We headed here just before lunchtime opening to see if there was availability. Lo and behold, Chef Philippe was sitting in the front with the staff for a last minute smoke break before opening. He was able to set us up with a table for 6 right then and there! We were very lucky as we had heard it was difficult to get a table without a reservation here Had heard great things about this place and expectations were met. We all went with the 3 course price fixe meal Very reasonably priced for the 6th Arrondissement eateries. We only had one fluent French speaker amongst us, but the staff graciously accommodated our limited French. Service was quick and friendly and the place filled up very quickly . Lobster bisque soufflé, filet de turbo, and especially the dark chocolate / chocolate noire soufflé were very well prepared and very much enjoyed! Others at the table enjoyed their Crème brûlée for dessert , as well as all the fresh vegetables with the dishes. Chef Philippe came out to chat with our table a bit, which was quite kind. Definitely would recommend a meal here to any families, larger parties.

3 Course Lunch €33 The entree (American appetizer) was the lobster and crab soufflé. The main dish was the angus beef hanger steak in crushed pepper and cognac sauce. The dessert was chocolate soufflé. The server kindly let us split a 3 course between two people. We were still really full from breakfast. But I wanted to try the traditional French soufflé. So we came here anyway. So glad that we found this little hidden gem. The lobster bisque with fresh crab and tarragon soufflé was such a warm and fluffy dish. Made me fell in love with savory soufflés. (I usually prefer sweet ones.) It was just so light and airy. There was also big chunks of lobster and crab meats in the middle. Every spoon was just delightful. The angus beef hanger steak with cognac was was really tender. They even split the steak into two plates for us. To be honest, it wasn't the most memorable dish for this meal. The soufflé was too good. The chocolate soufflé was super decadent, crispy putter layer filled with oozy soft chocolate goodness fillings. We devoured it with so much joy. In the end, the chef came out and asked us about the food. He was really nice and friendly. This was one of my favorite meal in Paris. Thank you for being so awesome!

Holy moly this place is a gem that I accidentally stumbled upon via a lime scooter in sep 2018. I was able to bring my parents later that week and they enjoyed the food so much they didn't bother to talk to me or each other during the meal. I had a terrible migraine during appetizer which lead me to not be able to eat after that. I felt so terrible because Chef Philippe thought I didn't like the food... no way! I hope to return again and enjoy the amazing creations of this place once covid ends. Reservations via phone or email are highly recommended.

What an amazingly charming and wonderful restaurant. It has a very friendly staff that patiently allowed me to struggle thru my rudimentary French. (Don't worry, they do speak English as well and have English subtitles on their menus). Fortunately I arrived as they opened as it was clear that this was a popular place as it filled with people with reservations. A lot of locals clearly know about this gem. For roughly €43 I enjoyed an appetizer, a main course, and of course dessert. The owner/chef Philippe even came out to greet the early guests. Everything I had was top notch from the lobster bisque with crab soufflé to the still sizzling duck potato pie to the soufflé aux Grand Marnier. I had many wonderful meals in Paris but this may be the best meal I had my entire trip. That is saying something.

This restaurant was a delight. I went here for a work dinner because some colleagues had visited and said great things about the lobster soufflé. I had that for my meal and really enjoyed it. For dessert, I had the raspberry soufflé and it was fantastic. What I really liked about this restaurant was how Philippe, the chef, came to our table and checked in on our group personally. Very nice touch!

We came here for lunch and the cozy restaurant filled up very quickly, mostly with locals. There are two options, either 2 course or 3-course prix fixe, starter, entree and/or dessert. The prix-fixe menu also includes a glass of wine. I ordered the lobster, crab soufflé to start and the Grand Mariner soufflé for dessert. Both were so light and delicious! Others in my party ordered the cottage pie of duck for the entree. It was similar to Shepherd's pie but instead of ground lamb, it's mashed potatoes with duck. I could smell all the butter emanating from the mashed potatoes. If I could eat more at lunch, I would definitely order this next time. The other soufflés we tried were the chocolate and rhubarb, really can't go wrong with any of them! Service is super friendly and the owner came out twice to greet us. I have to agree with the others, these are among the best soufflés ever! What a hidde gem near the Jardin du Luxembourg. Next time, I'm in Paris, I will definitely be going again.

Overall, fantastic experience from beginning to end! The place is cozy & romantic without being pretentious. The food was divine! The chef comes out and greets every table. My husband & I had a memorable evening here. Will never forget it.

I walk by this place everyday and finally got to try it a year later!! I have heard raving reviews about their soufflé so I had to try it. They have two options for dinner which is 40€ for starter, main, and dessert or 35€ for main and starter OR main and dessert. They have monthly wines of the month for 4€. (I wish they have a starter and dessert only option, read why below) My boyfriend and I made reservations the night before (not necessary to book too much in advance, they are popular but not that popular). This place could sadly easily be three stars because I found my main dish to be awful. Let me tell you about the whole meal. We were seated promptly at 7:30 pm and given our menus. It took about ten minutes for the two person team to come back and take our order. You order your whole meal at once so we got the lobster soufflé and cheese soufflé to start with a glass of their monthly white. I found the lobster soufflé a little too salty for my liking. They also bring you bread so with every bite of the lobster, I took a whole bread. The texture of the soufflé was, however, amazing. The cheese soufflé was basic but delicious. Our mains were so disappointing. We both got the peppered steak and we both asked for it well done, mine extra extra well. The sight of blood makes me cringe. I know it's considered a crime to eat steak that way here but I can't, I'm sorry. My steak came out bloody!! Also the pepper sauce had a weird smell to it. It came with side of potatoes which was amazing and a weird mousse of mushroom that I didn't touch. Now desserts was phenomenal. We got the dark chocolate soufflé and the pistachio and chocolate soufflé. We asked for a glass of cold milk and they charged us 3€ which we found absurdly expensive. The desserts were not too sweet but just perfect. So all in all, our meal came out to be 95€. Would I eat here again? No. Do I regret eating here? Not at all. They made sure our water was refilled constantly and our desserts were amazing. No one does soufflé like them so four stars!!

Excellent meal... to-die-for. Best place if you love Soufflé. Price was reasonable. Wonderful and very friendly service.

Though we came here late, we were able to order and eat. My party of four was there past closing and even got to meet the chef. We each ordered the set meal and tried everything between us. The souffles are delicious (especially the sweet ones) and I'll forever love the creme brulee I ordered here. Lovely crackle of sugar and creamy egg custard. Side note, if you have your phone out, one of the guys will automatically give you the WiFi password without you asking (at least that's what happened for us).

Philippe's is our favorite place in Paris - great soufflés and reasonably priced. The three-course lunch has soufflés for appetizer and dessert so you could have your pick or have both. They are consistently great.

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

When I arrived, there was a rustic table in the entry room where I was seated. I ordered an entrée of mini mushroom raviolis in truffle sauce, a plat of scallops over orzo which had chorizo chunks and a dessert of frozen Grand Marnier soufflé. The portions were generous. I enjoyed the mini mushroom raviolis and delicious Grand Marnier soufflé. The plat was somewhat odd because the chorizo chunks were really strong flavored which overpowered the scallops. I ate one chorizo chunk and pushed the rest aside. The scallops were cooked perfectly but not seasoned. The service was gruff/quite brief with dishes dropped by assistants. My biggest complaint was the stressful ambiance during the meal. It was freezing outside. The door constantly opened and new patrons came in hovering over diners in my room. Luckily I was not closer to the door and didn't have anyone over me. For ~170 Euros, the food was good but the experience was not.
