I love Hibachi Express. It's really close to where I live and I go about once a week. I get the hibachi steak with all 4 veggies added and sometimes an order of chicken egg rolls also. The fried rice is only okay, I don't typically eat it because it's not good enough for the calories to me. Sometimes my steak is over cooked or tougher, but it's not enough to negatively impact my meal. The meal also comes with sautéed cabbage as well, and all the vegetables are always delicious. The chicken egg rolls are delicious and the sweet and sour sauce they come with tastes bottled, nothing special. read more

IF I COULD LEAVE 0 Stars I WOULD! This food was disgusting and poorly made. I ate 7 pieces of my shrimp, some of my hard chicken and couldn't STOMACH the rest. My rice was cooked so hard or undercooked so much that it made it hard, either way it wasn't edible! I tried kindly bring awareness of this issue to the restaurant and was talked to with a COMPLETELY CARELESS ATTITUDE about the entire situation. They refused to REMAKE the meal. I don't even care about a refund as the cost was never the issue. They only agreed to make me a small side of rice that they thought they were going to hand over to me. I left this "meal" and their petty side of rice right on the counter and let them know I will NEVER be returning and I'll be sharing my experience online since they just refused to resolve the issue appropriately. Sad, because I visit this location often and they just lost a loyal customer of some pieces of food that could've simply been resolved. Tacky! Unprofessional and need a new HVAC system because it was cold as hell in there. read more

With the mixed yelp reviews, I was hesitant to try this restaurant.... but on a whim, my husband and I wondered in, and was pleasantly surprised. You are greeted moderately warmly by the staff... restaurant is very low key, so this isn't a place for a nice date night.... We ordered a few things to share: Teriyaki Hotwings, Hibachi Shrimp, and Shrimp Tempura Roll. The hotwings were very good! The spice level for us was on point! I am not a 'one the bone' wing lover... the meat is usually pinkish and oily... these were not... I would definitely try them again. The hibachi shrimp was nice as well.... they were made fresh, and served with fried rice, a mixing of sauted cabage and carrots. We were also given soup - wasn't listed on the menu to be received. They serve the traditional 'yum-yum' sauce. The rice was a little off - much better with the yum-yum sauce... the soup was a little bland - could use a little salt... all in all, a good meal. The shrimp tempura roll was very good. The tempura was a little heavy, but nothing too much to stop me from ordering it again. They offer a failry large menu. My husband is interested in trying the hibachi scallops... if they are good, we may say a final good bye to Genjo Go (no tears from me). This is defintely worth a try. read more

I finally got around to trying this place, after reading so many great reviews. I ordered their Hibachi chicken. It's served with fried rice, cabbage & carrots. The food was good. Chicken was tender and had a nice flavor. I loved the cabbage & carrots. My only complaints would be the small portions of hibachi chicken and the Yum Yum sauce was, way too sweet. Thus, my explanation for the 4 stars, instead of 5. This place is a close 2nd, to ( Hibachi Go ) which is my go to place for quick hibachi. read more

Good food location lacking! I'm all in on the food here. The portion sizes are nice for the price. I mean nothing special as far as the types of meats veggies or rice. The best thing is the quick service and the hot food. But the location needs an update or a paint job or something. It was a 10-minute wait (because they actually DO cook your food on the spot), and that was exactly my drive time. +The interior was sparse, but extremely clean. +Everyone working was very friendly. +The prices were fair for takeout hibachi. I think we paid about $30 for the two of us. +The food was really tasty. The Mister said his chicken was dry but loved the steak and shrimp. I thought it was all delish. And their yum yum is on point. So is this some fancy hibachi place with flaming onion towers? No. (Fancy hibachi... bhahaha) But take it for what it is. I tried Hibachi Express today for lunch mostly based on prior reviews, hoping to find an alternative to Genji Go. It was fantastic! Everyone there was very welcoming and attentive, asked the gentleman taking my order what was good today and he said beef, so I ordered beef hibachi medium. Sometimes medium is a gamble and you end up with way overcooked meat but medium truly meant medium here. He asked if I wanted vegetables and I said I just wanted whatever it came with, no extras snuck into the bill like it tends to at Genji, total cost was $7.99 and a much better value. I thought the rice was delicious without the yum yum sauce, and the portions were huge! Of course I can't say no to yum yum so I did add it half way through. The space is clean, there are a few booths and tables, maybe 10 or so, but it is in an aging strip mall location so it isn't a snazzy place particularly. Didn't seem to bother the folks eating there one bit. I got takeout and was very glad I did, great food, service, even got utensils and napkins without asking, that's becoming rare these days. read more

A friend suggested this place to me and I am thankful they did. The prices are excellent and the food is super fresh and tasty. My only beef (no pun intended) is that they only give you 1 small container of Yum Yum sauce. Compared to Genji Go, this place gives you more bang for your buck and it is less crowded here. The food is really tasty. The flavor is great. They don't have any problem making something to order. Carry out time in my three experiences has never been long than 15 minutes. It's reasonably priced for the amount of food that you're getting. It's a little frustrating not being able to have a conversation in English with someone at a restaurant in my own country, but that is far from the worst thing in the world to have happen. I see reviews where they complain being charged a dollar extra for veggies, not sure where u have been but that is pretty custom and that is for places that cook it all ahead. THIS PLACE DOES THE ODER ON DEMAND. Veggies arent prepared sitting around rice isnt in a big rice cooker and steak isnt sitting there like leather over cooked and dry... this is when u order they start COOKING ur food. Wow! What a find!!! Found the review because we needed something near the airport and felt like sushi/hibachi. Soooooooo good. Gyoza was crispy and tasty and the portions huge. Had the spider roll, Alaska roll, and the Yummy Roll (understates the fabulousness of it!). Everything was very fresh and meticulously prepared. The fried rice was soooooo salty. And the yum yum sauce is very sweet, like over-the-top sweet. The chicken was pretty decent, as were the mushrooms and zucchini that I ordered on the side. The beef was fairly tender but had almost no taste. We ate in, and that was a mistake: the booth felt kind of greasy and shabby. We tried this place because it's very close to where we live and recent reviews were pretty good. We had never had hibachi before so we really didn't know what to expect. When we walked in, we weren't sure if we should just seat ourselves or what to do. Then we noticed the "Order here" sign all the way in the back. So to the back we go. After ordering, we went and sat down to wait for our food. The place was clean, which is always good. A lady brought us some soup, which we didn't know was included based on the menu, it was just a simple broth. Nothing special. Our food came shortly after. The meats were served with a large helping of (bland) fried rice, some stir fried cabbage and carrots and sides of yum yum sauce and ginger sauce. We had never had yum yum sauce and probably never will again. It clearly had a mayo base and I don't know what else was in it but I didn't find the gloopy stuff attractive or tasty. The ginger sauce was good though. The shrimp alone were bland. I ended up pouring ginger sauce over the shrimp and veggies and mixing them up together. Much better but still mediocre. I can't honestly say we'll be going back. Definitely not any time soon. Wasn't too impressed with food or service. Thought this place was good. But recently it has gone downhill. There is not one person there that you can have a full conversation in English. Came in tonight and ordered a steak Hibachi with an extra order of steak. Got home and there was barely a handful of pieces in the order. Called because they charge $4.99 more for an extra portion and there was definitely not extra in there. They transfered me to 3 different people because they didn't understand. They said they would credit me only if I drove all the way back and brought the portion with me. Word to the wise.. dont bother adding extra. You are going to get the same portion regardless. read more

I LOVE the food, but EVERY time I order, my order is double the time I am quoted on the phone! That is the purpose of ordering in ADVANCE, so all I have to do is go in, pay, grab my food, and leave, with NO WAIT! Also, I have to call about 20 times before I get through, because you get a voicemail box half the time. That is my only issue. If they would invest in a better ordering system and get more organized, they would have a better take out experience for the customer! read more

Really good and cheap Japanese food with nice people. Highly recommend it if you like hibachi-style food without all the extras and expense.

Food was a bit dry, chicken and steak was OK. Sushi was terrible, rather foul smelling. Probably would not eat again.
