But our server was not particularly attentive! The baked brie was absolutely wonderful! My dining companions each had a build your own pizza. What a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere! I was looking through places in the area to go for my birthday dinner and stumbled upon this place, which had great reviews already. I made a reservation and upon arriving, my family was seated right away. My dad and his girlfriend had already been at the bar for a while, where many people raved about the restaurant. The first food to arrive at our table was the bread-- the one that came with the restaurant's sauce on it was so good! For appetizers, we had mussels and pork belly (a special that night), which did not disappoint. Each of our mess came with salad/soup. I absolutely loved their house Creamy Balsamic dressing. For my main course, I had shrimp scampi. It was delicious-- I especially liked the amount of the lemon in it. Around the table, we also had chicken parm (their best seller), something with fra diavolo sauce, and Pasta Campagnola, which had prosciutto, onion and peas in a light cream sauce. Everyone loved their meals and had plenty of leftovers. We were so stuffed that we had no room for dessert. This is considered a top Italian restaurant in South Jersey, and I can see why. Even sitting at the bar, the full menu is available and the bar staff behaves like great, dedicated table waiters, giving attentive and pleasant service. Really good entree selection. Spiedini, Yuengling shrimp were fun at the bar. For the table, Authentic Caesar salad; the ahi tuna salad was perfectly done. Sea scallops, yellow fin, and crab cakes were all nicely prepared. This is a 3-3.5 star neighborhood Italian spot. I had the spaghetti and meatball dinner with the pasta e fagioli as a to go order. Pasta e fagioli- very good soup. It had a very nicely seasoned Tomato broth. It had plenty of cannelloni beans and high quality stewed tomatoes. It was however, missing the pasta or it least mine was missing it. Pasta- It was cooked to a perfect al dente. However, this was a boxed spaghetti, which is ok if you're not charging 20$ for the meal. Also, whom ever the cook was did not season the water prior to cooking the pasta causing it to be very bland. Sauce- imagine opening a can of puréed tomatoes and calling it good. This sauce was overly acidic and lacked balance. Meatball- this meal came with two large meatballs. I could only finish one before I was stuffed. The meatballs were very tender and did not have a lot of fillers. It did have a overly garlicky taste. Which if you're a garlic person, I'm sure you'd enjoy these. Overall, I'll have to give something else a try from here. But spaghetti and meatballs are pretty basic and they missed the mark. read more

Service: attentive, friendly with a somewhat annoyed by questions vibe. Bus boy is way over the top with trying to take away dishes that are not even half finished. Felt rushed. Felt uncomfortable with how he stood over top and lingered waiting to swoop in to take plates away, yet somehow we also ended up with completely empty plates from appetizer to desert. Food: Was presented nicely. I particularly had a problem with my food. I have celiac and am Gluten free. They were very untrustworthy as far as knowledge of what was gluten free. You can tell the cooks in the back are not true Italian for an "Italian" restaurant. I was told a specific salad dressing was gluten free, then later told it had "corn starch" so they weren't sure?? My salad had a lot of old rotten pieces in the plate. So I picked most of it apart, and ate it without dressing. The salmon that they assured me would be cooked separate, WITHOUT the crusting or sauce, came out with both. So I had to send it back. After waiting while everyone else ate; they brought out another plate they assured was cooked to be Gluten free... (plain) was not. I ended up throwing up all night. Price for the size of my salmon and 5 smaller than grape tomatoes sized potatoes was over priced. Overall: To inconsistent, and unknowledgeable in the culinary arts. I would consider this place to be decent. If you do not have any dietary restrictions and don't mind spending a lot of money per dish, plus a lot of up charges then you might enjoy it. read more

La Campagnola is one of my new favorite restaurants! My boyfriend and I received a gift card and decided to grab dinner here last night. The food was out of this world. But that wasn't the only thing that was incredible. Our server, Debbie, was so sweet and pleasant. From the wide selection of wines, to the fresh chicken milanese and some unbelievable CRIPSY chicken parmesan (a rare feat to accomplish!), to our perfectly cooked calamari -- I swear, I've tasted this food once before in my dreams. It's pricey, but for the quality of the food and experience that you receive it is completely worth every cent. I am eagerly awaiting our next trip back!! read more

Went to dinner with friends on Saturday night. We were greeted by the owner, a pleasant woman. Once seated, our waiter was named Alex. He was also very pleasant and attentive. The appetizers were very tasty as was the meal. My wife ordered the crab cakes and she remarked that they were excellent, mostly lump crabmeat. My friend's wife had scallops and was also very pleased. My friend ordered eggplant parmigiana and had to take it home since he couldn't finish it all. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was the largest portion I had ever been served. My pasta was gnocchi and they were excellent as well. I hadn't been there in over ten years but it's nice to know that the food was still as excellent as I remember. We will definitely be back soon. read more

My wife & I went out to dinner here with my sister & her husband. This is restaurant is everything you would expect from an Italian roadhouse restaurant. Great atmosphere, intimate setting, and great service. There's a full bar with local craft beers and the kitchen buys locally sourced meats and vegetables. Each of us ordered a different item and everyone was impressed with dinner. We ordered the pork chop, duck breast, chef's steak, and veal piccata. Everyone had a taste of the other plates and they were all excellent. We lingered around awhile and had coffee and dessert, and again it was all good. I recently had lunch here with a dear friend. I can only say that the food and staff were wonderful. However, we were subjected to listening to Fox News during our entire dining experience. There are several televisions in view and the sound was not muted. I have to admit that I was offended not only because I find Fox News offensive but that I was being delivered any political view when all I wanted was to enjoy lunch with my friend.
