Had dinner here the other night for the first time in awhile . I had the filet mignon and lobster hibachi . The food was good but the chief didn't put on a show like they use to . Pretty basic prepare and serve . No kidding around or fancy tricks with the food or knives . That was always the fun part of going to places like this . I gave it a four because the food was good but lacking in the showmanship . Probably won't be back

Shrimp Hibachi

I had an absolutely random experience here with friends, but it was fun! We were in the area with the goal of dining at a different restaurant nearby. Unfortunately we didn't have a reservation and the wait was going to be about an hour. Instead of sticking around, we whipped open our Yelp apps and found this Japanese steakhouse across the street. Their Yelp rating wasn't bad and it had been forever since any of us had been to a Japanese steakhouse so we headed there ASAP. We arrived, were greeted right away, and taken back to a table immediately. Our waters were out in an instant and I also ordered a plum wine, my guilty pleasure when dining in this environment. As for food, I ordered the shrimp Hibachi which also came with soup, salad, and two shrimps as an appetizer. As we waited for our chef to get ready, our table filled up to just the right amount of people. While our table was more on the quiet side, we made the most of it and our chef read the room (well, table, lol), really well. He didn't do much of the fun jazzy stuff you expect from a Japanese steakhouse but it was fine. I pretty much ate every bite of everything that was placed in front of me. I was really hungry, but more importantly, it was good eats. Fun fact: They also have sushi on the menu. My friend ordered a roll and enjoyed it. They also have pretty darn good lunch specials.

This Japanese steak house was amazing! My friend took me there for Valentine's Day. We had to make reservations and we still had to wait longer than expected which we didn't mind, it was definitely worth it! We ordered their Calamari Katsu, it was crispy and delicious! Chefs are really talented, they really know how to entertain you while grill your food! Their soup and hibachi is delicious! Place was nice and tables have glasses in between for social distancing. Employees are nice and friendly as well, I will definitely be coming back!

Blue plastic nasty food

I got a chicken hibachi to go and I started to eat it and noticed a piece of my chicken had a piece of blue plastic of something unknown stuck to it. Literally cooked in. I called to tell them and they said I needed to bring it in because it was "hard to believe me" I let them know I live 35 minutes away and they didn't care. I would have wasted the same amount of gas driving there as the refund money. $20. I decided to not bring it in because it was a waste of time. But I don't know what the blue thing is and I threw my food away and was pretty disappointed. So gross and I'll never eat here again.

Good for a quick lunch! The service was nice and quick. I went there during the lunch time, the price was good, the whole thing for $11. They gave a lot of rice! (I love that) the salad was good but my whole thing to get Salmon teriyaki which I don't think it was teriyaki. The fish was a little fishy tho. Overall it was okay, if I go there again I probably try sushi instead.

This is my favorite place to go to for Japanese Hibachi in Columbus! It used to be called Genjis and is now called Kyoto, but it is the same chefs and the same food. The best time to visit is during lunch because the prices are reasonable and the portions are good as well. I love that they offer bean sprouts! The sushi is always fresh and the yum yum sauce is on point! Another bonus is they also have different flavors of Mochi for desert which you can't get at some of the other Japanese restaurants.

I enjoyed everything. The yakitori was flavorful but chicken a little dry. Typical hibachi salad, and the miso soup was very good. The sushi was good, and the main meal tasty.

We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.

I was meeting friends at North Market for dinner, so I grabbed take away from Song Lan. I typically order their rolls but heard great things about their other entrees and decided to get the Chicken Hibachi. Generous portion of white chicken meat in classic hibachi sauce with carrots, onions, broccoli, zucchini, and snow peas. Also came with white rice and a salad! Super filling and had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. I also ordered the Coconut Shrimp roll (minus mango due to allergies) to share with friends. It was okay - I'm sure it would be a lot better with the mango. I'd likely get their Spicy Tuna Roll in the future if I want a smaller one - or I'd go for my favorite of the Angry Lobster Roll or the Pink Lady Roll. The team there are always friendly, helpful with recommendations, and I've had fairly quick service even on their busy nights.

Like, I could count the number of tables occupied on one hand. No real explanation, no attempt to accommodate, just a hard no and a shrug. It felt less like a restaurant and more like we accidentally walked into some kind of private club we weren't cool enough for. What's even more frustrating is that we weren't trying to be difficult -- we were ready to wait, split tables, whatever -- but they didn't care at all. Just zero effort. I've never been turned away from an almost empty restaurant before, and honestly it was kind of surreal. Ended up taking our business somewhere else where they actually wanted customers. Funny how that works. Would not recommend unless you enjoy being ignored and turned away for no reason.
