I been going to mr sushi for years. They are consistently great!!! Definitely my go to spot for sushi.

Ooof been here a couple times and always had and okay experience. Came back tonight since it's near by and probably won't ever return. Horrible service and a piece of bone in spicy yellowtail crunch roll. Also, it's always freezing in here fyi!! read more

This has been our go to sushi spot. I had sashimi which was excellent. But i also ordered tuna avocado roll and salmon avocado roll. The rice was mushy/gummy and did not look inviting. The taste of the rice ruined the roll. My companions shrimp tempura roll was the same. The waitress was flagged down and suggested that they remake the rolls wit some fresh rice just made (was the rice they gave me not fresh). The new rills arrived and were decent but did not come up to the level of previous visits. The raw fish and avocado filling were superb but the tempura shrimp was not excellent. I am concerned that experienced sushi chefs would allow the original rolls to be made and served. No manager came over to us after the remade rolls were served to see if we were satisfied. A future return is now in question. read more

Mr. Sushi is an award-winning sushi restaurant and a Cbus Top Pick finalist in recent years. The dining area has a definitive, Japanese ambience, and the sushi chefs can be seen practicing their craft while you are eating. A wide variety of traditional dishes are available. This is a place where I have repeatedly brought my friends from Tokyo when in town. The first time I did so because they were looking for this specific cuisine. On return trips, they specifically asked to come here because they had enjoyed their previous encounter. I think that says volumes about the quality of food preparation, presentation, taste, and texture of what you find here at Mr. Sushi. Carry out is available, parking is never a problem, and reservations are usually not an issue. Although if you do walk in without a reservation there may be a short wait to be seated. read more

I recommend this place for anyone who loves Sushi. The service is excellent, the sushi is spectacular and you can eat in or go out. The dining area doesn't have much ambience but it doesn't matter because the food is so good! It is family friendly; there is plenty of parking and if you want to grab a bite to eat before or after shopping there is. Fresh Thyme market right next door. I love it here. It's busy. I got here a little after 6 and it was packed. read more

Apparently I've eaten here before - my review draft hasn't been posted yet, haha. Since my last stop was apparently in 2021 - Anna H. and I stopped here after checking out Schnormeier Gardens, I'm going to meld in this most current experience and post. Here it goes: There's still no official sign above this location; you really can't miss the hanging banner out front, though. The inside space is a mix of booths and tables. The open long sushi bar was nice: you can see them working away on sashimi and rolls from every table-point in the place. The music was smooth, a good house mix, and the volume was low enough to hear the words but also talk to others. Service was good. The gal running FOH was pleasant and happily answered any questions I had. This second stop-in, I went with the gal's suggestion and got a Sexy Girl roll and their Ebi Shumai. Apparently, my last visit in '21 I tried their Shumai too, but got their Caribbean Roll (added carrot and crab stick; asked for light rice, too). Their Shumai is served sitting in a warm fish broth. Solid, good appetizer to start; tasty and good size. My Sexy Girl roll was also pretty good. I like rolls that have enough flavor profiles to them that I don't need the soy sauce; happy to say, this one (and my previous Caribbean Roll) didn't, which is an important criteria of mine. The pickled ginger here is one of the tops in town, imo. I DO remember having this exact sentiment at my first stop here in '21, so I'm happy to see that hasn't changed. Both times, I've ordered from the apps section in the menu and a roll from the paper nigiri/sashimi/rolls menu. I didn't think to check out their other entrees they offer; I should check out those pages next time. read more

Met with a rather large group of people for dinner and we all were seated at two large tables right in the middle of the dining room (10 at one table and 8 at the other table). Great sushi in a tucked away location. Service was great and prompt. Definitely will be back!

This is my go to for sushi but today i went outside my box and tried all new things. I got the nigiri appetizer and the stone pot chicken bibimbop which came with soup or salad... I always get soup here (so good!) so I tried salad that comes with a ginger dressing. Service was quick. We were sat immediately and the server took our order promptly. nigiri was amazing... wasn't surprised as this is a great sushi spot. Then the salad came out. Bluk. It looks unappetizing with the thick ginger dressing on it. I was adventurous. I tried it and still Bluk. Husband didnt like it either but ate it. I ordered miso soup. So glad I did as it was amazing as it always is. Then the stone pot came. Oh. So. Much. Rice. Hardly anything else and it tasted bland due to the rice ratio. Also think I chose the wrong protein as I know people that have had the beef and LOVE it. My husband had the seafood stone pot and said it had good flavor he would get it again but would ask for less rice. We will be back... but I am sticking with sushi here. They rock sushi. read more

My sister and I grabbed some takeout sushi for lunch yesterday. We both got shrimp tempura rolls and added cream cheese. We asked for spicy mayo on the side as we really like it and usually need more than a drizzle. Sadly, there was none in the container when we got home. We even asked before leaving the restaurant, but should've checked ourselves. The rolls did have a spicy mayo drizzle and were still good. They were a little sweeter than I'd like, but I would still eat them again in a heartbeat. read more

Very good sushi! Waitress was good, inside was just fine, sat at a booth and part of the seat was torn but not that bad. The sushi was extremely good, and the wait wasn't bad either. There wasn't that many people there though. But I would definitely recommend the rainbow roll if you go. read more

Great little sushi spot by Easton. I came in towards closing to get some sushi to go and it appeared to be a quiet, chill place to grab a meal. It was quite spacious and dimly lit so pretty nice for a quick bite or date. Staff were kind and helpful as it was my first time and I was just putting in an order for takeout. They gave me time to make some decisions and I was able to get like 4 rolls for ~$30. The rolls I had were all pretty good, nothing fantastic but for the price seemed fair. They have a mix of classic rolls like tuna, salmon, eel, along with some specialty rolls with a mixture of things. I'll have to come back to try some of their tempura rolls as I figured those won't travel as well. Overall, this seems like a decent, affordable sushi spot. Particularly nice if you're out by Easton and want to grab some sushi. read more

I love me some good sushi and the moment I mentioned to my boyfriend that I needed to go to Gahanna, he immediately insisted that we stop for dinner at Mr Sushi. I had never been, had heard good things, and was totally down. We got there around 6pm, without a reservation, and holy cow, how did it fill up so quickly in there? By the time we were heading out, every single seat was taken and there was a wait. We were directed to take a seat at a booth in the corner and handed menus. I don't know why I think it's so fun when sushi places have menus where you mark off what items you want, but it is and that's how they do it. Our server was attentive and friendly from the jump and it didn't take long for our sushi to arrive at the table. We ordered a plum wine to share and we each picked out two rolls. I specifically picked out the shrimp tempura and the Buckeye roll. My boyfriend ordered two of the deep fried rolls and we called it quits there. Although... they do have a really large menu and there were several other items I would try. It wasn't hard to notice how reasonably priced everything here is. Our bill came out to about $40, which is awesome. I live near downtown and the sushi is more in the $14-18 range while here it was more like $10-14. That's reason alone to make the drive and come back. I didn't have much of an appetite but I devoured my shrimp tempura roll. It's always one of my favorites. My boyfriend did a number on the other three and we had a few bites to take home. We were both super satisfied. Will we come back? Absolutely. read more

I was excited to try this place, as I've heard good things! It's slightly pricey, but the lunch menu is pretty good. We got the three sushi combo with California roll, spicy tuna, and salmon roll. It was pretty good, fairly plain tasting. The green tea was the same, kind of bland. And the fried dumplings were great! Highly recommend the dumplings. The server never came back after giving us our food. Another server came over with the check, so that was weird. I would say I was underwhelmed with the service but would like to try their food again. Oh, and the salad was gross. Iceberg with a dressing that didn't even look appetizing. It was chunky. read more

Gosh we were happy tot find a new spot everything was fresh and very nicely made. Good portion size and great service can't wait to go back.

We've visited this restaurant for 15+ years and love it every time. Good service, great food.

I went here a couple days ago to celebrate a friends birthday and it was a great experience. We had a reservation and our table was ready when we got there. The service was great and quick. Our sushi didn't take too long to come out either. This time I got a salmon roll which is fresh and delish! I got the volcano roll and the kanikatsu roll. Both of those were very flavorful and savory. I would get all 3 again. I also took pictures of some of my friends' plates because I thought they looked amazing!! read more

Great service although the server didn't seem too thrilled to be there haha. The shrimp tempura was cooked perfectly with a crispy outside breading. Large Kirin was amazing with a frosted glass. We got the Alaskan roll which was great and then an eel roll. I get sushi cravings quite often and this sushi and their hot sake really hit the spot. This sushi boat was perfect for two people. The boat came with a soup and salad. For the most part, everything tasted fresh but we got pretty tired of the sashimi towards the end. The waitress was really nice but service was a bit slow. Overall, Mr. Sushi in the Gahanna location is a solid choice for sushi if you're ever in the area or craving for sushi. We'll definitely be back to try other specials! read more

I came here to do a takeout order since I have seen such raving reviews and I had just gotten back from being out of town. The inside was very clean and the ceiling lighting looked so cool! They have a pretty extensive menu of Japanese food and sushi. My friend ordered the teriyaki salmon, spicy salmon roll, and a salmon nigiri with a side of miso soup. I ordered a tempura udon ($10.95). While we waited, we asked for waters and the employee was kind enough to get us some. It took about 15 minutes for our order. The miso soup was good! I liked the tofu in the soup because it was so silky and soft. The sushi rolls were okay. My friend didn't like them. The rice was falling apart and so were the rolls because it wasn't rolled tightly. I think they gave us the wrong roll instead of the spicy salmon because what we got was not spicy at all. It was off taste and texture wise. The tempura udon came with two shrimp tempura on the side. This was really tasty and crunchy! The udon on the other hand, I did not like. There was the fake imitation crab thrown into the soup and I think it made the whole broth taste extremely fishy. There were fish cakes and regular cremini mushroom in it with some seaweed. Not what I would expect for $11. I will say the noodles were chewy and cooked well. I probably will not be back based on my first experience which is unfortunate. I really did want to enjoy the food! read more

I really loved this place. But the customer service is awful. They will seat you and ignore you. Not consistent with the sushi. I placed the same exact order and received different items. Never mind the chicken habachi ‍

Delicious and fresh tasting sashimi! The servers were outstanding and very accommodating. We called ahead so they could prepare for our table of 7 adults and 2 children. They went out of their way to help us with the kids. I know it's silly but this place was awesome all the way down to the chairs not making a sound when you scoot them, they glide seamless over the floor, as a mom going back and forth between kids, this was an awesome aspect. And the bathroom was so clean and private, overall a great experience! read more

I'd been going to Mr. Sushi for at least 10 years. Even moving 20-25 minutes away, I still made the drive, as it was my favorite sushi place. While most of the time I've had good experiences, more recently, I've had poor customer service experiences. Several weeks ago, I ordered carry out and once arriving home and unpacking my order, I noticed the two rolls o ordered were not correct. I called them and after explaining why I was not able to do another 45 minutes of driving to correct their error, I was told I would be provided with those two rolls complimentary on my next order and it would be listed in there system with my phone number. Yesterday, I was somewhat in the area and craving sushi, so I placed an order and mentioned they were to be at no charge due to a previous error. Upon arriving to pick up my food, my bill had charges for both rolls. When explaining this to the woman ringing up my bill, she was rude and loud. She eventually removed the charge for one roll. I politely persisted in requesting the charge be removed for both rolls. Again, the woman continued to be rude and loud saying they don't do that. As I tried to re-explain the situation, I was interrupted and she abruptly walked away. After about 5 minutes of this and disappointingly, several other employees observing with not interjection, the charges were removed. To top it all off, I got home and my baked sushi rolls were burnt. Needless to say, this was all super disappointing.‍ read more

I had been here years before when it was a few doors down, and liked it, and I've been to the one in Dublin. Small, bright and open by the windows, some cozier seats in back. Super service, start to finish. I started with unagi and maguro nigiri. Both were good, but not the best or most tender I've had. Fresh tuna, nicely cooked eel. Fairly forgettable. Next I had a couple of rolls. Volcano roll, which is a California roll with spicy mayo and some other additions. Very good, unctuous, huge pieces. Well balanced flavors, a little heat. Then the #4- I think eel, green onions, etc. Again, big pieces, nice balance of flavors, over the top stack of roe, etc., on top. There are a lot of interesting rolls on the menu, and apps and entrees, but I didn't have the time or money for a feast. I'll go back someday and waddle out. read more
