I came here with a group of friends last Saturday to celebrate a special occasion and I cannot speak highly enough of the staff and experience. The food was delicious, came out quickly, and the service was impeccable. There were people in our party that came early and had to leave, and people that came late, and the staff stayed on top of the group insuring everyone had what they needed which was no easy feat. We came here on a Friday night as a walk-in. We have been wanting to come here for month but timing hadn't worked out. Thankfully we were able to quickly get a table and since it was nice out we sat on the patio. We order 4 different rolls to try and I had a lychee martini. Honestly we were pretty disappointed in the sushi. For the cost of the rolls we felt like they were pretty small. They also didn't really have a wow factor in flavor when eating them. First time at this location. I met some ladies for book club and we had a nice table (2 put together). Our server was very accommodating and efficient. The menu has a variety of sushi and non sushi options and they were able to get us in and out in time for our painting class. I had two rolls - a spicy salmon (always a favorite) and the Engine #5 with crab, avocado, and spicy tuna on top. The spicy salmon was my favorite and a solid choice. The Engine #5 was OK. The spicy tuna on top was very finely minced, kind of like a sandwich filling and I didn't love it. Don't let the name deter you! Needed an extra special work day lunch time treat, so searched for the nearest and best sushi place for pickup! After peeking at the menu, decided to give this place a try. Not the cheapest in price OR flavor! I was not dissappointed. I definitely spent more than I'd prefer on lunch for two rolls, but ..... Typically, I don't get appetizers at sushi places, but I tried the pot stickers and soft shell crab. They were amazing! I highly recommend the pot stickers. I really enjoy the Mr. Sushi in Gahanna so I decided to check out the Mr. Sushi in Dublin while we were in the Dublin area. I was surprised that there are differences between the two locations. For example, the Hot Stone Veggie Bibimbap is only $15 in Gahanna and served with a soup or salad and unlimited Gochujang; whereas, is $18 in Dublin and is not served with a soup or salad nor unlimited Gochujang. I think not having the unlimited Gochujang peeved me with the Dublin location as I had to wait and ask for more Gochujang FOUR different times. Every time I asked, the server brought a tiny cup which was not enough spice for me. I also ordered the baked salmon roll as an appetizer and was surprised at how small the roll was for $13 (which the roll is also considered a speciality roll). While I did enjoy the food here, I think that I will continue to stick with the Gahanna location going forward. I am glad that I was able to check this location out though! read more

It's one of my favorite foods and I'm always looking for new good sushi places. Sadly this was not it. First let me say that the location was great. The interior of the restaurant was very nice and clean, the service was wonderful and the prices were very reasonable. But the sushi just didn't do it for me. I had soup prior to the sushi, it was good but definitely nothing special. The sushi rolls were fairly small and just didn't taste as fresh as I like. Like most Californians, I am a bit of a sushi snob. I was very impressed with the quality and taste of the sushi here. This is definitely the best sushi I have had in the Columbus area. Service was a bit lacking, as the server forgot to put in part of our order and didn't do anything to make up for it. Love this place ! It's in a very busy area and you might have to park in the garage and walk a block to get there. They have a front and back entrance . The back entrance has a cute little court yard. They have outside seating but unfortunately it wasn't available when we went. They have plexi glass between the booths. The mandoo is delicious and perfect every time I get it ! It Is served over a delicious sauce and never over cooked . We got the dynamite roll, the mr sushi roll, eel and cucumber roll, and the trust me roll. The dynamite roll has a lot of spicy Mayo on top but is very good, I get it every time. Mr. Sushi is a wonderful little sushi restaurant in Dublin. We've dined in several times and just yesterday brought home some carry out. The service is quite good --- the staff is generally polite and helpful with any questions on the menu. The sushi is fresh and of high quality. Unless you are looking for high end Toro, you won't be disappointed. The portion sizes are quite good. For example, the mr. Sushi boat is an excellent deal, with a variety of sushi/sashimi offerings and rolls, and more than enough for two or even three adults. I've tried a variety of different rolls here and not been disappointed, except perhaps by their spicy tuna roll which was ok. This is a Korean owned establishment, but the sushi is served Japanese style. I haven't tried their Korean dishes, so can't comment. Their sake selection is limited, but I've always found good cold sake here. All in all a solid place with a reliable menu and consistent quality. On a cold, wet Friday evening we found ourselves in the mood for sushi. It was a somewhat last-minute decision, and we were uncertain as to whether we would actually be able to get into a restaurant without reservations. The fact that March Madness was going on didn't help us in this endeavor. I called our normal go-to for sushi and was told that all reservations had been taken for the night and that the wait for walk-ins would likely be over an hour. So I called Mr. Sushi, a place I had not heard of before and knew nothing about. I was told that, for two people, there would likely be no wait, and that no reservation was necessary. My first thought: it's a Friday, I don't need a reservation, and there will be no wait -- is this place that bad? We decided to give it a try anyway. When we arrived, we saw that there was a mix of people: middle-aged folks probably in the 50s, a couple of young families, a few couples in their 20s, and a couple of tables of teenagers. It's not a large restaurant, but it was nearly packed, which indicated to me that it was obviously not a bad place. It was clean and stylishly decorated -- not a white tablecloth type of restaurant, but definitely not a greasy spoon either. It was comfortable. We were promptly seated and given water, and within about five minutes we were asked if we were ready to place an order. We ordered seaweed salad and mandoo (dumplings) as an appetizer, and they were delicious. They came out within 2-3 minutes of ordering them, so they must have the mandoo already prepared and ready to go. They didn't taste like something that had been sitting under a warming lamp, however; they tasted freshly prepared, and the sauce over them was great. We had enough time to finish the appetizers before our sushi rolls came out -- a yellowtail roll, a spicy salmon roll, a bulgogi roll, and the engine #5 roll. All were really good, as good as anywhere else I have had sushi. (Tiny rant about Japanese restaurants: My one and only complaint, which is a complaint about most sit-down sushi restaurants, not just this one: they cannot make a martini! I have yet to go to a Japanese restaurant where they can make a martini. I'm not saying that they make bad martinis. They literally cannot make a martini. All of them have gin, but they don't stock vermouth for some reason. Yet, they have a menu chocked full of cocktails that include three or four ingredients. It's a simple 2-ingredient drink, gin and vermouth, but none do it.) Will I go back? Yes! The food was delicious, the service was great, we were served promptly, and the place was clean. After eating so many sweets during the Stroll I only needed a little bite to eat. We only ordered two rolls and the waitress gave us the most disgusted look. The rolls came out, and were nothing special. The Philly Roll did not have very much flavor. The Spicy Tuna Roll was good. It had just the right amount of spice to it.
