All of the food we tried was really tasty. Creative and delicious rolls. The sake flight was fun. Everything was reasonably priced. It gets busy around 6 but if you go before it is easy to walk in without reservations. The only thing for me was a weird smell in the restaurant when we got there, which was a little concerning considering what we were planning to eat. But the food was good.

Ikura (salmon roe), edadame, & a special riceless roll. Also had delicious mushroom. Skewers.

Last minute stopped into the newly located Hakane.Warm setting with delicious dishes at every turn. Artful, scrumptious sushi... difficult to decide between specialty rolls and standards; both were excellent. Mushroom appetizer was a flavorful concentration of shiitakeness. Hakane is a reliable culinary oasis.

Great friendly service and you can tell the fish is nice quality. We sat on their front patio and had a view of the mountains. They have moved locations to another building not far away from the last one

This was quite literally the single most exquisite experience I've ever had outside of a Michelin star restaurant , the staff is absolutely fantastic and makes the atmosphere feel like a home for the truly wonderful. The food is new, exciting, and delectable, at no point did I want to stop absolutely stuffing my face like a pig until I burst. Some places are dangers for expired food or bad service, this place is dangerous because it will make you never want to leave and always yearning for more, five stars.

We sat there 30 min with no water. Nobody came to check on us so we just stared at the menu for 15 minutes. Last time i came here was 12 years ago. Things really changed.

We were starved after a day in the mountains and luckily didn't have to wait too long for a space here at Full Moon. The restaurant can maybe only seat 30 ish people outside/inside at once and my girlfriend were sat at the bar which initially didn't excite me too much but being right in front of the sushi master was sweet as were handed each role by him as soon as it was prepared. My girlfriend and were instantly impressed with each item we ordered. The pork belly skewers and Ceviche came out first which was stark contrast between the steamy chewy tendy pork and the zesty rich ceviche with a lovely serving of crunchy red onion, cucumber, and a lovely mix of seafood. Also the cut rolls were premier. Quality of mint, fish, and cucumber and wasabi were all 10/10. If remi from ratatouille was Japanese, I would have thought he'd been in the chef's hat as he was preparing our food. All our plates were powerful in flavor, presentation and made us eager to return if ever in Ojai again. The service here is friendly, genuine, and efficient. I look forward to another chance to dine here again.

Let's make this place viral and The Place to dine whenever anyone visits Ojai, spread the word and share this review! I visit at least once a week now since I ride my bike from Ventura via the Ventura River and the Ojai Valley Trails... a marathon ride! Their menu is vast and their daily special is the best value. For less than $15 you can have a delicious Wagyu Burger (with cheese - I order mine without) with fries AND a drink of your choice! Of course a generous tip will bring it up to $16-18!=o) The owners are most friendly, they're both from Tokyo! Brandon is the best... He opens early whenever there's someone waiting for the doors to open at Noon. I was here around 11:35A twice and he opened the door, gave me ice water, said I can use the bathroom and he'll take my order as soon as he's ready. I ordered l, paid, and received my food before the restaurant was opened for business! He said that he thinks that this is what his boss would do since he saw him do it... Now, that's elite service, above and beyond call of duty! Additionally, they play 70s, 80s, & 90s Pop Music! My first 2 visits here turned me off since the music had vulgar f words with mentioned body parts... I was going to mention it on my 3rd visit but they changed the music. Must be a change of personnel?=ox Anyways, what are you waiting for? Bring your families & friends and come visit, eat & tip well, take a lot of pix & vidz... believe me, you'll be taking some inside the bathroom too!=o)

Little Sama Ojai!…read more Took the wife here thinking to share a dish and order small things before the drive back to the OC. Oh we left filled! Located inside the Topa Topa Brewing Company, as soon as you walk in you will see the tap bar, to the left you'll see where you place your order for Little Sama, even more to the left is the food menu. It was very tempting to try a beer from Topa Topa since it was our first time at both these locations, but also our first time in Ojai, but man the heat destroyed me (when does it not) and I knew the beer would just make me even more hot and bloated too. We were at the location on a Thursday late afternoon, not too many people, few people coming in and getting either their after work brew or shoot maybe one before their shift starts. It was happy hour for Little Sama which we took advantage with one of the dishes which I will discuss in a bit. Plenty of seating inside and outside, as well as two unisex bathrooms, to the right side of the bar. The girl working was very helpful on giving us good recommendations which we went with: Okonomiyaki Tots (Happy Hour Item) - Now most places when they have happy hour and these items are on there, its usually like half the portion or something, they gave us a lot, so I am curious what does the non-happy hour order look like. One thing for sure is I am super glad they gave us this much because these were bomb and dangerous. The tater tots were fried perfectly that it held its crunch even with the Okonomi Sauce and kewpie mayo. I usually don't care for pickled cabbage but that perfectly balanced the whole dish that I found myself poking the cabbage and spinning it like spaghetti, then making sure it stays in place by capping it with two tots. Damn delish! Korean Fried Cauliflower - This is to this date, the best fried cauliflower dish I have had, actually lets expand that to the best cauliflower dish I have had. Again perfectly fried where you had a little bit of a crunch but still had the nice pillow-whe feel of the cauliflower. That sauce though! It was so damn good I obviously finished the dish, but at the end my fat boy habits came out and I scraped the whole plate so all the sauce would combine again so I could use the last of the two cauliflower and drench em down! Can I get this some how over here to the OC PLEASE! Top Sirloin Katsu Sando - I don't know how they did this not only were they keeping the crisp of the sandwich along with the katsu, they didn't clash to where it was just to crunchy, they blended so well together. That miso garlic cabbage slaw just really put everything together into just a umami explosion in the mouth. The Krupuk chips were delicious, I was going to knock a star off my review because either they weren't fried all the way or maybe that could just be the chip themselves, but do check your chips, sometimes in the center is a very hard part while surrounding it is the regular chip like texture. The wife bit into it and the shock of not expecting that hard texture, irritated that side of the jaw for a bit. In conclusion as mentioned above I started off with a 4 star review because of the chip, but that was the only thing. I just think putting out that delicious food, having one of those dishes being the best I have had, it deserved a 5 star from me. Imagine enjoying the beer which without a doubt would have some that pair nicely with each dish! This restaurant will be one of those ones that will make it hard to try anything else in Ojai. Why? Being our first time in Ojai, it is hard to say when is the next time we will return, but when we do, why would I try any other place out when I can finally try this place again! Was dry and some pieces were just batter no chicken , very hard. Not the usual crispy outside and moist and tender inside. Felt like these were fried too long or refried various times. The vibe was classy and trendy but still lively. Such a pretty spot! The four of us shared a bunch of things. The Everybody Loves Raymond was my favorite roll. It had these little cubes of tuna on top that were almost like a mini poke bowl. SO good! The Crouching Tiger was another favorite. The rainbow and spicy tuna rolls were good too, just more classic. The crispy tuna nigiri was my favorite appetizer. Super fresh with perfectly crispy rice. We also loved the firecracker rock shrimp, which was light and crispy without being oily. We got the sauce on the side so the spice was totally manageable. But the GARLIC NOODLES!! Easily some of the best I've ever had. Buttery, garlicky, creamy and everyone at the table agreed they were amazing. The shrimp fried rice was great too, and they were able to make it non-spicy for us. We obviously did not have room for dessert, so we ordered it anyway The French vanilla crème brûlée was delicious, the green tea mochi was good once I got past the texture since it was my first mochi experience lol, and my sister said the tiramisu was the best she's ever had! Service slowed down a little after our entrées came out, but they were also extremely busy. Great food, gorgeous water views and such a fun dinner. I would absolutely come back.
