At 6:15 in the morning in a random Thursday there's a VILLAGE people line out the door. Cop. Construction worker. Biker. Just missing the Native. Assembly line taco formation makes it go super fast. Be prepared. Grab the salsa and peppers. Hot coffee. Excellent chorizo breakfast tacos. Amazing bacon tacos. Three filling overstuffed shells and a large coffee for $11 with a great little section to sit and devour. Wish I was here over the weekend to see how good the tamales are. Clean and cute and a treasure.

At this point, Brothers is more synonymous with breakfast tacos than any other establishment in Houston. While there are other places that offer and even specialize in them, few have more years than this family-run EaDo institution, which is closing in on a quarter of a century. The lines from both tourists and locals happen on the daily, from the morning to lunch. It's hard to predict on when to come since the peak times fluctuate between 8-10AM and Noon. Thankfully the wait isn't too long and it moves quicker than it looks. It's really only an issue if one is pressed for time (#1) or if the weather is less than ideal. The other hold up which is people who don't know their way around and hold up the line while they make a decision. The tacos are all across the board in textures, flavors, and look. Personally, their scrambled egg with sausage and peppers is deceivingly good. The spicy potato seems super plain but is packed with a nice zing of flavor. I highly recommend salsa of any kind to add to the taco. It's not all tacos here: tortas, quesadillas, fajitas, and daily lunch specials are still very much a part of their food rotation. It would be remiss of me to not mention their amazing Too Good To Go offer, which is currently stands at $3.99 for 5 (random) tacos in a surprise bag. It's been one of my favorite ways to keep things affordable while enjoying a nice selection of their pre-made tacos. There is seating in here, but it's limited and located in the back. During the different parts of the afternoons, sometimes they'll give a little break (and even a little food) to the less fortunate roaming the streets of EaDo. I think the people who run the place are excellent folks. Be strategic about the parking situation, since their front lot only offers so many spaces. Street parking is practically essential and time flexibility is worth its weight in breakfast taco gold. ___________ (#1) Call ahead of time and make it a to-go order.

Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am, and there was a line out the door. This building itself isn't huge though, and the ordering system is much like a build-your-own spot so the line does move quickly! We waited about 10 minutes. The parking lot is very small with street parking being the only other option, but that's fine since it giving more of a "grab and go" place anyways. There are a few bench tables and barstools inside though for those who want to dine in. The food itself (which in this case was classic breakfast tacos) were just good, nothing mind-blowing. I do appreciate how you can add all of your fixings at the end instead of having to go back and ask. Would I come here again? I'm not opposed to it, but I would not go out of my way to return if I wasn't in the area.

Brothers Taco House is an EaDo taco joint you have to check out if you haven't already! I'll be real with y'all and say parking here isn't the best. Only a few normal parking spots then the rest is street parking. But it's worth the trouble! Service is quick. It's counter service and the line usually goes out the door, but it moves quickly. Ambiance is nothing special, but you don't need that when the tacos are tasty and affordable. They have a ton of different filling options. I usually stick to al pastor, barbacoa, and beef fajita, but they have so many options to choose from. The chipotle chicken was surprisingly really good, and you can never go wrong with a breakfast taco option. What really sets this place apart is their salsa, 5 different options of different spice levels. And my personal favorite, the fresh chilis they offer on the side as well. Enjoy!

BTH serves authentic, flavor-packed Mexican breakfast tacos. Choose from meats like barbacoa, chorizo, sausage, or ham, with tasty sides like peppers, potatoes, and veggies. Affordable and good value tacos; definitely worth a try!

Drove by this place so many times so I decided to stop by. The place is more for take out. They serve breakfast and lunch. Has a small area to seat and eat for a quick bites. Not where you wanna spend hours to chit chat and eat. Good food and price ranges about $3-$5 per taco.

I see why this place is so popular. Cheap and delicious breakfast tacos. The chorizo was definitely my favorite, but everything we tried was perfect. Generally the clients and staff here speak Spanish, so it's helpful to speak and understand Spanish, but not required! There's a line, but it moves quickly. Parking is a bit tricky, but even with that the experience was smooth.

Been coming here for years. The guy with the bad haircut and bad teeth was really rude today. He told me ten mins. I show up to get my order in ten mins now he talking about 15 more mins and was extremely rude about it. Too many good tacos spots to deal with his rudeness. I Will not be back. 1 star.

This place always has a line wrapped around the building. Finally stopped in to see what the fuss is all about. The ladies behind the counter were super friendly and helpful to a first timer. Ordered 2 tacos: chicken tinga and spicy pork. They have 3 types of sauces mild (light green), medium (darker green) and hot (red). The red one is the hottest. They also give you cilantro and onions to go on the tacos. Super cute place with wood paneling and there is some hidden parking behind the building. Now for the food review... beyond amazing! My favorite sauce was the medium darker green one. Just the right amount of kick for the tomatillo. The food is fresh and flavorful and the flour tortillas taste like homemade :) So glad I finally went in. It's worth it to fight the crowds and traffic to try this place out. There is a reason why it's always packed!

I love the food here. Always fresh and always tasty. I could drink the salsa, so good! The staff is always friendly and the vibes are always busy but great. The location is small, so I usually order to go. This place is a MUST go for breakfast or lunch!!!!!

Brothers Taco House has been on my breakfast radar for a minute. The location, parking and long lines have kept me from checking it out sooner. Recently, my coworkers and I decided we needed some breakfast tacos in our life so I carved out time in my morning to make it happen. Since I came bright and early, there was no big line that I have always read about nor was there any issue with parking. Most of the food is prepared and the ordering process is like a cafeteria line. You either tell them or point at what you want and how you want it. Customer service was good. My order was large but I planned ahead and grouped like items together. I was in and out of there in a jiffy. The tacos prices are on par or even slightly cheaper than other breakfast taco spots ranging from $2.25 to $3.50 depending on that you get. They do charge a quarter extra for cheese. When we dug into the food at work, I noticed some were not labeled like others so we had to do some investigating to get our orders right. Maybe sticker labels would be ideal for large to go orders. Just a thought. For my order I got a chorizo & egg, bacon & egg, and a sausage & egg. I added cheese to them all. To me, they all tasted very similar. Of course they had slightly different flavors, but not much. If I had to choose, I would pick the bacon one as the front runner. My coworkers and I try different breakfast tacos pretty regularly and to me, this place was just ok. Not bad by any mean, it just didn't live up to the hype. Overall, the food satisfied my hunger but I was expecting the best breakfast tacos in town. I will probably give them another shot but eat it right there in the parking lot.

This is def one of those restaurants where you need to know what you want before going up. Its a very popular taco spot in EaDo area and seem specifically busy during breakfast. They have a small parking lot so parking is a hit/miss but we were lucky enough to get parking. We waited in line and tried to figure out what we wanted. It's set up cafeteria style where you go down the line and they take your order and assemble your taco with the various fillings. It seemed they had many more options than their menu listed which left me a bit flustered when making decisions. I wish things were labeled but I eventually went with the potato, chorizo, and bean breakfast taco and got some tamales to go. I really liked the breakfast taco, it was very flavorful and surprisingly filling. The salsas they have out were also great and def recommend to go along with any of their food. The tamales were a bit mediocre for me, nothing stand out (I'm also not sure what filling they were or if they had options but I think it was carnitas). Overall, a solid breakfast taco spot, just know what you want before you step in.

Overall, a great experience and an even better price for tacos! My boyfriend and I came here on a Sunday around 10:30am and waited about 10 minutes in line before ordering. There's usually a line on weekends, so expect a bit of a wait. The setup is order-at-the-counter style where they hand you your food at the end, but I noticed people doing online orders too--definitely recommend that option if it's available. We ordered 5 tacos total plus a large lemonade, all for under $17. Super affordable and we left very full. I had the bacon, egg & cheese with potatoes and beans, while my boyfriend tried chorizo and beef. The beef taco was the winner--so flavorful, tender, and juicy. Next time I'd probably order a couple of those! The sauce variety was great too, and the lemonade was refreshing. Service was fast and efficient. Seating is limited, but we managed to grab a spot without much trouble. Great spot overall--tasty food, great value, and worth the weekend line. I'll definitely be back, especially for that beef taco!

A place I grew up in as a little girl in Beaumont but never have I've visit this "original" location. Stepping in to this spot felt like a restaurant in the country of Mexico. I ordered the El Henry. I absolutely loved my dish, only thing I would've chance was the cheese enchilada definitely would've swap for a chicken or beef one, or maybe even a flaunta. I really like the Mexican rice, it had little potatoes and carrots in it. Some of the best Mexican yellow rice I've had. They offer a cinco de mayo drink special. The only thing that seem to make it special was the drinks apparently were limited edition menu items. Nothing was special about the prices. The regular menu drinks were a dollar(s) less. The margarita I ordered first was peach coconut. I didn't taste the coconut at all. I swap for the peach strawberry ($14 or 15) which was great, sweet& strong. One did me just right. You get to select up to two flavors for additional $2 (for both verse each, that's a plus. Not worded on menu). If you select a third flavor an additional $2 would be added ($4 in total) I appreciate separate tickets provided after confirmation and no additional gratuity automatically added, which he got tip equally the same or more. When asked about the "empty" patio that was available, he informed us that the entire deck was reserved. Upon departing I noticed from the parking lot individual tables, of separate parties were occupying only 3 tables. It was 8 of us sitting at 2 tables. Which the table was pushed up against the wall, and one side was inaccessible, which took away spacing. Service was lovely space was really tight. Good thing some of the ladies didn't order full meals. Definitely wouldn't have been able to fit every plate.

Ambiance: upon walking in, it was chaos and sooooo many people standing up and sitting down. Walking around with drinks. I felt like I was in a club. A server made her way to me to take my Togo order. While waiting, I grabbed a drink at the bar and just made the happy hour cut off. Service was great as I was able to get my order and it was a large order. Everything was correct. The house margarita was ok, I wish I had gotten the hibiscus flavor. Order; Crab Tostadas Mixed Fajitas Snapper Mole Enchilada Ninfa 2 Tacos Margarita Mix The only thing I would order again is the crab tostadas and the beef fajitas. The chicken had no flavor at all. The charros beans and rice were not anything special. I was not a fan of either. Overall, we are not planning to order from here again. It just wasn't what Mark Weins made it seem like on his review. Also, whoever the driver was practically could not wait for me to turn around. Sorry, I had to take a pic. Very rude.

For drinks, my husband and our friends tried some of the margaritas from their large and unique margaritas menu, as well as their hibiscus agua fresca. The chips were on the thicker side, but were crispy and not stale or chewy at all. Each of the salsas were quite different, and two were served warm, which we really liked! For the price, I'd consider getting the chips and salsa as a non-negotiable, honestly. For entrees, we tried the enchilada rojas, chilaquiles verde w/ chicken and beef, birria barbacoa ramen, and huaraches. My husband felt like his ramen could have included more meat, but aside from that everyone really enjoyed what they ordered. The highlight was probably the desserts, though! We got a quatro leches and two ordered of their giant and amazing churros. Both were incredibly tasty and reason enough to return for another visit in the future!

A Cali girl-lala enjoying some Tex Mex…read more While in HTX I was able to meet up with a friend from college. He mentioned margaritas (not pictured) and food! So we met at Candente. Upon walking in the restaurant was clean it was pretty packed for a Wednesday night but the aroma of the food! OMG! Our server was really nice and patient because my friend and I talked for about 30 minutes before we finally ordered our food. He has the beef enchiladas with rice and black beans. He cleaned his plate...literally not a grain of rice in sight! I had the smoked chicken verde enchiladas and WOW! What an amazing dish. I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur especially being from California. I have always said Tex Mex?.....eeeeyuck! But Candente has changed my tune! I will definitely be back to visit when I return!

Glowing red. Burning. Candente…read more Let me start by saying that I'm not into Mexican food unless it's an auntie or grandma making it at their house. I prefer traditional homemade Mexican food but here we are. (Oh I googled and suggested this place lol) Went in for a team lunch on a Friday. Coworker's birthday lunch and she wanted Mexican. Party of 9 and we were seated promptly. They have a lunch menu and a happy hour as well as a full menu and full bar. The interior was nicely decorated. And open. There is bar seating and patio seating as well. Our waitress was Aisha and she was amazing. Friendly, helpful and patient. And able handle our large group and a few more tables with a smile. There were a variety of options. Salads, fajitas, nachos, enchiladas, etc. Also complimentary chips and salsa. My Order: chicken tortilla soup, lunch fajitas combo - chicken and beef. Chicken tortilla soup (3.5/5) - it was a bit salty for me but I am not a salt person so most things are salty to me; everyone else said it was tasty, there were tons of shredded chicken, avocado pieces, tortilla strips Fajitas - combo (4/5) - chicken was seasoned well and the beef (medium rare) was perfection and so tender and juicy, mexican rice was fluffy, and normally I would pass on the beans and get extra rice but my coworker suggested the charro beans and wow, that was a win - the seasoning was great, there were chunks of meat and the texture was nice, the only thing that could have been done better is the flour tortillas - they over-charred them making them too crispy and left them with a burnt taste. A couple of people got the elote salad and raved about it. So that will be a next time try. Def will be back. Everyone enjoyed their meals and some even ordered food to go. Would recommend.
