I have this affinity for small family Mexican Restaurants. Los Jimadores fits that bill. Firstly, the waitress we had was very friendly and delightful. When I asked her for opinion for the Birria tacos vs. the Sonoran Tacos, she said I picked to the two favorite things not the menu and she couldn't decide. But I am getting ahead of myself. Firstly, the chips and salsa. They really set the mood for the meal, although not having them is something I can live with if the meal is extraordinary. Los Jimadores has chips and salsa - and they add a kicker. Mexican slaw. A vinegar based slaw with a spicy kick. This was one of the better ones I had. The salsa was good and chunky, but we agreed it was a little sweet. The chips are the flaky crispy kind. We also ordered the house margarita. I was prepared to be disappointed because their drink menu was filled with those sugary 'tropical' drinks that were more popular 15 years ago. Their tequila menu is a bit lacking. But the house margarita was good, not too sweet and had that familiar feeling. I decided on the Sonoran Tacos. They had strip steak, a roasted Anaheim Pepper and a grilled Mexican cheese. They also came with a very good, very spicy salsa. The roasted peppers and the salsa made this dish. My wife had the carnitas, because she has been on a carnitas kick as of late. They were moist and crispy on the outside with a good green chili on top. If I had to find fault, it would the salsa with the chips and the tequila selection. The salsa with the Sonoran Tacos was fabulous - but I get that there is probably a cost difference. And the menu is a bit long. But if I am in the area, I will be back. And I will order the Birria Tacos. They looked really good being brought to a table next to ours.

Friends took us to Los Jimadores this past Sunday and wasn't disappointed. Some people might call this place a hole in the wall, but if it is the food is still very good. If you're looking for something fancy this isn't it. A good meal is what you get here. The shrimp tacos were really good on homemade flour tortillas. My dining companions all took their meals home since it was so much food on the plate. The meals were packed with flavor. The margaritas were really good and if you have two make sure you have a driver that's not drinking. My final comment is regarding the service. Pamela (Pam) was our waitress. She alone is a reason to come to Los Jimadores. She's a super waitress and full of sass in a good way!

The second I walked in the door I knew this was the place to be! The restaurant was very busy for being so early in the evening. We were quickly greeted by a very friendly hostess, and we were seated promptly. Our waitress was very attentive, and she always had a smile on her face. Now, for the food part... The menu reads like a novel; it has absolutely everything imaginable. Fresh tortilla chips, salsa, and a Mexican slaw were placed on the table. We ordered house margaritas which were on point, and they were huge! The main courses were beyond plentiful and exploded with flavor. There were three of us dining, and we ordered: chicken quesadilla, chile relleno, platter, and carnitas platter. UNREAL! Can't wait to return!!!

Delicious food with generous portions. Service was amazing. Be sure to try the Sopapillas! Fluffy light perfection. It was a wonderful birthday party!

    Enchilada and soft taco

First time at this place and it was pretty empty for a Friday night I understand being understaffed and being busy but they weren't so I was confused a little on why our service was slow the waitress seemed kinda annoyed taking our order. The food on the other hand was delicious props to the cook! The water was nasty. But the pepino margarita I got was good my friend got a mojito and it was good as well!

I found this place by driving around the area couple of times and was blown how much traffic it gets. Finally decided to try it myself to see what it was about and was HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. To start my fiancé and I wanted a beer but what we wanted they were out. The food was not appetizing at all, the rice looked like it was reheated, beans were dry and unsalted. The meat (shredded beef) was nothing but fat. I don't know what the hype is but this place is disgusting. My fiancé ordered ceviche, the shrimp had pieces of peel on it and he had to squeeze his own lime on it and seasoning on it (s&p). Don't let the 5+ reviews and traffic fool you.

    Queso

I don't leave reviews, however when I sit down to dinner and find rodent droppings on the table you can be damn sure there will be a review. The chips were stale, the salsa was flavorless, the queso was literally melted string cheese, the food was bland and DRIPPING with oil. Definitely not worth the $75. I only gave 1 star because it won't let me give no stars. People were nice, food was horrible.

Hair in the homemade tortillas for the Sonora tacos, food for the table came out at different times, some food never came at all.

When looking at the menu, the prices were outrageous, but thought the food must be really good! The restaurant doors were locked when we arrived around 11:30, even though their website said they opened at 10:00. I like to support local restaurants but this one was horribly disappointing! We were the only customers in the restaurant and service was extremely slow. There was only one employee we saw, the one who unlocked the door for us and turned out to be our waitress. She was polite, but very slow in getting our drink order, food order, and ticket. I could have understood understaffing, but as mentioned, we were the only customers in the place. When our food came, I was almost embarrassed for our waitress. The food hardly filled our plates. I ordered a chicken dish where the chicken breast had been split in half. It was tough and hard to cut and and chew. It was maybe the size of a small burger, very small and about 1/4 of an inch thick! According to the menu description, it was supposed to be marinated. It tasted like the "marinade" was ketchup mixed with a little Tabasco. Other plates were very skimpy on food. Burritos and enchiladas were small and almost almost laid flat on the plates. I guess I could deal with it better if the cost was about ¼ of the price we paid. No drinks for 4 totaled, with tip, around $80.00!! Will never go to this place again! I typically don't do reviews but this experience was completely "over the top" bad in all areas. We all left feeling cheated, and hungry! Don't waste your money here!

The large seating area is clean, and the ordering area is modern, with large menu screens. The food is formatted so that you select your protein variation and then a presentation, which could be a quesadilla, nachos, taco, sandwich, or bowl. If you really want more, you can select a side dish. We decided to try pork nachos and a birria quesadilla. The service was top-notch, and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately, it was a big letdown. $15 nachos had very little pork but lots of convenience store nacho cheese sauce, which was not at all what I expected. They also were missing a mess of normal nacho toppings, and those that were on it were scarce. More than half the chips were dry. The quesadilla was unremarkable. The cheese used was not high quality, and it seemed average at best. Overall, I am disappointed as I would have loved to have found another option in Brighton. With the fun atmosphere and lots of TV, it would have been a good place to grab a bite, a beer, and watch the game or meet with friends. Hopefully, they get it dialed in or lower their prices to reflect the actual product.

That being said this being food truck, I still had to pay with a leg and half an arm for simple food to go, $17 an item. Simple service and not much else besides a snack. Food choices were chicken, pork or veggie. Bowl, tacos or quesadilla. We opted for a chicken bowl and pork tacos. Chicken bowl was small, basic, and topped with geen Chile's not really a a green chile. Food had an interesting citrus profile topped with cabbage, not a slaw. The pork tacos were a better of the two, being full of flavor and moist but drenching the single corn tortilla it was served in. By the end of the first taco, the other two were falling apart. Tacos were topped with cabbage again but all together, a very small portion filling for the tortilla being used. Overall food was edible. Not a coleslaw like labeled. Green chile was in fact just diced up green chile almost canned like. Small portions for the amount of paid. Would eat if I was hungry enough.
