I was staying at a hotel and I was hungry and tired. I finally decided that what I wanted was ramen. It was a bit of a drive to get here, and from the description, I thought it was a sit-down restaurant. So, I was disappointed when I found out that it was sort of fast food. On the other hand, because I was tired, I decided to take it to go. They told me it would be about 10 minutes until my order was ready, but it was probably less than 5. Well, I was pleasantly surprised! It was quite tasty and I liked how it was wrapped so nothing spilled or got soggy. It ended up being a good choice.
Solid. I'm a ramen novice and this is only my 2nd experience. I ordered the chicken curry ramen extra spicy. The coconut broth was amazing! I enjoyed the egg, mushrooms, bamboo shoots, cabbage and noodles. The chicken... was only eh. My pieces were too grisly. Cute atmosphere and the robot is fun
YUM IS ALL I GOT TO SAY. I love a good coconut broth and this one gave me that savory flavorful satisfaction I was looking for. If you are a coconut broth person, this is it. The ajitsuke eggs are the bomb as well. Omg melts in your mouth. Bomb combination with the coconut broth and th chicken is super satiating. Meaty and tender. That's some good protein man. Thank you guys! The place is cute too with the plants in the middle for a nice nature effect for ambiance.
I enjoyed my visit to Hiro and will definitely be back! My group ended up being 14-15 people, so we used both of the big tables in the side room to accommodate us. The other table arrived before we did, so when I sat down their drinks were already arriving by robot. You scan the unique QR code at your table, then place your order and checkout. By using the QR code the robot knows exactly where to deliver your order! The mobile ordering was very easy to navigate and had customization options (such as no onion, sub meats, or no sauce for entrees and the ice or sugar levels for drinks). I ordered the peach mango tea with regular ice and sugar, which I very much enjoyed. It was ready within just a few minutes. I wasn't feeling ramen, so I instead ordered 2 appetizers: the pork belly buns and shrimp tempura. The pork belly buns were delicious! The bao bun bread was soft, the pork belly had a lot of flavor, the crunch from the carrots and cucumbers added texture, and the 2 sauces added more flavor. My shrimp tempura were very crispy and the breading was not too heavy. Friends ordered various ramen or rice bowls, which it seemed like everyone enjoyed. There were also a variety of different drinks ordered - the house tea got good reviews.
Decent ramen. I had their spicy miso ramen, it was good except for the pork belly, it wasn't cook right and tasted a little wierd so I didn't eat that. I also tried their pork belly cheese fries, which were delicious with the okonomi sauce, house-made spicy mayo, and cheese on top and once again, pork belly wasn't good this time. Good service, they have a robot machine delivering your food to your table which is pretty cool.
We got the spicy miso ramen and the black garlic ramen. The food was excellent, very flavorful, and we were served generous portions. I wanted to love this place. However, I also ordered the lychee rose fruit tea and was disappointed to discover that it tasted exactly like febreeze... I took the tea up to the counter hoping to replace it with something drinkable and the employee was deeply uninterested in even talking to me, much less helping me. I'll admit to my ordering mistake and chalk it up as a loss, but the attitude of the employee left a sour taste in my mouth.
When I first walked into the restaurant I was immediately greeted by the staff. The person behind the counter explained to me how it worked. You don't have to walk up to the counter. You go sit at a table and scan the QR code to order. Then when your food is ready to come out, it is brought out by a robot server. It was a cool experience. The restaurant was clean and quiet. I could tell from people coming in and walking out that it did have its regulars to the ramen shop. The food was delicious and the drink options were plenty. I tried the pineapple passion fruit which was refreshing on the hot day I came in. This may be a place I frequent often anytime I want to get some ramen.
Went to Hiro on a whim because I wanted to experience the robotic magic! The building is quite unassuming, being an old Burger King, but inside there are robot servers! Be prepared to order online. Honestly this place is an introvert's paradise! We had issues with our online order, so we had to go up to the counter, but typically you wouldn't really have to talk to anyone. I got the miso ramen with udon noodles, and my fiance got the steamed buns and the shoyu ramen. I also enjoyed a pineapple smoothie blended with water, with mango star jelly. Their ramen is pretty good. I wish the eggs were cooked a bit less though, they were mostly just hard boiled. We will definitely be back!
They never fail always super good and super fast. Good place to come if you want to eat alone. Which I did. Watch my movie while eating great food. I'll never stop recommending this place to everyone. Only negative. I wish the broth was a hotter temperature. But that's me. I like my temp to burn my mouth

The ramen here is consistently good. I got the Spicy Miso and my daughter got the Tonkotsu. My daughter loves the bubble tea and the robots delivering the food and drinks.

Ordering Even with a large party, it is possible to order separately and pay separately. The food arrived on the robot and whoever is at the end needs to read the order number and might have to then pass the food down (kind of reducing the point of a robot server). Ambiance They had bamboo covers over all the outer windows and coupled with the plants, it had a cool vibe. It was tough to not see the architecture of the former Burger King or Wendy's but if you're young enough, you wouldn't know the former layout.

I also tried my brother-in-law's pork bun. Everything tasted delicious and fresh. The spicy tan tan ramen had a soft boiled egg in it, corn, green onions, and a few other vegetables. If you like ramen noodles and a spicy soup then you'll love the spicy tan tan ramen but I don't remember it being that spicy. The side of edamame was a a great appetiser - salty and crunchy. The pork bun was a typical bun but still good SERVICE (3/5) -- We arrived at 7:40pm and my guests and I seated ourselves inside the restaurant since no one seated us (it's open seating, I assume). I don't remember anyone greeting us as we entered. After ordering, a robot machine delivered our food to the table which was so cool. A waiter never came to our table at all because this is a self service restaurant. Infact, we had to scan a QR code on the table where we were seated to review the menu and I didn't notice any physical menus. Overall, if I'm ever visiting this area of Columbus again, I'll love to stop by to try a different menu item. we love Hiro, everything we've tried over the years has been delicious! good vegetarian options and I especially recommend the udon because it's full of vegetables and the sauce is delicious. tofu is juicy and chewy. boba is 4/5, great texture and flavors but not uniquely special. interior is cozy and staff is always warm and kind! read more
Stopped by Hiro Ramen for the first time and was seriously impressed. This is one of those great little spots that may not look flashy from the outside, but absolutely delivers on flavor. They offer a solid variety of ramen, rice bowls, and udon noodle dishes, along with some really tasty appetizers. Everything we tried was fresh, well-priced, and full of flavor. The portions were generous and the broth was rich and comforting -- exactly what you want from a good ramen spot. One of the coolest parts of the experience? The food is delivered by adorable little robots, which was both fun and surprisingly efficient. It definitely adds to the charm and makes the place stand out. Service was smooth, the atmosphere was relaxed, and the food came out hot and delicious. This was my first visit, but it definitely won't be my last. Hiro Ramen & Tea is a unique place in Columbus to dine. This is in an old burger king, but has been remodeled inside . The wait staff are robots that bring your food after you order from a QR code on the table. As mentioned in other reviews, the food arrives fast and the robot is always friendly. We tried Hiro after seeing all the positive reviews. It's a stand alone building, that probaly used to be an old fast food restaurant (Arby's or Wendy's). They had 3-4 employees standing at the counter but when we went to order, they directed us to the QR code on the tables to order through the website instead. That is infuriating to me. I understand allowing guests the option to order online from the table, but for someone that likes to ask questions about the menu and perhaps make substitutions, ordering online doesn't cut it. If we wanted to order online, we would've gotten take out. Especially when the employees were just standing at the counter doing nothing. Okay I digress. After we ordered, they have a robot that brings out the food. Interesting to say the least. I tried the White Peach Tea and Chicken Rice Bowl. The tea was like $6 which I felt was a bit much for flavored water. It was also loaded with sugar so I don't think I would get it again. The chicken rice bowl had a good portion size and the vegetables seemed fresh. The seasoning was lacking -- just some teriyaki sauce on the chicken but nothing else. Felt like something I could've made in my own kitchen. To top it off, you are expected to bus your own tables when you finish eating. That's fine in the right context, but it just seemed like Hiro wanted anything but to interact with a customer. I am also confused as to why there were so many employees (outside of the chefs in the back) when there is literally nothing for them to do. Anyways, we won't be back. read more

Positives: lots of toppings in the ramen, including veggies. Broth was flavorful but not too salty. Boba and pork buns were tasty. Food came quickly and the robot was cute! Parking was easy, decor was cute, and music was not too loud. Negatives: the hubby thought noodles were a little soft and the tonkotsu broth could use more flavor (though I ironically appreciated that it wasn't too salty like a lot of tonkotsu broths I've had). No service from humans if you care about things like having someone to refill your water. Overall impression: would definitely go back for a quick bite when I'm in the area! Would also be a nice place to eat with friends. read more
I was visiting Columbus, OH and never been here. You sit anywhere, scan the QR code, place your order online, and a ROBOT delivers your food. You grab the food off the tray & click "Ok" on the screen. Your whole order may not be brought out at one time but the robot will come back. You do have to bus your own table though. I guess this makes up for not having to tip. The place is clean and nice. The service was great even though you don't have to interact much with the staff. I guess I can say the robot service was great, no complaints there. I got the fried tempura. This was so good. It wasn't too oily & the crispiness was perfect. The veggie ramen was great as well. The broth wasn't too strong and I wasn't super thirsty afterward which is good otherwise it would've meant they put a lot of msg. I highly recommend this place! read more

Second review for this place, first time getting takeout (Grubhub) & was pleasantly surprised. I live at the end of Gahanna that's closer to New Albany & this place is kind of far & so I'm not always optimistic about getting food that spends so much time in transit. The food was great & I've never had ramen packaged like that & I order A LOT of ramen. The dividing tray kept every warm & spill free. The flavor & toppings were good. The broth tasty. The gyoza was yummy but the sauce they came with is excellent. I love dumpling sauce and most times I'm disappointed with a soy based plain dipping sauce. Not this one. This one reminds me of the one I grew up with that I had to ask for extra because I'd drink the leftovers lol. Nice vinegar tang to it. I will definitely be ordering takeout from them again! read more
I loved this place! You order from a QR code at your table and it's delivered by a robot! It was speedy and delicious. We got the pork belly buns and I got chicken ramen with medium spice. The pork belly buns were delicious. I typically don't enjoy pork belly, but the crisp veggies in it were a perfect balance. For the ramen I got the chicken no egg no mushroom, add bean sprouts and bok choy. It was sooooo good. I wish I had went with the full hot instead of medium hot but I very much enjoyed. The crunchy vegetables were perfect and the chicken was seasoned well. read more
Hiro Ramen is my family's current favorite ramen shop in Columbus. It's more of a quick service fast food vibe as opposed to a full service sit down restaurant theme that the other ramen shops in town go by. Because of that, the ramen here costs slightly less than other ramen shops in town. You place your order on your smartphone and a robot brings all of your order to your table. My kids love that, and it's actually an additional reason for going to Hiro Ramen. Now, the most important part: the food! They have good noodles and good broth. The serving portions are generous and you get more toppings compared to other ramen places in town. If I was pressed to name one point of improvement, it would be their pork belly-- it's seasoned like Chinese Char Siu pork and not Japanese Chashu pork. They're very different tasting. read more

Drove really out of my way for this one after seeing it on TikTok/IG ads. Well worth the hype! My friend ordered the Chicken Udon noodles which were of pristine thickness and tasted just as good as they looked online (and in-person!). My ramen as dense with flavor - and felt very on-par with some of the best ramen spots I've tried in Columbus to date. Chicken was fall-apart tender and the other various ingredients added not only a nice visual flare, but a unique taste profile as well between the marinated bamboo shoots, ajitsuke egg, and mushroom/corn. Special shoutout to our wonderful (ROBOT) waiter who was incredibly friendly and patient with us ;) no but really, what a nice modern touch! So freaking cool. read more
Heard a lot about this place and finally had a chance to visit, and it did not disappoint! As soon as we entered we were greeted by a friendly staff. Since this was our first time visiting, the young lady told us how it works, you pick a table and each table has a QR code, which you use to place your order. Then your food will be delivered to your table by robot server. The place is clean and nicely decorated. I have been to few ramen places in Columbus and this is definitely one of the best I have been to so far. So as per the food, we ordered veggie Gyoza, Chicken Curry Ramen (medium spice level- it wasn't spicey at all), and the grilled chicken bowl, and Chicken Udon. Every single item was great, seasoned well and flavorful. We customized the broth on the Ramen to be vegetable broth. You actually can customized any order to your liking or dietary restrictions. We also ordered, pineapple smoothie, mango tea with mango boba and Lychee Rose Tea with mango jelly. Everything came out pretty quickly by the robot. Out of everything we ordered, my favorite was the Chicken Curry Ramen and the Mango Tea with Mango Boba. I want to go back just to try out other items. Great place to come and have your ramen fix. This was so flavorful, the customer service was good, the employees were nice and the ambiance was very interesting to say that least it looks cool inside. The Ramen itself was great, I'd probably get a higher heat next time but nevertheless it was really good. Also great if you're feeling under the weather. read more
I have been wanting to try this place for a while. I loved the drinks and these were the first to come out! Next the robot came by with the shrimp tempura, and then lastly came with the rest of our order. I loved that you could customize everything right through your order through the QR code menu. Our food came out fairly quickly and was not overly busy on Memorial Day. Of course, it was an added quirk to get served by a robot. My husband got the grilled chicken ramen extra spicy. Unfortunately, his food was not spicy enough and he did not feel much depth of flavor in the broth. I have the curry chicken rice bowl. I wish there was an option to add spice level to the rice dishes, because it was not spicy at all, which I would have liked. The shrimp tempura was good. I would have appreciated the fried chicken to have a dipping sauce. It really lacked that. I would go for the drinks again. read more
Is this the best Ramen ever? No. Is it the best Ramen Columbus? Maybe. Does this satisfy the crave of being hungover after a massive night of drinking! Absolutely! Very goof ramen, loved that its all automated. Order and pay through your phone and a little robot dude bring it right to your table. Do not let the outside of this restaurant fool you! I did, and I've lived down the street from this place for 2 years and never stepped inside. It took a snowstorm and us desperately wanting to leave the house to get dinner on a 0 temp night for us to give in and try Hiro Ramen - I'm so stoked we did! You order at the table to dine in and a cute robot delivers your food, or order on the kiosk for quick takeout. The portions are decent, and the food is so flavorful. The curry chicken ramen is a standout - perfect amount of curry. The broth is to die for. Food is reasonably priced and a great quick service option while running around town. We've been 3 times in 3 weeks if that's saying anything. read more

I was a little surprised to see this place is set up somewhat like a fast food restaurant but the food definitely surprised me in the best way. I had the veggie gyoza (5/5, some of the best veg gyoza I've ever had), the veggie rolls (3/5), and the black garlic ramen. The broth was rich and flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked with a bit of a bite. The service was mostly performed by robots (which my 5 year old loved!) and that was a good thing because the actual people working were not super friendly. They were not rude, but also didn't seem happy to be there and couldn't accommodate a simple request to not include the noodles in a friends order even though he was willing to pay for the full bowl. Regardless, I'll be back again next time I'm in Columbus! read more
Greeted by friendly staff as soon as we entered. The young man explained how everything works, so we picked a seat, scanned the menu, and placed our order -- we got a variety of things to try. Mr R had black garlic ramen and liked it. I got medium-spicy tan tan ramen and loved the flavor, but it wasn't very spicy at all. Next time I will go for spicier I think. Pork shumai were good but I think I would skip them next time and save room for more ramen noodles. The robot waiters are SO fun! That made the trip completely worth it for me. The food was good - solidly in the middle for us. The iced coffee milk tea was delicious and I need to try that more often! I wish the broth had been hotter. It wasn't super hot which was less than ideal. We did end up ordering extra noodles ($2 - amazing value) but I ate way too much!! I did enjoy the favor of my ramen. Ok this place is a GEM!!! I think it used to be a Burger King but is now a Ramen and bubble tea place! My husband and I had a day without the little one and we had passed this place a few weeks back and wanted to try it. My husband says this ramen is even better than Meshiko, which may be a hot take. I just loved the flavor and loved that you could customize in the menu that came up when you scanned the QR code! The service was great, it was a ROBOT that reminded me of Rosie from the Jetsons. The ambiance was surprisingly charming for the inside of a former fast food place! They had cool lighting and some nice décor! Anyways, give it a shot! read more
So, for no logical reason, my wife and I have been eating at a lot of local ramen restaurants lately. It makes even less sense when you consider the 80-90-degree weather outside. Having tried a couple of other places, we finally found a true gem in Hiro Ramen. The place is quite unique - you place your order using a QR code on the table, and a robot brings your order to you. The ordering process is very straightforward, and each item on the menu is fully customizable. You can even add notes to take this customization to another level (e.g., we added a note to change our ramen's broth to chicken-based instead of the default pork-base. Or, you can add a note to make your chicken bowl extra spicy). This ordering and robotic delivery process was a huge hit among all age groups of our party. We ordered the Veggie Gyoza, the Chicken Curry Ramen, the Curry Chicken Bowl, and the Chicken Udon. Everything was excellent - all the dishes were very flavorful and right level of spicy. The portion sizes were also generous. Another reason I like Hiro Ramen so much is their drink menu. Unlike other ramen restaurants where drinks are an afterthought, this place is worth a visit just for their drinks. I love how they have several bubble team options, all of which you can customize while placing your order. We tried the mango tea, the lychee rose tea, as well as the pineapple tea. All our drinks were tasty and were made perfectly to order. Not only do I not recommend Hiro Ramen highly, I am already looking forward to my next visit here. read more

Located in the old Burger King building you would never know. They did a great job redecorating and repurposing. Not much here that's gluten-free but I accompanied a friend. She thoroughly enjoyed the Ramen and I treated myself some Edamame and a coffee bubble tea. Both were tasty! The thing that will make me return is the adorable robot that delivered our food to our table! You order on the app and it brings it to you. Then you bus your own table. Parking is plentiful. read more

We walked in and were immediately greeted and given an explanation of how to order at your table, by app. The drinks and food were so very good that I want more. And a robot delivers your food. Came here on a Saturday a bit past 12:30. It was busy, but there were a good number of tables open. We were greeted by a staff member at the door and she sat us. I saw a lot of groups of friends and mostly families! It was formerly a Burger King. They've renovated it a bit, but the floors were a dead giveaway LOL. Anywho, the large space and booths really help to accommodate lots of people. You scan the QR code on the table and order online. Food gets delivered by a robot. I saw about 2 of them moving around. They seem to have a sensor so that they can see in front of them in order to move. I'm sure they're programmed to know where the tables are located. We ordered takoyaki to share. It was okay. Presentation was good, but it was a bit mushy and kinda bland on the inside. We both chose ramen as our main meals. I got the Gyuniku (Beef) Ramen, while my friend got the Shoyu Ramen. As another review said, it felt like they skimped on the meat. The Gyuniki ramen could've had more beef in it. Otherwise, I really liked what I got! Not a bad portion size. My friend thought her Shoyu tasted off...like it was missing something. She couldn't put her finger on it, but she really loves Fukuryu and may've been comparing it to that. I also ordered the rose hip milk tea, which a staff member told me is one of the popular choices, other than the classic and the amber milk tea. The bubble tea was decent. I chose 50% sweetness but could've done 25%. I didn't really taste the tea in it, although the rose hip had a fantastic flavor! Staff was nice though! They walk around to make sure people are doing well and if they have questions. The food didn't take long to come out either. We must've waited 10-15 minutes? Overall, a fantastic option to have around here! Seems like Columbus is trying to expand the ramen options. And it's reasonable prices here too! read more

Do they have smaller portions for Kids or a kids menu?
Unfortunately there is no kids menu, but you could order them appetizers, those are a good size. My son and I just split a plate of udon because the portions are fairly big.
