I was 700 miles into a 2,000 mile road trip to move my daughter out of her college dorm when my car engine failed on I5 a few miles south of Williams, CA. I managed to pull off to the right side of the road but was only a couple feet away from very fast cars and trucks that would shake my vehicle as they passed. I called AAA but the first towing company they got for me called me 15 minutes later saying they wouldn't be able to get to me for at least 3 hours! After a couple more calls to AAA and a visit from a friendly highway patrol officer, I received a very welcome call from Walter at L&T Towing saying he was on his way. Walter was very friendly and helped me through a stressful situation. He knew the local town of Williams well and directed me to a highly rated mechanic who was able to work on my car early the next morning. He even dropped me off at a nearby Motel 6 where I stayed for the night. I can't thank Walter and L&T Towing enough for their excellent service! Sadly, my car seems to be in bad shape, and I had to leave it in Williams while I continued my trip with a rental car to move my daughter. I'll be back for my car in a few days to have it towed to the Subaru dealer in Sacramento. Hopefully I'll be able to get AAA to use L&T Towing and ideally Walter again for this next tow. read more

Our rental SUV blew a tire on i5 in California's central valley in August in 107-degree heat. L&T Towing put on our donut spare, told us where we could get a new tire locally, and followed us with the blown tire (which wouldn't fit in the spare wheel well) to the tire store. I went to this workshop because my air conditioner leaked freon and the mechanic inspected my air conditioner and after 15 minutes of work he determined what the problem was and told me that he can't fix it now because he doesn't have the part!!! and then he told me that I have to pay $390 because they charge a minimum of 2 hours of work and $15 because they accepted me!!! total scam and I would recommend everyone to avoid them!!! read more

I am guessing this is the right company. Seriously, can there be other towing companies in Willows with an AAA contract? So, there I was, steam coming out of my car. Little drops of fluid behind me. 70 miles from where I was and 180 miles to where I was going. Temperature was over 100 degrees and the next leg of the trip was on some desolate strip of ranch land. Some days just suck. So, I call AAA and, after a somewhat confusing process of finding a cross street in the land of cows and heat, they send a truck and a guy to drive the truck. Along comes my tow truck, not 20 minutes later. In the city, where I reside, tow trucks come 45 minutes after the call, if you are lucky. I don't know what the average wait time is in Willows, but I was glad it wasn't 45 minutes. The driver guy was funny. I liked him right away. He was competent and as kind as you would want any stranger to be. We joked and exchanged enough pleasantries along the way as to make me feel like the situation didn't completely suck. He called me, Ma'am. Which was weird. I am a California woman. None of us are "Ma'ams". He took care of the details with the auto fixit place and then offered to take me to the nearest hotel. Lord bless him. I had no desire to sit in that dusty auto fixit place until my ride came. So, nice young man from Virginia-- thank you. Your mother would be proud of your manners-- or whomever taught you. Thank you for making my nasty experience just a little less suckky than it would have been otherwise. read more

My car had a mechanical problem at Thunderhill racetrack and needed to be trucked to a shop. AAA had some communication problems that delayed L&T's arrival, but once they were in the loop they contacted me immediately and their driver was there very quickly. He dropped the car at a shop of my choosing in Rancho Cordova, then dropped me at the Sacramento airport so I could rent a car for the drive home. These guys are the best. When a family member had a serious accident on I-5, we learned that they responded and towed our totaled car for us. Since our insurance didn't cover the tow and storage, they explained to us what we need to do to allow them to dispose of the car and even gave us a break on the fees. James was dispatched by AAA after my car broke down in Willows, and he arrived with a flatbed in just 20 minutes. I was a bit concerned about how difficult it might be to load my relatively long and low car onto the trailer, but he was an expert. James was extremely helpful, efficient, and even funny. He helped me to search for the nearest AAA-certified repair shop some 25 miles away, drove around with me to find the address in the dark at 11 pm, and quickly and carefully unloaded my car in front of the shop. I and a neighbor had rescued an abandoned albino fawn. We were in my truck and took her to a wildlife rehabationalist. While there, my fuel pump went out. I called AAA and they told me there would be a delay because there were three of us and they needed a truck with the extra cab room. Okay, we'll wait. Let me say I had never been to this address before and by following the rehab person's directions, it was a very simple find. Right off the main road next to a sign. Sometime later I get a call saying he'll be here in so many minutes from AAA. Cool, thank you. As we're waiting for the driver he calls me and he's right down the road. He tells me he wants me to add my location on my phone so that he can pick it up on his navigation on his phone. I told him my phone doesn't have that option and he kept insisting it did, like i was an idiot. I told him "Look, your right down the road. It's easy to find" He proceeded to get a very "shitty" tone of voice and told me that he "knows where Clark rd. is" I had him on speaker phone and we all looked at each other like "What a dick!" He got there a few minutes later while the couple who's place I was at were saying "What's wrong with this guy he should be here." The guy shows up and I show him that my phone doesn't have the option he was absolutely positive I had. He seemed surprised. He loads the truck and we get in. Now we're a captive audience and he starts in: He proceeds to tell us why albinos are better off dead and worth a lot of money to someone to shoot one......Not the kind of thing two women who just went through a lot to rescue a fawn want to hear. He went on and on about it. I'll cut a person some slack for making an insensitive comment, but when they keep going on and on and not realizing who you have in your truck with you, i figured, " This guy's got to be slow." I said a few things but as it was getting very heated immediately I figured, just won't participate. This guy has my truck and we need to get home. Next he decided that he doesn't want to go through Chico (I guess the traffic scares him ) and so he took the loooong way home through Durham and Ordbend. He bragged that he was so familiar with the area but he was totally addicted to his navagation app on his phone. This guy never took the phone out of his hand the entire time but for once for about two minutes,... tops! HE WAS TEXTING THE ENTIRE TIME! He was texting his boss he said. This made us extremely uncomfortable, not to mention highly illegal. I enjoy birdwatching and mentioned since he was driving through the freaking boonies, that this was an exceptional area for bird watching. I mention sandhill cranes often being spotted and they are a very ancient species. This guy ARGUED with me that all birds are dinosaurs and while I understood his point and told him as much, he continued to argue! I had to remind him that bluejays and robins were not flying around with the dinosaurs and that's what I meant. He was a total ASS! Then somehow Coast to Coast AM radio came up and he argued with me about Art Bell. Geezus. I've been listing to Art since that guy was shitting mustard! We finally get to our destination and when he took my card and I signed I did not get a receipt. I asked him "Don't i get a receipt?" and he said in a snotty tone,..NO. I called AAA and made a formal complaint so I hope it gets back to them. I have been with AAA over twenty years and have had many tows. I have NEVER, EVER had such an unprofessional experience as with this outfit. Next time I need a tow I will refuse service from this company. I have to report that since this review I have received an apology from the company owner. He assured me that the situation is being addressed and that's the best one could hope for. My husband and drove up to Willows, CA for the day and our car decided to overheat and refuse to cool down. We called triple A and they dispatched L &T Towing to rescue us. Ignoring the 4 hour wait that 3A said would only be about 30-90 minutes, and the complete inability to get ahold of 3A for status updates, and the VERY inaccurate updates 3A did manage to provide us, I contacted L&T directly to make sure they really were coming to our rescue. I spoke with a very nice lady in dispatch who was obviously very busy and she explained that 3A had dispatched the same driver to 4 calls at the same time. She apologized profusely for the delay and promised as soon as he was done changing someone's tire, he'd be on his way. Sure enough, he called us shortly to say he was on his way. When he arrived and found out there were 2 of us to take home along with the car, the rig he was driving wasn't big enough for all of us. Apparently it was 3A's job to ask us how many passengers... another thing they failed at. He arranged to go back and swap for a bigger rig so one of us wouldn't be stuck in Willows. He returned and loaded our car quickly and safely, and we were on our way. Our driver, Andrew, was possibly THE nicest tow truck driver I've ever met. On our over 2 hour drive home, we discovered a mutual appreciation for cars and World War 1 and 2 history. Was an awesome drive home! I can't thank L&T and our driver Andrew enough for delivering us safely and for being available for updates when 3A wasn't. They were professional, efficient, and great to work with. I can not recommend them enough. 5 thumbs up! 3A, however, is like calling the cable guy...not much help and an 8 hour window when they MIGHT be there.... read more

Coming back from a funeral in Sacramento, California, I stopped at a gas station in Willows, California to gas up. As I was about to walk into the store to pay my bill, I noticed my keys on the dashboard, and I had already locked the doors! Anyway, the nice gas/store attendant let me use his phone and I called AAA. After giving all my information to AAA, L & T Towing was there in 10-15 minutes! The tow driver was Walter, and he was a great guy. He had my door open in less than two minutes! He was nicer than hell and as efficient as they come. Thank you L & T Towing! You guys are great. Our car broke down on the way back to the Bay Area after a long 4th of July weekend and we had to get it towed. L & T showed up in less than 15 minutes. Spencer was the guy who helped us out and he was very polite, courteous and friendly. This was the first time we had to use a towing company and we had a lot of questions that he helped us out with. He didn't even say anything when a member of our party let out some gas that made me tear up like someone had cut up an onion in the cab. He just casually rolled down the window. Our Jeep broke down on I-5 on our way to Oregon from Monterey, we had a baby and a dog. Very fast response. Low price. Excellent with sport cars that are lowered. Had all of the equipment to load the car without ever scraping either bumper or ever touching the paint with any tools or equipment. Secured the car on the flatbed with wraps around the tires, not the wheels, -preventing any scraping or rubbing of tying equipment on the lip of your wheels. If you are a car enthusiast like me and understand that tow truck trips can damage your bumpers and wheels, then L&T is a company you can trust. The Bay Area towing companies can learn alot from these guys. Very fast, thorough, cautious, and professional. Best I've ever seen. Patrick was my man and he took good care of my car. Car broke down Easter Sunday, called them up, got a quote quickly for flatbed tow from Willows to San Jose. Called around, competitors were 15% more expensive and not as friendly, so decided to go with L&T. Showed up quickly in a nice flatbed truck, hooked the car up securely, taking care not to damage the low front end. I rode in the truck, which was quiet and comfortable, and we made good time getting down to San Jose. Would highly recommend. read more
