I've only ever been to La Camp for dinner. We decided to go for Happy Hour on a Wednesday night which ended up being a great deal. We arrived right around 5pm and were able to get 3 seats at the bar. The bar was ultimately pretty crowded through the end of happy hour but thinned out once happy hour concluded. The dining areas were the opposite; not very busy when we first arrived but got busier and busier the later it got. It was very nice the entire time we were there. It wasn't too loud despite the restaurant being crowded. As I mentioned before, there were some items on happy hour that were a very good deal. Select cocktails were $6. I started with a Lemon Drop martini -- I can't pass up a $6 martini -- which I enjoyed. It was very tart and smooth. My dad ordered a happy hour margarita which he liked enough to order another. After browsing the Happy Hour food menu, I decided on mussels in Fra Diavolo sauce and we each got a burger. The bowl of mussels was large, the mussels tender, and the Fra Diavolo had just the right amount of heat and was delicious enough to eat by itself with a spoon. We were provided complimentary pizza bread (which was very good) and a loaf of warm, soft bread perfect for dipping in the sauce the mussels were served in. The burgers were $10 each and served with chips, but we chose a $1.50 up-charge for fries. Not the greatest burger I've ever had but a great deal for $11.50 and something I'd order again on happy hour. Burgers were served topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese. I thought the bartenders were attentive and professional all night. While they were busy mixing drinks and pouring beers they always found time to make their rounds and check on their patrons. La Camp is a great restaurant in a rather remote area with not many other eateries around. Whether you're looking to have a couple of drinks at the bar, a quiet dinner for two, or a celebratory dinner for a special occasion, La Camp would be a fantastic option no matter the instance. read more

After seeing reviews I wanted to make my own decision. I'm glad I came! This place was great. I wasn't sure about what I would encounter from the reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. From the warm greeting, to the warm welcoming inside. The bar area looks great and like a lot of fun. When we were leaving a band was getting ready to play. We were seated in the main dining room. (We had a reservation, I actually called and they set it up...open table just says there are no availability) We had a waitress who explained all the specials, and a second help to make sure our waters were full, plates removed, etc. The food was very good. We had the mozzarella and Parmesan arancini. Wow, delicious. Dinners come with soup or salad, we had the onion soup and pasta fagiol. Both delicious! I had the crab and shrimp fra diablo...it was amazing. The pasta was the perfect al dente and had a lot of crab and 5 shrimp. We also had the vodka rigatoni and meatballs. Once again, awesome. We stuffed ourselves with the tiramisu and cappuccino.... again delicious. They had a lot of the menu I want to try, as well as hear the live music and take advantage of the happy hours... definitely will be back. read more

Well, I have a new addiction... Chef Mike's Spaghetti Bolognese. Seriously, I'd say it's as good as homemade, but it's SO much better than homemade. I don't know what he does to make it so delicious. Have been there many times for dinner and family gatherings. Service is always great, Debbie is our favorite server. The menu has changed and my favorite Scallop dish has been discontinued. Amazing food got the delmonico and it was perfectly cooked. Along with the perfect steak I got the side of the potato's augratin as my side and it was just amazing. I was so pleased with my food I had to ask the manager Stephanie to send out the cooks who prepared this for me and she send out two men Jayden and Joey all dressed up in the jackets and such I was very impressed. This was our first visit to La Campagnola. I was looking for prime rib and they were recommended. Everything from the hosts, the ambiance and the food was impressive. The prime rib was delicious. Went there tonight for my birthday. It was very underwhelming considering I live nearby and had begged for my wife to try it with me. The vibe was off from the very beginning. A patron who was waiting stared at us and said we were going to have to fight to be seated next. I said no, you're off the hook because we had a reservation. No one greeted us and we had to pursue through folks idling near the hostess area. My wife told the hostess about my birthday and it wasn't related to the waitress. They sat us at a two top which was squeezed between a very busy area that lead to another room and a 4 seater where we were very close to the other patrons. First Chase came to us and introduced himself as our waiter. Minutes later a waitress came and said she would be our server. Yellow flag came when I asked the young lady who seated us and the hostess if there were any standout entrees. They didn't show any conviction and basically said everything is pretty good. The specials that were rattled off were in excess of $40. The vodka pasta which I got was $25 and if one wanted chicken or shrimp (3 pieces), it would cost $8-9 extra. I compared the food and pricing to an excellent Italian restaurant in Jersey City where the food, service, ambience, and pricing were much superior. My wife ordered angel hair pasta with eggplant Parmesan and it was mediocre at best. My vodka pasta was soupy (little watery) and lacked the rich flavor of superior Italian restaurants. The service was off because annoying assisting waiters who would remove a dish from my table without saying anything, filling my wife's water and not mine (despite me saying yes), prematurely removing the calamari which had small rings and not worth the $15+ price tag, and asking to remove our dessert plates when we were actively eating. The cappuccinos were okay, had to send the pasta back because it was lukewarm and the ricotta cheesecake was tart due to the lemon and lacking any taste. My wife's baked cookie with ice cream was ok. Garden salad was actually a decent amount and was fresh complete with cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, etc. The salad being the highlight of my meal was a big letdown. Live music was being played but the acoustics were off and they didn't sound that good. It was a very weird, odd vibe, with mediocre at best food with high prices. Waiting for my wife at the front before we left made me notice the assistant hostess on her personal cell phone and two other employee chatting not even making eye contact with me. My husband ordered the filet and broccoli rabe and I ordered the Gorgonzola penne dish. To our delight, they had Stella draft which was great. EVERYONE BEWARE: I ordered takeout from the LC on Saturday (8/31), and after I left with my order, I received a text alert that my credit card was charged $10 extra on my $21 takeout bill. This was not a mistake, as someone from the LC gave themselves a $10 tip. I called the LC immediately, and the young woman who answered the phone was of no help. I love this spot hidden in the woods on Oaktree Road. The decor is quaint and beautiful. Makes me feel like I'm on vacation dining. The bread is amazing. Good is always fresh and delicious. I highly recommend the chicken parmigiana. So so good! The burrata and tomato appetizer is so flavorful. I also love their red sangria. They soak the fruit, which a lot of places don't do anymore. We had dinner at La Campagnola for the first time last night. We were eagerly greeted by Grace. She is super sweet and noted that it was our first visit to their restaurant. I would swear she was having us to her dinner table! We waited a few for a table so we had a drink at the bar. The bar is well stocked with plenty of beer selections and it has an extensive alcohol/wine list. We were seated shortly after by Grace. We then were greeted by our server, Caroline and shortly after by Emily, her busser. I felt like we were in someone's dining room in a home because everyone was so welcoming. Caroline told us that, since it was our first visit, Spiedini was on them. Spiedini is a wee bit of heaven. It is a gooey delight of cheesy bread on a bed of tomato sauce. Holy cow it was good. We each had a piece and had the rest wrapped to take home. Salad is included with dinner and the creamy balsamic dressing is perfection. My husband ordered chicken parm (which he is a connoisseur of) and it was massive and delicious. I ordered chicken and broccoli alfredo which was more of a Alfredo/Marsala. It was surprisingly delicious. I am used to heavy white alfredo and was pleasantly surprised by the lightness of this dish even though it usually is very heavy. We had a peanut bomb to share for dessert and enjoyed a bottle of Jordan Cabernet with dinner. All in all this restaurant was a true find with a staff of delightful people including Adrea, the GM who visited our table during the night. They have live music several nights a week and we look forward to coming again and trying out the bar area/food while listing to music. My only wish was that the live music was piped into the dining room. I felt like we missed out on some true talent and, if the music is piped in at a reasonable level, it would have been a more perfect night. The crowd was a mix of young couples on dates, families, groups of friends, young and old. It is perfect for everyone. Also note that I tried several times to get a reservation via OpenTable and could not get one so I called and I immediately got a time that was unavailable on that site. Horrible customer service. Me and my friends arrived during around 2:12pm and after waiting 5mins the hostess said it would be another 5 mins to be seated.... The restaurant was empty. After 10 mins we were finally allowed to sit down. We ordered our appetizer which was fried calamari, which was cold and chewy. My entrée was the pasta, Bolognese, and it couldn't be more greasier. My cousin ordered the meatball sandwich that was hard and dry and after asking for her sandwich with a side of roasted potatoes, she was given french fries. Again, there were only two people in the dining room, and we had to wait at least until 3:45 PM to get our food When we arrived at 2:12pm. Last but not least the manager was reprimanding a server in front of us in the dining room instead of taking the server into the back, she embarrassed him. I love it here! My family and I have made this our "special occasions place". We live in Medford so fortunately it is close by. We came here when both my brother and I graduated 8th grade and when I graduated high school! It's the perfect place to bring all your family from out of town! They have big tables and some private areas for family parties! I haven't been here since before COVID, so I'm unsure of their precautions. Also, I only remember what I got from my last visit, but thankfully I have a picture! Overall, their food is delicious (from what I've tried), their staff is nice, and the ambience is amazing! I've been to this restaurant a few times before and was always quite pleased and the last time was just a few months ago. Made a reservation for 630. It was my birthday arrived a little early, but was seated promptly. The table we were given was right next to the service door, but we didn't mind that because it was a nice cozy "romantic" table, we felt like we had privacy and it was nice and quiet. . I had a pomegranate martini. It was excellent. For an appetizer I had the clams casino which I've had there before. They were definitely not up to snuff very little clam and not attached, which means that shells were just filled , I did an upgrade on my soup for the she crab bisque. That was very good. I order the Laccosti chicken entrée I thought I had it before but it was OK. Not great. . My husband had the calamari. He said it was fine which means it wasn't great. He had the salad which you know it was a salad then he ordered the seafood risotto which, the last time he had there he told the waitress it was the best risotto he's ever had this time when I asked him how it was again it was fine which I've already discussed. That means it wasn't that great. The waitress came with our bill and then she said oh my goodness it's her birthday and she did bring me a very good slice of a lemon cello cake gratis. The restaurant is pricey, so I am not sure whether we will return. There are many other Italian restaurants in the Shamong/Medford /Marlton area. The service was good. The drinks were good. It was nothing like Chicken Marsala. It had tomato sauce and sundried tomatoes and tasted sweet, like they'd put sugar in it. It was like spaghetti with chicken. We Went on a rainy Sunday night, the place did have some empty tables and why she decides to sit us in front of the kitchen entrance is beyond me. I knew that one of us would be in the way of every staff member going in and out of the kitchen .So right away we asked to move and she was even more annoyed with us now. However the waitstaff was phenomenal. Never had empty glass of water. Plates always cleared promptly. Our waiter was friendly, prompt and attentive. Not to mention that the food was so yummy. la Campagnola has been a favorite for many years. The last couple times we have been there we've been asked to get up from our table after two hours. We had a table of 11 and were drinking the entire time. We were with friends that we don't see often. I don't like feeling rushed! The bartenders were so friendly and so cool that we decided to stay put for dinner. - Jersey tomatoes and burrata - beautiful fresh basil atop this simple yet tasty appetizer. - She-crab soup - is there a "He-crab" out there? Nice chunks of crab in a silky smooth bisque. - Indian Mills Salad - cranberries, goat cheese, walnuts, tomatoes, cucumbers...all Jersey fresh. - Chicken Milanese - Sexylove really enjoyed this dish. I should have taken an "after" photo of his plate. It was devoured with a smile. - Shrimp and Calamari Fra Diavolo - it could have been a bit spicier, but it was nothing a little crushed red pepper didn't aid. The penne was perfectly al dente. Overcooked pasta makes me want to scream my head off. He and I split a sensational banana crepe dessert (I can't recall the name). Crispy without being greasy. The ice cream complimented it nicely. So flippin' good! I want to call La Campagnola a "hidden gem" but it is probably only hidden in my eyes since I am just learning this area.
