When I walked in, on a Saturday afternoon for lunch, it was about a 7 minute wait. There are some seats outside while you wait, and there were not a-lot, but a noticeable amount of bugs. After our name got called, we got outdoor seating. It looked great but the table was still wet, and so was the seat. We got our drinks minutes after we sat down, I liked that after getting the drinks, you got to order food without another wait. The mimosa was very good and well balanced, which tasted great. I got the linguine Alfredo pasta, it was a pretty big portion in my opinion, but was amazing! My family also got a few things, which i tried, first my mother got the steamed clam which was pretty good, it was very garlicky and buttery, she also got the sand dab. It came with mash potatoes and carrots, it was her first time trying it, and it was really good! But what brings it down to 3 stars is that there were flies EVERYWHERE. So many, we had to move inside. And there were still flies inside! One even flew into the mimosa!!!! And onto my garlic bread. I wouldn't recommend this place if you get annoyed pretty easily. When you see so many flies, you definitely question the hygiene of the place. The waiter said it was the fly season, but the neighboring restaurants did not have any fly infestation like this place. But other than that they had average food here! So if you're comfortable fanning your food constantly while trying to enjoy a meal then this is your place. ;)

This place was amazing and the food was great I got the wild salmon and my wife had the white fish with veggies and the fried zucchini was delicious!

Came to Ojai w my sister and the kids. The weather was beautiful so we sat outside. Our service was super helpful and very nice. They had a happy hour 2pm-5pm so we were happy w that. Many choices for very affordable prices. The main menu also had great seafood and land options. We ordered French fries 6/10 nothings special to remark but also not terrible. "Crab" cakes 6/10 these Salmon cakes were off happy hour. Granted it says crab it was as straight salmon. They definitely did not lack in salmon I can say that. They whole cake was salmon which resulted in to be too dense and a bit dry. No matter the sauces and lemon, couldn't help. I loved the idea of capers in them. Oysters on half shell 7/10 the oysters were fresh and delicious. My biggest peeve was the fact they weren't shucked fully. The oysters were still attached to the shell which was kinda annoying. They could of been cleaned better. Overall The oysters were huge tho and tasty. Tuna Tartare 7/10 my sister had I did not try that but she said it was good. Sushi Spicy tuna 9/10 & yellowtail 8/10 (per my 8 yr old son) he said every was good. If there's a kid who knows spicy tuna this kid right here is an expert. Swordfish and roasted mushrooms 7/10 swordfish was delicious great flavor and fresh. The mushroom had garlic and could of used a tad more salt but still tasty. Drink The Elderberry martini 7/10 was strong and had some sweet yet earthly flavor. Nothing fancy a bit pricey even off happy hour for a simple martini. In all everything was fairly decent. Some things could of been better or spruced up. I appreciate the variety of the menu and the freshness of everything.

Sea Fresh was our choice for lunch while visiting Ojai. We were deciding between seafood and Italian food, and when we passed by Sea Fresh, it looked inviting -- not too busy and with a pleasant atmosphere -- so we decided to give it a try. Menu & Food Sea Fresh offers a good variety of seafood and a few land options, which makes it easy to find something for every taste. We started with the calamari appetizer. The flavor was good, but the portion felt a bit small for the price and the rings were a little chewy. There were only two tentacle pieces, with the rest being rings. For the main course, we ordered the Idaho Whole Trout. The fish was cooked well and nicely plated, but unfortunately it was overly salty -- the combination of capers (already salty) and extra seasoning made it hard to fully enjoy the otherwise delicious flavor. The salad on the plate had a noticeable earthy taste, as if it hadn't been washed properly, and the side of vegetables was just two or three small pieces of broccoli -- more like garnish than a real side dish. Presentation The overall presentation was okay but could be improved. The fish looked good and the plate was well-sized, but the salad felt rushed and the dressing served in a plastic cup felt out of place for a sit-down restaurant of this type. Small touches like using ceramic containers, adding more color, and offering a proper portion of vegetables would make the dish look much more balanced and appealing. Service The service was the highlight of our visit. Nea greeted us with a big smile, was attentive without being intrusive, and checked on our table every few minutes to make sure everything was going well. Her wine recommendation paired nicely with the calamari and showed good knowledge of the menu. Small details like fresher lemon wedges and a smoother wine-pouring ritual could improve the experience, but Nea's warmth and professionalism elevated the meal. Value & Recommendation Sea Fresh has a pleasant atmosphere and very good service, but there's room for improvement in seasoning control, salad preparation, and the quantity of sides. Overall, it's a good place for seafood in Ojai if you're looking for a relaxed lunch, but I'd recommend asking for light salt and checking sides for freshness.

Stopped by on a Friday evening with my partner. The restaurant wasn't very busy, and we were seated immediately. There is a cute outdoor seating area as well as indoor seating. We opted in for indoor since it was a bit cold outside. Our server was kind and helpful. We ordered the Seafood Linguine and Fish & Chips. The food came out very quickly. The pasta was fantastic and very flavorful. The Fish & Chips were good too, but the pasta was definitely the star of the evening. Portion sizes were big, and we had plenty of leftovers! Overall, I had a great experience and would recommend! Parking: Plenty of free street parking available

Blue skies in Ojai. Sometimes they're pink, like Sea Fresh's delicious Pink Moment cocktail.

I love their wild-caught salmon and their charred broccoli. Also, their drinks, such as the Pink Moment and their margaritas are delicious. Friendly staff as well. :)

Such a great place! We sat outside with our dog and the waiter immediately brought the dog his own water bowl. Our waiter was awesome. So friendly and he was cracking jokes the whole night. The food was amazing. The oysters were to die for.

Came here thinking there is sushi. Just in case you are looking for sushi, they don't serve it on the weekend. We still ate to try it out. Service was good. It was a busy weekend but still was taken care of and quick enough. Ambience could go either way. You can dress up or be casual. We sat outside on a nice day. Good shade. Food was average. Did not think it was very special. I also do not like sea food that much. We had the steak which was good tender. The seafood linguini was good too but did not think it was that unique. We did have crab cakes which was delicious. Had a manmosa which is a mimosa in a wine glass. That was the right amount of strong.

omg omg, soooooooo gooooood. The fish meat is very tender and melts in the mouth. The service was excellent. They kindly offered water to my dog. The price is also very reasonable. I will come to ojai for this restaurant.

Black and Tan - excellent presentation!

They do a soft close from 2-5 where they don't serve the food menu but offer drinks, coffee and pastries. We stopped in on the 4th of July and were seated right away. They also have a coffee and pastry counter if you want to grab something to-go. You do not want to miss out on the pastries, and the display sure catches your eye. Along with our main we split a morning bun which was flaky and just the right amount of sweet. As we were walking out I noticed some sandwiches that looked extra tasty as well. We kept it simple and split the Dutchess Breakfast Plate since we had quite a bit of eating planned for the day, but it was more than enough to satiate us alongside the pastry. It comes with these massive, crispy and spiced potatoes, big slabs of Niman Ranch bacon, tomato chutney, thick-cut sourdough toast and two eggs. At $22 this isn't cheap, but the quality is there and I would order this again just for those potatoes. The Burmese Fried Chicken Sando seemed to be the most popular dish and I was jealous as I saw it hitting other tables. I'll just have to come back!

This ended up working out because we had two drinks and sat out at the little fire pits on the lawn and enjoyed those. There were tons of families with kids there for Easter weekend and all the kids were making s'mores at the fire pit, which was cute to watch. We were notified our table was ready at 7:25 which was nice that it wasn't later. We sat down at a table that wasn't directly under a heater and after a few minutes asked the busser if we could switch to the table next-door. He obliged and moved us to the new table and turned the heater on. We were at the front of the patio and had a gorgeous view, again out over the golf course. The staff were all fantastic. From the hostesses to bussers to wait staff, everyone was highly attentive. Ok well all that is 5 stars for sure, but on to the food. Bread and butter were tasty, the rosemary butter was awesome. Our stomachs were a little bigger than their eyes and we ordered two entrées and FOUR sides. Lamb chops and Rib-eye were both cooked perfection but didn't blow me out of the water (especially for the price). The mashed potatoes were my favorite, perfectly seasoned and buttery smooth. Broccolini was also cooked perfectly, the lemon garnish helped to bring out a little flavor, but I do think it could've used something else, a little pepper or some Parmesan. The Mac N Cheese was good but mild for my taste. A little more of the crumb topping or a dash of salt and pepper would've helped make it pop a little more. Then there was the one big miss, which was the mustard greens. I feel like I've had them before, but I've certainly had many other types of similar greens and they had one single flavor which was extreme bitterness. It was just completely devoid of any other seasoning, salt, acid, SOMETHING, although with how better it was, I'm not sure much could be done. I just can't imagine that was the way it was intended to taste. For dessert, we had the old-fashioned doughnut bread pudding, which had a delicious marionberry ice cream on top and a sharp lemon blueberry compote on the side. All in all, it was a wonderful experience and I definitely return to celebrate a special experience although I'd probably be a little more selective on some of my food choices next time.

But it truly was met with the skepticism of a hostess trying to prevent someone from scamming their way into the establishment. When she ultimately found our reservation, she seemed shocked and suddenly her tone shifted. But it was a weird few minutes of feeling like we were some kind of con artists pulling a fast one. The place was jam packed, so service was very slow - we waited probably 15 minutes for our server to arrive. Which was strange because it's not like they were unexpectedly inundated with a crush of people, this place had been booked solid for weeks! The amount of activity was 100% predictable. Nothing about the menu was really explained, but we were prepared so we just helped the person out by giving our full order immediately using the internet for guidance on what to get. Again, once the food started coming out, it was genuinely fantastic. Not a bad item on the menu. But be prepared to know what you want and be ready when they have time for you. And absolutely come with proof of a reservation! You'll be glad you have it. And get ready for a delicious meal!

Great food. Truly awful service…read more I really wanted to understand the hype around Rory's Place, and honestly, the food was good. Several dishes were genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the service was so bad that it completely overshadowed the meal. The pacing was bizarre from the beginning. After our crudo, we waited close to 50 minutes for our salad. At that point, we finally had to ask our server if it was coming. She told us there had been some kind of "glitch" in the kitchen and brought us a bowl of olives while we waited, but it honestly felt like our order had simply been forgotten. The bigger issue was that no one was checking on us. We went roughly 40 minutes without seeing our server after ordering. Drinks sat empty. The only person who consistently came by was the busser, who was lovely and frankly provided more attentive service than anyone else. The experience at the front wasn't much better. The welcome felt cold and indifferent, and even getting seated took a few awkward minutes with very little acknowledgment. Nothing about the hospitality felt warm or particularly interested in having us there. Then came the grand finale. While clearing our entrée plates, our server dropped a knife covered in pesto onto my skirt. My skirt is now stained, possibly permanently. She offered soda water, which, fine, but somehow brought out the spoons for our dessert before actually bringing the soda water for the pesto she had just spilled on me. At that point, the entire experience had crossed over into comedy. Even the bathroom was a mess, with paper towels overflowing from the trash and onto the floor. I understand restaurants have bad nights. Kitchens get backed up. Mistakes happen. But this wasn't one mistake. It was an entire evening of poor pacing, lack of attention, weak hospitality, and one problem after another. The frustrating part is that the food was actually good. With even halfway decent service, I would have left with a completely different impression. Instead, this was easily one of the worst restaurant service experiences I've had in years. Two stars, and they're basically both for the kitchen.
