Steak Ranchero. Also came with corn or flour tortillas and also a small bag of chips.
Shelly S.

Have been a few times but first post. Placed an order to go for Steak Ranchero and Super Nachos with carnitas. Decided to try their Pineapple Coconut Margarita (not sure if that is the correct name or not as forgot to take a pic of the drink specials). Sat down and started to take a few sips of my drink, which tasted fabulous btw) and the waitress was already setting out food down in front of us. The restaurant was quaint and clean. They took cash but seemed better equipped to take credit cards. When we got the food back to our airbnb it was still piping hot and looked delicious. The Steak Ranchero was good but a little spicy for my dad. The nachos were really good but could have used a few more chips. They can also be shared as there was plenty for 2 people. Overall, would return and recommend. Would have given 5 stars but like I said above the nachos needed more chips.

Always a consistently grand experience! The service staff is warm and welcoming. It's seems like you've just stopped by to have a meal with cherished family members. Lots of windows allowing you to enjoy nature, wildlife and beautiful sunsets. So many great things on the menu, but enjoy the chips and fresh made verde and roja salsas. A special desert this time was a fresh made cheesecake with raspberry coulee!

Super burrito, enchiladas suizas, taco salad, chips and salsa.

During a girls weekend trip to Bodega Bay, we decided to come here because we were all craving chips and salsa. Its off the highway, not really hidden but if you blink you could miss it. There is plenty of parking. It was a Friday night and it was pretty busy for the dinner crowd, but luckily we were able to get seated right away inside. They had both indoor and outdoor options. My friends got the taco salad and the enchiladas suizas. I got the carne asada super burrito and we all shared the churros. Service was great, our food came out quickly. Our server was friendly and helpful when we asked her questions about the menu. I really loved their salsa roja that they served with the chips! The burrito was good, but nothing particular about it that made it stand out. The portion was big too with lots of fillings. My friends enjoyed their food. At the end of eating our entrees we decided to get dessert and we opted for the churros. I am not a big churro person, because normally you get the frozen and then warmed up variety, but these were authentic. It took a little while for the churros to come out because the server said that they were making them fresh, AND they were. Hot and filled with chocolate and with a serving of vanilla ice cream in the middle of the plate. They were delightful! We weren't rushed and we were able to have dinner in peace.

Service was great, food came out fast, just missing that wow factor ... Had chile Verde and a wet burrito that were both great. We were the only patrons in the restaurant which was nice. Our server was a little overbearing but delivered great service. It was probably just because we were the only people in the restaurant. Good beer selection, wish there were more specialty cocktails. Overall, cool spot on the outskirts of Bodega Bay. Will probably return during my next visit to Bodega Bay!

Fish and chips

I'm obsessed with this restaurant and frequently drive the hour + to get the crab enchiladas! There is some magic in this kitchen and the love & craft pours out of all their dishes. The fish and chips are also excellent - deep fried on a whole other level while the fish inside is so tender and juicy.

We camped at the RV park behind this restaurant and at the spur-of-the-moment laziness attack, we decided not to cook and just walk over to this joint. Now, my friends had been to this place previously, but this was my first. I wasn't all that hungry, but once the food arrived, my buddy had the mole' dish, his wife the wet burrito and I the meat quesadilla, all were good. I consider myself a competent judge of (Anglo) Mexican cuisine living in San Francisco as we have a ton of very competitive south of the border eateries of various levels and this place can hold its own against the city-folks. My only criticism is their price, they charge beyond their pay grade, but then again, they're one of the only game in town which has very few players. So, I give them three-points as this place doesn't quite agree with me in terms of food/price value. The food is very good, but it comes at a steeper price than it should. P.S. My buddy's beef mole' came with a lot of great sauce, but to harken back to the 90's, "where's the beef?"

skip this place. the mole poblanos and huevos rancheros we ordered were disappointing. the chicken in the mole was so dry, and the sauce was just sweet, lacking any real flavor. the huevos rancheros were also underwhelming and bland. we walked over without checking reviews and deeply regretted it -- should have stuck to the cafe next door.

This place is so freaking good, period. Just come here to eat. Every single time we come to Bodega Bay, we eat here. The food is so flavorful, fresh, and delicious. The service is amazing and their chips are so good! I don't know forsure but I think they are made there because they are so good and the green sauce with it is delish. You honestly can't go wrong with any dish here. Also my hubby got the special, half chicken, literally came right off the bone that's how soft it was and so much protein packed!

The menu is basic items you can find at most places in the area. We ordered fish and chips, and fish tacos from the walk up window. The only seating for the cafe is outside, however they also have a small coffee shop next door with indoor seating. Overall, the food was just mediocre. We have had these menu items at other places nearby, so we felt like we were able to make a good comparison. The fish in the fish and chips order was heavily breaded and over fried to the point that the breading was hard. Fries were average. My fish tacos had small pieces of fish that were heavily breaded and overly-fried. Large pieces of cabbage were scattered over them, and some sort of green sauce drizzled on the top. Not much taste. The tortillas were soft with good flavor. The venue is lovely, as is the gift shop and coffee shop, bathroom clean. I'd go back to the coffee and gift shop, but would pass on another meal from the cafe.

I have visited Fishetarian many times, and it is consistently amazing in every way! Everyone I know…read morewho has been there says the same thing. It is SO worth the drive to Bodega Bay! Here's the scoop: Everything they prepare is fresh and well done. Their fish and chips, and fish tacos lightly coated, fried to a delicate perfection. Moist, plump and delicious. The calamari is always done perfectly, never overcooked or chewy, but buttery soft. If you've never had calamari, try it here first and it is bound to set the bar too high for any other place you try it. You can order outside a kiosks, or get in line inside. There is a cooler of drinks (soda, kombucha, iced tea, etc) each for $5.00. The small but mighty menu is posted on the wall behind the register, and they do offer gluten free options. I usually share an order of fish and chips, or get the crab cakes which are very large, tender and filled with crab. Fries are offered with meals, or there is a delicious kale salad you can have instead, which is really yummy. Sweet treats like cookies, cheesecake, rice krispie bars etc are near the checkout register. They have sundries, and t-shirts which were moved to the porch and fun to look over. There is a fun "sauce station" near the exit, where you can fill small paper cups with tartar sauce, Maui Zowy sauce, cocktail sauce, etc, and a water dispenser with filtered water. Recently they completed a renovation, and expanded covered seating just behind the main building, open at both ends so the bay can be seen. There are heaters above the tables inside this area, perfect if the air is chilly. Also standing heater towers near the picnic tables in the front. They added a few more portable (higher end) portable toilets on site, which are kept super clean without any smell. And the staff are super helpful and patient ( like when you are ordering food and want it all and cannot decide what to get!). Eating at the Fishetarian is amazing and so worth the drive to the bay.

Fish and chips were okay, had been cooked a second time and dark brown color that peeled off the fish dripping grease. Chowder was okay. Period. Nothing to write home about. There is better food nearby. Sorry we ate here. Counter help said, "well it gets served when it is done, yours just took longer." Same foods widely misplaced in line. Not a fan.

The tartar sauce could be better, the coating on the fried fish was crispy and did not have too much oil. The fries were just okay. Small parking lot in front, I can see it overfilling during weekends or holidays. All greet you warmly as you enter and leave their delightful restaurant. But the food--wow!! Best crab cakes ever--perfectly crispy on the outside, with moist, succulent flesh and an exceptional remoulade that complements beautifully. Scallops were likewise superb. Main dishes were served piping hot, crazily not easy for many restaurants to accomplish. But absolutely essential for my family of foodies. The pasta was out of this world with the rock shrimp and veggies, and such savory umami! The salmon was seared on the outside and tender and flavorful. Fish stew had a sublimely subtle fennel broth with clams, salmon and potatoes. We had to sop up the broth at the end. Desserts did not disappoint--and just as with food temperature, this is not a given. The chocolate cake was super solid. And then we tasted the 100% perfect passion fruit cheesecake. When we first arrived, the vibes were a bit stand-offish. Although it was a busy evening, no one bothered to pay us a glance or check in. Eventually, the waitress that had been closest in proximity to us had told another waiter to attend to us. I had noticed that throughout the night, whenever someone would walk in, that same waitress would openly and happily greet them which I found a bit odd/interesting. For food, my husband and I ordered to share: Mediterranean fish stew, homemade campanelle pasta, side of their sourdough bread, and the Akaushi American Wagyu Strip Steak. This ended up being the perfect amount of food for us; I can't imagine ordering any less, as portions are a bit small here. Additionally, this is the first restaurant we've been to where they actually divide the plates into 2 even servings for you, which was thoughtful. My least favorite dish of the night was their steak -- mine seemed to have required a touch of salt whereas I tasted my husband's and his was fine, even though they were supposed to be from the same strip. Uneven seasoning dispersement? The other 2 entrees were perfectly seasoned. Overall, I'd come back again for dinner but do wish service was more balanced. We had no issues with our own server though. It's a cozy and charming restaurant for dinner at Bodega Bay.
