Dinner in Paris happens much later than I'm used to in the US. We popped into British eatery L'Entente at opening time to find we had the entire place to ourselves. Intimate restaurant with blue banquettes & clean lines; we chuckled at the banana leaf design above the paneled walls that matched Blanche's bedroom wallpaper in "The Golden Girls." I didn't try my dining companion's Scotch Quail Eggs (18 € for three eggs, halved) but I did taste their Fish & Chips (26 €) which was pleasantly mild & came with a tangy tartare sauce. My Onion & Stilton Tart (24 €) was incredibly savory & delicious. Texturally interesting with the creamy bleu cheese & cooked-down onions to offset the flakey tart & frisée salad atop. Perfect restaurant for when you want to deviate from classic Parisian fare but still want a sophisticated meal. Charming, lovely server, as well. read more

We had our first meal of our Paris trip here - and did not order French food. Whoops. I ordered the fish and chips, and it is HUGE. The soup of the day happened to be vegetarian and was excellent. Service was prompt, attentive and very warm. The ambiance is nice and small, while still providing a fancy-adjacent feel. Highly recommend the fish and chips. read more

Our meal at L'Entente was a pleasant surprise, the result of googling nearby restaurants that were a touch off the beaten path from the more traditional Parisian cafes. We came in for a late dinner, making a reservation online, and took the hostess and service staff by surprise. That being said, they were still very pleasant and warmed up to our 6 top quickly. Service was quick and on point, and part of our group even made follow up reservations to come back based on how positive the interaction was. The food itself is British pub fare, but executed as French fine dining. The ingredients are all locally sourced (besides the English only cheese section) and while staying true to certain staples, they put a wonderful twist on most plates. We came with zero expectations after eating our way through the Michelin guide, and ended up liking this meal far better than some of the starred restaurants from our trip. I highly recommend a visit if you're looking for a break from the typical Parisian cafes. read more

Came here for the fish and chips and it did not disappoint! Their tartare sauce was perfect. Actually everything we tried was pretty good. We ordered the Shepherd's pie and Poached Pear, Endive Stilton & Walnut Salad as well which were both well-made. The restaurant had a warm casual atmosphere. It wasn't too crowded but I would still recommend to make a reservation just incase. All the servers were friendly and accommodating. Def worth checking out! read more

The food here was outrageously delicious!! Seriously, it's one of the best meals I've eaten in forever. My son had the lamb (I took a bite), and we both agreed it was spectacular. The lamb was tender, juicy, and succulent, and the accompanying sauces were incredible. I had the shepherds pie, which was awesome as well. The potatoes were crispy-ish on top and fluffy inside. The meat inside was flavorful and paired perfectly with the potatoes. We had the rhubarb pavlova for dessert, which was sweet but not too sweet and made the perfect ending to the perfect meal. Our server was delightful as well, and the entire experience was A+++! If I lived in Paris, I would surely be a regular! read more

The service was good except I would have liked if he checked in an additional time after the food came to refill our water but other than that it was good. This was my first time in Paris and unfortunately, I was only in town for one night. The only thing that made this trip worthwhile was the beef Wellington at L'Entente. I live in the US and rarely find this dish anywhere on a menu but really wanted to treat myself. After a disaster of a day with too many travel issues to mention, I sat down at this restaurant, and I have to say it far exceeded my expectations. The Wellington was cooked exactly to my specifications, as I advised the waiter that my stomach is very sensitive and cannot eat beef when it is cooked too rare. The waiter listened and presented a beautiful dish which tasted like heaven on earth. The side of mashed potatoes and carrots were incredible and was a beautiful accompaniment to this dish. The meat was tender and juicy and melted in my mouth while the pastry crust was buttery and flaky and complete perfection. I don't think dinner has ever brought tears to my eyes, but I could tell you that this dinner was the absolute best meal of my life. Thank you to Oliver and your staff for making room at the table for me and if I visit Paris again, this place will be my first stop. My compliments to the chef!!! read more

We went for Christmas Lunch. We booked online and it was a prix fixed menu for 55€, when we got there the price was 75€ and you could not cancel without being charged the 75 per person. The service was horribly slow. They were very busy but every other table was being tended to, just not ours. They kept asking if they could get anything for us, and we would say water, butter, dessert, etc. and they would never bring it. We had to ask for our dessert 4 times and finally someone came and took our order once more and the dessert showed up about 20 minutes later. We waited for our dessert for over an hour. I finally asked for the bill and the dessert magically showed up. I watched the main server yell at another server, not the ambiance you want on Christmas. Hectic and unorganized at best. read more

This offered a pleasant change of pace from the de rigueur breakfast offerings outside of hotels here. The full entente fulfilled its promise. I had been tempted by the veggie version, but couldn't resist the notion of Gascon pigs. Perhaps the homemade beans could have been softer--I know from experience it's hard (maybe impossible) to achieve canned squishiness (or maybe we've only been trained to expect that?). The side of HB (?) was curious--not sure what that was meant to accompany. Perhaps some toast would have helped sop things up--not sure if it was on the menu or how that's dealt with in the mother country, but for Americans it's kind of indispensable--maybe servers could ask whether that's desired? I was very pleased with my server. He had a lot to deal with, not to mention a gaggle with a rather brutish leader. He made sure my rightful place in the sequence was respected and obviated the need for me to intercede, thus interrupting my travel idyll. read more

Fish and Chips is definitely up to par with what is expected, because of the fish quality and three times cooked fries they use, but still missing that quintessential malt vinegar that should be mandatory served with ... Full English breakfast with black pudding should be on your bucket list, when doing brunch there. Desserts are well executed and delish. Most of their items are house made and from boutique artisanal utmost quality, like their cheeses, organic smoked salmon and heritage steaks. We ended up going here as it was one of the few places on OpenTable in Paris. L'Entente is an ... odd restaurant. It's like a British pub, with British pub food, plated and priced like fine dining. The food we got was good, but strangely expensive for what it was. I guess that's Paris for ya'. The whole reason we went to a British restaurant was to get British beer which ... they didn't have at all. Instead, I got up-sold on a 16€ (!!!) gin and tonic which barely filled a wine glass, and some craft mead which was pretty decent. The service was weird too, with us needing to ask multiple times for things like to see the menu, get salt and pepper, and other normal things you get at a restaurant. What saved the restaurant for me was the overly friendly English-speaking staff, which was a nice change of pace from where we ate the night before which was practically THE stereotypical rude French dining experience. The bartender filled us in on all the best places to go nearby, the ins and outs of the Yellow Jacket protests, and everything else we had to talk about. Overall though, it feels like this restaurant has a bit of an identity crisis, as straddling the line between a French brasserie and a British pub is sort of strange. read more

This place was amazing and just perfect for our last night in Paris. The ambience was warm and welcoming. The service was prompt and courteous from everyone we encountered- the host, the waiters, the lady who got our water. The food was wonderful! I had the deviled kidneys for appetizer and Shepard's pie for entree. Others had the pear salad, vegetable medley, and the chicken pot pie which they also enjoyed. Stay for dessert! What a quaint and perfect brassiere close to the Opéra. Also, since it's on Open Table, you can actually make a reservation. The staff is delightful and while I was really hoping for the French-inspired Shephard's Pie, the salmon Eggs Benedict on the brunch menu would have to suffice. This place was a little gem to find. Great food. You can tell they actually care. As an international city, this is certainly the best-for-your-price modern British food in Paris. I was sad that our trip to Europe didn't include a trip to Great Britain. I was very excited to stumble upon this place walking from a nearby hotel. The warm and friendly greeting at the entrance from the proprietor, Oliver, was so wonderful that I was feeling as though I was a guest in his home.
