I really liked the California salad here and the Turkey BLT. Fresh, high quality ingredients, and delicious. They re did this cafe too and it looks really cute. Love coming to Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. I wish I could live here. There is free lavender lemonade at the spa with snacks if you have a treatment there.

Menu very limited won't take an order before noon. It takes a long time to get since all at the pool give their orders at the same time.

Ok. Not a lot of options. Not sure everything is organic and for a spa it could use some healthier options.

I ordered a ham and cheese croissant served with a gherkin and everything was absolutely delicious. The croissant was perfectly flaky and buttery, the ham and cheese were flavorful, and the gherkin added the perfect tangy crunch. The Bloody Mary was well-balanced and refreshing but I wish it had celery. The atmosphere was charming, relaxed, and exactly what you'd hope for in Ojai. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. I can't wait to come back and try more from the menu. Highly recommend if you're looking for a great breakfast or brunch spot!

The woman taking orders at front must be new because she put in the wrong order and then, after we asked if the pastries could be warmed up and were told 'no', responded with 'oh okay, then nevermind', she still boxed up the pastry and charged us for it. We hope she took off the danish order we rejected (as she took back the pastry), but we didn't keep the receipt to see. If you're new, then repeat back an order to make sure you heard everything correctly. Also, why can't pastries be heated? So strange. We each ordered the congee and while the chili oil offers a nice bite, there is no flavor beyond chili oil. The chai oat milk latte was nice but that's the only thing. It's a super cute spot, has fresh flowers everywhere, a pool table, and a nice front and back bar.

Walking in feels like somebody hit play on a 1978 jukebox and never stopped in the best way possible. Between the down home atmosphere, the classic comfort food, and the steady soundtrack of 70s and 80s hits, I half expected to see my aunt serving meatloaf while debating disco vs. Fleetwood Mac. The service top notch! The vibe is pure small-town Americana. No fake trendy farmhouse aesthetic. No $22 avocado toast. Just good people, solid food, endless coffee refills, and music that makes you want to stay for "one more cup." If you grew up anywhere near a family diner, this place feels familiar the second you walk through the door.

An off menu item, made in house was pure deliciousness. Crispy, hearty with the soft steamy potatoes. We are fans! Their country potatoes are not greasy, they're hot, soft, fluffy, and crispy. The marbeled rye with butter and jelly were also great to balance out the savory I promise it's not burnt! Lol it's marbled. Definitely recommend and would come back to make it an Ojai tradition!

The Farmer and the Cook -- Fresh Finds Off the Main Road…read more I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect walking in for the first time, but The Farmer and the Cook won me over pretty quickly. It's bright, clean, and has this easy organic warmth to it... the kind of place that feels like it was put together by people who actually care. Right off the main road, easy to find, and the family vibes are real. It's the kind of spot you want to linger in. If you're navigating dietary restrictions, this place is a quiet goldmine. Strong gluten free options, a genuinely vegan friendly menu, and plenty of vegetarian choices too... so everyone at the table actually gets to eat something they're excited about. That's rarer than it should be. The food? Solid. I went with the raw tacos, sopes, and huarache; all filling, all fairly priced for the area. The raw tacos especially surprised me... fresh, flavorful, and not in a "I wish this was a real taco" kind of way. These hold their own. Service was quick and most of the staff had a warm, genuine energy about them. The one small snag; the cashier seemed to be having a rough one. A little gruff, made me feel like my first visit was mildly inconvenient for them. It happens, we all have bad days, but first impressions do stick a little. Overall though, I'm absolutely coming back. There's more on that menu calling my name and an atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down for a bit. Whether you're vegan, gluten free, or just looking for something fresh and honest... this one's worth the stop.

We went both mornings, and while the a la carte menu was tempting (I perked up when I saw the uni and egg dobladita), we stuck to the small but very good buffet. The space was lovely, in keeping with the rest of the beautiful hotel. It was El Roblar's casual daytime restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor seating and an easy, comfortable atmosphere. Table service was friendly, if mostly hands off. I don't usually eat breakfast, but I grazed the offerings while we were there. I really liked both the Greek and coconut yogurt, as well as the honey and fresh berries set up beside them. There were cured meats and cheese, bread and pastries, including two kinds of conchas and some excellent scones with jalapeño, cheddar, and corn. I enjoyed the fluffy, savory black pepper and Gruyère quiche. I also took advantage of the cut fruit, some high quality melon, fig, plum, and nectarine.
