Came here late night on a Monday and it was surprisingly still very busy. The interior was beautiful, a lovely place to bring someone for a special date or event. We started off with the Bánh Xèo - crispy, tangy, and you can taste the chili peppers in the sauce. It's a big starter as an appetizer, since what we ordered next were not light. . I got the Bún bò Huế and my friend got the Bún Riêu. The broth of my bowl was so good. I almost ate it all but I did end up having the remainder for lunch the next day. The one pork knuckle it contained didn't go to waste and glad I brought it home.

I came to La Dong with a friend for dinner and we had a great time! We got a reservation, and when we checked in, we were immediately seated. Inside is tight with ample seating and street-like decor. It is noisy inside though! Service was super consistent and kind! The food came out not even five minutes after we ordered, and I got the Dry Pho Beef. This dish was more similar to Hu Tieu then it is to pho, but I love Hu Tieu so it was a plus in my book. The noodles were cooked well and the sauce was tangy, savory, and sweet. The beef was overall okay---some pieces more dry than others. It was a decent serving for the price, it kept me satisfied. Overall, I had a good time!

Fried chicken wings have fishy flavor and are thickly breaded, and also split in half! I'm suspicious of if you get less chicken wings as a result, but at least it's easier to eat them clean. The pho hanoi is actually not very Hanoi-style (usually northern is cleaner) - strong flavor but on the sweeter side.

Wonderful viet meal! Our waitress was attentive and very friendly. Loved the vibe and decor inside. Steamed rice cakes were a tasty starter but the sautéed mussels were even better. The mussels were huge and in a delicious sticky sauce. The dough that accompanied it was a great vessel for the sauce. I got the fried branzino for my entree and ate the whole thing, the fish was so crispy and moist and flavorful. The fresh herbs and lettuce really cut through the richer fish. Would definitely come back to the more of the menu!

All of the food was good but I was surprised how similar this food was to typical Thai restaurants in the city (maybe a regional difference). For appetizers, we ordered the pomelo salad and the shrimp crepe dish. They both had something like a fried shallot on them which I think overpowered the 2 dishes and made the flavor profiles pretty similar. The fried branzino and short rib yellow curry both tasty. I'm intrigued to come back to try the pho, which seemed to be what most others were ordering

Stopped by La Dong for dinner and had a nice experience overall. We ordered the Pho Ha Noi, pork chop and spring rolls. The pho was delicious and full of flavor, although I wish it had been served a bit hotter in temperature. The pork chop was tasty but on the sweeter side for my preference. Overall, it's a great trendy spot with a fun atmosphere and worth checking out if you're in the area.

Really really delicious food and excellently decorated interior. Great dining experience overall. Food also came out pretty quickly which was nice, because we were hungry. We were a walk-in party of 5 on a Sunday and seated within 30 minutes so I'm pretty happy with that timing. All the dishes were flavorful. The pho (not pictured) was standard -- I'd skip it. Everything was a little on the sweet side but I loved the bread on the banh mi (crunchy exterior, soft and fluffy on the inside) and the pomelo salad and duck were also standouts. Would definitely recommend, and will probably come back if I'm in the mood for Vietnamese food

Very cute spot, it was tight in there tables on top of each other, but other than that I enjoyed my meal. It was a rainy evening in NYC and it was the perfect time for pho I was sleepy while eating lol because I worked all day in the salon. But I loved my meal I was full to the point I couldn't eat anymore, I will definitely return to the spot also customer service was cute. We went during prime time so it was super busy in there

First of all, the aesthetics in here is so elegant with modern traditions. I came for dinner with a friend. Be sure to make reservations as the is spot gets busy; or you can try walk-in for a bar seat. We started off with the Banh Xeo ($18), which is perfect to share with two people. You can get about 4 wraps, which is crunchy and refreshing. For the mains, we also shared the Bun Bo Hue ($26) and Pork Chop Rice Platter ($26). The dishes are a good portion and come with a variety of ingredients. Overall, the food is a bit pricey as this is an elevated Vietnamese spot. Nonetheless, everything was delicious and I would return to try their other dishes.

La Dong is a fun place decorated and service staffs were welcoming and prompt to order. Salad was refreshing and i liked the rice crackers in every other dish as pairing. Coconut salty coffee was quite sweet than tasting anything salt. The bathroom style with the sink outside for the one stall and handicapped friendly for the other was a good touch with the vacant/in use mechanism. Bun rieu was an interesting try the crab ball was mixed with fried egg style and the fried tofu was actually my fav instead. I had the noodle soup once before on 3rd avenue and i liked it there better. Pomelo salad had 2 good size big shrimps on the bottom! Pork chop was on sweeter and grilled tender, papaya salad was spicy but refreshing do miss a lil tang from our palate. The mushroom was really good for the sides and the lighting was really vibe dark.

La Dong is a truly beautiful place once you step inside. You don't expect much from looking at the outside, but the second you walk in, you are met with the beautiful, vibrant hues of Vietnam. It's literally quite stunning inside and the staff were great. Very polite and attentive. As for the main topic of food, everything we had was delicious. My favorite standout dish probably has to be the Vietnamese fried chicken wings. Absolutely a fan favorite for me :) 10/10 would recommend! The other Vietnamese food we had was also very delicious and the lunch menu is really good for the price. I ended up having the pork rice platter and it was only $18, but I had so much leftover food to take home with me. I loved knowing that they didn't skimp out on food and thought the portioning was great. I've eaten at this place twice throughout my time in NYC.

Beautiful interior and nice location. We actually missed our RSVP 15-min window by one minute but they were still able to seat us. The drinks are delicious. The banana one is sweet and aromatic. The pate appetizer is really simple. Very creamy and buttery texture but I do wish it was more salted at least. The bun cha is so delicious. Worth coming back for alone. The rice dish is yummy as well, but compared to the bun cha, it does feel a little lackluster. Be warned though--it's a nice, huge serving size!

Great Vietnamese place near Union Square! Great ambiance and very attentive service... I didn't try the pho due to the numerous appetizers we sampled first before dinner Price wasn't too bad for the City - will definitely be back again :-)

I liked how they organized the menu by country/geography to facilitate an understanding of the flavor profiles. I got two of the date & fig-flavored smoked whisky drinks and it was a well made, balanced, and very good. Not cheap at some $25 or something, but middle of Manhattan with some creative ingredients means I guess it is what it is. Servers seemed a bit annoyed to have to deal with us shortly before close as I think they were hoping to usher people out and close down maybe a little early. The unmarked entrance and doorbell immediately set the tone, and once inside it feels like you stepped out of Manhattan and into a dark, old New York cocktail lounge. The velvet seating, curtains, low lighting, and little private nooks make the whole place feel intimate without being gimmicky. That atmosphere is very much intentional. The Chelsea location is the original Raines Law Room and is built around that hidden speakeasy experience. The cocktails were beautifully presented, and I liked that this felt like a place where you could actually sit with friends and have a conversation rather than compete with loud music. We also ordered some meat, cheese, olives, and crackers for the table, which was perfect alongside the drinks without turning the night into a full dinner. What stood out most to me was how cohesive everything felt. The drinks, glassware, lighting, service style, and decor all fit the same mood. It feels refined and special without trying too hard. Pay special attention to the bathroom wall art. Definitely not an inexpensive night out, but for a true New York cocktail bar experience, I thought Raines Law Room was absolutely worth visiting. This would be especially good for a date night or drinks with a small group.
