    7 hour Lamb
    Gerry P.

for some 10 years or more since they have moved into this location, it has been my favorite restaurant in Paris. The seating is tight., not complaining, just grateful as each time I have been there I have made a new friend family run business is like a well oiled machine that never slows down on their performance of fine delivery of an exquisite meal. I look forward to my next visit.

Really good restaurant with fabulous food. Best to have a reservation as it's small and nearly always busy. Service is good. The duck terrine is absolutely scrumptious. I had the lamb that had been slow cooked for Seven hours surrounded by sautéed potatoes and vegetables. Absolutely delicious, the sauce the texture, the flavour all fantastic. My wife had the cod which was also so tasty. The Cotes du Bourg red wine was also magnificent. The open kitchen is also pretty cool to watch the chef at work.

We came here for dinner on our first night in Paris after our friend recommended it and I'm glad we did, we made our reservation earlier in the day and we were able to sit for a dinner that night at 9pm, the seating here is tight so you will be very close to the next table in most cases but with that being said it does feel cozy yet comfortable. The staff was all nice, they spoke English and had English menus as well. We had some wine by the glass for about 5 euro each, for entrees I had the rib eye steak with potatoes and legume with chimichurri sauce, my wife had the risotto with chicken, both dishes were amazing and were the perfect serving size, for dessert my wife had the pistachio creme brûlée which she really enjoyed, I had the caramelized apple with almond and vanilla ice cream which was amazing! This place is great it was our best meal in Paris and is a must visit!

Last night in Paris we came her for dinner. Before you go call and make a reservation!!! Such a great dining experience, very small place so the interior is warm. The design is awesome! Wine boxes all over the walls and old magazine pages made into a wall paper. Very modern and hip with some classic pieces throughout. My aunt and uncle have been coming here since it was in the original location. Both the chef/owner and waiter (related to the owner) knew them and said hi. Food was amazing, semi open kitchen where you can see everything being made. I got the angel hair pasta incrusted shrimp with guacamole for my starter and chicken with gnocchi for my main. We ended with a warm milk and white chocolate cake and fruit tart for dessert. Everything was amazing. We started with champagne, had a bottle of red and they gave us a complimentary dessert wine that paired with what we got. Not sure if that the norm or if it was because it was my birthday.

We stumbled upon this excellent restaurant in the trendy Marais neighbourhood, near Place des Vosges. This gem of a place felt cosy, rustic and edgy all at once, a stylish feat that perhaps only the French can pull off. We perused the 2 course lunch prix fixe which was a very reasonable 16,50€ but as we had already made dessert plans elsewhere, we opted instead to order à la carte. I sampled a King Prawn Salad, a deliciously wholesome and rather substantial appetizer for only 13,50€.The crisp salad leaves and tomatoes were garden fresh, the guacamole tasted freshly made. The featured large prawns had a salinity and sweetness that is reminiscent of the sea. Flavour aside, they were also first wrapped in angel hair pasta then fried, offering up a superb textural contrast to the rest of the salad. Delightful. We also enjoyed an outstanding Grilled Rib-Eye Steak which was not only succulent but also full of flavour. Even the accompanying sautéed haricot verts and potatoes were incredibly yummy, as was the carrot and sweet potato mash. Last but not least, we savoured a Grilled Duck Breast which was remarkably tender and juicy despite us requesting for it to be cooked well done. It was perfectly executed, and as usual, the equally scrumptious accompaniments - sautéed mushrooms and peppers, and mashed potatoes were all vying to steal the show! Kudos to the chef at L'Ange 20 whose approach to French cuisine is refreshingly contemporary. Coupled with top notch ingredients and a deft hand, the food here is spectacularly good. Another positive sign - ardent local fans. Earlier on, we were standing outside studying its menu and wondering whether to go in...when an elderly French patron came out singing praises of its food. A ringing endorsement from a very satisfied customer.

My wife and I were here on our last night in Paris and this place stunned us with how amazing it was. Small, quaint place that allows you to peak in the kitchen while your meal is prepared. We didn't have a reservation, but they sat us right next to the bar right away. Nicholas ( I believe was our server) was super friendly and helped us right away. My wife knew she wanted the risotto, I was up in the air over the lamb or the duck. He said without question to get the lamb, and was he ever right. The flavors of the meat were impeccable. There was a nice pepper corn finish on top of the meat that was a terrific accent. There was a sauce underneath the vegetables that I could drink up. The only thing bad about the dish was that I finished it too soon. My wife couldn't stop raving about the risotto, and so I tried it and I could have easily stolen her dish from here and finished it. There was so much mushroom flavor! Then there was the deserts. Just leave room. This place was super local, very welcoming, and we've already decided that when we come back to Paris we are coming back here for the rest of the menu.

L'Ange 20 was recommended by my wife's coworker so we made reservations a few months prior to our arrival. Located fairly close to Louis XIII square, this restaurant is fairly accessible from the subway stop. The restaurant is fairly small since they really pack in the tables and quickly filled up shortly after we arrived. One thing to note is that it can get stuffy inside so do dress comfortably. I started my meal with their onion soup which was one of the best I've ever had. Most places tend to prepare this dish on the salty side but L'Ange 20 had it seasoned perfectly. If only the restaurant had AC it would've been better. Be warned that it is rich so I started to get full after eating the entire bowl of the soup. For my main dish, I opted once again for steak thus ordering their ribeye. The ribeye was well seasoned but the chimichurri or pesto sauce (whatever it was) was hella tasty. The green beans were sauteed perfectly. I wished they would've served fries with this dish instead of the pan fried potatoes. For dessert we opted to try their pistachio creme brulee and an espresso to go along with it. The espresso was tasty and though the creme brulee was good, the texture seemed to be slightly off. I had expected a more smooth custardy texture. Would recommend this restaurant but do make reservations ahead of time as this place gets super packed. Service was amazing and everyone there was super friendly.

    Escargot and gizzards.

Dinner at L'Ange 20 was a gift from my son for my trip to Paris with my girlfriend. We had a great time, great service and great food! Everything we had was really delicious, and the lamb fondant dish was amazing, highly recommend!!

This was one of the best Paris restaurants we went to. The quality of the food was superb. You must try the foie gras here, they had the best I had in my whole trip. It's worth going to this place just for the foie gras. This is a local gem worth indulging in.

We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

It was a cute little spot with plenty of seating and a small bar right up front. The problem was that it's so cramped in there. They fully pack that place pretty tight in there. While they take walk-ins, they were so busy that had we not had a reservations we likely wouldn't have gotten a table in a reasonable timeframe. I think we waited about 15-20 minutes outside until our table was ready. As for service, while they weren't exactly rude, they for sure weren't exactly friendly either. This was also a spot that didn't cater too much to tourists by having English on the menu. I don't fault them for that though, it's their country. I would recommend having a translator app at the ready though with French downloaded. As for the food it was a bit of a letdown for me. We had a number of items to share with each other. Without having reliable signal in Paris, it was hard to use the translator app so I'll do my best with the foods. We ordered a ratatouille (don't think it was a traditional one though), a shrimp dish, white sauce pasta, escargot, duck breast and the chocolate mousse. The ratatouille was OK but was just like a roughly chopped cooked vegetable dish. The shrimp dish was fine as well but nothing standoutish. Our favorite dish was my friend's white sauce pasta; it was flavorful, rich and decadent but somehow not overpowering. The escargot, as expected was not good for me, but "When in Rome" (or Paris haha). It was just a weird chewy Thing that just tasted like oil and garlic with whatever herbs they used. I especially was off put by the little grains of sand or broken shell that was a part of each bite. The duck breast was a little bland if not for the sauce and it was also a tad tough as well. I will say the chocolate mousse was super rich and sweet; I couldn't eat that whole order by myself but it's nice to share for a little end of meal treat.
