching and inspirational stories of what is possible when you combine the greatest of faith with the highest possible work ethic and then treat every person with respect, dignity and as if they are your only and best customer. They have two locations: 1. Water Tower Place-- Downtown Chicago, 845 N Michigan Ave #964W · (312) 943-8800 2. Beauty Salon · Westfield Old Orchard 4999 Old Orchard Rd · (847) 673-1120 Kudo's to all at Sisters Salon! Try them....for all the reasons listed in prior reviews....you just won't find a better, cleaner, more top shelf place in the World. read more

I recently visited Sisters for some waxing and it was great. I loved the atmosphere and felt totally comfortable. Good vibe, personal service, and good prices. Definitely recommended!! read more

First off, I'd like to say that the technicians are lovely. They take their time and are very attentive. However, the management at the Old Orchard location is lacking. I've been going to Sister's at Old Orchard for a few years on an off and have spent at least a grand there. I've had waxings and facials done here. To be honest, I kept thinking it would get better and that the rudeness of the older women (I think she owns the location) would underscore the attention that her employees would give. For example, I was going into Sister's on a weekly basis for acne treatments. I was seeing a new hire to Sister's Old Orchard and I believe she was spending more time than the manager/owner thought necessary (she was excellent). While I am aware that there is a time limit, I had a bad reaction to the products (which they push on you) and the technician wanted to put an Oatmeal mask on my face, so I wouldn't have to walk through the mall with a red swollen face. The manager/owner actually came into the room and asked the technician to step outside, BUT she didn't say anything so I had no idea what was going on, only that someone else was in the room while I was covered up by a towel... very uncomfortable. Also, it's just overall cold treatment, it's defintaly not "spa treatment" for people they do not know (I am specifically referring to the front of the house). However, I have witnessed very warm treatment to others while in the waiting room. I bought a 500 gift certificate for services and they lost it, even though they insisted on keeping hold of it. And when I asked them, there was not an apology or a refund. I'd love to see the technicians again, but would not recommend this facility nor will I be returning. read more

Apparently having an appointment doesn't mean much here. I arrived for my appointment right on time after racing from work to get there by 5 pm. The receptionist assured me m technician would be right with me. 15 minutes later A woman comes in for her 5:30 appointment and they take her right away. It turns out there was another technician available the whole time I was waiting. I then asked the receptionist how much longer and after checking with my technician he tells me it will be another 10 minutes! I had a very tight schedule, which is why I made an appointment rather than walking in. But I guess someone else walked in or was very late so I got screwed. I had to leave without getting the wax. I'm leaving for a beach vacation tomorrow and now I'll have to shave. The worse part is that I've had better waxes and my daughters are always telling me I should go elsewhere but I stuck around out of loyalty?! read more

I have been coming to sisters for over 12 years. From bikinis to facials to an occasional home made treat for after, sisters salon knows how to treat their clients. Respect, dignity, cleanliness, perfection, you will never walk out feeling disappointed. I'm a busy mom to four young children, and even when I come in for a quick wax, I leave feeling rested and like a new person. Sisters salon has also helped me get over some major anxiety issues I had from life by performing relaxing facials with massages that let my mind wander and I felt like a new person after each treatment. They also made my skin glow with weekly facials for five weeks (before my brothers wedding that I was standing up in).....you will be glowing and knowing that you look good....this again is due to exceptional treatments as well as gained confidence just by coming here. I wish I could write a review each time I come here but all of my comments will turn into a novel :) I love sisters and appreciate them from the bottom of my heart. read more

I have been to both Sister's locations on and off for years. I enjoy going to the downtown location and have always had a positive experience. It is a no frills waxing salon that takes care of business. I am usually in and out and never have and "post-waxing" problem. I have heard that some of the ladies work at both locations so I thought it would be no problem going to the Old Orchard location because I was up there for work. I called and took an appointment not even asking who it was with. I was with someone I hadn't had before - I think her name is Anu - anyway, she was an incredibly nice woman who took her time but was really trying and made some nice conversation. All was ok, despite the length 35 minute appointment. I didn't even mind that she had to do a couple tries for many of the strips she was pulling off. HOWEVER, 6 hours later I am in INCREDIBLE pain. I am swollen and irritated, in fact walking hurts. Disgusting I know, but it must be said. I didn't mind it when I was there but coming home and being in this condition makes me want to never go back. I assume that if others have felt this way before that they would not be going back either. Ripping one strip three times to get it off or get at the right angle cannot be good. She needs to get a better angle and pull harder, the weak yanks aren't going to take anything off of this bod. I will go to my "B" Place, Trim because I am not sure i can handle this situation again. OUCH! read more
