Wonderful chic restaurant with unique flair to their menu. The staff makes you feel like you are dining amongst friends. Highly recommended and a great respite after an active day in Paris.

It's not often that I take advice from a YouTube channel called "Les Frenchies," featuring a woman…read morewho sports striped sailor sweaters and a sensible haircut, but in this case I did, and I think I've been very wrong about the Frenchies thus far. Because in this case, THEY KNEW THEIR STUFF. I loathe oysters with the heat of 10,000 suns, so I had the paté. It was just fine - tasty, and served with plenty of little toast points. But the paté isn't the point of this place. The point is the oysters, and they are divine. My husband had a dozen of their second-least-expensive oysters and he pronounced them amazing - splendid - SUPERB. They are beyond fresh, served on a proper platter with a tall base, and come with a wonderful bottle of vinegar that's aged in cognac casks. He was warned to use only a drop or two, or it will "kill the taste of the oysters." I don't know about that, but I do know that I tried a drop, and I have never tasted anything like it. It was OMG so good. The oysters come with bread - a basket of sturdy slices of what I think was sourdough rye. He had a glass of Bourgogne Aligoté (white), which was eye-wateringly expensive but very, very good. I had a glass of pinot noir, also of very high quality. The restaurant is very small - maybe 10 tables, including the 3 outside - and looks clean and fresh and chic. We sat outside in the warm sun and fresh breeze and had a delightful dining experience. Wait staff are sweet. No one rushes you. It isn't a touristy joint AT ALL, which is lovely to experience in Paris. My only warning is that if you are a larger person, perch carefully upon the chairs. I thought mine was going to collapse at one point. But it didn't. :-) And the oysters were superb.

Had the oysters since that's what they are known for, but they weren't served ice cold as I…read morewould've expected and preferred. There was a smattering of ice on the tray but certainly not enough to keep the oysters cold. That said, perhaps this is how the French serve them. These were the only whelk of the trip that had sand in them. And, service was underwhelming. I think a party seated after us was served drinks first and I had to walk to the bar to ask for my check. There, I was ignored until I said something. Then, I asked if I should pay at the bar and they replied, "If you want." They clearly were not ashamed that I was compelled to seek out my check on foot. It was just poor service for a $$$ place. Though, the fois gras pate and smoked scallops were quite good. There are so many other great seafood places in Paris; I wouldn't recommend this one.

Just finished a long bike ride to the Eiffel Tower and worked up an appetite. Decided to go straight to the main course. They are known for Au Gratins. My son is not a cheese fan so he opted for the norvigene (smoked salmon in dill lemon and EVOO. I decided to stick with the house specialty; Landais Au Gratin (cream potatoes, duck breast and emmental cheese). The 2 German girls beside me ordered a cider with both their meals so I followed their lead. When in Paris...... Considering the temperature, I almost second-guess myself and ordered something other than their house specialty of au gratin potatoes. In the end, I was very glad I overruled that thought. Brody enjoyed his meal. He just appeared to still be hungry when it was done and a 16 year-old boy that normally has a high caloric intake, I can understand why he wanted a second meal after eating his first! The restaurant in the patio were quite crowded even though we had reservations. They still sat us within five minutes of arrival. Not that five minutes is a long time to wait, but it was still worth the wait as good as the food tasted. We both enjoyed our meals.

THE FOOD ------------------…read more= Fermier - Cheese gratin with chicken was good. Didn't blow me away, but was solid with the creaminess of the sliced potatoes and emmental cheese combined together with mixed vegetables. The cheese was very strong though, so anything else was unfortunately pretty much overpowered by it. Arrived with bread, but it DEFINITELY could use other carb options to sop it all up (e.g., rice???)! = Landais - Cheese gratin with duck. Same comment as the above, except the Landais had egg and goat cheese also mixed in with almost the same ingredients as the Fermier. THE SERVICE ----------------------- + The lone waitress, who also worked the role as greeter, cashier and bartender was friendly. + Food arrived within 10 minutes of ordering. THE SURROUNDINGS ------------------------------------ = Small, tight restaurant. = Not many tables inside - 6 in total. + Located a few blocks away from the more touristy restaurants, towards the East, on a much quieter street. RANDOM OBSERVATIONS -------------------------------------- = Nada.

Mussels were a bit too small for my liking. Foods were so good we returned another day. This time we ordered grilled shrimps and they were so good we ordered more. For seafoods, freshness is key. And they nail it. Foods came out super fast both times. Especially no rude Parisian attitude we encountered sometimes. We were surprised foods could be that good in such a touristy area. Highly recommend.

When walking by Huguette on a tour of Saint-Germain my guide called it out as a good restaurant,…read moreknown for its seafood. Shortly after the tour I sent him a WhatsApp message asking again what the name of that recommended spot was, then made my way there. I didn't ask a whole lot of Huguette at lunchtime and, since I didn't focus on fresh seafood I possibly didn't get the best of their offerings. Drinks, French Onion Soup, and Fish & Chips were all that I sampled in this casual bistro and though perfectly fine, this meal was easily forgettable if not for the huge, apron-clad polar bear out front welcoming guests to Huguette. Nothing about my experience here would dissuade me from returning for more drinks and - because it appears a specialty - some fresh oysters. On the flip side though, nothing I sampled would cause me to run right back. From what I tried, it was difficult to understand why my guide had recommended Huguette at all. Good enough, but I do imagine there's better meals to be enjoyed in the area.
