Unfortunately when I reached out to this massage therapist by calling the number listed here and on the website, I was immediately sent a text from another number that said "Please text me." Obviously I didn't recognize this number or understand why I was receiving this random message from a random number. So I asked who it is. The response was extremely rude saying "You called me. Who is this?!?" I'm attaching the screenshot of this exchange. For a massage therapist that indicates on their website that they treat clients with dignity and respect, this response to someone reaching out to your business for the very first time is very unprofessional and contradictory to what they proclaim their values are. Husband treated me to a Mother's Day massage. Went in thinking I was going to get a fluffy relaxing massage. Maeva pinpointed every tense, painful muscle and joint. And then she started her magic. Maeva is truly gifted when it comes to massage therapy. I've been to see her several times now. I've had deep tissue massage over the years but often times the therapist would contort my arms in awkward angles to get at the muscles and it always made me nervous. Coming to Maeva, I learned what I really needed was trigger point work! She has an innate ability to find the points in your body where the tension and pain lives and then massage it away. Maeva is more than a massage therapist, she is a true healer. She has a gift of finding those "trouble spots" hidden deep within muscles. I came to her with a crazy muscle in my glute that completely seized up. It was hard as a rock and completely deformed my glute. Okay, so I've never been to The Green Room: On Fridays she works down at Apple Heath & Wellness in Cupertino and if you are an employee (or a lucky "s.o."-- significant other, like me) then you MUST make your appointment as soon as possible. Before I get into Deborah as a masseuse, I must comment on how Deborah, herself, is a HEALER-- there's magic in her hands and heart. She knows the body, y'all. She talks. She listens. ...and I'm talking about she talks and listens to the body, as well as you. She is truly blessed with an intuitive gift, and I come out feeling mentally, physically, and emotionally better. She's THAT good. In terms of the actual massage therapy, which we jointly dubbed "THE BRAXTON METHOD," it is simply amazing. She was trained (at least in part, I don't know about in whole) at De Anza, and she must've put in a lot of extra credit hours. Deborah specializes in deep tissue massage...like, DEEP (though, she is perfectly capable and fab at just a general, relaxing massage). I'm not a small man-- 6'2", 200lbs-- and Deborah's not a large woman--she comes up to my nipple, maybe-- but she is the most hardcore massage I've ever received, and I've looked around for a while. She's not afraid to get up on the table and find/work on "that little sucker" until it's taken care of. Oh life....how you stress me out. For some reason my shoulders have really liked hanging out around my ears, which is not good. Not good at all. After one dismal attempt at getting a decent massage to help me not only chill out, but to really work out the knots in my shoulders, I found Deborah. I am sort of on a "let me tell you about my favorite people who make me feel lovely" kick tonight so... let me tell you about massages from Deborah Braxton. She is one of the most in tune with your body and your needs massage therapists I have ever worked with. She gets right to the point with her work too, which I love. If I ask for it, she'll be gentle but usually she kicks my ass exactly how a good massage therapist should. She take it beyond generic massage and blends in stretching techniques and sports massage stuff even when you are not specifically getting a sports massage. I'm in love with the deep tissue stuff and the 90-minutes I usually get flies by all to quickly. In terms of the vibe, the Green Room is so chill (and literally awash in greenieness). The scents are soothing (even when you don't get an aromatherapy service), the lighting is just right and she always chooses just the right tunes. This is another one of those places on the peninsula that makes it worthwhile to haul myself down from SF. Always worth the drive. Deborah is an amazing massage therapist. And she's truly that--a therapist. She is able to do deep work on muscles to relieve long-term pain and tension you didn't even know you had. She is also an exceptional listener. She can dig in and do the serious, deep, therapeutic work. Or she can dial it back and do a great relaxation massage. Either way, it's always a fantastic experience. Finally, Deborah is very sensitive to your needs at the moment, both in terms of the massage and also in terms of interaction. I have been a loyal client of Deborahs for more than a year and a half now. I have to admit I have been reluctant to write a review up until now due to the fact that she is highly sort after and I already have to book my appointments with her months in advance. I am in one of those professions that requires hours of continued bending of the neck, and use of the wrists and forearms. I made the conscious decision to discontinue the prescription medications (pain killers, muscle relaxers, etc.), and hoped that some therapeutic body work would mean no more corisone injections from the doctor. I began seeing Deborah for ninety minute sessions twice a month, and within months felt a great improvement. Today I am free of prescription medications and go for an hour massage just once a month. I no longer get muscle spasms, or the type of back pain that requires cortisone shots. I have tried chiropractic and acupunture, but neither relieved my pain like this massage master. I was motivated to write this review after reading the review of 'Thomas E.', an individual who has self-admittedly never experienced one of her incredible deep-tissue massages. Apparently, he thinks it is o.k. to use Yelp to write uninformed reviews containing personal information. He complains that he had a difficult time setting up an appointment with her. During the time mentioned he is correct in saying she was pre-occupied to the extent that she was juggling a full clientel with a wait-list on top of relocating from a home she had recently moved into. The home she had moved into turned out to be in an unsuitable area, and so she needed to get herself and her children into a safe neighborhood immediately . . . welcome to Bay Area living, where expensive living doesn't necessarily mean acceptable! All I can say is that during this time my massage sessions with her were excellent - I left feeling relaxed and renewed and looking forward to the next session. Her personal life never effected the quality of her work. I am picky when it comes to body work, and it took me a while to find Deborah, but she is well worth the wait. If you want a same day massage appointment with a good-enough CMT, there are plenty in this area. If you want serious pain relief from an educated body-worker and business woman, book in advance with Deborah. read more

Highly customized and skilled deep tissue massage. A lot of focus on trigger points with a hyper clean environment and modern positive energy to the space. The masseuse is extremely skilled and one of the rare breeds who finds your trouble spots and listens to the client's requests. She brings expertise to the table (pun intended) but still listens to the person and will focus as needed. I was so relieved to have found a masseuse who does not pay lip service to the idea of focusing on problem areas. I was referred to Deborah by some jogging buddies before my first marathon run. In minutes, she knew my muscles better than I did. She really gave my legs what they needed; she was able to really work my body up to the edge of discomfort, but not cross that line. And so much "hurts so good." I haven't had a million massages, but it was clear to me her skill is an order greater than what you can expect to find anywhere else. Taylor D. Maeva helped me while I was having trouble with my asthma. For about a month my asthma had been acting up and medicine and nebulizer treatments helped temporarily. She did PNF (Proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation) to help stretch the muscles around my lungs and it has helped relieve my symptoms longer then any medicine ever could. I never realized how the muscles around that area could affect my breathing until she worked on me I was able to get that little bit of extra room to breathe a full breath. I loved that Maeva fulfilled the duties of a true "massage-therapist". It was one of the most painful massages I've ever had but two days later I feel like brand new and pain free! I had a 60 minute deep tissue and trigger point massage with Deborah in August. It was my first time with her and she spent a good half hour (which didn't count towards the 60 minutes) to talk to me first about my massage needs. I work a desk job full time and then continue with homework at my own desk afterwards. I carry all my stress in my neck/shoulders/jaw plus I have TMJ. Never had a professional massage given to me laying on my back, for my shoulders, neck, jaw, temple, she even went in my cheek to alleviate TMJ symptoms there. I didn't even know it was possible to massage inside your mouth, haha! Taught me a couple of jaw exercises too. She really makes you feel comfortable and at home. My jaw felt really loosened up! It was my first real legit legit massage so I could really feel the variance in her technique being so far beyond anything I've ever experienced. Like a 5 pound weight removed from my neck. I have had many different massages from different therapists; however, Maeva is truly at the top of her field. Although she had just moved to an unfinished space I was able to book an hour long appointment after my wife raved about how good she felt after her first session with her. For my appointment she focused on my right pectoral which I aggravated a little over a week ago. She quickly evaluated me and worked my injured pec as well as my arm, shoulder and upper back. She worked each trouble area and trigger point with such determination and care, always checking to see how you are feeling because, the harsh reality of trigger point release involves some level of discomfort. That said she will only subject to a reasonable level of discomfort for as long as required. Therefore, I must say this is the most effective oelne hour massage I have had because, although I am a bit sore which is expected, my aggravated pectoral area feels much better. I have been seeing Deborah for almost a year and have been thinking of writing a review. What finally prompted me is that due to a mix up my appt yesterday was cancelled and I couldn't get my massage. I just wanted to bawl. I realize I am addicted. She's that good. I have tried a lot of massage therapists and found only one do far that I love and that's Deborah. Usually I walk out of massages feeling relaxed but that barely lasts an hour. With Deborah it lasts at least 3 weeks (without my changing my lifestyle - exercise, typing, knitting, poor posture, minimal stretching etc). She does a combination of different massage techniques but a lot of Deep tissue and Trigger point (at least with me). She knows her anatomy (better than I do and I am an MD). Another reviewer commented that she listens to you and your body and that is spot on. I have never known anyone else who could tell me I am tight in a place or find my tight spots before I know of their existence. She works pretty hard at getting rid of them. As a bonus she is a warm and caring and genuine person. Interested in healing as opposed to making a quick buck. There is a long wait for Deborah and that is why I am usually booked way in advance. Thanks to Yelp, I found what I consider to be magical massage by Deborah at Sorely Kneaded in Mountain View. So add another 5-star review to the list! First, Deborah has a warm, wonderful personality that immediately welcomed me and put me at ease. Her massage room is comfortable and relaxing - she'll offer you choices of music (ooh, Nora Jones) as well as of massage oil scents (ah, lemon/lavender). The oil is so light that after the massage sessions I forget it had been applied. Conversation flows freely, punctuated by laughter. Sometimes a peaceful quiet combines with the heated massage table to give a pleasant, cocoon-like feeling. The magic is in the way she manages to quickly determine exactly where your pain is, and then probes into it. Her unique combination of knowledge, intuition, strength and technique becomes focused on working through and releasing your pain. The massage process itself is not pain-free, but as another reviewer noted, it's in a "hurts-so-good" kind of way. You could say that she pounds the pain into submission. She's simply an excellent massage therapist. If you're considering making an appointment with Deborah, I say "Just do it." You won't regret it! read more

This review is long overdue. I have been a client of Deborahs for ~ 3 years and have had phases where I see her regularly and then take a long break when life gets crazy. I normally go in for trigger point massage and Deborah knows and understands the human body and its trigger points better than anyone I have every met. My first set of issues was to resolve trigger points in my calves but more recently she completely resolved issues I had with a semi-frozen shoulder -agonizing pain that came down to manageable in 90 minutes without meds! She has also help a lot with a back flareup and can identify /diagnose issues that I did not even think about. I really enjoy her deep knowledge and professionalism. Echoing an earlier reviewer -she has also worked on my face and eliminated trigger points near my eyebrows (who knew!) that were causing me chronic headaches that I just assumed were due to chronic computer time! Deborah is beyond awesome, I can't say enough good things about her! I have been having some serious issues with my shoulders and forearms due to too much typing at work. After seeing 2 different physical therapists and going through a bunch of physical therapy, I still had not seen much relief. In just under 5 sessions, Deborah has significantly lessened my pain AND helped my limbs heal. She is awesome and very patient with any questions or concerns. She also will take the time and explain the physiology of your pain (i.e. pain in the forearm might start from the shoulder given all the connected muscles). Deborah was great. Making an appointment was easy through her online appointment system and it even sent me a reminder email the day before my appointment. I had no trouble (other than the fact that she books up fast so make your appointments early! :-). She is extremely knowledgeable, professional and very conscientious about making sure you are comfortable. She took the time to listen to and assess my specific needs before starting and she tailored the massage as she progressed.
