I really liked the California salad here and the Turkey BLT. Fresh, high quality ingredients, and delicious. They re did this cafe too and it looks really cute. Love coming to Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. I wish I could live here. There is free lavender lemonade at the spa with snacks if you have a treatment there.

Menu very limited won't take an order before noon. It takes a long time to get since all at the pool give their orders at the same time.

Ok. Not a lot of options. Not sure everything is organic and for a spa it could use some healthier options.

It's an iconic Japanese Wagyu Burger restaurant in the middle of Downtown Ojai! Inside seating at the front of the restaurant offers street views of downtown Ojai... Interior seating offers epic murals of printed advertisements from old time Japan... Outdoor seating is just as picturesque with painted murals with cute & adorning phrases! Let's make this place viral and The Place to dine whenever anyone visits Ojai, spread the word and share this review! I visit at least once a week now since I ride my bike from Ventura via the Ventura River and the Ojai Valley Trails... a marathon ride! Their menu is vast and their daily special is the best value. For less than $15 you can have a delicious Wagyu Burger (with cheese - I order mine without) with fries AND a drink of your choice! Of course a generous tip will bring it up to $16-18!=o) The owners are most friendly, they're both from Tokyo! Brandon is the best... He opens early whenever there's someone waiting for the doors to open at Noon. I was here around 11:35A twice and he opened the door, gave me ice water, said I can use the bathroom and he'll take my order as soon as he's ready. I ordered l, paid, and received my food before the restaurant was opened for business! He said that he thinks that this is what his boss would do since he saw him do it... Now, that's elite service, above and beyond call of duty! Additionally, they play 70s, 80s, & 90s Pop Music! My first 2 visits here turned me off since the music had vulgar f words with mentioned body parts... I was going to mention it on my 3rd visit but they changed the music. Must be a change of personnel?=ox Anyways, what are you waiting for? Bring your families & friends and come visit, eat & tip well, take a lot of pix & vidz... believe me, you'll be taking some inside the bathroom too!=o)

The Farmer and the Cook -- Fresh Finds Off the Main Road…read more I'll be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect walking in for the first time, but The Farmer and the Cook won me over pretty quickly. It's bright, clean, and has this easy organic warmth to it... the kind of place that feels like it was put together by people who actually care. Right off the main road, easy to find, and the family vibes are real. It's the kind of spot you want to linger in. If you're navigating dietary restrictions, this place is a quiet goldmine. Strong gluten free options, a genuinely vegan friendly menu, and plenty of vegetarian choices too... so everyone at the table actually gets to eat something they're excited about. That's rarer than it should be. The food? Solid. I went with the raw tacos, sopes, and huarache; all filling, all fairly priced for the area. The raw tacos especially surprised me... fresh, flavorful, and not in a "I wish this was a real taco" kind of way. These hold their own. Service was quick and most of the staff had a warm, genuine energy about them. The one small snag; the cashier seemed to be having a rough one. A little gruff, made me feel like my first visit was mildly inconvenient for them. It happens, we all have bad days, but first impressions do stick a little. Overall though, I'm absolutely coming back. There's more on that menu calling my name and an atmosphere that makes it easy to slow down for a bit. Whether you're vegan, gluten free, or just looking for something fresh and honest... this one's worth the stop.

I was poisoned there with food that I am allergic to by a spiteful employee. Management not only never apologized, they never did anything. The results were lab tested. Today was different...and on the way home I stopped. Now it was later in the morning but I had breakfast on my mind. Once inside I saw the counter and there I sat. Coffee arrived a moment later and I was reading the menu. Simple and to the point, the carne asada omelet that sounds good, no potatoes fresh fruit please. It wasn't long and my breakfast arrived. Nothing fancy here Omelet and a bowl of fruit. The Omelet looked small at first but once I realized the amount of carne asada and I was sold. This bad boy was full of it asada that is and the best mix of different fruit I've seen in a long time My choice of bread was a biscuit with a dab of gravy. Gravy tasted like dry mix with a little help from the cook, good but not to memorable on parker house roll size and was "with" so..no complaint. I gobbled the breakfast and swore I'd stop in on my run to pick up the kids. We'll see. Needless to say this is a no nonsense cafe. This is a no fluff diner, the interior is quite stark, blank but I wasn't here for frills or the romance. The delicious carne asada Omelet made my stop worthwhile and certainly worthy of four star Later Foodguy-Martin

Came as three mini sandwiches. Enjoyable and repeatable. Chicken tortilla soup: wait, what? It's not on the menu but pretty sure this is what my dining companion ordered. She said she enjoyed it but... I order an Arnold palmer which seemed straightforward. But when I asked for a refill later in the meal, the waiter told me they had to make some more. We went both mornings, and while the a la carte menu was tempting (I perked up when I saw the uni and egg dobladita), we stuck to the small but very good buffet. The space was lovely, in keeping with the rest of the beautiful hotel. It was El Roblar's casual daytime restaurant, with both indoor and outdoor seating and an easy, comfortable atmosphere. Table service was friendly, if mostly hands off. I don't usually eat breakfast, but I grazed the offerings while we were there. I really liked both the Greek and coconut yogurt, as well as the honey and fresh berries set up beside them. There were cured meats and cheese, bread and pastries, including two kinds of conchas and some excellent scones with jalapeño, cheddar, and corn. I enjoyed the fluffy, savory black pepper and Gruyère quiche. I also took advantage of the cut fruit, some high quality melon, fig, plum, and nectarine. I'd be curious to sit down for a fuller meal, but I was quite happy with our breakfasts at La Cocina. We enjoyed the food and ambiance, the gentle beginnings of idyllic Ojai days.

But it truly was met with the skepticism of a hostess trying to prevent someone from scamming their way into the establishment. When she ultimately found our reservation, she seemed shocked and suddenly her tone shifted. But it was a weird few minutes of feeling like we were some kind of con artists pulling a fast one. The place was jam packed, so service was very slow - we waited probably 15 minutes for our server to arrive. Which was strange because it's not like they were unexpectedly inundated with a crush of people, this place had been booked solid for weeks! The amount of activity was 100% predictable. Nothing about the menu was really explained, but we were prepared so we just helped the person out by giving our full order immediately using the internet for guidance on what to get. Again, once the food started coming out, it was genuinely fantastic. Not a bad item on the menu. But be prepared to know what you want and be ready when they have time for you.
