I have a long and deep love for hibachi. My favorite restaurant unfortunately closed (the uncle of my friend who owned the restaurant passed away, and they couldn't make it with out him). It was cool because I got to eat with the chefs on their breaks when they made the employee lunches. Anyways, I digress. I've tried many places, and they never came close to my friends restaurant (Shi Chi). One major is I have found is that none of them served Sakura sauce (egg yolk sauce). They all have that yummy yummy, which is good, and let's not forget the ginger sauce. This place has the best sauces and options for everyone. But that sakura sauce, is just wow! The restaurant was very clean, with a large fish tank with some absolutely beautiful creatures within. The staff is absolutely amazing, helpful, kind, true interactions. The best vegetables, sauces ( I even like their yummy yummy, I normally don't. And their ginger sauce is to die for. Either way, if you are craving some "Japanese" food, this is the place. First time here...and honestly, was disappointed. The fast/casual restaurant is located at Georgesville and Holt Rd. connected to a Subway sandwich shop. The parking was nice, you can pull right up to the door basically. This is nice for people that may have difficulty walking, etc. The server taking my order was pleasant and patient. I ordered why I normally would order at a Japanese steak house, House of Japan or Gengi Go, Steak hibachi. I had high hopes when she asked how I wanted my steak done. I ordered medium well. I probably should have ordered medium. The rice and steak were so well done that they were dry with no flavor. The mushrooms, cabbage and zucchini were the star, but unfortunately you get very little veggies. They each cost $1 to add. I did like the yum yum and ginger sauces. They were absolutely necessary due to the rice so dry and possibly old and the steak being so well done also. For everyone else who is complaining, it's a quick get and go hibachi place. It's cheaper than anywhere you'd go to sit down, and you get to customize your order which also adjusts the price. If you're going to get upset about portion sizes, go pay the extra $15 to drink and tip somewhere else because I'm sure you don't tip here. It's an amazing place with wonderful staff, and if you don't like it then your expectations are incredibly pretentious and you need to recognize what you're ordering. read more

Grove City seems to have them on every corner and this one by far is my absolute favorite! I only frequented those places a couple times a year for mostly special occasions. Today I showed up in an OSU hoodie and basketball shorts and ate outside on one of the picnic type tables with my 2 tweens in tow. We ordered Chicken Fried Rice with Teriyaki sauce, Steak Fried Rice with a side of Chicken, double Egg Yolk Sauce, and crab Rangoon. Portions are enough for a couple meals. The Crab Rangoon wasn't too sweet, which I enjoyed. For the quality and quantity, the prices are very reasonable. The establishment isn't very big at all. I noticed a slew of takeout patrons while we ate; many were regulars noticeably. The only people who were sitting were waiting in line for their food. It takes 5-7 minutes to prepare your food when eating in because everything is made fresh to order. As a matter of fact, just writing this review has me warming up my leftovers! read more

I tried this steak and chicken hibachi with fried rice and zucchini and the fried rice and steak were very good! The chicken was really dry and tasted kind of old and the zucchini wasn't cooked much, maybe boiled for a little, but no seasoning or flavor added like at an actual hibachi restaurant. We ordered chicken with side of scallops, steak and shrimp, and steak+chicken+shrimp hibachis. All the meat were cooked very well. The fried rice didn't have any mushroom and/or egg but it was still tasty. The egg yolk is so so. The food wasn't hot, probably because we called it in and had to pick it up. I am one of those people who orders extra and substitutions and they always get it right, always cook it fresh and always deliver it with a smile. The yum yum and ginger portions are small, but it's mayonnaise, butter and ketchup, folks. Even if this was 30 dollars, that's still 20 dollars cheaper than the joint next door. Listen- i know it looks like a bad waffle house on the outside. And it use to be a chinese take out place that smelled like vomit. But now? New owners and god are they hard working. If I could have given less than 1 star I would have. I ordered the crab ragoons and hibatchi chicken dinner. The crab ragoons were all breading and not much filling inside at all, and they did not look like the picture on the website. The Habatchi Chicken was very dry and tasteless just like the fried rice. The fried rice was a joke as it did not have any seasoning or vegetables in it it was just dark rice. In addition to the food being a big disappointment, they never put my 2 sauces in my bag and they need to update their menu on line as the prices are wrong. I seriously love this place! The food is great but the best part is the hospitality. Today was only my second time here. The first time was great so I wanted to try again to see if they were consistent l, and they are! The lady that works the front has such a great caring personality, kind of Mom-ish. She gave me free soup while I waited on my carry out and she didn't want me to leave without finishing my delicious soup. She even tried to get my to eat my carry out food there because she insisted it's much better hot lol. The express part in the name is real too, you get very close to actual full service Japanese Steakhouse quality in less than 10 minutes and only about $15 as opposed to over $30. There are several other businesses with this same exact concept but not the same quality and hospitality. It's hard to find a place that has great food, great value, and great happy people with family like hospitality but this place has it. Im shocked this place doesn't have a bunch more great reviews. I like this place, but my wife doesn't. Friendly staff and never had any bad food. Yum yum roll is good and I like the hibachi. Nice little patio for summer. Not super expensive hibachi and better than spending 100$ to go see it cut up. We will definitely eat there since we live so close even though a few improvements would help. Good luck. I've ordered here 3 times. The first my scallops were under cooked. The second I wanted a little bit of everything so I ordered scallops (asked for a longer cook this time), side of steak and side of veggies. They treated each side as a whole meal and I walked out $30 poorer and rice for three dishes. Enough to feed a small army. They do show you the food before you leave and when I said it wasn't what I ordered I was instructed to specify next time that each was for one dish and to specify they were sides. Tried to order again today. Asked specifically to have sides of items-one meal, as directed. Whoever is answering the phone has awful customer service. She just kept reading my order back to me. I said thank you, sorry, not trying to be a pain but it was way too much food last time and I just wanted to be sure we were on the same page. Rinse and repeat. Order read, "thank you just wanted to confirm" like three times. She just kept saying she already read my order back to me. Her next response "but is the food good?" Eventually just ended up cancelling and going to House of Japan. Who has way better food and customer service anyway. read more
