another reason to keep coming here. The ricotta toast. Yup - simple yet so flavorful. Today, the front door was propped open. And just that small change made for a more welcoming space. Service was impeccable as always. Watched the care taken for a hot chocolate creation (with dark chocolate) - delicioso!!! A couple breakfast tacos and concha. Perfect!

My family loves La costas food and drinks. The breakfast tacos, tamales, avocado toast and pastries are absolutely amazing. The matcha and coffee are always tasty! The service is always very fast just wish the employees were a little more welcoming and friendly. I love the ambiance and decor of the cafe. It's a beautiful space with indoor and outdoor dining options.

I popped into La Casa after visiting my friends at the healing touch chiropractic. It was about 10:10 AM this past Saturday and it was crackin! I knew that I wanted to get a concha and then I wasn't sure if I was gonna go with a Matcha or a black coffee but due to an appointment I had I just grabbed a quick drip and it was delicious . Black sesame and vanilla concha: This hit all the feels from the taste that it was supremely fresh, to the perfect balance of vanilla and black sesame, and just melt in your mouth Mexican baked goodness. I can't wait to go back to try the Matcha in the food selection! Visit this local gem! It's also very people and dog friendly so you can totally get a good vibe there!.

The matcha, cornbread, and latte was excellent. But the food was just ok to me. We got the breakfast tacos, and tamales. Unfortunately they don't allow any adjustments to their items, so I couldn't order the items I wanted such as Chilaquiles and the Torta. They only do soft boiled eggs on their chilaquiles which is not my preference, I like my eggs runny normally. The place is beautiful, well designed and the outdoor seating was a nice option, mix of shade & sunny spots.

Swung by La Costa Cafe and grabbed breakfast to go, my first visit after hearing plenty of good things. The cashier whose also name was James was a super nice guy. Even in takeout mode, the cafe made a strong first impression. The iced matcha latte was a clear standout and easily one of the best I've had. Creamy with a vibrant green tea flavor, perfectly balanced and not overly sweet, which is exactly how matcha should be in my opinion. I also ordered the chilaquiles to go. Presentation took a hit after the journey in the box, but the flavor absolutely held up. The tortilla chips were still impressively crunchy, and the salsa verde brought real heat and brightness, instantly waking up my taste buds in the morning. The black beans were a smart, grounding addition, helping balance the spice and round out the dish. Overall, La Costa Cafe lives up to the praise. I'd highly recommend it, and next time I'll be sitting in, hanging out a little longer, and working my way through more of the menu.

Has indoor and outdoor seating, fast service, dog friendly, and they use fresh ingredients! Elote corn bread is fantastic. My chai was delicious too! Only bummer is that it can be hard to find parking in this area.

Had a lovely brunch here! I tried the chilaquiles, and it was a really tasty dish--well-flavored with crispy tortillas and a green salsa that was just delicious. The portion was generous enough to share, depending on your appetite. I also had a cappuccino that was perfect. The cafe itself is cozy, with limited seating, and it gets busy on weekends, but visiting on a weekday made it really pleasant. The food came out quickly, and the cashier was super friendly. Overall, a great spot--we'll definitely be coming back!

The food here is amazing. I didn't try the drinks but service was friendly and pretty quick even on a busy Sunday. If you're dining in it's self seating and you order first (: I really enjoyed it! Lots of outdoor seating as well. Definitely will be back

This review is based on drinks and not food. I definitely want to come back and try out their food. It's been a while since I've been to La costa, it used to be one of my favorite places for matcha. Decided to try it again today and the matcha tasted super milky, with barely any taste of matcha. I usually get it with oat, but today I got it with regular milk so it tastes different. Sadly I won't be coming here for matcha anymore as there are better options around. As for their hibiscus aqua fresca, it was good, but so sour making it hard to drink. Not sure why this time around the drinks are decreasing in quality. I will definitely be back to try again another less busy day. It was also extremely hot in the cafe today. The line was long and took a while to get to the cashier, but afterwards we got our drinks fast.

La Costa's Matcha & Chilaques are unmatched in Sacramento. Inside is fun, staff is friendly, and the experience overall is just great.

I've lived near La Costa for the better part of a year and have yet to try their food. I've had their matcha before and was impressed with how tasty it is (granted, I don't know much about matcha, just that it's blown up in popularity lately). There's usually a long, consistent line at La Costa on weekends, with people eating, studying, and drinking their matchas inside and outside. The shop itself has a clean, minimalist aesthetic and sits in a great part of downtown (I might be biased since I live nearby), but it really is a nice area for a walk. It does get crowded, though; there's almost always a full house and a line out the door, so dining in can feel a bit cramped. If there's space, I would try to sit outside. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and in my experience, the drinks come out quickly. Today, though, it was finally time to try their food. Honestly, my expectations were low: cafés aren't usually known for great meals, but the Mexican twist on the menu had always caught my eye. That said, the prices might put some people off (myself included), which is probably why I waited so long to give it a shot. But I have to admit that I was wrong to judge. La Costa is serving some genuinely great food that's far beyond what you'd expect from a coffee shop. I assumed it would be overpriced, white-washed "Mexican-inspired" dishes, but I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered three dishes to share: the chilaquiles, wild mushroom toast, and pan de elote, which came to about $42. That might sound steep for toast, a pastry, and a main dish, but both of us left feeling full and even had to take some pan de elote home. Considering how satisfied we were, $21 a head feels totally fair. Don't judge a book by its cover. The mushroom toast looks simple, but it's quite special, a mix of fresh, sautéed mushrooms. The whipped feta really elevates the flavor and adds a wow factor. It's a real treat and a nice change from the usual avocado toast (which they also offer). The chilaquiles were solid, topped with a spicy salsa verde, and everything tasted fresh. I wouldn't call them groundbreaking, but they were definitely on par with other good spots. I actually liked the soft-boiled egg on top, which is a fun twist compared to the usual sunny-side or fried egg. Lastly, the pan de elote was a standout. If you've ever had the cornbread or corn pudding at Chevy's, it reminded me of that: sweet, crumbly, yet moist and perfectly held together. It was delicious, especially dipped in the leftover salsa verde. I also noticed a La Esperanza truck delivering products while I was there, which is a great sign. La Esperanza has fantastic, authentic Mexican ingredients. Sorry, I misjudged you for so long, La Costa. You're definitely more than just your matcha.

ohhhh love it here! was very surprised by the quality of the food. cafes can be hit or miss when it comes to food. the avocado toast was to die for and it filled my craving perfectly. i also had a side of the chicharrones and a small horchata. both delicious. service is friendly and quick, lots of seating space (it can get filled fast). i was able to sit in peace and do some work on my laptop. my only thing is that by the window, there was a bit of a bug problem. they looked like ants or gnats. other than that, i would come back!

We decided that we were just going to order a variety of tapas and share them, which is exactly why I picked this restaurant. All in all, we ended up ordering the croquettes, the garlic shrimp, the empanadas of the day (which were potato and cheese), the patatas bravas, and a pork dish that I don't remember the name. From the moment we walked in the gorgeous decor, authentic touches, and vaulted ceilings just made you feel like you were in a beautifully curated space. It's hard to resist chips and salsa, but these chips were probably the thinnest and crispy chips I've ever had! They were accompanied by a choice between red and green salsa. I didn't try the green today, but the red was very tasty, without the heat. Our server was incredibly good at her job! Quick and personable. Three of us had the potato tacos, I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but the way this dish was described on the menu. I had to try it.. and it was just as delicious as it sounded. I decided to do a side salad instead of the beans and rice and that also was a 10 out of 10. They heard that we were there for an employee appreciation lunch so they pulled out what's called "the celebration" I won't ruin the surprise, but if you go, they do this celebration for any occasion! They made us feel very welcomed very at home and the whole experience was very lovely. I'd also like to include GORGEOUS BATHROOMS. Have you ever gone to dine out and been having a great time, had to use the restroom and it was such a terrible experience that's ruined your visit?
