Staff are nice and they do a good job. They are nice and I liked my nails when they were finished. The nails held up for 3 weeks!

I've had two powder manicures by Jennifer. These are the best manicures I've ever gotten. My nails were shaped beautifully, and her attention to detail is superb. I was taken on time and shown courtesy by all staff. read more

Once again, I tried going there after several years, . I had a pedicure, which looks like it was done by my 10 year-old. The girl was on the phone the whole time. and a result is a really sloppy job. The only reason why I went back to Vivian's nail salon is because my girlfriend had been there recently and recommended it, she told me they have gotten a lot better, which is not the case it still is the worst nail salon in Skokie read more

Vivian's has been my go-to nail salon for years. The entire staff is extremely friendly and they all do a great job. Kelly is wonderful! I go here for acrylic sets, mostly. They get busy on weekends so I try to go during a weekday as I must reserve at least an hour for a full set. Bright and comfortable setting. Pricing is as expected for the area. Highly recommend. read more

I am a longtime customer of Vivian's Nails. I just enjoy the service and atmosphere at the nail salon. I was able to get my mani/pedi in just before the holidays after a busy short week of work. The shop has convenient hours for the busy client. I like how they have some different types of nail art and techniques. For the holidays they gave me shiny nails. I call them my Wicked nails but they are green like a dark evergreen with tensile. I love them as they are different. I never am disappointed by Steven and the ladies at the nail salon. read more

5. Thank you Vivian Nails. You guys professionally did a job on my not so easy feet. Kelly is such a wonderful person to have on your staff.

I've been going here for 12 years. Everyone is amazing. From Brenda to Tina, they are all great!

I don't have much experience at this salon as I was only there once. I called shortly before and asked if they could fit me in to have my dip manicure taken off (for surgery). They were prompt and polite. The price was a bit high for a manicure removal ($25), but I would check out their other services. read more

I normally don't ever make a review but this service with SALLY was the absolute worst!I've never met anyone so rude in my life. I came in to get got a manicure just to give my nails a break from no-chip. When I came in, the manager was very attentive and was polite about what I wanted. I simply said I wanted a manicure and I started picking out colors that was by the register. After, there was no communication to which woman was going to do my nails. Sally had asked me to pay upfront after filing my nails. I gave her the standard 18% tip- which was fine. The entire time it only took 8-10 mins; She was responding to her text messages , was too much in rush, doing such a sloppy job, and on top of that didn't even file my nails evenly. When she was done , she stood up without saying anything and just went in the back to watch on her phone. After waiting for my nails to dry, I stood up and said thank you. She gave me an "up and down look" and I was completely ignored. This service was beyond horrendous! DO NOT ever, ever go to SALLY. read more

So grateful that the receptionist at New Horizon told me about Vivian's Nails. She had an gorgeous ombre almond shaped manicure that was done by Brenda. I did the cat-eye colored gel manicure and it was done by Nancy. Absolutely love my manicure... Nancy did an amazing job. Salon is clean and everyone was friendly and professional. Vivian's Nails - Obsessed with this gel manicure. - Nail Salons Near Me - Skokie, Illinois

The last 2 times I have tried to give them a chance I have been disappointed. My first experience here back in 2014 before their remodel was not good. I figured after the remodel, maybe some things have changed. Their work is terrible. I went in for a pedi and the polish was old and my pedi did not come out like it usually does. I then took my daughter for a French manicure, and it's like rocket science explaining to them not to make the line super thick. I was then charged $35 and another amount showed up on my statement. The customer service here is a joke. The regulars keep them in business because I cannot see how any new clients are attracted here. Keep fresh polish in stock, focus on customer service and I will gladly support this local small business. read more

too expensive they took $5 extra dollars for shape and they charge me $50 for short nail even though other nails offer $40. and even for little one gem she were asking me to pay $5 I mean the lady who did my nail is very rude. worst service I got. they thought I never did acrylic and I don't know the price. but they did terrible job. I will not suggest u to go there and the vibe was so pissed I dont like it read more

I tried to check out a new nail salon spot to do last minute gel fill-in appointment today and unfortunately it was not a clean job.. instead cut the time short and the technicians attempt to do a fast nail service. There were NO last minute steps for polishing on top gel coat (after I even asked the technician if he will put on top coat) and/or nail wipe to clean off any extra residue. NONE. I will still pay and tip for this service but, I am not pleased with how they can possibly treat new-potential clientele. I regretfully decided to try a new nail salon that my friend goes to. Big mistake. First impression walking in here: the overpowering smell of nail polish chemicals. No wonder you see the employees wearing masks. The place was unwelcoming and the lady doing my nails didn't even say a word or give a smile. I had a no chip manicure done and the lady seemed rushed, and the hand massage (which is my favorite part about getting my nails done) was short and pathetic. I am giving at least 2 stars because my nails turned out decent. Will be back on an update to tell if they they will last 2 weeks or chip within days. read more

I will not go back- - absolutely no ventilation, I should've left when I walked in - paid for a pedi and no chip mani and the massages I received were not reflective that they were trying to provide the best service - a worker called a customer crazy twice while I was there. Not sure what the problem was but weird situation - fastest pedi I've ever received, polish doesn't look bad but I will stick with my usual Salon Xpressions even with a 30 minute wait next time. read more

This is not the first time. When you come, the owner gives you wait time to turn you in and make you waiting. Then when you acknowledge that the given time passed two times, you hear "you can go and comeback later if you like". No! I want my time to be respected and I need a realistic wait time honestly given. I am not asking for a great precision. But you are the owner, you know your work and people who work for you...why the giving 10-20 minutes that become almost 50? Lastly, great people who work for this guy and very nice job done on nails read more

I was getting ready for leave for another business trip and thought I need to have a decent mani-pedi before I get on that plane. I walked in about 30 minutes to closing time. Yea, I know, I'm a horrible person. It wasn't my fault. I searched on Yelp for a location that I could visit whilst in Skokie. Some place showed up but I couldn't find it and instead, as I was driving around, I noticed Vivian's from the road so I pulled in. They took me right away even though every chair seemed full with someone getting a service. Ernie started on my pedicure and since they were so closed to closing, Lan started on the manicure. I felt like a star. They were so attentive and made sure that I was more than satisfied with how it looked on my nails. French mani-pedi for $40. Thank you, I'll be back. Not to sound repetitive, but I would also give this place one star if Yelp permitted. After thirty loyal years to her nail technician, my mother tried Vivian's Nails for a dip manicure, as her normal manicurist does not yet perform this service. After one manicure she encouraged me to make an appointment with Michael for my first dip manicure, which I promptly did. I arrived at 4:20 for my 4:30 appointment, and Michael did not take me until about 4:35. The only reason I mention the time is that about ten minutes into my manicure he began complaining that he had another appointment scheduled for 5pm, and that my nails were taking a long time. I assumed that manicurists who remove and do no chip/gel are aware that the time gained in drying the nails is taken up for by the time it takes to remove the polish...I guess Michael never received that memo. Overall, he was rude to me throughout the manicure and jerked my hands/arms around during the process with eye rolls. When his 5pm appointment arrived he pulled her by the hand over to me, shoved her hand in my face and told me that her manicure was a dip that had lasted for three weeks, so I should know that my manicure will last. Well, it's been one week and guess what! The polish on two of my nails has already popped off completely! Yup. Great job, Michael! I'm going to give them the opportunity to make his right, but after reading other reviews of his place I won't hold my breath. I guess my unpolished claws came out. read more

I used to live in Skokie and went upon Vivians Nails late last year and wish I went there sooner! I have NEVER had a bad experience, they make my nails perfect every time and the ONLY place that has never been rough with my hands when it comes to acrylic. Instead of filing harshly to get the shape I want they simply cut the acrylic nails with the sides of regular clippers, so it's not sensitive to my hands. Ever since I moved to the city, I drive 30-40 min to this salon because of their prices, cleanliness, color options, timing and the results. They have dip powders, gel, and regular colors EVERYWHERE. P.S I have been to nail salons that take 2 hours for acrylics! I have always left this salon under an 1hr before and up to 1 1/12 when I want something more. I wish I got a picture of my dipped nails, which while I am typing this I am on my way to them now :))) By the way I have had almost every nail tech in the salon and they have all done a great job. I am SO picky with my nails especially the shape (almost tapered square but NOT coffin) but they do it right every time. My favorite nail tech is Chi (like Chi-cago) she's so sweet but again every one is amazing. (Don't be stealing her away from my appointments xD) read more

I really like Brenda she's very talented and really takes the time to shape your nails the way you want it and make them not too thick but not too thin. They do dip here for $40 and gel no chip for $35 and pedicure for $25. The chairs are very comfortable and massage some places other chairs miss. Everybody is very nice! I did ombré and really liked it and my coffin shape did not cost extra. Brenda makes great recommendations. read more

I walked in at 710pm on Thursday no one in there, sign and website says 8pm close. They refuse to do no-chip manicure cause they said after 5pm is by appointment only. NO SIGN to say that... Why is there so many bad reviews? I'm not sure if it's just complainers doing their usual complaining, but I had nothing to complain about. I called in advance to see if I can walk in and they were happy to take me. I grew up in the area and always passed by Vivian's, so I finally decided to try some no chip mani and regular pedi. I'll be honest, I don't get my nails done a lot because I like doing it myself at home to save money, but I think I'll be a regular customer because of Lisa. Lisa did my nails she was very nice and sweet. If there was anything that was an extra cost, she made sure to get my consent first which is very important to be translucent about those things. Something that was very important to me as well, is that I have a small twitch in my toes on my left foot. This can make it frustrating for the nail tech, Lisa was very patient and understood my condition. Overall, I was happy with the results. Another plus, was that they had Apple Pay!! This makes it SO much easier to pay at the end so I don't have to dig through my purse and risk ruining my hands, or make the nail tech uncomfortable when I ask them to go through my things. I will be coming back!!! read more

I always have a great experience here, and my dip manicure consistently lasts longer than when I get it at other spots. (Approx 3-4 weeks)

Absolutely terrible service! Especially Stefan which I believe is the owner. The shop was dirty, the nail polishes were beyond old and dried out, and they treat you like they are doing you a favor by doing your nails when it's a service I'm paying for. They also reuse their foam flip flops which is a foot fungus waiting to happen. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!! read more

They keep me coming back! This place is not near my home at all. However, they are close to my mom and grandma's house and I always make sure to come here when I can. I am one who is always getting hangnails and they do a great job with trimming the excess skin and cleaning cuticles. I've been to all of the technicians and I feel that Long and Chi are the ones I prefer the most due to their meticulous work. However I was never displeased with any of the technicians. Steve always says hello and asks about my mom, who comes with me once in awhile. They get 4 stars instead of 5 because I feel that their prices are not the best, and also they sometimes overbook. Even after trying many other places, I always find myself coming back here. read more

I have been there several times. Yesterday I had made an appointment as I had a wedding that evening. It became clear when I arrived that everyone was busy and no one was going to honor my appointment. I said I needed to leave and would come back when they would take me. I made an appointment for 3 hours later. I called in advance to make sure they were running on time. I was told I would need to wait as they do not take appointments on Sundays. What? You made 2 appointments with me and never planned to honor any of them? The owner is rude and disrespectful of anyone' s time. I will never go there again and encourage others to find a place to go where they are not doing you a favor by doing your nails. read more

Usually when I go to Vivian's nails, I have a good experience. But unfortunately this time around. I feel like everything was rushed. I went into the salon with the intention of getting oval shaped nails, the lady that was doing my nails started doing them & then after the fact that she did them she said that there is going to be an up charge. I didn't mind that because that's what I wanted. But being a customer, it would have made sense to inform me prior. She then continued to do my nails, I stated that I wanted them thin which she didn't listen and made them bulky. All the nails were different shaped. When I told her she said they looked fine, and she continued to ignore the fact that I was not satisfied with the nails. She tried to explain to me that it was the oil that made the nails look bulky but that wasn't the case. read more

I just moved back to Wilmette from Arizona and needed to find a place that does acrylic nails. I used to come to Vivians with my mom many years ago and after checking yelp decided to give it a try again. I've gone 4 or 5 times already and am very satisfied with the service. I have gone mostly to Steve (he's funny!) and he does a great job and is very meticulous. The price is right and you can usually get in right away (if you're not a complete meany to them, people are so rude sometimes). Clean environment and usually easy to park. The only thing that I would say is that I'm not loving their colors...they have a lot of the same ones but overall I would recommend this place! read more

I have never understood the "getting your nails done" excitement because I have never had a wonderful experience like today at Vivians Nails. Vivian's Nails elevated my pedicure session into a health and wellness spa treatment. I have runners feet, so they were surely abused and neglected. The technician soaked them, srubbed them, cleaned them, massaged them, and made them look so pretty and feel so healthy. In the process, she managed to relaxed them, and made them feel like marathon ready again. She was meticulous, and caring, and the whole experience was even more positive because of her kindness and thoughtfulness.
