Yeah, so I rarely post reviews but my mind is literally blown.. I've been mad sick from a CO leak in my apartment and finally had an appetite so I called this place and placed an order for pickup. I specifically said ONLY avocado, beans, and steak. I paid, went home, and took two bites before realizing it had cilantro in it--it wasn't avocado, but guacamole, and I immediately had an allergic reaction. I called and asked to speak to a manager and they said there was no manager there currently, so I decided to go in. When I went to go give them back my burrito, the guy behind the counter got all defensive, saying he didn't make my burrito. Sure... but surely there must be some communication between the order-taker and the kitchen? If someone is specific about ingredients, that order should be honored and taken seriously. I yelled at the waiter, like anyone would after suffering a major allergic reaction, and he got sassy and said that I "should have let him know it was an allergy" and "sorry, what else do you want me to say. I said sorry and gave you your money back." .... Aren't I entitled to my money back if they royally screw up an order? I then asked for the manager's contact info and he said HE was the manager and said he could put me in touch with the owner. (Although, seconds ago on the phone, there apparently was no manager in the store.) Did I get a manager's contact info? No, he just gave me the restaurant number....which is on google. Despicable. I will not go here again. Blame me for being allergic to food and not getting the order right, definitely. Blame the customer. Wonderful tactic. read more

The food here is delicious. i try to stop here at least once a week on my way home. The ambiance makes you feel right at home, the decor is great, and once again the food is DELICIOUS. This is a wonderful place to just grab a drink and a bite to eat or a group of friends as there is plenty of seating. The food is fresh and the sauces I believe are handmade. Definitely worth checking out! read more

The food was GREAT!!! I didn't stay to eat because I ordered to go but the place looks so cool and cozy I will definitely be coming back here. read more

Good tacos, great prices. The fish bowl is delicious too. And while you're here, enjoy a hibiscus mojito and an elote. You won't be disappointed. read more

Great spot, right by m,j,z trains, great vibe, n veggie tostadas are the best. I've had the margaritas n palomas, n both are good.

Incredibly delicious food. A hearty, well-crafted meal that was perfect from start to finish.

DO NOT EAT HERE!! We were eating our food and having drinks , about a group of us. We were laughing, enjoying and having our fun and the owner demanded that we get out because we were too "LOUD" she also said " it always has to be latinas" she's racist and unfair to her own kind!! The place was also empty. We didn't hear any complaints from the customers, so we weren't disturbing anyone. read more

Come for the happy hour margarita special and a snack. We've been here a few times and the food is good but not amazing. Friendly owner and staff, clean, and in a nutshell a nice easy hangout spot. read more

Im writing this review as I'm sipping my Margarita. This place is a hidden gem. The guacamole is not served with requested spiciness level so they provide you with delicious salsas on the side which are mild, medium or spicy. The chips are FRESH!. My margarita is delicious!! I will definitely be back to try everything else on their menu. read more

This place is a hidden jewel off the bustle of the train at Myrtle Avenue. Great atmosphere, cocktails, music, high ceilings, a backyard...

It was a great taste experience. The chef/cook knows how to make a blend from heaven. I enjoyed every little piece of the quezadillas and the tacos. Overall , thank you for helping me leave hungry land to complete satisfaction land. Keep up. read more

My new spot....loved this place. Had a stressful day and decided i needed a margarita. Sat at the bar and did not leave until hours later. The ambiance was great. Really authentic and colorful. The drinks were good and the food was amazing. None of that fake "Taco Bell" Mexican food. The owner was great and really down to earth. She checked in and made conversation with the customers. Staff was also really friendly. Was nervous about going to a place by myself but I was so comfortable there and will definitely visit regularly. Oh and I have to mention the food again, amazing! read more

I would come to this place every day if they had frozen margaritas. but sadly, they don't.

We did do try to order mexican tacos but delivery says what about we do not deliver right now. All being said i did eat here and it did feel good to be there when karla was on vacation. I believe in destiny . O, please survive!!! read more

Good chips and drinks were good. Service is ok though. Guy at the register with curly hair doesnt know how to take care of the place... Estamos lejos de nuestra tierra, no se puede esperar mas... read more

I love this place! Been here several times. Fish tacos and veggie tacos are my favorite. Delicious. Love the chill vibe too.

Don't be deceived by the divey atmosphere. Food is fantastic!!!! I had a chorizo enchalada, hubby a chicken burrito, and 5 beers: tab was around 40 bucks! Both portions were large enough we have half for lunch tomorrow! Very well seasoned without being burn your stomach lining hot! read more

Excellent Tacos, lots of different choices ranging from 3-4 dollars per taco. Have a lot of different hot sauces to choose from to put on top. Happy hour deals include $5 margs! read more

Very friendly restaurant, good vibe and the food is amazing. I strongly recommend the hot dogs wrapped in bacon, the pico de gallo salsa is excellent and the roasted corn is to die for. read more

This place is really good! Even though it's not a traditional sit down, it has great good (probably the best burrito bowl I've had), with margaritas and service. Outside patio too! read more

i love la lupe the food is so good and so are the margaritas. Love you la Lupe!!

3 tacos, churros and horchata for $12 Lunch special. You can mix and match chicken/beef/veggie. So good! My new go to spot at the myrtle/bway stop. Horchata is sooooo amazing! Burritos look really good too, will have to try next time. $15 credit card minimum btw read more

LOOOOOOOOVE this place ESPECIALLY the Pozole soup - which is the awesome owner Carla's personal recipe. It's literally chicken soup for the soul and get it with the Chorizo Fundito! Delish! read more

La Lupe Cantina - La Lupe y Frida Khalo - Mexican Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

Terrible customer service! The cashier didn't tell me all of the margarita flavors (and they were not listed) so I picked a flavor I normally wouldn't get based on the three options that he gave me and I didn't like it. I went back up to the counter to exchange it for another flavor after hearing him list more flavors to another customer. He said he wouldn't exchange it because he couldn't re-sell it but I could buy another one. I have never had a restaurant not exchange something I didn't like and I should have been told all the flavor options. He didn't care about making the customer happy at all. Terrible experience. read more

The firdt two times I went there, I loved the place and enjoyed their tacos, which they do really well. Recently I ordered a chicken burrito for delivery. It was probably the worst burrito I've had in this neighborhood. It feels like they use frozen vegetables and the burrito itself was not flavorful. They also gave 1 small condiment cup with green salsa and it was not enough sauce to mask the taste of the burrito. read more

FOOD IS AMAZING! But the service is bit crappy. Especially the guy with the long curly hair, who should just get another job, if he's clearly in pure misery. He has the worst customer service attitude ever. But like I said before, the food is amazing, but he is so damn rude. The other guy with the long Pocahontas hair is definitely better at accommodating. Suggestions; We the people would like sweet platines aka plátanos maduros. read more

They gave me a fake $20 in change. The food was cold and wrapped to go instead of to stay. The fish taco was soggy as a result and flavorless. The elote needed acid. Do you really want to spend your money here? No. read more

Bland "mexican" food made for hipsters/tourists. I had high hopes but was disappointed. I wish I could say something better because I really wanted to like this place. Surly, unfriendly young person mixing drinks and taking orders. I noticed they took a Tacombi-esque route with the decor and self service which is fine, but the end result is impersonal and blah. This place also needs to be a lot cleaner. Not acceptable given the enormous array of very good Mexican food in NYC and Brooklyn in general. If you're going to add to an already crowded market then add something outstanding. read more

Edit: Despite the rude reply to my original review, I have gone back here a few times and have really enjoyed it - I've updated the stars from 3 to 5 accordingly. Service and flavor have definitely improved. (Also, the guacamole is now much bigger.) Original review: The first time I went I had very rude service, they got my order wrong, and the food was bland. The second time I went I had good service, they got my order wrong, and the food was bland. The chips and guacamole is wildly expensive for what was maybe three ounces of guacamole. However, the atmosphere is nice, the service was quick, and they aren't too busy at peak hours. Decent for a quick bite or a couple of drinks with friends, but there are better options for Mexican in the neighborhood in terms of food and service. read more

I came into this restaurant a couple weeks ago. Probably the worst Mexican food I have ever had. Plus, there was a hair in my rice. Karla (the owner) did absolutely nothing but curse at me because and told me to never come back again. This doesn't even deserve a star. As you can see the owner answered this review as well as a couple others by criticizing her customers. Not the type of environment I would want to be in. If you like rude restaurant owners with pubic hair rice. Then this is your place! read more

This place is disgusting. DO NOT come here. The worst customer service I've ever seen. The food is extremely low quality. Took longer than what it should've. The young girl named 'Majo' taking orders wanted my friend who was with me and came eating a yogurt to leave because of that while I was making business and paid way to much for what I ordered. Very overpriced. He could drink his juice but not finish his yogurt because it wasn't bought here.... Which makes no sense at all. I guess this is why this place was dead empty and I was the only customer here. read more

i've eaten @ la lupe at least three times in the past few weeks and i've fallen in love with the shrimp tacos. the decor of the place is super cool, and the drinks are moderately priced considering the location. overall, la lupe is awesome - will definitely be back for my usual tacos and coca cola. ps. the clapbacks from the owner on here are HILARIOUSLY awesome, and what actually prompted me to review - so NYC of you, Karla M. read more

Been going for a year now and I love this place. Staff is friendly drinks and food are on point every time.

The shrimp and fish tacos are bomb, but a bit pricey. Elote is good too, but the delivery is what turned me off. Delivery guy asked for more tip. Tf?? I'm not giving a 50% delivery tip. GTFO. Get a new delivery guy. read more

I'll start this one "dear food critic", as Karla (the owner) starts all of her responses- The food was so so, but bland. The decor was adorable, but the service severely lacking. I don't understand why I'm pushed to tip when I'm not actually being served. You can say what you want regarding tipping the back of the house, but the optional tip jar is sufficient. If I'm grabbing my own food and bussing my own table, I shouldn't be adding a service gratuity. Here's a thought from someone in the service industry- Instead of attacking your critics, maybe you should focus on how to utilize said criticism to improve your establishment. We can all learn from customer experience read more

Billy and I visited this place on Friday night. It had been a long day at work and we just wanted some solid margaritas for Cinco de Mayo. This place... delivered. Solid, yummy margaritas. I wasn't looking to be blown away and I wasn't, but they were just good. It's definitely a place I'll go another time especially when I'm shopping at Mr. Kiwi's and just want a taco or a marg. read more

Really wanted to like this place. The atmosphere was nice, the bar was beautiful. The food was okay, i would even say good, but the service was lacking. in general the way you get your food/drinks is a little confusing. it would be a lot smoother if they gave you numbers for your tables so you know when your food is in the window, instead of shouting out "chicken tostadada?" or "mike?", they could call a number. The bartender was rushing to make drinks and bring them to people while still serving those at the bar. Not sure how to remedy that, but when we went up to the bar to ask about our drink, she was clearly stressed and replied "I'M MAKING IT, I'll bring it to you". Sorry for asking. Our drinks were served in tiny jars, which is why they were cheap. The margaritas looked enormous- should have gotten that. read more

The staff was soooo accommodating! The margarita was on point and the food is amazing and authentic!!!!!
