Located right off of Bethel, good location with decent parking. While most people pick up orders, there are also some tables were you can sit down and eat. Other tables were not cleaned but someone eventually came by too wipe them. My husband and I stopped in after a restaurant was too packed to seat us. We both ordered the chicken and shrimp hibachi, which comes with fried rice and cabbage. We also ordered the crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon was more sweet that I would've liked and did not have much crab. My husband enjoyed them. I would give this place at three out of 10. overall, I felt like the food was salty, but they give great portions. I had enough for both lunch and dinner. the chicken was fairly dry despite being sauced. my husband rated at a nine out of 10. Hence why I gave three stars. He really enjoyed the rice, portion, sizes, and the price. We paid about 40 bucks for two huge meals and the one side.

Had a coupon on Chowbus and decided to give hibachi express a try. What an absolutely amazing place! It is so incredibly tasty, more than reasonably priced, and great portions. We both tried the steak and shrimp hibachi with broccoli and cabbage and couldn't be happier. For our first time we tried the steak medium rare (they give you the option online for any meat temperature). It was perfectly cooked to medium rare, and deliciously seasoned. The shrimp was good as well. The broccoli has an amazing taste, and the cabbage was surprisingly good! The hibachi sauce that they cook it in is super classic, and the yum yum sauce is enjoyable, not too sweet but a good addition. The food was ready at the time I ordered it for and was hot and ready to eat. The portions are so large I'll be eating it all tomorrow. It's so cheap for the amount you get and all of the food was very high quality. Next time we look forward to trying the zucchini and crab Rangoon, I can't wait to go back! This was a perfect first visit and Hibachi Express is going to join our regular rotation for food!

This placed opened up where Mezze used to be. I had driven by a few days before and decided to check it out on Thursday for dinner. I walked in and there was one lady in there eating. It was still early though. Only 5:30 ish. I ordered the chicken hibachi with a side of yum yum sauce. It's made to order! I was glad to see that. And the chicken was fresh! It tasted...just okay. I've had better mall food. They gave a lot more rice than the chicken. The yum yum sauce gave a better flavor to the meal too. Overall, nothing special. The price point is good. It lasted me two meals. You can call and pick up is what it seems like. I didn't wait long when I ordered it to go though. Customer service is great too. They're nice!

Decided to try this place out given all the good reviews and the close location. I ordered the hibachi chicken to go. The chicken was too dry in my opinion and didn't have the nice "koge" aka slightly charred edges that I anticipate when I get hibachi food. I think they give a decent amount of chicken though so that was good at least. The fried rice that accompanied the chicken was really salty. I think I'd like it more if it had a little more flavor and a little less salt. I wasn't a fan of the yum yum or ginger sauces, but that is more likely due to my preferences than any fault of the restaurant. They have safety measures in place for COVID. All employees wear masks, gloves, pixie glass in place to separate the customers and employees, and encouraging primarily takeout only.

I went here for lunch as it was across the street from where I was working. The smell walking in of grilled food is always a plus and enticing. The place was clean and organized. I got the hibachi shrimp with extra veggies. The food was really good. I believe it was a little to salty but it was good.

This is my go to spot for Hibachi here in Columbus! No one else compares! Very fresh and they even get to know you pretty well. I wouldn't go anywhere else for takeout hibachi.

The food was all fresh and tasty. The scallop portion was much smaller than the shrimp, steak or salmon. All of them had a huge amount of rice in comparison to protein and vegetables as you can see in my pics. But it was all flavorful and worth the price. All entrees come with both ginger and yum yum sauce. The egg yolk sauce on the side was also good and a nice size portion for $1. The restaurant was clean. No one was eating in though they do have tables. I see it more as a carryout place.

If you miss the Japanese Steakhouse stop in here, it may say Hibachi express but the food is cooked with care. Tender chicken with flavor and shrimp cooked perfectly. You can add additional veggies to your meal for various amounts starting at $1 - very friendly, excellent customer service. Nice size portions. Yum - that is all I can say. Veggie spring rolls were very crispy and tasty

We spent $230 (w/ tip) and it was worth every penny. Probably the best Japanese restaurant in the city. We passed by this place multiple times on our way elsewhere. We're Mario fans, so the name Yoshi caught our eye, but the cramped strip mall exterior doesn't exactly scream culinary dream. We decided to take a chance, and let me just say--wow. It's an intimate space with just a few tables and an 8-10 seat sushi bar. We didn't have reservations (make one, they fill up fast) but managed to snag seats at the bar. The service immediately stood out. We had better attention here than at some upscale steakhouses--glasses never went empty, and their menu suggestions were spot on. One minor heads-up: at the sushi bar, staff sometimes walk behind you to talk to the chefs, which can be a bit distracting. For starters, we grabbed the gyoza and asked for a standout small plate. They pointed us to the beef tongue. It arrived hot with shredded onions and spicy mustard, delivering a buttery, melt-in-your-mouth tenderness with a deep, beefy richness. The gyoza was equally flawless. Instead of the overly chewy or burnt wrappers you find at most spots, these had a delicate, golden-brown sear with an intensely savory, garlicky umami filling. We paired this with Sayuri sake, a creamy, unfiltered pour that perfectly balanced sweetness with a dry, clean finish. Since we love nigiri, we ordered a spread: tuna, salmon, smoked salmon, sweet shrimp, and Japanese scallop, plus a salmon/avocado roll. The cuts were impeccably sourced and practically dissolved on the tongue. You rarely find this level of consistency. Just a heads up--they prepare it the traditional way, meaning there is a dab of wasabi tucked directly under the fish. We also tried the Wagyu A-5 roll. It's about as "meat and potatoes" as a roll can get: steak, carrots, asparagus, and rice. The seared Wagyu fat melted instantly, creating a decadent, buttery glaze over the crisp vegetables. It's one of those rare foods that genuinely forces you to pause after each bite. At $40, it was 100% worth it. I can't say enough about this experience. Next time, we're leveling up to the fatty tuna and Wagyu experience on their special menu. That's the exact culinary peak we've been looking for, and incredibly, it's tucked inside a suburban strip mall. Absolutely brilliant.

it a great time for a first visit since I wasn't totally sure what to expect…read more Our server greeted us right away and did a great job explaining how everything works. Sushi rolls travel around the restaurant on a conveyor belt right next to your table -- if something looks good, you just grab it as it rolls by. Easy and kind of fun. The restaurant is all-you-can-eat for $35.95, which includes sushi, appetizers, soups, a limited salad bar, and hibachi. You can order as much as you want, but they are serious about food waste -- anything left over gets charged at $13.95 per pound, which honestly feels fair. We started with a mix of appetizers, soup, and a couple of sushi rolls, and everything was fresh and flavorful right out of the gate. After that, we ordered beef hibachi, an order of wings, and a pork belly bun, plus tried the crab salad and seaweed salad from the bar. Once again, the flavors were on point. My only real complaint of the night was the chicken wings -- they tasted like frozen, reheated wings. Not awful, but definitely the weakest item we tried. We went back for a few more sushi rolls (because... obviously), then finished with dessert. We had an orange-flavored sponge cake and a coffee-flavored sponge cake. Both were light, delicate, and surprisingly good -- a nice way to end the meal without feeling overly full. So the big question: Is it worth the price? For the quality of the food and the variety of choices, I'd say yes. My recommendation: go hungry, keep an open mind, and try a little bit of everything. You might just discover a new favorite.
