I visited this place a few months ago and I've been there in the past several times. I received a 90 minute massage. The quality of the massage service itself was satisfactory. However, this time while checking out, as I was resolving the bill and adding a tip for the massage therapist, the manager said something foul and inappropriate in Chinese about another guest, and then proceeded to say something rude about me in Chinese right in front of my face, not knowing that I had lived in China for several years and am fluent in Chinese. I'm sorry to say this but she literally called another guest a "stupid pussy", or sha bi in Chinese, and then said something equally offensive to me in front of my face without knowing that I was fluent in the language. I would recommend that serious massage customers go anywhere else but this place as a result. The management and owners are obviously not respectful of their guests, and there is no excuse for such reprehensible rude behavior under any circumstances. There are many other options in the North Shore where you will be treated well and receive a wonderful massage, without the verbal abuse. read more

It's just what I need after a long flight or stressful meetings. I showed up at 1:10 for a 1:15 appointment, needed to use the restroom so the massage didn't start until 1:25 but the massage was over at 2:15 10 minutes less than an hour. I've never been to any other reflexology where I didn't get the full hour, even though I went to the bathroom. In all other reflexology experiences I've had a foot soak, but not at this facility. I don't think I'll be going back. Also many people quoted in their reviews having paid $40 for a 1 hour foot/head/body massage but I payed $60 on Mother's day. read more

Kathy has always been responsive when I reach out looking for a massage and I'd say 99% of my experiences have been top notch. From a basic foot massage (which comes with a few minutes on the head and back) to an intense 90 minute session with those hot stones, you will leave here better than when you came in. The BEST reflexology spa. I was turned into this place and experience by a colleague a few years ago and I'm hooked. I've tried a few other places since and nothing compares to this one. They not only made it through COVID with masks and safety modifications, they took the time to make some improvements to the already comfortable space by adding cabana curtains around the open beds so you can be in your own space or next to a friend on 2 beds in one space. I used to get a $130 physical massage at a spa once a month for 10 years and they were great but this experience is in some ways even better. My favorite is the one hour reflexology massage. You keep your clothes on (it's best to wear something that exposes your arms and legs). They lay you down face up first and start by soaking your feet in a bucket of warm water (amazing in the cold winter months!) while they start massaging your head and neck. Then your arms, then they take your feet out of the water and massage them for quite some time (this is the reflexology part). If you aren't fully relaxed by now, you may not be human. They do some light work on your legs and some stretching before you flip onto your stomach for a neck and shoulder and back massage. We typically leave feeling like noodles and so relaxed, driving home is a concerted effort. Other places have had odd smells, music that is too low or too loud, therapists that rip out your bones or apply too much force...etc. I've always had a great experience with all of the therapists here and feel they are well trained on the human anatomy and it's limits but feel free to ask them to modify. This one hour paradise is only $35! So tip we'll. I don't mind tipping an additional $15-20 dollars as I think it's well worth $55 for the experience. They have frequency cards to get a discount after 10 massages. They are open weekends and even late in the evenings, til 8 most days but I can always still get a same day appointment, just call! Please respect others and speak softly as it's still an open space. A gift card to this place is a perfect gift for anyone who likes massages. Add a bit for a tip! Next to the pizza place. read more

There are some unwritten rules that go along with this type of spa that some new customers might not realize. Here they are in case you're considering if this place is right for you. 1. It's important to whisper while there. You don't want to be that inconsiderate customer ruining everyone else's massage bliss. 2. There's almost no talking. This ISN'T a medical massage designed to treat your specific issues. Other than pointing to the price list, "softer please" or "harder please" there's really not much to say. 3. Let them do what they do. Their standard routines are perfect for me, no conversation necessary. If you want to dictate "who" massages you or "how" they massage you, you may wish to go elsewhere. 4. I don't know what else I can say. I had to leave work early due to terrible neck/shoulder pain with a migraine and I was in much needed of a massage. I called so many places and they were all booked out. I am glad I didn't give up. I found Melody spa on my search on Yelp and they did not disappoint. I got in an appointment within an hour and I was placed in a room right away. James took care of me and wow. He made it so relaxing and comfortable at the same time. If he was working on a sensitive area or using hot towel/stone, he made sure I was okay. His deep tissue technique was on point. I am pretty sensitive in certain areas and he pin pointed my issue spots right away. I am walking out after 90 minutes of pure satisfaction and without a migraine. I will most likely be back. I've been a massage therapist for over 20 years and get massages often. I don't think I've ever left a negative yelp review however I feel passionate about warning anyone considering going to this establishment. It was by far the worst foot massage experience I've ever had. There is no way the man that was massaging me had any kind of professional training. I asked for a 1hr "foot only" massage. A women started massaging my head while my feet were soaking, and then a male took over and tried to start stretching my neck and he had no clue what he was doing, I then said feet only but I don't know that he could understand, so I touched my feet, saying foot massage only. He then started to massage my legs, finally started massaging my feet and was extremely aggressive, I asked for Kathy, he got her and I asked her for another massage therapist as I didn't like his touch, she threw her hands up in the air and said - no other person, you can leave. I was there for 10mins, I originally booked a 1hr foot massage for $35, she wanted to charge me $25 for the 10mins I was there and I said that it was ridiculous, as it was the worst foot massage I've ever had - she then said - just leave - don't pay. I don't believe Kathy's massage therapist are professionally trained. Kathy was extremely rude as well and I can't imagine folks go back after having an experience there. Do yourself a favor and don't waist your time or money. I'm thankful I got out of there without being injured as well since they are extremely unskilled. read more

They were professional and had adequate Covid measures in place- took my temperature, hand sanitizer, spaced out beds, required use of face masks of customers and employees. The WORST experience I have ever had with a "supposed" massage & the rudest, owner, Kathy. The 5 star reviews on here are FAKE. I call at 10am on Saturday to make an appt. A woman answers after many rings, with just a weak "Hello". No name of the business. After I ask her to confirm business name 3 times, there is no response. She finally confirms"Melody Spa". I ask for an appt for a massage and foot massage. After 15 min of trying to get her to just answer basic questions of a massage and her sounding aloof, I kept giving Kathy benefit of the doubt. I asked her to perform my massage as I wanted a female and felt comfortable with her bc of 5 star reviews. She said "No, I hurt my back and cannot do it". I felt badly for her, so I believed her! I asked for a name of a female person who will be performing mine, so I can be prepared when going in. She said "No, I have to wait until I get there bc it just depends on who is avail". I go in for appt, but there is no name of it on the outside of building so its impossible to find & connected to a restaurant? Looks shady. I was late 15 minutes late trying to find this place, bc of IMPOSSIBLE parking. I called her to b considerate to say I couldn't find parking, but no answer. I walk in finally and nobody at reception. Men everywhere getting massages behind curtains by females. No women patrons anywhere. I was taken back to a room by a male who won't look at me nor introduce himself. I passed all the men getting massages by females so I thought mine would be by a female too, especially since I asked for one? Kathy pops head out and tells me its "80 dollars for a 90 min massage for both body and feet". She is working on a massage for another customer, a male. I thought she was hurt though, couldn't do massages? I give a 20th benefit of doubt this point. Male tells me to "take off everything- no clothes, lay down". I felt very uncomfy. I leave some of my undergarments on. Even the most professional places tell you to leave on anything if you want to. He comes in and starts massage and I stop him asking if I can have a female. He IGNORES me. I ask over and over again. I finally sat up and asked for Kathy. Kathy comes in finally & acts angry and yells "WHAT DO YOU WANT? I'M WITH CUSTOMER". Wow, this is just so bad! I asked her kindly and quietly for a female "I requested that on phone this morn. He is making me uncomfy as he won't answer my ?s and I don't know what to expect. How can I tell you my back hurts if nobody understands English?" I also asked (very quietly), why did you tell me you were hurt, and could not perform my massage, yet you are massaging a diff customer?" Kathy had a MELTDOWN right there as I'm sitting up unclothed on the massage table! She closed her eyes and her fists, pounded her feet and said "Ohhhh nooo, what do you want? I do your massage then? Ok, I will do massage then!" I very quietly said, "I don't feel comfy with this place, I will leave". She told me to "lie back down" and ASSURED me that "she would do my massage and just needed to change and be back in 2 sec. STAY, I will be back". I once again, believed the MILLIONTH lie she told. I laid back down feeling awful, hoping it would b better. I felt humiliated & embarrassed at her meltdown. I waited more. 10 more min passed. It is now 3:15 and I still haven't even started process. The male comes back, no comments, no information. No Kathy. He just starts the massage at 3:15. I shot up and asked for Kathy. No response again. As you can imagine, it just got WORSE. He locked the door in the middle of it! He did NOT massage my legs, my arms, my head nor my neck! He just touched my back softly for 30 min, then went to my feet and did that for 10 minutes. He then tapped my thighs at 4:05 and grunted. Left the room. I laid there waiting for the rest of my 1 hr and 30 min massage. He never came back. I was at this point very upset. I put on my clothes with awful oil over me and no way to get it off! I sat to put on my boots & tried talking to Kathy without acting angry. She too ignored me until she couldn't anymore. I kindly and calmly explained the time is now 4:10, Ive been waiting for an hour and a half massage that I never received. I explained quietly "I was disappointed and upset she never came back to do my and massage". She again threw a fit at the front desk "OH OK WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO? It's because you JUST DON'T LIKE CHINESE PEOPLE! JUST DON'T COME BACK HERE". I tried to so hard to explain to her that it has nothing to do with her race, she suddenly then says "I no speak English". Never in my life have I ever thought this could happen & then to turn it into a racism issue after I had horrific service. I seriously wanted to scream! I paid for an 80 dollar 1 hour and 30 min massage but received nothing. This place is a SCAM. Its an obvious MALE dominated client establishment. STAY AWAY! read more
