I will preface by saying this location was highly recommended to me and I was highly disappointed. I dined in Wednesday before closing for 2 orders to go. I had ordered two orders of 5 taquitos estilo DF, a coke, a cucumber lime agua fresca and dessert. The second order to go was for 5 taquitos still DF as well. While they had the order out in reasonable amount of time, they up charged me on the dessert. To make matters worse, upon arrival at my house I saw I was missing one order of tacos. The food was great, and they did fix my receipt to correctly reflect correct price of dessert. However, how can you forget an order of tacos? I didn't notice because my friend carried the order, so before you order make sure they charge you correctly and that you have everything you ordered. It's like McDonald's does that but these aren't McDonald's prices. I left a good tip- I shouldn't have!!

This one has been on my radar for a very long time. Great tacos and great customer service. Food: the Texas are huge. I mean 2 or 3 will fill you up. I got 5 to go to try a variety of 23.00. About 4.75 a taco but they ate huge so it makes sense. The barbacoa was so fresh and tasty. The sausage and egg was great. The fajita is okay. Needs more seasoning or a better cut of meat. I will definitely try more. Also the red and green sauces are phenomenal! Customer service is great too. I'll definitely come back again. Easy 5 stars.

I've never had a bad or decent experience here... It's always been amazing. The food is always fresh, hot and delicious and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to anyone looking for great service, amazing food and a welcoming atmosphere. All of the staff are wonderful and helpful with any menu questions.

First time trying it for lunch. As soon as you walk in you're greeted so that's always nice. When we went we had to wait a bit since tables were being cleaned all at once which was odd. When we got seated one of 3-4 waitress came to see if we needed something to drink but we weren't ready as it was our first time trying the place. Speaking of the wait staff. It would be best if they're given sections vs all of them working the whole place and being asked about orders taken non stop by a diff waitress. It took a bit for them to bring our chips and salsa. Which the only green salsa you get wasn't that great. I will say they give you some frijoles refritos that weren't bad. When we finally decided on a drink which BTW they're not cheap. Me thinking oh this will be good for the price I mean. So I got something called Friday Khalo. When my drink came out it was a huge let down.It was also not that great tasting. I saw other tables getting bottles of salsa so I asked for them. I can eat a good salsa but these were just extremely spicy. I'm not a huge salsa verde person but it was the better one of both. I didn't get a good pic of the other person plate as you can see but it was some type of beef in some chile pasilla sauce. That beef was tough and the sauce spicy so they only took a few bites. I ordered the chilaquiles and idk if it's a Hispanic thing where we overcook our beef and being so thin it just made it extra tough. All in a all,for the prices and food it's a place I wish I'd love but not returning. Oh yeah! A fam sat next to us they came in maybe 5-10min after us. They sat their quite a long LONG...time. They ate more chips than anything. When we were done eating we saw the man in the group barely getting his food.

Nice Tex-mex place in an unassuming area. They give free chips and salsa when you sit down which is amazing. I ordered the queso birria tacos which tasted great. Melty cheese, nice bowl of consume, and onions cilantro and lime all made the tacos a good experience. Definitely would recommend as long you don't mind a food coma afterwards.

The El Taco Man truck usually parked in a nearby lot adjacent to La Chingada seems to have disappeared, so I decided to check out the latter to try beef fajita tacos. The tacos here are huge and really, really good - the onion and cilantro, along with guacamole and salsa verde, made for some great tacos. However, I was not a fan of the horchata, which lacked cinnamon. It made me wish I had gone to Taqueria Arandas for horchata. (Haha) The service here was really good. If you're ever near The Heights, definitely check this place out.

Big tacos, very delicious and homemade tortillas, recommend

I came here this morning. It was right next to my veterinary clinic. Authentic Mexican cuisine, small hole in the wall restaurant. The service was impeccable ,wonderful workers. Lastly, the portion sizes were not as big as I hope they were, but the food is delicious.! Meal for one was less than $16.

One of the few places that does breakfast tacos all day! As I scour places to do my taco Tuesday fix or just taco fix in general, I find myself calling this spot to place my order for breakfast tacos since they always have them available. And they are quite dope! They are large and filling with a good cheese pull, put some of that green salsa on it and you're good to go. Of course I've done other tacos here as well. They do a mean barbacoa and pastor. The fajita/steak is pretty tasty as well. To-go orders are made fairly quickly and they always give me extra salsa and napkins when I ask for it. I haven't tried their other items but I shall get myself to do it one of these days. Of course it's been difficult cause I can't stop with the tacos. And I don't know if I'm ever gonna stop!

Are they closed for business? I've tried calling and no answer or voicemail and they weren't open when I stopped by to try and get breakfast today.

They close at 4 on week days, no clue on weekends. Someone should update the hours of operation.

Thankfully, Mark was there and initially was told a 35 minute wait but seemed intent by quicker. Ambiance: 4/5 It was breakfast time so of course it was a busy time. For my visit, it was crowded but not to where you couldn't hear your table. Dress is casual, good for friends, solo, or pit stop. Service: 5/5 Our waitress was very knowledgeable and friendly. Since it was our first visit there, she gave us some background that it was a Pappa's owned restaurant and food is made from scratch. Food: 3/5 They offer mimosas and I was tempted to order, but was driving and it was 9AM so forewent that option. There are food options for every tastebud. Mark ordered the fried cheese sticks, they were one of the items that I found worthwhile to return for. I opted for the Waffle feast. It included a waffle, that I added pecans on top to, two strips of bacon, eggs your way and hash browns. To say that I needed to add salt and pepper to the eggs and hash browns because they tasted bland and flavorless was unfortunate. It also was served at room temperature, because it was made from scratch, would think it be warmer to hot. The waffle was savory and had good mix and topped with the pecans made it even better. If you're on this side of town and want a change up from the "other breakfast diners" DOT would be where I stop. Fast, friendly service. Depending the food you get, it gets the job done for some sustenance to hold you over when you're not sure when your next meal is because you'll be in Galveston for 7 hours riding a float in the Mardi Gras parade.

I'll admit that when we got there, it doesn't look like much from the outside, but inside is a different feel. We were greeted and told we could sit where we like. What I eventually found both surprised and delighted me, and Nate's gets a thumbs up overall. Pictures are deceiving as I thought the place would be larger but it's a tight fit for bigger groups. There are only a handful of tables but plenty of character. It's also a bit grimey, unsightly and even a tinge dodgey, which may be a deal breaker for others but is an immediate appeal to me. Two things immediately standout when it comes to the food: the portions and the prices are outstanding. The offerings are as no frills as the rest of the establishment. The other surprise was how much influence there was from Mexican cuisine. Hash browns were the goal, but chorizo and chilaquiles were the bonus. Another surprise? The hash browns weren't as crispy as I would have wanted. It's entirely plausible that I came on an off day, which happens. However everything else was on point as my chorizo skillet was absolutely dynamite, pancakes were fluffy and indulgent, breakfast tacos were outstanding, and my eggs were perfectly softly scrambled. Even the bacon and sausage patties were delicious, which is a tall order considering it's not likely made in house. Lastly, as someone who drinks cold water like it's a hobby (#1), I'm especially grateful for the massive 32 oz cup of water, which is perfect for someone who drinks like a camel. The staff is not the quickest but they are friendly. Spanish may go further with most and they're not the quickest when it comes to greeting folks or cleaning tables. The food is the star and consider paying in cash. ____________ (#1) I'm thirsty.
