Visited here twice now and am considering coming every month. They take your relaxation seriously, and do work when it comes to getting in there and loosening those knots and tight spots. Not sure if it borders a deep tissue massage bc I've never had one, but they definitely aren't afraid to apply pressure and do well to make sure to turn you into complete jelly on the table. I am in bliss! Today I got the 30 min foot, 30 min back with added oil and hot stone massage. I've paid 2-3x as much for a luxury hotel resort massage experience, and I've gotta say, I came out 2-3x more relaxed out of this one. I'll take less frills and go here. Bc of covid, I've only ever been in the group room by myself, or my bf who came to get a massage last time I was here. Even so, they ensure that you are comfortable and have privacy. Pretty sure they would not have you completely de-robe if there are other strangers in the group room, but if that is something one would be uncomfortable with, I did notice that they have private rooms for individuals and couples. Anywho, a super relaxing massage experience, and the staff is super professional and courteous. For sure recommend! read more

I made a reservation for a 60-minute couples massage for my wife and myself. I confirmed the price while booking. The massages were well done, albeit a little painful at times, though not to the point of being intolerable, probably within general expectations. My big problem is this. Neither masseuse spoke much English and neither of us speaks Korean, Chinese, or whatever their language is. For no reason whatsoever, the masseuses decided that we had agreed to continue for a full 90 minutes. My wife didn't agree to this. I didn't agree to this. I was getting a massage and had no desire to watch the clock. I assumed, as was the case with every other massage I have had in my life, that this one would end at the agreed upon time. Ultimately, we walked out spending $70 more than we expected and I feel like this was the ultimate bait-and-switch sale. It's a shame that a business in downtown Evanston considers this the proper way to handle their customers. read more

So disappointed. Expected to get a hour foot massage, was given much more expensive deep tissue massage. I made an appointment online for an hour foot massage, when I arrived I was only asked "30 minutes or an hour" I assumed they knew I was coming and just said "hour." I was surprised to be taken to a room without footbaths...just figured that maybe they had changed things? Anyways, I don't enjoy deep tissue or heavy massages but I kept thinking while he was massaging "the foot part is coming I'm sure" ... it never did. It was a good massage but not what I had expected. Checking out is when I realized I was given the 70 dollar deep tissue instead of the 48 dollar foot massage. I did express my disappointment/ confusion and they took off 9 dollars. Anyways if you do go make sure you point at the menu at what you want and repeat it. If you made an online appointment don't assume they even looked at it. read more

They know what they're doing, they work on the body as a whole and understand pressure points, use various techniques to get knots and tangles out, recommend ways to help tense muscle strains. I've been coming here for 2-3 years and the level of quality has remained consistent, the rooms are clean, peaceful, and dinner with lighting and music to reflect and promote a truly relaxing atmosphere. The med spas charging $120+ are shameful as I realized that the level of mastery does not even come close to what they premise: $70/1 hour deep tissue massage and I walk out of here feeling like a new person. I highly highly recommend to anyone!!! read more

Made an appointment for my husband and I for foot massages. Service was what you would expect from an Asian food spa, rooms were very clean and quiet, people were very prompt and professional. I did feel a little off put by the woman who checked us in though. I felt like she was trying to trick us into purchasing the combo massage (which is $60 instead of $48) and said multiple times that the foot massage was only feet, which is not true. I get frequent foot massages and they always start with a head and shoulder massage, move to arms, then move and stay longer on the feet and then end by flipping over and doing your back. This place was no exception. 60 min Foot massage includes 12 minutes on back whereas the combo is 30 minutes. I paid cash because they charge a 3% convenience fee for credit cards. read more

They do such a wonderful job tell them what type of pressure you want. I go here almost weekly they're wonderful

A friend had told me about this place a few years ago and I finally decided to check it out. I called on a Wednesday afternoon and they were able to take me for a 30 minute massage less than an hour later. The place itself is nothing special, but the massage was amazing. In just 30 minutes, my back felt better than it did in an hour at a big name massage spa. I will definitely be back. read more

Foot Smile Spa - Evanston - Massage Therapy Near Me - Evanston, Illinois

The massage itself was OUTSTANDING. I didnt have an appt and was literally walking by. The owners called me in and in minutes I was on a table waiting for the therapist. I didnt catch the gentleman's name but his massage was INTENSE. I typically get deep tissue massages and it was the most thorough massage I've ever gotten. He checked in several times by just saying "Okay?" and that was it. I opted for the full body deep tissue at 70, with a 20% tip. The only drawback was that the towels didnt smell great. Advice for management - the high heat setting on the dryer would work great. Reinvesting in new towels periodically would also be wonderful. read more

So nicely done. The overall experience. The room is cozy and calm with music and lights dimmed. The Practicioner is respectful and professional. Applying the perfect pressure. Great technique. Highly recommend. I shall be a repeat customer! read more

It's my go-to. They give great massages and don't mess around! I like the foot and shoulder combo and also cupping.

Went in for a quick massage. Had a great experience. It felt like a deep tissue massage and I felt it the following day. Nothing like an evening massage for a lazy day the next day. The location is convenient to access and the surrounding area has a lot of restaurants to try out. Good experience overall. read more

Highly recommend this spot for a good foot and deep tissue massage. The staff is really professional and they do a great job.

A few minutes into my massage, they changed the massage therapist out without telling me. I started with a woman who was very friendly, but there was a commotion, and people coming in and out of my room, and I thought it was her who came back. I had my face down and was unclothed, so I didn't see. But a man had come back, and he didn't say anything to me. They did not, at any point, attempt to tell me. I was already feeling confused and uncomfortable because he was very rough and it was very different than the beginning. He finally spoke and I realized what had happened. I had no idea if he was even supposed to be in there, and no one, at any point, asked for my consent. People continued to come in and out of the room while he finished my massage. I left feeling very uncomfortable. It took me a couple days, but I called to see if this was a one-off and to tell them that it was pretty frightening. The woman on the phone said "We didn't want to distract you." She wasn't defensive, but it was clear she did not care. It was significantly more distracting to be confused and concerned as to why someone who you just spoke to is suddenly being very rough... when it wasn't even the same person at all. I don't recommend this place. It is never okay to put someone in a position where an unknown man is touching her, and not at the very least give a gentle check in. I tried to tell the receptionist that most people would probably prefer a heads up, especially women, but I don't think that will change. Regardless of the switch-up, the massage was rushed, rough, and regularly had people opening the door to my room and talking to each other. Unprofessional all around. read more

Really great reflexology treatment and a good price too. Loved it. I will be a repeat customer for sure. The place is lovely too.

At first glance I wasn't quite sure what to make of this spot that I walked by everyday. But after a particularly stressful day I decided to stop by to see if they could take walk-ins. Thank goodness they do! I got a 30 minute deep tissue massage on the spot for the very reasonable price of $35 plus tip. Before I went in they checked to make sure I was comfortable with a male masseuse. I was, in fact I prefer it because they tend to give a little bit more pressure. He started with the blanket on and then spent the majority of time on my back and shoulders using oil, exactly what I needed. I point the pressure was quite a bit to handle, but I wanted to get some of the knots worked out and I really think that he made some progress. He did check in several times to see if the pressure was okay because I was squirming so much. At the end of the massage he cleaned off my back with a hot towel which was nice so that I didn't get oil all over my clothes. It looked like there was rooms for multiple people and I think it would be really nice to do a couples massage there sometime. If we decide to do that I'll definitely update the review to tell you how it is. read more

I've been here 3 times. The massages are good, but the rude staff is what has really turned me off. These places are a dime a dozen, customer service really goes a long way. read more

Feeling uncomfortable after working out so I came here. Effectively relieved my lower back pain, recommend. .

I feel activated, yall. I've been here two times and I relish in the prospect of being able to come back. Foot Smile Spa is a place that many people walk past on Davis and give no notice to. However, within is a den of relaxation beckoning your soul. While the lobby may feel slightly small and sterile, once you step in through the door, you're met by the smell of fragrant incense, dim lights, and the pulse of gentle music. The price range at Foot Smile is jaw-droppingly affordable, and I'm a fan of the $35/hr massage. While it is slightly unnerving that you receive your massage in a room with others, it's the perfect place to bring a friend along. Once they set you up, they immediately wash your feet with a steaming hot towel. Wiping your body with a steaming hot towel is truly one of life's simple pleasures. The masseuses truly know how to incite the senses into relaxation. I especially love the attention to the head and face that Foot Smile does. When my masseuse puts pressure on my forehead and temples, I imagine my third eye being activated. The environment complements the massage so well, and it's an easy way to escape to a simpler life. Foot Smile offers a number of massages that I look forward to trying in the near future. They even have a four-hand massage - that's right, FOUR-HANDS! How many places can you find where you're one person with four-hands on you?! I cannot recommend Foot Smile enough and find myself constantly raving about it. Go treat yourself - get your hair did at Kami Salon across the street and then follow it up with a massage at Foot Smile! read more

great spot for full body massage. I have had many different therapist here and you really can't go wrong

Such a horrible experience. It seems even 1 star is too much for this place. Me and and my partner decided to have a Deep Tissue Massage. First of all we had been waiting for masseurs for 15 minutes since we were taken into the room (our appointment was at 630p, we got a bit late like 632, then we were deciding which massage we want to order and got into the room at 635. Masseurs started doing massage at 650, I know because looked at my watch). The hostess let us know it was going to be an oily massage. Masseurs used just a bit of oil on my back and back of my legs. They were doing the massage with their elbows approximately 90% of the massage. That's weird because I doubt if anybody can feel enough with their elbows and not to hurt, especially when you massage the area around the spine. Their elbows hurt a bit and I showed it. When the masseur were using their hands it felt like light touches (reiki lol). Only my back, back of my legs, my head and my neck, and a bit of arms were massaged. Well, I liked how they massaged my head and ears only. Everything else just a ridiculous process which I cannot even call a massage. They were done at 740p. (50 minutes instead of 1 hr, like it was stated on their price list). When the host asked us if everything was ok, I definitely described my complaints. She insisted that it was one hour (whatever), and she mentioned that everyone does that type of massage with their elbows and it's normal practice. She confirmed whatever we got massaged it's exactly how it's supposed to be. Ok, we paid, receipt attached to this review. We got charged some additional service fee which we were not aware of... I asked for a contact information of the owner and she gave me only their email stating that the owner is in California. Ah, yeah, and the masseurs were talking and laughing all the time. It wasn't too loud but still annoying when you just want to relax. Anyway, I don't want to go there again and wouldn't recommend this place to anybody. In similar places like Foot Smile Spa in Chicago you can get better experience and full body massage for less money. Basically we got limited version of what we usually get but for more money. read more

It is a scam and a rip off. Don't go there before reading this. I called today to make a reservation for whole body massage and the receptionist told me that it was $42. After massage, the receptionist told me I had to pay $60. What a rip off. She would not let me leave without paying $60. After paying $60 cash, I pushed the door open and tried to leave. They ran out of the door and screaming me for not paying the tips, otherwise they would call 911. It was so bad experience and I definitely will not come back! read more

Highly recommend! Amazingly strong massage therapists. Nice atmosphere. Very quiet. Great prices.

This was walking distance from my hotel. I walked-in, waited a little, but the most important thing is they took me and I got my massage. The place is nice and clean. The massage was awesome, I got the foot massage for $35. This treatment soaks your feet in warm water for a good 30 mins while they massage your head, neck and arms, they they work on your feet and lower body. I ran that day so the stretching at the end helped a lot. read more

This place is so excellent. For the amount of money you spend, the results you get are phenomenal and I am pretty sure this is one of the best massage places you'll find, despite the low price. Sure, the masseuses hands occasionally smell like garlic and you might hear someone burping in back - for $35 bucks you can suck it up. I especially love Lucy and Coco. Lucy remembers her customers and speaks English. She's been helping me significantly with a nasty case of plantar fasciitis (when certain tendons are over-stressed, "runner's foot" can happen. It's not fun.) She's not just a robot, she remembers and she cares and analyzes my progress. I always give her a tip almost as big as cost of massage. I've found that all of the masseuses seem to know the complexities of the musculoskeletal well. Expect some pain. It's part of the process. If you want a relaxing massage and not a deep tissue massage you should text the main number and let the woman know. Best way to communicate. Not a ton of English spoken. If you don't wanna be lined up side-by-side with other people in one room, ask for a private room, your massage will cost a bit more but you'll have privacy. read more

I had such a great experience here. My mom and I got massages the other day and we both loved it. I struggle with a lot of tense muscles and this is exactly what I needed. I usually wake up with neck and back pain but the day after this was for the first time in a while I didn't have pain! They were so kind, the place was very clean and it is a really great massage for the price. Highly recommend! read more

If you're looking for a tranquil, European-style massage place to relax, this isn't it. If you're looking for an Asian-influence, reflexology health and wellness kind of massage place, you've hit the jackpot. I booked 60 minute deep tissue massages for my wife, mother-in-law, and myself and we definitely got worked on. My massage was never uncomfortable or painful, but my masseuse Nicole definitely got some knots out, especially around my scapula. She went the full 60 minutes (no shortcuts here) and I was impressed with how much she fit into the time. There was some Swedish massage with warm oils, some acupressure, some shiatsu, and some stretching. She worked a lot on my upper back and neck, which was exactly what I needed. I was sore the next day around my scapula, but it went away after a day. This was the massage I needed! read more

My boyfriend purchased us a couple's massage off of Groupon for here as something to try out together (neither of us had been to a massage parlor or spa before). Since we weren't exactly sure of what to expect, we both opted for the Swedish massage. The massage was for an hour long, but the time went by pretty quickly. Since this was my first massage, I wasn't quite expecting to feel some of the slight pain that went into getting out all the knots and tensions in my upper back area, but overall, it felt extremely relaxing. The masseuses are very thorough, and they also ask if it's too uncomfortable/painful every now and then. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're in the Evanston area and in need of a relaxing massage - Foot Smile Spa has plenty of options ranging from foot to full body massages, and the prices seem quite reasonable. read more

Always prompt (recommend booking ahead of time as they're popular) and absolutely amazing massages! Out of all of the massage places I've gone, Tina at this spa might be my #1! She really thoroughly spends time with your problem spots, and uses some techniques I'm not used to but looove (like some joint stretching in between). Strong but attentive to your reactions. A good deal, too! read more

The deep tissue massage I received was one of the best massages I have ever received. The masseuse really got these knots out and made lasting changes. It was very professional as well. Mask wearing was enforced and it was clean. They also quickly take your temperature when you arrive. My only small advice for improvement is that my masseuse was a male and I was unaware that was happening. It is partially my responsibility for not requesting a female. However, this masseuse worked magic and I began to feel more comfortable after a while. If this place wanted to go the extra mile they maybe could inform clients who will be their masseuse over the phone. read more

I just had a 30 min massage with Anna, and she completely melted away the knots in my shoulder and neck. I could've sworn the massage was longer but when I looked at my watch, she basically performed a miracle in that amount of time. She moves efficiently and quickly, yet spends time on your trouble spots without rushing. I like deep tissue, just not the deep hurt, so I told her I like the pressure light/soft, and she adjusted perfectly. I got the deep tissue without the pain. Best deal in town, and very reasonably priced for the focused massage. Just a note: it's not Swedish massage which is relaxing with long strokes. Deep tissue is strong pressure (the massage tables are low and they lean their whole body weight into you) and you need to ask for the type of pressure that works for you. It's a fine line between relaxing and effectively working your muscles. Foot Smile Spa is clean, friendly, and always on time. read more

I was in town for a workshop and went here for a massage . I stopped in on my break to make an appointment and the receptionist was very accommodating as I wasn't sure exactly what time my class would be over. I did not have a preference for male or female therapist, but she did ask. The massage space was very clean and relaxing . I received an hour massage with focus on my back and feet and it was just what I needed , I would definitely recommend foot smile spa read more

I'm a huge fan of the reflexology massage. I used Fit Foot for years in Fullerton and there is no better $30 massage or so I thought. Since moving to the burbs I thought I was out of luck on my massage options. I was walking around at lunch one day and stumbled upon this place down the street from my office. They also happened to be on Groupon, so why not take a flyer on it. Today I finally went and it was great. The place is clean and my masseuse Lisa was awesome. She was part Vlad the Impaler and I should have probably asked to go a little lighter, because I am beat up. It feels great though! She was literally on top of me using her knees to work through my tightness. My only complaint was that it was a bit loud at times, as you could hear through the walls. Overall this place is bomb! read more

We had the Deep Tissue massage for $58. This massage focused a lot on our backs for the most part and and less time on other parts. If that's what you're looking for, it may be a nice experience. We were expecting something else. However, afterwards for a more full body experience the front desk person recommend some of their other massages to target the head, neck, legs, feet... We contacted the owner about our slight disappointment and he was helpful in proposing a gesture of goodwill, and even invited us back to experience something better next time. We appreciate business owners that take their costumers feelings into consideration. Kudos for doing that. read more

Chinese style deep massage at its best. It's been too long since I've had a wonderful and authentic Chinese tuina massage. I bought a groupon for the 1hr thai body + foot massage. It was my first time here and my appointment was at 10:30am, right when they opened. There was plenty of street parking at this time which is always a plus (yay!). I was greeted by Ada, my masseuse. She led me to the middle area behind the string curtain where there were 3 beds, where I was assigned the middle one. While Ada went to grab the items for the foot soak, I looked around. It was dim and there was soft instrumental music playing. Very relaxing atmosphere. Everything looked very nice and it was also very neat and clean. Ada massaged my face and head first. Then the neck, shoulders, arm and hands. Afterwards, she did the legs and feet. Finally I turned on my stomach and she did my back. Ada was really nice and kept checking in with me about the pressure. It felt like she used a very moisturizing lotion; it didn't feel like oil. The smell was light and pleasant, kind of citrus-y and it didn't bother me at all. During the entire time, I had my clothes on. I'm not sure if that matters to anyone but that didn't bother me at all. Overall I was very very happy with my 1 hr massage. I think I would come back even without a groupon. I would definitely recommend this place to friends and family. read more
