The pizza here is incredible! I eat it every time I'm down town Dearborn. Made from scratch Dough and it shows. (Aside from traditional Buddy's) it's the best pie I've found in town!!! read more

Loved our first visit! Everything was tasty. We highly recommend! Service was also excellent. The server was knowledgeable, gracious and helpful. Had the Almond Chicken, Firecracker shrimp and hummus with tenderloin beef tips. Here is our only criticism - the meat in the hummus dish isn't tenderloin. Having worked cutting and packaging meat for more than 3 years, the meat served in this dish was dense, slightly tough and chewy - probably sirloin or striploin, but definitely NOT tenderloin. To my good friends at LA Bistro... Your food is wonderful. Keep up the good work, but please either change the wording on the menu to reflect the actual type of beef used or actually use tenderloin in your dish. Either way, I'll be back - but please don't mislead your customers. read more

L.A. Bistro - It's not tenderloin! - Italian Near Me - Dearborn, Michigan

I've eaten here four times now and never have been disappointed. So far I've had their grilled chicken roll up, California pizza, chicken piccata pasta, and the Cesar salad. Out of all the dishes I've had the Cesar salad has been my favorite. It's a hardy salad with great flavoring. As for the rest; the restaurant is clean with a bit of a modern decor and the staff has always been friendly. So if your looking for some good Mediterranean eats for a fare price this place fits the bill. read more

I have only ever had take-out from here. The place I work at orders takeout from LA Bistro for lunches from time to time. Maybe it's just not my style, but LA Bistro is typically a "Meh, it's just OK" meal for me. While nothing has been bad, I wouldn't choose to go back here on my own. I've had wraps, salads, soups, and pizzas from here. The best thing I've had is their lemon chicken rice soup. My least favorite is the house salad which is pre-mixed with dressing, so it comes a little soggy when you do takeout. I don't mind paying a little more for quality food, but this is overpriced for what you get. For me, there are plenty of other options in the Dearborn area that I would choose before dining at LA Bistro. read more

Filet Mignon (at L.A. Bistro) Chicken Parmesan (at L.A. Bistro) 4/8/2014 One of my usual spots in Dearborn. A good place if you want Zabiha halal food, with a good atmosphere, and good service. I have had pretty consistent experiences here. I had the Parmesan Chicken for the first time here because of a friend's recommendation. It was good, and extremely filing. I also had a lot of their fresh bread here along with the chicken lemon rice soup, so that probably helped quite a bit in me getting full. Though I did not eat the Filet Mignon, my friend who I would consider a steak expert had it and was not impressed. The mashed potatoes are never impressive here. It is always pretty bland, and taste like something you make out of a box. I don't really ever crave anything from here when I am hungry, but I don't usually say no to coming here if my friends want to. It really is a good spot to eat and enjoy the company of the people you are with. I would recommend this place if there was a decision to be made. read more

A solid, dependable lunch or dinner choice if you're in Dearborn. Their signature dish is the almond chicken, and it is one of the better items on the menu. My preferred favorite is the mushroom risotto with grilled chicken; it's always very well made and tastes great. The bbq chicken pizza is also a good option if you have a few people to split it with. On my most recent visit here for lunch I opted for the newborn chicken with rice and a salad. It was good, not great but that's the case with most of the items on the menu. This place certainly has its loyal fans who can overhype the food: in my opinion, it's good and worth checking out but I'm sure you can find better Italian restaurants. read more

Awesome place, can here for birthday dinner. Overall enjoyable experience, the honey shrimp And almond chicken were really good. The buffalo pizza was super salty but they didn't charge us for it. read more

I was seated and waiting 20 mins for just water and someone to take my order. This place has changed Drastically in the past couple years. I always get there almond chicken but lately the chicken has been hammered down so much it's as a thing as paper. I understand cost cutting but this is unacceptable. Even when I asked for the help the owner I believe told me that someone will be coming then when she came she had a bad attitude. I am honestly staying away from this location. I feel after the canton one opened this one went down the drain. read more

Absolutely one of my favorite lunch spots. A great option for those who like middle eastern cuisine and those who do not. I go here probably once a month and always order the Newborn Chicken Salad (side note: my colleagues and I haven't quite figured out what newborn chicken means and never remember to ask - we can only hope it doesn't mean a whole bunch of baby chickens). I often order the hommous as an appetizer - it is a crowd pleaser! While I love that salad, others I know have ordered - and enjoyed: - Mediterranean salad - salmon roll up - California pita pizza - pizza - Gambari salad The waitstaff is fantastic - always friendly and courteous, regardless of how busy the lunch rush may be. read more

Ok, one of the new items on the menu is called the "Sami special," it's like any other entree I've had. It's grilled chicken breast with a sauce that is so yummy that I forgot what it was while I was eating and the waiter was explaining it to me for the third time. It's sprinkled with goat cheese and there is butter somewhere on the plate under the chicken....phenomenal. It comes with mashed potatoes and veggies, side of either soup or salad. This entree has replaced my usual almond chicken. Thank you Sami and Sou. read more

Love coming here. The food is great . Customer service always on point . Even when they were packed they managed to get me a table asap.

Italian, Mediterranean and Lebanese really caught my attention, and reading the reviews decided to go with the almond chicken. I would say it is more Italian but no matter which language it speaks, this is some yummy food! read more

The dining room is small. Strange, dark murals decorate the walls. The waiter tried to flirt with me and my coworkers- it was uncomfortable. An extensive menu with salads, sandwiches, burgers, pasta, entrees... I have noticed that when restaurants try to offer everything, they end up having many mediocre choices. I think this might be what happened to LA Bistro. My salad was supposed to be Nicoise- it was, in reality, a scoop of bland tuna salad atop romaine with a few scant cucumber slices. And it was almost $9. read more

The food is good, but one dimensional - over-the-top rich sauces and crusts that overpower whatever it is you're eating. If that's your thing, this is right up your alley. If delicacy and subtlety are, go elsewhere. The almond chicken photo on the website, by the way, doesn't look like what I received. Their staff is warm and attentive. read more

Food was okay, the almond chicken was good. The service was decent. I was very upset at the end. The server didn't bring me my bill. I gave him my credit card to pay. My bill was 92 dollars for 3 people and a child. He adds the 20 percent gratuity on his own. I didn't know he had added the tip. So I put 12 dollars tip. After thinking for 1 minutes I asked to get my bill. Once I saw that I asked the manager why the tip is added by the waiter. Manager couldn't explain the waiter disappeared. I erased the 12 dollars tip and told the manager that it's a shame to just add 20 percent tip unless you let customers know. My advice to owners, this is not a way to treat your customers, gratuity is a choice based on service and happiness of customers. I am a very good tipper and have tipped people 20 to 30 percent of my bill, however I don't like being cheated by anyone! read more

Had a lovely dinner with family, and I would certainly go back. The menu is almost comically diverse - as you can see from the various reviews for Lebanese, Italian, Chinese and Mexican dishes. I don't believe that a restaurant can really excel at everything, but I have no evidence to support that belief in the case of LA Bistro. Everything we ordered was quite good. Only 3 stars because some of the menu descriptions were unclear for people with food restrictions. My companion with the gluten allergy bears some responsibility for not double checking when she placed her order, but it would never occur to me that a dish described as "broiled" would arrive breaded. So, LA Bistro shares some blame there. (Since she has previously asked about gluten in her salad dressing, I do think the server blew it here) Our family will go back, and I think you should check them out too. But I hope the mediocre rating in the sea of positives will stand out enough for you to heed this warning: if you have dietary restrictions, don't trust their menu information. Ask. read more

The place is located in a nice area. Downtown dearborn is known for places like this one. I recommend you try the chicken portebello roll up and don't forget to dip it in ranch. read more

This restaurant is a disgrace to all restaurants. Anyone who actually enjoys this establishment is lying to themselves. First, the interior decor and ambience is supposed to give off a fine dining experience and although the decor is nice, the staff absolutely murders the supposed ambience. Greasy hair gel, pressed button up shirts and talking politely doesn't automatically classify you as a classy waiter. In fact these guys are just immature college kids. Now about the food, the worst part about this place. I've been here plenty of times and everything I've had on the menu is horrible. You could literally go to the local grocery store and make the same entrees and they would taste exactly the same because it's all frozen foods or just pre-made sugary sauces. I once ordered a steak from here medium rare and they brought it to me completely well done because the chef didn't even know what medium rare meant. I heard them arguing about it right in front of me. Not to mention the steak had the texture of a sponge. Everyone loves the almond chicken from here, but all it is is heavily breaded with a stinky pre made sauce and frozen vegetables. In essence, this restaurant is equivalent to a fast food joint with "fancy" waiters. read more

Have been ordering here for years and service, unfortunately, has gone down. Chicken lemon rice soup has been terrible and smells weird. Spoke to manager (Jeff, is one of them) and he kindly remade it for me on another day. Fast forward a few months, and hubby and I decided to order lunch from there. Chicken and steak portabellas, soup, and newborn chicken. Not only was the rice for the newborn chicken was uncooked thoroughly. Decided to have the soup and baguette (-_-). Not one item tasted fresh. The potato wedges for the side tasted so old and dry. Spoke to Jeff again and he said he would remake it. Seriously!! Never again! read more

It's been a long time since I've found a restaurant that was different from the rest- unique menu- and left me looking forward to my next visit (soon). Service was eh- we aren't locals - it wasn't horrible or unfriendly just service so can't complain Husbands sandwich was too be a wrap but came out on a baguette- not a lot of beef/portabella, but his salad and veggies were very good My risotto was fantastic- added grilled chicken to it- it was perfect- yummy veggies, portabella, chicken and risotto cooked perfectly. I have enough for lunch tomorrow . My house salad was yummy- Every entree we saw coming out, we wanted to try. Will return soon- can't park on street so park in the back. We went around 5 and it was busy but no line- read more

I have been coming here for years. LA is well known around town even from the old days at their old location. I can't think of many negatives to share with you about this place. The staff is extremely professional in comparison to competitors in the area. It's almost overwhelming (the professionalism) only because I'm so used to "ya cuz" and "ok bro" from the Dearborn area. Super clean place and very well put together. Diverse menu. My one complaint!! The wife has a peanut allergy and although MOST items state all the ingredients, not all of them do. They use pesto in almost everything, which is fine but the Eggplant Parmesan (delicious BTW) doesn't mention pesto! Good thing we asked. They made arrangements and still made her the food, minus the pesto. I continue to come here. Fairly priced. Must try at least once! read more

Delicious food! We started off with the hummus appetizer and it was very good hummus with warm pita bread. My husband got the Buffalo chicken pizza which was absolutely amazing. One of the best specialty pizzas I've ever had. I got the newborn Buffalo chicken salad (I did ask, like a moron, and the chicken is NOT newborn baby chickens ). I wasn't a huge fan of their house salad, but the chicken and rice was really good. I would definitely order it again, although, if we went back we would probably just split the pizza. I'm bummed we live over an hour away! read more

This is a great place for a healthy lunch.. I've had the shrimp burger which is very tasty and its in a pita, this comes with salad inc dressing and potato wedges or rice for about $7.50. Also tried the salmon wrap but i prefer the shrimp burger more.. The staff are very friendly, it looks like its owned by the father and son? Sad part is, they don't have any beers or wines..:-(. which i guess makes this place healthy. This would have been 5 stars but no alcohol is a shame as a cold beer would have hit the spot with the shrimp burger. 4 stars it is. read more

Had a team dinner here per a colleague's recommendation. Enjoyed really great service for mediocre food. The venue does not serve alcohol and does not know how to make bruschetta (received thick 3.5" pieces of bread with red peppers; very unusual). Lemon chicken soup was quite bland. Best of all: got food poisoning from the pasta. I strongly recommend going to another venue. Will not be returning to this establishment. read more

I love LA Bistro. The service is speedy and the food is consistently great. It's hard to go wrong with any dish on the menu. I love the gambari (shrimp) sandwich, the BBQ chicken pizza, the sandwiches, the hummus and pretty much everything I've tried. But the almond chicken is truly exceptional due to the thin breaded chicken and wonderful sauce. Recently I took two coworkers from Texas and they were equally amazed. The only problem was that the portion was so big, none of us could finish it. The 3 piece chicken can feed 3 people - seriously! The bread at LA Bistro is also amazing, and tastes great with hummus or dipped in their chicken lemon rice soup. What are you waiting for? Go get some great food! read more

Staff seemed like a group of distracted. Coffee was cold. A meal was forgotten. Very strange.

I don't know of many halal places that do Steaks or an Italian twist. Me and the Mrs along with my daughter have been to this place a few times. It's a really great family restaurant, the service is exceptional, food came out on time, and the waiters were attentive and helpful when deciding what to order. Yes depending on what you order this place can be quite expensive, but the quality of food is well worth it. We usually order the really popular almond chicken as on of our Favourite dishes. The other is usually a steak with sides. The portions are quite generous. In terms of starters the bruschetta is divine, very light and seasoned to perfection. We usually are too full to go for deserts. The decor is very warm and cozy especially if you ask for a booth, always a bonus when you have a baby with a high chair. However it's seems a bit dated. It's a bit difficult to assume from the decor what cuisine it serves, if it is an Italian restaurant I didn't see anything Italian about it. This place was a recommendation from a local Dearborn resident. It's tucked away on the high street of Dearborn heights, with parking at the rear. Overall this place is pretty awesome and I would definitely recommend this place. It's nice to eat at a place where yes the owner/chef comes to you, once even with his cute little baby, to ask if everything is okay!!! A nice experience, warm staff and great food. Why only 4 stars? I would say that's down to the cuisine is it American or Italian? Can't really tell from the menu or decor. Maybe it's just me. read more

LA Bistro is a Gheesling family favorite. Anytime we are in Dearborn we try eat at this delicious restaurant. Why do we love it? Because the food is consistently fantastic, well priced and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The menu is massive - they have salads, sandwiches, steaks, pasta and pizza. I have tried a variety of dishes and everything has been VERY tasty and unique. Recently, Court and I stopped in after visiting the park we adopted for the summer. We ordered two different sandwiches to split; the tuna wrap and the T.B.C. baguette (tomato, basil and cheese). Both sandwiches were very yummy and came with a house salad and potato skins. A couple days later, my cousin had her wedding shower at LA Bistro and It. Was. Perfect. On Sundays the restaurant doesn't open until 3pm, so the shower was at noon and we had the entire place to ourselves! The setting was ideal for a large group: there were long tables, the food was served family style and there was enough space for everyone to mingle before and after! Everything on the menu is priced VERY reasonably!! Sandwiches are around $8, pizzas are $9 and pastas are about $10. Every time I visit LA Bistro there are lots of customers enjoying the warm, welcoming, casual atmosphere and the delicious food. read more

My personal favorite, the Lemon Rice Chicken soup, the Almond Crusted Chicken, the Sami special, and the Caesar Chicken Wrap. There's quality in every dish. You can tell that the chef & owner took time to create the menu. You taste the delicious ingredients it in every bite. There's also something to be said about an owner that takes personal pride in his establishment.
