She went above and beyond and never tried to sell me on anything. When I go back I'm going to get some more areas. My legs are smooth right after the treatment. Now, they are charging 1/10th the price of another company I quoted and I still really liked this place. She had the next client come in the waiting room 5 minutes before I was done. She gave me a warm towel to wipe off the remaining gel and then switched the sheets before I left for the next person. Let me start by saying that due to unfortunate genes, I had hair pretty much EVERYWHERE, including my back, chest, and abdomen. I saw Rupal about five years ago, and pre-paid for entire-body treatment where she would spend at least 3 hours lasering me head-to-toe. In total, I think I had about 6-9 sessions spanning over 1-2 years. I paid $3k in total, which was the best money I've ever spent. The hair is 90% gone on my arms, legs, back, and belly. However, I still have hair on my underarms, face, and neck, which I am going to another place to get treated. It didn't really work on the bikini line. Other than this, the other downfall is sometimes I would get burned by the laser, possibly because I wanted her to use a more powerful setting to get better results, and wouldn't stop her when I would start to feel pain. I would come home and use aloe vera and ice, and although occasionally it would leave a mark, it faded over time. However, don't expect a super pampering, spa-like experience. Rupal is the only one in the salon, which means she will be answering her phone while she is lasering you. While I thought this was unprofessional, I didn't say anything. But she should have given 100% attention to her client and hired someone to take the calls, or at least called them back later. But for the total I paid, it was worth it to me. read more

Disgusting, Unprofessional, Rude. Where do i start? If you read the previous reviews there is a theme of this place and that is uncleanliness. I got a groupon for this place and thought to give it a try. Im picky about spa treatments because when it comes to someone doing treatment on skin, its imperative that the spa and the technician are highly professional otherwise you're left with a lot of problems and ive heard way too many bad stories to not be picky. The Rupal woman was very rough and didnt seem professional. Absolutely no respect for customers time or concerns. She did not listen to my concern and embarrassed me. The room i was in had not been turned from the previous appointment. The blanket had wet stains on it. I put my stuff on the chair which had hair and dust on it. Then i noticed the floor which was also full of hair and dust. I was shocked that they would allow clients to come to a room in such unhygienic condition. I went along with my appointment and noticed there was no barrier on the laser. Arent they supposed to put a cover on it because i know looking at the condition of the place they did not clean it from previous customer. The walls had splatters on it which was so gross. The garbage can was open showing used wax sticks with, yes you guessed it, hair on it. In a tight closed space you happen to notice all this stuff around. Anyone know about cross contamination. There have been cases where people caught all kinds of skin infections, burns and other things after visiting spas. Hello Osha! Rupal, as she was doing the laser, she also complained about her clients in a discriminating way. Wow. She also answered her phone in the middle of my appointment holding the hot laser close to my sensitive areas and burned me. It was so painful, i had tears in my eyes. She absolutely had no regard for my time. She could have taken the phone outside the room or let someone leave a message. Then she kept going back and forth with the laser machine on my sensitive area very rough. That was the last straw for me. I was in tears after leaving this place. The vibe of this place is really weird. Seems like they wont pay for an assistant or extra help to answer the phones. So, all of you who happen to rave about this place i feel bad for you because know that your hair will be coming back in a year guaranteed! My experience felt incomplete I went for laser hair removal: the lobby was nice with a sent of jasmine in the air. The laser room was very cold and floor unclean. She asked me to undress which it was unpleasant in a cold room with no towel to step on. After she did the treatment she wiped the area with a warm towel and she said: you are all set. So firstly, I will admit I never write reviews despite having a Yelp account for a long time. But THIS PLACE... it's amazing. I went to a laser hair place before with little results which surprised me since I have pale skin and dark hair (the kind best suited for laser). It was expensive and I was about to give up and then I saw a LivingSocial for SILK which is just down the street. I figured I'd give laser one more shot and went ahead and bought the deal. The owner is incredibly accommodating. She will organize an appointment to fit your schedule and won't hesitate to fully answer and explain any questions you might have. She's super honest about the whole process and the machine that SILK uses. My first session was pleasant and comfortable. Over the course of the next week and a half my hairs seemed normal and then suddenly they were falling out left and right! It was amazing to see such REAL results. My dark hairs fell out and then were replaced by really thin hairs... almost invisible like peach fuzz. I bought the living social for 6 sessions but it seems like I'll probably be done in 3 or maybe 4. I plan on using the other sessions on other parts and will continue using this place for any other sessions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A QUALITY, FAIR HAIR REMOVAL PLACE. I can not stress enough how happy I am with silk. Even small hairs near my tattoo that she avoided the first time (cause it was too close) I asked her if there was any way she could get them the second time and she worked with me to make sure she got all the areas that I wanted. (I opted for the full Brazilian) We also talked about how unfair it was that at other places they kind of do just a once-over and then that takes like ten minutes and then you're done and see barely any results. The best and only place to do laser! Professional, on-time, and affordable. I've been going here for 2.5 years (because I keep adding areas for treatment). And it was the best investment. They have never been delayed, I'm in and out very quickly, and they are much cheaper than other laser spas. I had gone to a few different spas for consultations and quotes and this was significantly more affordable than the others. Also, I saw an insane reduction in hair growth and amazing results! I barely have anything to shave anymore. I found this place on Groupon and what was supposed to be 6 treatments of a large area (I chose lower legs) turned into an almost full body treatment lol. I love the results and I love Rupal! Rupal is delightful as well as professional. I am amazed by the results as I was skeptical about the outcome of laser for my not too dark and somewhat fine hair. I did my lower leg and after about 6 treatments there is almost no hair. In the winter I do not even bother to do anything with it at all. Right before summer I get a touch up treatment, although there are so few hairs I could probably pluck them! Her laser does not hurt like some do which made me more skeptical but the results are fantastic! Her prices are very reasonable and one way she keeps the price down is by not paying a receptionist. Another disappointment through a place I found on Groupon. My first visit was a few months ago. I arrived 10 minutes early. The door was locked and no one was there. There was a nice lady standing outside who worked at the salon next door. She informed me that the lady doesn't show up until moments before scheduled appointments. Well, I don't like that kind of service. You should always be there early to greet your client. Just as I was getting ready to leave, she finally showed up 2 minutes before my appointment. She also had someone else scheduled at the same time. Another no no. Fortunately, she was able to get me in and out and did a nice job. The waxing was painless. She said if I kept coming back to her, she would continue to only charge the Groupon rate. I decided to give her another try. The next time was better and more professional. Since this place was close to work, it was easy to go during my lunch or in the evening when I got off of work. I continued to go to her. Then came disappointment. I had to cancel my appointment due to inclement weather. There was ice on the ground and I do not drive on ice. I didn't go to work and certainly wasn't leaving to drive all the way to Glenview just to get waxed. Well, it was a problem for her that I called the day of and she starts telling me they have a 24hr cancellation policy. I said "so you don't know that things come up at the last minute. I didn't know yesterday that I would not be able to get out of my parking lot today." She told me "weather is not a good enough reason to call the day of." Lol. Soooo.....my parking lot is icy. I have to travel up a hill and can't do that and refuse to try. But she expected me to risk my life because of her policy. I told her I won't be back and she just lost a customer. Rupal is amazing! I was hesitant and searched high and low for where I should get my first laser appointments - I was so worried I would get burned or scarred! Once I finally decided on Silk, I bought all 6 appointment for brazilian laser right away since they were so affordable. I always book my appointments suuuper early (before the office is open) and Rupal is always there right on time - which is splendid. The first time I went, I got there like 15 minutes early just because most offices ask you to do that, and she wasn't even there - which to ME is awesome, because I hate how offices always ask you to get there 15 mins early and then you end up just waiting in the waiting room for 15 minutes anyway. With Rupal, I make appointments for 9am, show up literally at 8:59 and she's ready to go. No waiting rooms, no rushing. Every time I get there (even though my appointments are before normal open time) the music is playing very nice music and everything is perfectly set up. The laser removal is painless and effective - I noticed the difference in just 2 visits and it's getting better with every visit. At the end of the appointment, Rupal makes the next appointment right away. **A tip for people who have an issue with the 24 hour cancellation policy: As soon as u make the appt, put it in your calendar and set a reminder 2 days prior to the appt. When you get that reminder, you'll have 48 hours before the appointment so that's enough time for you to cancel if you think you'll need to. My Mom brought me to this place because of Groupon and I was hooked. The service and outcome are great, but I also keep going back because of how pleasant Rupil and MIla are! I am now doing full legs laser hair removal and let me tell you guys, I have dark thick hairs that are NOW GONE! I get to shave once between sessions and it isn't really needed. I am very excited to not have to spend that 15 extra minutes in the shower everyday! I also do my underarms, that I no longer shave after 4 sessions. I found this salon through Groupon for laser hair removal in June. Rupal, the owner and technician, said I don't have to purchase a Groupon and will honor the the price in the salon. No problem. I explained to her the facial area i wanted to receive treatments on. She said it'd be a "small area" of 6 sessions for $133 (normally $149). At my third session, i didn't see much hair reduction and showed Rupal the areas of concern. She drew lines on my face to map the area i "paid for". The tiny area she mapped didn't show much reduction and a few MILLIMETERS outside of her drawing was not covered. Talk about customer service. A few millimeters outside of her incorrect drawing would've been too much of a hassle for her to zap. My issue is, when i came in for my FIRST appointment i showed her my problem area on my face. She failed to give me a proper consultation and asses my area of treatment as "medium size". Instead she told me it would be a "small" area. Difference between the two sizes was roughly $60. That's paying $10 more each session to get laser on the accurate area, which is considered a medium size. If she nicely/professionally explained to me i paid for a "small area" but for $10-15 more per session she would gladly laser the additional areas of concern i would've agreed. But she started yelling and screaming that i'm trying to ask for more then what i paid, and she doesn't have authority to do it. Rupal, you are the OWNER, and have discretion to make business decisions to provide quality service. She refunded me $66 for the remainder of 3 sessions.
