A friend who is very familiar with the area recommended this spot. It was also the only restaurant with high ratings that could accommodate a large party at short notice. It's a wonderful, relaxed, and unique setting in an older house that has been converted. Food and service were excellent all around. The carrot soup, home homemade pastas were my favorite along with the chocolate cake for dessert.

Solid but nothing stupendous. A bit expensive for what it was $63 rack of lamb, $48 pork chop felt like city-level very fine dining prices for serviceable city fine dining fare. Cozy main dining room with a quaint fireplace. Decently attractive back porch. Menu wasn't anything spectacular. Didn't highlight much local fare or regional flair - just run of the mill fine dining. Attentive server who was very friendly. Was transparent about specials and pricing. Never made us felt unseen. Good way to end a day of hiking or olive oil tasting.

Had a wonderful meal at Nocciola. It is a beautiful converted house, and the vibe on the panoramic back patio is IMMACULATE. You feel like you are in a treehouse. Beyond romantic. The staff are lovely and knowledgeable. We shared an incredible artichoke and toasted almond arugula salad (crunchy, peppery perfection), which prepared our stomachs for the onslaught of decadence to follow. The scallops: charred and burnished but perfectly tender. The lasagne: superb. Crusty caramelized edges, gorgeous layers--delicious. The tagliatelle special with braised lamb ragu: outrageously good. They really nail their textures here! Topped off with their take on a white Negroni--a very special experience indeed.

Went here with the family on a Saturday and had great service from the staff. The owner Pietro was very patient with looking at photos on Yelp and answering all our questions. I don't know what we did to deserve complimentary desert but we were very thankful and will be coming back. The lemon drops were also very very yummy!

I'm so glad I was able to get last minute reservations on Sunday night before Labor Day weekend. I have never been here before but seems like all the store owners in the area said it was the best restaurant in Ojai. They were right! Also might be the only restaurant. Celebrated our anniversary here and loved the vibe and ambiance. It was as if we were hanging out in a patio deck outside in the woods. For our appetizers they provided us with bread and olive oil. We ordered the scallops and AMAZING. The best scallops I have ever had. I couldn't tell you what they did to it. Perfectly cooked or over roasted and the bite was on point. Loved the caviar on top and couldn't remember what kind of sauce reduction on the plate. My fiancé ordered the Plin pasta which was a beef tenderloin filled pasta and she asked to add truffle on top!! That was a game changer. They put that dish together so well. Worth paying extra for truffle. I ordered the NY steak. Really good flavoring and I asked for it to be medium well. My fault, I think it would have been more tender if I asked for medium rare. Still a great steak! The potatoes were a bit too salty for my likings. Great time and service was nice. Shout out to the waitress who ran out and gave me my camera. Thank you so much.. I totally would have forgotten about it. I feel I didn't get to thank her. So Thank you!!

We were already pretty full from spending the afternoon in town, so we ordered a pizza to share, the scampi pasta, and a Caesar .The pasta was delicious. The staff were very friendly and accommodating throughout our visit. The restaurant is situated on a main road and the seating outside is really nice. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and the outdoor area especially has a really nice, relaxed vibe. Be prepared though, there is usually a long wait time, both for dining and even for pick up orders. It's definitely gets busy, but the staff does a good job and the service was friendly and efficient when we were there. We actually weren't even hungry and came specifically for dessert, and if you haven't tried their strawberry shortcake, you absolutely need to. It's so good - fresh, light, and just one of those things you keep thinking about after. Honestly, I wish we had eaten one there and grabbed another to go for later.

Which was a perfect bite to start the meal off while we enjoyed our cocktails. My girlfriend and I each ordered an appetizer, pasta course, and entree. Each of which came out within a reasonable time of each other to enjoy the food and have some time to discuss the course. Also enough time to build up anticipation for the next course! Our server Keegan was super knowledgeable about all of the items on the menu and was able to accommodate my girlfriend's dietary restrictions. Additionally he gave me the perfect recommendation for a glass of wine to accompany my pasta course! For me the highlights were the Rigatoni Bolognese, The Elders cocktail, and the Pacific White Prawns (unfortunately not pictured). Highly recommend to anyone looking to have a special night out.

It's unfortunate because it's a lovely restaurant with a stunning view. Our server was also a bit slow and not very attentive, which did not help the overall experience. As for the food, everything we ordered was just okay. We had the beef tartare, the black truffle risotto, the veal osso bucco, and a side of mushrooms. Nothing really stood out, especially for the price. The ingredients were clearly fresh and high quality, but the flavors felt muted and a little too subtle. For a restaurant at this level, I expected more depth and more memorable dishes. Overall, not terrible, just not impressive. I wish the flavors matched the quality of the ingredients, the service, and the price point.

She also said that her day would be pretty busy. Woah! Our group was only 4 people. We weren't buggin nor asking too many questions but for some reason we were meant to feel that we were less important than this other group of people coming in. I give it to you, this place has a great selection of amazing and super tasty flavors but the customer service wasn't very welcoming. She did end up asking us to tag along with the group for a tour that's pretty short. She had very little to no conversation with our group though. We did ask her about buying a 3 large bottles of the garlic olive oil but she didn't have it in stock nor would she have it until after she was done helping the group of 7 people. We didn't feel welcomed and we didn't feel like we mattered to her. Regardless we gave in and we bought the smaller bottles. I wouldn't go back. All customers should be treated fairly, whether a large group with reservations or not. I have a feeling she thought being that we were a small group we wouldn't make any purchases and she had a higher wage coming in from the larger group. Oh well. I wasn't very fond of the way we were made feel at this place. #55/2015
