Staff at both locations are exceptional and so kind. My fav dishes here are the French toast, apple sausage (SOOO GOOD, You must get it), pancakes, potatoes (also really good), coffee blueberry muffin, all their pastries really and the soup with the meatballs (I forget the name). Honestly, I think everything is good here. Love this place, we find every excuse to come here. Highly recommended.

Our total came to just under $200, and we were happy with the quality of the meal. When the bill arrived, there was a large QR code printed on the receipt instructing guests to pay by phone. We used that option and completed the payment before leaving. We also lingered at the table for a bit afterward -- I was putting on my coat and we were in no rush -- and at no point were we given any indication that there was an issue with the payment. However, as we were walking to our car, the waiter and busser came outside looking for us, believing we had not paid. From the parking lot, I could see them searching and had my husband walk back to clarify. The situation was resolved quickly and the server apologized, but it was uncomfortable and embarrassing. Especially after using the payment method they provided. I understand that technical delays can happen, but I would recommend verifying payment status internally before approaching guests in that way. It unfortunately put a damper on an our dining experience and the rest of the night...

Everything is high quality and fresh for reasonable prices. Charming, cozy decor with Danish accents. Service is also excellent and warm. Quiche with Hollandaise Sauce - Light, buttery flaky crust, light, fluffy eggs. Absolutely delightful, leeks provided good texture. Came with a strip of bacon. Was so amazing hardly ate the sauce. Don't think you can sub salad for fries but no worries, as the breakfast potatoes were amazing. Many places offer breakfast potatoes but something seemingly simple is actually hard to make well. My friend's Bratwurst Sausage with Eggs, her favorite, was hearty and filling. A lot of indoor seating but we enjoyed our table outside, watching pedestrians on State St. and enjoying the beautiful scenery and architecture. We expected to wait to be seated but surprisingly it wasn't that busy. Order at counter and the food is brought to your table. As we waited, employee kindly gave us two free pastry samples, both delicious. All the baked goods I got to go I want again. Their scones are fabulous-slightly crunchy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. Their tea service which comes with champagne is pricey, I believe $75 per person. But interior is a perfect colorful and relaxed setting for tea. My tastebuds dream of coming back. Will be thrilled when I next indulge on their pastries and quiche.

There was only one person in line and 4 staff members behind the counter standing around talking to each other. Nobody greeted us or asked for our bakery order. When I said excuse me to a dirty blond girl she replied "WHAT!" and continued to joke with a co worker. When the cashier finished with their customer they walked away and even though they saw we were waiting to be helped. I looked around and saw nobody helping seated customers or us at the bakery counter. Finally, the dirty blonde ask what we need and my response was "WHAT" ?! At this point we should have left and gone to Lilac Patisserie however we proceeded to give her our order. I told another customer behind us that rudeness seems to be the norm, and she agreed. I paid for our bakery items and asked an older woman scrolling on her phone if we could have a bag for all of our boxed treats. She grabbed a handful of bags and threw them at me from across the counter. We were appalled and left. We found a place to sit on State street to eat our treats and my daughter said she didn't want her Meringue because the dirty blonde girl used the back of her ungloved hand to repeatedly wipe her nose. We threw all $50 worth of baked goods in the trash. Yes, I should have gone back and complained I'm had everything refunded but it was Mother's Day and we didn't want anything more to do with this establishment. It was also an epiphany that they don't treat everyone this way. It could be you next time. Please go somewhere else. We will never go to anywhere but Lilac Patisserie which is to the left as you exit Andersons, past the stop light. You will definitely get your money's worth and the staff is friendly, professional, and greet you immediately as you reach the counter.

We stopped in several shops, and then decided to stay for lunch, and decided since we were in Solvang, we ought to try to find a place that offered some authentic foods from the old country. After a bit of wandering, we came across The Bit O'Denmark, and it seemed to be just what we were looking for. I've lived overseas in Germany for a few years, and when I walked in I have to say the overall feel of the place was very European. Low, beamed ceilings, small tables with authentic feeling tablecloths, and divided into a couple of different dining rooms, it felt like I'd stepped across the Atlantic. The menu was straightforward, and offered a few things most americans would find familiar and appetizing. And then...there was a section specifically noted as authentic Danish dishes. Winning! I had the "Flaeskesteg," a roast pork stuffed with prunes, brown sauce, and apple sauce. It was accompanied by a sweet and sour red cabbage, cucumber salad, and roasted potatoes. It was wonderful. My palate was in heaven. I ate everything on the plate. They only had two beer choices, so I had the "Hoppy Poppy," an IPA, to go with it. The only way I could have been happier would have been some European import options. My beautiful lady had the "Bit O'Platter," which is three open-faced sandwiches: the Frikadeller, the Roast Pork, and the Danish Cheese. This turned out to be a wonderful choice; like three sandwiches in one! We were both splendidly surprised at the diversity and deliciousness of each one. And as luck would have it, we happened to be dining next to a mother and daughter who were speaking in a language I only understood about every 12th word of, due to my familiarity with German. I asked, and they said they were from Denmark. I asked about how authentic they found the meals to their home country, and they verified everything was quite authentic, although in their opinion, some of the pairings were a little odd. Well there you have it. If you're looking for something original, authentic, delicious, and memorable, put The Bit O'Denmark on your "Want to try," list. You'll thank me.

It's known for their Danish food, especially their frikkadeller. For me... I got a frikkadeller (Danish style meatballs) served with purple cabbage salad, and a choice of mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes. Got it with roasted potatoes. When I took a bite of that.... I must say this was delicious. The brown sauce for the meatballs was on point. It's not quite gravy though, but pretty good stuff. Roasted potatoes was real tasty, better than French fries... lol. Definitely will order that again the next time I come to Solvang. My dad ordered the piccata salmon. He said the salmon was sooo delicious. My step-mom and step-sister shared the prime rib beef sandwich and some fries. Sooo delicious. I didn't take the pic of the salmon though. Maybe next time. Service was pretty good. Overall.... If you into some Danish food. I highly recommend the frikkadeller. The best thing to get in Solvang, or even anywhere in Denmark, 5 stars.

When I heard Heritage had received a Michelin star, I jumped at the chance to take my family. They all loved it and it was a hit from start to finish. It is definitely won't it to hear reservation. The best part, everyone on staff is truly friendly, helpful and attentive. The dining room is a little bit dark. It's a small price to pay for the amazing food from tonight's dinner. The flavors continue to be creative, inventive, and unforgettable. I never thought I'd ever enjoy passion fruit and crudo together, but I'm a fan! The sea urchin toast intimidated me but was actually a perfect little bite. And dessert was a work of art.

Knowing that it's…read moredifficult to find parking we arrived early and circled around for 10 minutes, our friends thought there will be valet but none at front. The space was very small, intimate setting but frankly just noisy as ceiling was low and everything was hard finishes. We had to talk loud to hear each other. So as servers presented the dish, they were not talking loud enough and most of time we couldn't hear what they said the dishes were, it was simply not clear. The food, was decent, I would have given 3-4 star for the food. However, half way through the course, I told our server we are worried with this little amount of 7 dishes would not fill us, I'm worried we would be hungry. And I really have to warn everyone if you come hungry with an appetite, trust my review and other reviews on here that mentioned the same thing, it's NOT enough food! We had dined at many Michelin star and fine dining restaurants, if they have a set menu we know each plate has small portion with nice presentation, but they will have many more courses to fill us up. Heritage only has 7 dishes and that's including dessert, with this price you could just have included 1-2 dishes that would be better. We went home and immediately cooked ramen to eat, that shows you how unsatisfying this meal was. Now moving onto the service, you really need to train your waiters and waitresses! Both me and my friend went to restroom separate times, my frd went down the hallway and passed by 2 servers and no one acknowledged him. If you are at any fine dining restaurants, and you left your seat the server immediately knows you are looking for a restroom and will direct you. They completely ignored him and looked sideways, he ended up walking all the way to the back of the kitchen and was confused then the kitchen staff told him you missed it, it was midway thru the hallway. Moreover, the restroom sign was white sign on a white door, it's so easy to miss it! The same thing happened to me too, I was looking for restroom and standing next to the kitchen counter, no one acknowledged me and I had to get their attention to ask if this is a restroom with me pointing at the door. You get the idea how unobvious that sign was and how bad the service was. I'm talking about one star Michelin, definitely not worth it in our opinion. Finally, that's right, I'm not done yet. The space is horribly designed with ventilation. Mid-way through the course, it was smokey in the dining area and I had tears in my eyes and had to blink multiple times. Just fyi, our table was at the far end from the kitchen. I looked far into the kitchen, they only had one window half opened in the back and all the smoke smell was going into the dining area. All of us felt it but we didn't complain as we were trying our best to enjoy our time out. When we left and stepped into the car, I smelled the smoke on my jacket, on my inside shirt (I had the jacket on the whole time), and smoke all over my hair! As soon as we got home, we had to switch out all the clothes, cooked and ate the ramen, then jumped into shower and tossed all clothes in washer to get rid of the Smokey smell. Omg this place is horribly designed without adequate verification just really bad overall. If you still decide to go after reading this, for whatever reason, just make sure you have a full lunch of the day before dinner, know not to wear nice clothes (as you will need to dry clean them immediately), and understand the time required to circle around small streets endlessly to look for parking. I honestly want to give it 1 star Yelp review out of all the negative, but the additional 1 was for the chef that the food is decent. But again, do not recommend, take your date and celebrate the special moment elsewhere!

When booking, I had the option of dining , chef's table, or patio seating. I specifically chose the dining since my daughter loves creating content, and the indoor ambiance is absolutely beautiful for photos. The hostess seated us on the patio, and I mentioned that I had selected dining. I was told that seating is based on first availability, which was a little disappointing, especially since the restaurant is right on the water and by 7:30 PM it was getting pretty chilly. While they do have heaters outside, sitting in gusty winds with the smell of gas (especially after a fresh trip to the hairdresser!) just wasn't ideal. My daughter went back to the car to grab a blanket. Thankfully, the hostess noticed my discomfort and came back shortly after saying, "Donna, we have another table further down that's out of the wind and under a heat lamp." That small gesture made a big difference, and honestly, that's when the experience started to turn around. From there, things only got better. When our entrées arrived, our waiter Nick realized we had never received our appetizers. Without hesitation, he assured us he would make it right, and he absolutely did. He brought out a selection of cheeses for us to sample, which led to us ordering a caviar bump paired with champagne (highly recommend!). To top it all off, he surprised my daughter with olive cake and fresh berries to celebrate her birthday. Such a thoughtful touch. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Not just because the food was amazing, but because of the attention to detail and how seriously they take the overall dining experience. Parking is available in a nearby garage, and they validate the first 90 minutes, which is a nice bonus.

Yesterday, I came here for my birthday lunch with my mom after she made a reservation, and honestly, I wish we had just gone somewhere else. We sat down right at our 1:00 reservation and then waited 35 minutes just to get a drink menu. Not food. Not to order. Just the menu for drinks. After we finally ordered, the champagne showed up about 20 minutes later. It was served in wine glasses, which feels like basic wine bar knowledge, but apparently not here. When we asked to switch them to champagne glasses, the waiter brought out smaller wine glasses. Not exactly good etiquette for a place that leans so heavily on its bar concept. The whipped ricotta appetizer came out even later, around the 65 minute mark. As an appetizer. It was fine, probably the best thing we had, but "fine" after that kind of wait is not a positive. From there, everything just dragged. It took almost an hour for my mom's meatballs to come out, and when they did, they were raw. Not slightly underdone. Fully pink in the middle. She sent them back and was so turned off she didn't even want to eat anything else. I ordered a salad and specifically asked for light dressing. What I got was the opposite. It was drenched in a thick, heavy dressing that made the whole thing borderline inedible and the lettuce soggy. After our food, I tried to order drip coffee, which they didn't have, so I settled for an Americano. I asked for warm cream, which I've had done at plenty of places, and somehow it came out clotted. If you know anything about coffee, that shouldn't happen. At this point, we had been there for over two and a half hours. For a salad, an appetizer, and four raw meatballs. The server was very nice and doing his best with being busy. BUT, the overall operation felt completely disorganized and untrained. We weren't the only ones either. The couple next to us was also complaining after waiting 40 minutes just to order breakfast items. To make it even better, parking is only comped for 90 minutes. So because of their slow service, we ended up paying for parking on top of overpriced, underwhelming food. What should have been a 45 minute lunch turned into a 2.5 hour ordeal. The bathroom also wasn't clean either time I went, which pretty much sums up the lack of attention to detail across the board. The only slightly redeeming part was the crème brûlée, which was... fine. Not amazing. Just fine. It's a pretty space. I'll give them that. But that's about where the positives end. The food is not good, the timing is unacceptable, and the whole experience feels like Instagram style over quality and substance. Definitely not worth the money, and not somewhere I'd ever go back to.

We regularly looked forward to our meals here, without knowing in advance what delicacies might await us. And, multiple appetizers, entrees, and desserts were available for the asking. Eventually I learned to generally restrain myself from over-ordering, but sometimes two equally enticing appetizers or wonderfully sounding desserts just could not be passed by. Accompanying photos tell the tale of the many fine offerings we enjoyed during our cruise to Baltic Capitals. It is difficult to single out favorites, but for me the most memorable dishes I enjoyed in this main dining room were French Onion Soup, Snow Crab Pate, Black Mussels Marine Style in a White Wine Sauce, cheesy Fettuccine Alfredo, moist Roasted Cornish Game Hen, sumptuous Beef Stroganoff, All-American Meatloaf with Mushroom Gravy and Mashed Potatoes, Beef Tenderloin Wellington with Duchese Potatoes, Sauteed Mahi Mahi Almondine with Toasted Almonds and tasty Brown Butter, Surf & Turf of Filet Mignon with classic Bearnaise Sauce and grilled plump Jumbo Shrimp, Flourless Chocolate Cake with Double Cream and Steeped Berries, Traditional New York Cheesecake with Marinated Strawberries, a Pineapple Sundae, an Original Sacher Torte, Chocolate Pudding Pie, Strawberries Romanoff, Milky Chocolate-Hazelnut Souffle with warm Amaretto Sabayon, Bananas Foster Flambe, and luscious Baked Alaska. All additional pounds gained on the trip were greatly reduced by walking miles during shore excursions, and are fully shed as of now. So, all the overindulging was well worth it! 4-1/2 Stars Overall!

The cake was first brought out with a candle, then taken to the back, sliced, and returned piled on top of each other, placed on the table with tongs for us to serve ourselves. For a paid birthday event, this felt careless and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of food and service. The salads and meat were cleared by 10:30 PM, leaving our table bare, and the beef BBQ was so dry I could barely bite into it. We were told to expect a DJ and live music, but there was no DJ. The live music did not even start until 8:30 PM. Between the few live songs, elevator-style background music was played, which you couldn't dance to. Most of the time you were just sitting and waiting for the next song. In total, there were only a handful of songs the entire night, from about 8:30 PM until 11:30 PM. Then all music was completely shut down by 12:00 AM while there were still guests in attendance. This felt extremely unprofessional and cut our celebration short. The alcohol service was handled very poorly as well. I personally supplied the alcohol to the restaurant, yet only two bottles were placed on our table initially. The rest was kept to the side, and throughout the night the men at our table were asking for alcohol and felt they were expected to tip servers just to have their shots refilled. (Over $250 in tips server collected from my guests) This was uncomfortable and completely inappropriate. For the price I paid, the lack of food, lack of service, and especially the poor handling of music and alcohol made this a very poor experience. I even asked the venue employee would music be back on and they said oh yes long as there are guests music doesn't stop! But it clearly did.
