Batter not properly crisped, not properly done fish and chips. If keep expectations minimal, can be passable unhealthy oily grub for lunch.

Tea with Gran is always a highlight of when we spend time together. This cozy and quaint cafe was a great find, thanks Gran!! Once we arrived the service for appropriately paced. The tea and delectables were delicious. The ambiance was casual. It was also easy to converse with the other guests. I know Parisians get a bad rap for their attitudes, but in this cafe, this was not the case at all. It was really pleasant and we were clearly being watched for our needs but not overly so. We went in mid-afternoon so it wasn't bustling but I had a strong feeling that they would be full soon! As we left we noticed many more guests arrived and looked very familiar with this place. If I lived close, it would definitely be the kind of neighborhood spot I would frequent. I will be back with friends!! Oh, and try the subway it was a bonus adventure. Safe, inexpensive, and fast! My almost 80-year-old Godmother conditioned for 2 months and she was up for all of it!

For the price and the place, I would have expected something more sophisticated. Otherwise the service was great.

Yes, go check this place out--even if you're jet lagged. Is that straightforward enough? I hope so…read more This was my first stop in the Marais after noticing Cambridge Public House earned a respectable spot on "The World's 50 Best Bars" list. Will it clear up your jet lag? Who cares. Will you be satisfied even if it doesn't? I think so. Beverages: 5/5. Cocktails are on rotation and beautifully chilled (which helps with the jet-lag). Cigarette After Sex. Memorial Story. Last Chance. Stars Align. All were stellar selections, with the Cigarette After Sex capturing the essence of that unique feeling--before vapes flooded the world. I even returned 48 hours later to help numb my feet after a day spent meandering through the Marais and Musee Carnavalet. Cuisine: You're here for the cocktails, not for the food. That said, the meat pie and the sausage roll were decent. That's the move. Service: 5/5. My fellow Americans... The staff here is hella cool. They made me feel at home despite not knowing any words beyond, "Bonjour," and they were generous with refilling my glass of water. Say less. Actually, the only minor annoyance was other Americans babbling loud AF next to me at the bar. Ambiance: 5/5. Chill. Solid playlist. Dope interior. I look forward to stopping in again. Buen provecho.

The drinks are not only fun but having half size allowed us to try a few things. While the food was more "snack" size it was still plenty for us. As expected it was a loud bar style atmosphere but not so loud that we couldn't have a good conversation. Great place, highly recommend!
