Brett C.

I stood here a lot to turn in used motor oil. Good assorted car and motor needs. Atmosphere: clean store, good parking, nearby Starbucks and grocery store. 5 Staff: 5 star friendly Service: Fast when there are lines and there often aren't. Goid for ordering parts. 5 Value: products are industry standard. 3

Signs all over stating you need wear a mask. Employees are not wearing mask. Very poor customer service.

. With the exception of having to buy a new battery, Mike did this all at no charge and was very pleasant the entire time

You MUST KNOW WHAT YOU NEED AND WHAT YOU'RE DOING HERE …read more They lay out the cars they buy and you're allowed to take them apart to get what you need . KLQ (the parent corporation) recently lowered most prices . If you're buying common parts from common cars, prolly wise to pay the few more $ for the warranty, they have NO WAY TO CHECK BEFORE YOU BUY so don't get mad, if you're unsure either buy the warranty or if it's some obscure or older vehicle they won't get in often, skip the warranty co$t and take a flier . If that's not good enough, buy a new or rebuilt part elsewhere . We Professional Mechanics _LOVE_ this place because _we_ get to chose what we buy, not some yard ape . Only porta-potties and minimal hand washing available, I always bring other clothes and shoes because no matter how hard they try, junkyards are dusty, oily, _filthy_ places . The Anaheim location is a sea of grease so be ready . Many times there are guys cruising the yard with hand trucks and tools, they'll remove parts for you at extra co$t and they only accept CA$H . Always plenty of easy parking . _IF_ you know your stuff this is the very best used auto parts place there is . -Nate

The pricing here has become exorbitant to say the least. They were going to charge me $90 for a…read moreradiator from a 1991 Toyota Corolla. That's almost what they cost new from what I've seen. Another time. I pulled the metal headlight protectors(they look like iron bars kind of) for the front of my Land Rover and when I brought it up one girl told me it was going to be $5 but somehow I ended up with another gal finally checking me out and she tried to charge me. $25. I told her the other girl quoted $5 and the girl confirmed but she would not honor that price (and I don't believe she was a manager). Now today I wanted to exchange something that was clearly marked with the receipt but because it was past the 30 day refund period by less than two weeks they would not let me exchange it because they both were so worried about "getting flagged". The worst part is we come in here all the time, like. Once a week at least and we have bought tons of things that did not end up working out but just eat the cost no big deal, we actually have never returned anything so it's not like we are habitual returners or problem customers . The two employees wouldn't direct me to a supervisor to ask and told me to email them and figure out the email address from the website. I wish there was another one closer so I could boycott... I will attempt to asich as possible. . Conclusion - very disappointed

I cannot recommend them highly enough. After four plus years at other shops I know a bit about the process. I'll spare you the ups and downs of the whole journey but there was a point where I had to pull the plug on the second shop with some tasks remaining. Vintage Hot Rod was able to pick up and finish their work and correct mistakes that had been made. This shop has several guys working on projects, so the collective expertise is there to make sure that problems can be solved. They finished installing trim pieces, fixed the other guys mistakes in wiring and got it running again. All in short order. And yes, they communicated well with me the entire time. A word to anyone thinking of getting into classic cars; it takes a lot of money and it takes a lot of time. More of both than you will ever anticipate. If you think you are going to get a car and fix it up for cheap...you won't. It's far better to get a car that's already finished. There are lots of unpleasant surprises when you start rehabbing a car. Vintage Hot Rod did not do my body work. Their estimate was too high for me. I went with a shop that had a little better deal but less collective experience. In retrospect, I think I should have gone with Vintage Hot Rod. It may have been less expensive in the long run as it would have been done right the first time. Hindsight...
