We were on the way to Eiffel tower from Arc De Triomphe and saw this. That's the beauty of Paris, roadside small bistro-cafes. You can sit, have a couple of drinks, chill and carry on. We were here only for a couple of drinks (and of course to use the loo). We ordered Local draft beer 1664 Blank, Rose wine. It came with Pretzels. My beer was really good. Also, they serve in cl size. So 50 cl = 500 ml. I think they also charge a cover fee. Donno why. It was evening time, and we enjoyed our drink, got refreshed and started again to see the iconic tower.

A cute little Brasserie located across the street from the Peninsula Hotel. Not all of their wait staff speak English, but they were kind enough to assign us a waitress who did speak pretty good English. The service was friendly and not hurried. Our party of 4 shared some escargot (excellent) and roasted beef bone marrow. (might have been good, but unfortunately not my favorite.) My wife ordered their French onion soup, which had an incredibly flavorful broth. She also got their chicken sandwich, which she seemed to enjoy. I ordered their ribeye steak, which is where things went south. Perhaps it was due to the language barrier, but my steak that I ordered medium-rare came out very, very, very well done. I haven't had a steak this tough and flavorless since I dined at the Skylon Tower revolving restaurant in Niagara Falls in 1992. Fortunately, their peppercorn sauce was good and added some flavor back to the steak. But the toughness of this meat was inexcusable. If my steak was better, I would have given this place 5 stars. But the steak was sooooo bad, I need to knock 2 stars off. :(

This is a good example of how this French little restaurants are, most of the time, a guarantee for good food. For a second day in a row I try a neighborhood restaurant, we had onion soup which was very flavorful and rich. the Steak Tartar was very good and the Tuna Steak, although a bit over cooked, had a great flavor. The staff is very friendly and I think, they are willing to give you an honest recommendation about their menu depending on your want.

L'Etoile Venitienne was perfect for people watching if you can grab a table next to the windows. It has more of a diner-y feel to it. They offer classic French meals--like the burger I ordered that came complete with fried egg on top--and they play American pop music. For sure not fine dining, but it was a great experience.

Excuse the weird editing. I know it looks simple but it was too yummy!

Very close to Arc de Triomphe and steps away from the touristy area. I tried the Croque Monsieur, which was tasty. Great prices, too!

First off, this is an iconic historic hotel. Beautiful location at Place Vendome. My friend and I were hungry and on a weekday night and randomly walked in and were promptly seated. I'm not sure how it normally goes here regarding wait times and reservations. The French onion soup and lobster rolls were divine. The server would walk around with a bread box and would bring the whole box to the table and you could pick from there. We had cereal bread and an onion focaccia. Amazing! They gave us complimentary chocolates too. The vibes and ambience are immaculate. It looks like a classic fancy restaurant. There was a piano player too! They gave us a little chair for our purses. This was a lovely Parisian experience. Highly recommend.
