    Came here to experience traditional French dishes as a tourist in Paris! Got the escargot, beef tartare, foie gras salad, fish of the day, salmon carpaccio salad, and my favorite, roasted duck. Oh my, I have never craved duck until I came here. It was nice that they had an English menu, definitely use their QR code to get that as the waitresses and waiters did not speak English. But that's when you know, you are about to experience great French cuisine. The restaurant gets very loud specially during dinner. The only down side was the very slow customer service.

    Very cute little French brasserie! Old school hinter's lounge decor and the old couple servers were fun. Not fine dining service. But family style. If it's group, food be served family style on big platters. Tasty lamb, escargots, duck breasts were tender juicy and huge in portion. We went on a national holiday and the jacked up price was still lower than what you would have spent in a mediocre French restaurant in USA. Tiny & cozy space though. Near Notre Dame & metro. The French fries! Heavenly.

    Excellent taste à la parisienne. This is what the locals eat traditionally. The menu offers plats du jour where an entrée+plat or plat+dessert à 16,50 € only. It's a really great deal!! I had the veal in an onion and mushroom sauce with fries mixed into it. The recommended wine matched the entrée really well, making the whole meal almost perfect!!! Ah!!!

    Another great dinner in Paris. What can I say, it's hard to go wrong with food in this city. One of the larger restaurants in the area in terms of floor size and with some really fun French-country themed decor. Our food came with potatoes that ended up just getting liberally soaked with the various meat sauces and the dessert was fabulous.

    This is one of our favorite restaurants in all of Paris. Quaint and humble. Like having dinner in someone's home. We visit for the wine, escargot and duck in prune sauce. The flavor is like no other. We visited first in 2013 on a recommendation and we're sure to visit and again in 2017 (twice) Le Trumilou offers a simple yet elegant dining experience. Reservations are recommended.

My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster.
