It's white washed not really Mexican food. Think of Taco Bell opening a sit down restaurant. We ordered a bunch of appetizers, and I ordered the carnitas plate. Everything was lacking in seasoning, the queso fundito, the guacamole, the sopapias and especially the carnitas had no flavor. I'm surprised that they are still in business. read more

The food is amazing but the service could be a bit better. The food came out hot and fast and was cooked perfectly. Our waiter didn't check on our table often which was quite upsetting since there wasn't very many tables (this is a small establishment). The seating area was extremely cramped as they have a small area to sit inside the building. If you go here I would suggest going during the summer time and sitting in their outside dining area. They serve amazing margaritas and if your not having a fun time they will definitely help your mood change after one of them. read more

Mediocre food. Slow inattentive service. Salsa was flavorless. Waiter was overwhelmed and lacked basic understanding of table service. Food came out with missing entrees. It would've been 4 1/2 if I could do it and I didn't go for five because the kitchen is very slow for lunch. Make sure you go on your day off ! The service was great this guy was hilarious ! I added cheese to my skinny Tilapia and he said, 'Now You took out the skinny !' I thought it was funny ! I don't generally order fish at a restaurant unless it's a seafood restaurant, but the Tilapia was amazing here ! Maybe it's the chef of the day, I don't know, I've never been here before. We a party of six arrived at 2;31 pm and checked in . We were told it was a 20-25 minute wait, at 2;55 pm checked on our table and they sat us at a big booth. It was a small wait but then waitress took drink and food order. I head to ask for Guacamole salad which arrived warm not normally cold or room temp, but warm. Then It took until 3:58 pm for us to get food and some of it was not hot but lukewarm. Food was okay but not as great as reviews stated. Prices were average for food but drinks were $3.99 for soda and tea. We were not impressed about whole experience. Finally left around 5:30. It's not a terrible place to eat at but I think my expectations were very high due to how much people rave about this place. The salsa is pretty standard with very little kick to it. Amazing green chili! The 12 inch burrito is enough for 2! The Chimmy is crisp with the perfect blend of fillings smothered in choice of mild, medium or hot green chili. Unlimited chips and salsa and never ending soft drink refills. Price is reasonable for serving sizes. Also choices on creating 2,3 or 4 combo choices. Tricky access off Hwy 85 and Bridge St. Go North on Main to 1st left then 1st left for lower level access. Love the outside dining area! read more

Best Mexican food hands down. It's been very tough to find an authentic place. My fiancée and I came here while we were staying in Hudson. We will definitely be back next time we're in Hudson. We might even drive out of our way. It was Friday night at they were packed! Estimated wait time Was 35-40 mins. We were seated in 24. Our go To meals are shrimp fajitas and taquitos. These were the best ones I've had. I don't like mine stuffed with cheese which is how they've been in the past. They didn't do that here which was great. Also the chicken was fresh, moist and flavorful. Not dried out like a lot of other places. The menus are huge and the prices are pretty low compared to other places. My only qualm is that my platter didn't come with rice or beans but that's because it was an appetizer. You can really tell that this place sticks to their traditional family meals and secret recipes. There's something about a restaurant like this that makes the food taste better. Don't get me wrong I've eaten at a lot of Mexican restaurants but most of them have been "chain" restaurants. As soon as your seated here your greeted with a friendly hello and hot basket of chips and homemade salsa. One thing that is pretty telling is that the food makes bomb leftovers too. I never eat my left overs because it isn't as good the second day but I ate my leftovers for breakfast and I enjoyed it. I also did not experience any stomach upsets or discomfort. Something that happens to me quite often at Mexican restaurants. Not the case here. They cook their food well and don't overload it with grease. Thank you La Estrallita. The food is delicious. I am not sure which is my favorite, but Gina and the carnitas burrito are right up there. What really makes this place special to me is Jason. What a waiter. I am getting close to being empty on my drink and magically a new one shows up. I am running low on chips and salsa and he appears and fills it. He is fun, sarcastic and his service is top of the line. If you are an uptight person, he may not be for you as you probably cannot get over yourself, but for the rest of us 99%, his humor, kidding, joking and warmth very much add the experience. This is my first time here and I was told that it is usually busy. Our wait time was 30 mins for a Tuesday night. You may need to make reservations. But the wait was worth it. I had the carne asada plate. The good-sized skirt steak was tasty and tender. The rice was flavorful, tastier than other spanish rice I have tried. It's like they used a seasoned broth to cook the rice in. The beans were also really yummy, not just your regular beans. There was a touch of something more. I really liked that the sides were prepared with care as much as the main part. My friends liked their dishes as well (they have liked their meals on previous occasions) which included the enchilada dish. The server was sassy in a funny way and our meals came as ordered. They have a main dining room and a smaller room where you can have birthday and other larger gatherings. There is a large parking lot across the way. read more

The building is huge so the wait is usually fairly quick but on the weekends a call ahead would be wise, as they are very popular.
