For $6 a scoop, this place is truly a must GO for dessert if you are in the Mountain View area. The $6 scoop, is more like a $6 cup full of ice cream. It look me around 15 minutes to finish the whole thing and I am considered a fast eater... I got the mint flavor and it tasted exactly how you would expect a mint ice cream flavor to taste and bonus points for it having so many chocolate chips in it. Every bite was fun to eat and it was delicious. Not much else to say, but great ice cream, clean environment, and friendly staff. Disclaimer: They offer you a free ice cream scoop for leaving a review, but the fact that is free does not impact my rating of the ice cream! I would be more than happy to come back next time and pay the cost.

Decided to come here for a sweet treat after dinner. I ordered the Thai tea rolled ice cream with Oreo crushed in and condensed milk and mochi toppings. Once I ordered, the worker got to work rolling it right away so my ice cream came out really fast. You can taste the Thai tea flavor in the ice cream but I wish it was a bit stronger as the Oreo really muddled the flavor. The mochi is a nice added texture too. My friend ordered a scoop of ice cream and omg you def need to share it because the scoop was huge and they did not finish it. I would say it is really worth your money for the rolled ice cream but I would definitely be back for the scooped ice cream.

In the heart of DT MV, a cute ice cream shop lies with the cutest and most knowledgeable Kween's staff, Ashley and I'm sorry but forgot the girl's name. The shop has plenty of seating, cute IG photo worthy signs, and definitely many dessert combos to choose from! They have ice cream Sammie's, scoops, rolls, shakes, and more! Totally loved how they customize their desserts too! Our faves were the Thai tea, ube, and Oreos rolls! Such a great treat this Christmas

Kweens is a solid dessert stop in the downtown Mountain View. The location is pretty convenient for a date or hang out because you swing by after lunch or dinner nearby. The space is a pretty good size with several tables, so it works well whether you're coming as a couple or with a small group. I tried the ube ice cream and really enjoyed it. It's creamy and not too sweet. They also have a bunch of different options on the menu, which is always nice if you're with people who want to try different things. Rolled ice cream can sometimes take a while, but my order came out faster than expected. Service was good and friendly overall.

I've had my eye on this place since it changed names and I finally got to go recently! They have tons of options for mix-ins and toppings so you can really go crazy. I got the cookie butter base which was excellent. I always enjoy rolled ice cream and this was really good! I'd definitely come back.

Yummy rolled ice!! Got the Thai iced tea with mochi topping. Originally they forgot to add it in but when I went up to ask for it they quickly added it in for me. Yapped with friends for an hour or so so great yapping place HAHA they had this one light that would not stop swinging and it was mesmerizing at times...

Was craving ice cream, after eating sushi next door. It was raining when I went so it wasn't so busy. They had a nice selection of ice cream to choose from, and toppings. I settled for some ube, with coconut flakes, and mochi bites. It's a good spot if your're in the downtown Mt. view area and craving some ice cream

The lines are long but seem to move fast. They have both normal ice cream and the fancy rolled ice cream made in front of you once ordered. Plenty of tables for seating!

I really wanted to like Kween's more. I like the idea of rolled ice cream. Watching the folks make it was fun. It's Benihana...for ice cream. However, the ice cream I got Oreo was not very flavorful. It was creamy in texture, but not much in the way of flavor. It was a bit of a surprise. Service was good that the team member that served me was helpful in making a suggestion. Everyone there was nice. I guess I will have to give them another try. Here's a pic.

I came here two days in a row with one simple mission: get a shake. That's it. But both times I was met with the same crushing news--the blender is broken. Cue heartbreak. Now, I'll admit--I'm not a regular at independent ice cream shops, so walking into a spot with a split menu (rolled vs regular ice cream, with different flavor options for each) kind of sent me into decision paralysis. I was already disappointed about the shake, and trying to decode the menu on the fly made me a little anxious. So what did I do? I panic-ordered. Ended up with cookie dough ice cream, crushed Oreos, and what I can only describe as a pleasantly reckless amount of Nutella. (Nutella makes everything better.) Fingers crossed the blender is up and running next time. And hoping this isn't one of those "McDonald's ice cream machine is 'broken' because nobody wants to clean it" situations (kidding...mostly ).

I came in at 4:10, and the workers were friendly! The restaurant was clean and fresh! (Perfect for summer btw). I ordered an Ice cream roll and it is pretty good! I ordered: Nutella (as the base) 2 mix-ins: Marshmallow and brownie bites 2 toppings: Popping buba and whipped cream

Kween's Ice Cream had excellent service, a warm and welcoming ambience, and some of the sweetest, most delicious ice cream I've ever had!

The dumplings were a bit on the bland side, but otherwise good. Service was relatively quick. The interior is clean and well kept (I guess more than you'd think looking at the little strip it is part of), and the wait staff are friendly. The parking lot for the strip mall this is in is on the small side, though, and may be tough to find parking during the lunch rush if you don't arrive early (and I would highly suggest carpooling). Unfortunately, the customer service left a lot to be desired. I arrived shortly after they opened, and there was no greeting or acknowledgment when I walked in, even though the restaurant was empty. When I approached the counter to pick up my order, I gave the name it was under. Instead of confirming the order or asking any questions, the first thing I heard from the cook was, "Get her card first." The cashier then immediately said, "Give me your card." Only after my payment was processed did they hand me my food and say, "Thank you." I completely understand that businesses need to protect themselves and ensure orders are paid for before they're released. That's not the issue. It's the way it was handled. As a customer, it felt like I was being treated as if I might take the food and run, rather than being welcomed into a local, family-owned business. A simple greeting, confirming the order, and then politely requesting payment would have made all the difference. Great customer service and protecting your business can absolutely go hand in hand. The food was outstanding, but the experience made me feel unwelcome. Sadly, because of the customer service, I don't see myself returning.

Everything is above average in taste and execution. Brunch Tacos mole: chicken mole poblano, scrambled eggs, huitlacoche, tortillas, epazote crema, fried shallots & avocado. Perfect portioning and the salad that came with it had a fantastic dressing. I pulled some chicken out and gave it to my wife and then it was perfect, a bit too overstuff before. Fried egg sandwich: two over easy eggs on house baked brioche bun, chipotle aioli, avocado, bacon, cheddar cheese, fried shallot. Kids loved this and happily ate the leftover after. Iced Mexican Cafe: delicious iced coffee with a distinct Mexican taste. Distrito Verde: mezcal, basil, lemon, and falernum. Simple but refreshing brunch cocktail, really paired well with the mole tacos. Chips and salsa: These are not free but worth the price. Okay but... a hotel coffee shop with good matcha? That's the plot twist I didn't know I needed…read more We stopped here on my way out of Santa Clara heading to San Francisco -- it's conveniently close to a bunch of other spots, and since it's tucked inside a hotel, parking was ridiculously easy. (Underrated luxury.) Now, the hotel itself? Visually... a moment. It looked like someone invested serious money into it, but the design felt a little space-meets-startup-meets-what's-happening-here. Some elements felt elevated, others felt a bit makeshift. I genuinely couldn't tell what the theme was -- futuristic? celestial? boutique-on-a-budget? I'm still processing. The front desk team was clearly well-trained and knowledgeable -- they had every answer, every stat, every rate breakdown ready. But the warmth? Missing. I was hoping for a little storytelling since I'd never heard of the hotel before, and instead got a very matter-of-fact "we've been here five years" energy. Efficient, yes. Inviting, not quite. But let's talk about why you're really here: the coffee shop. Completely different vibe. Two people working, both genuinely happy, welcoming, and quick. We ordered a latte and a matcha to go -- total was about $22, which made me blink for a second -- but then I tasted the matcha. Oh. This wasn't the overly sweet, dusty-green situation you sometimes get. It tasted clean. Real. High-quality. The kind of matcha that feels intentional. I love Firehouse in Marin, but this? This was closer to serious coffee roaster-level quality. Smooth, organic-tasting, beautifully balanced. You could tell they care about what they're serving. Branding was strong, the space was cute, and I could absolutely see myself sitting there with my laptop pretending I'm writing something important. We grabbed ours to go, but it had that easy, airy, "stay awhile" energy. Would I book the hotel? Jury's still out. They don't have an in-house spa and mentioned bringing in third-party services for certain amenities, which made it feel a little less full-service than I expected. Would I go back for the coffee shop? Without hesitation. Delicious drinks, easy parking, quick service, and a vibe that actually makes you want to come back. Sometimes the side character steals the show -- and in this case, it's 100% the matcha.

Because, once again, I was distracted by the quality of the food, and there would be no way for me to do anything else, but to eat! Today, I was in the mood for something more than a salad (much as I wanted to preset what I had the first time coming here, I made a concerted effort to order something else...), thus I chose the Forager Flatbread. It took less time to make this time (roughly about five minutes after ordering), and when it came out, I marveled at how it looked like a work of art! Just beautiful! Each piece of herbed formage blanc flatbread had a nice, crunchy bottom (but not blackened) and a slightly tanginess, with a a good amount of "hen-of-the-wood" mushrooms, sweet roasted garlic and a bed of arugula. My, oh, my! My first bite was a multi-level extravaganza! The crunch of the bread, followed by the aroma of the herbs and arugula, then the saltiness of the cheese, the sweetness of the roasted garlic, the earthiness of the mushrooms - all came together as just a wonderful work of culinary art! This being my first time eating today, my saliva glands just fired off at first bite, causing a bit of intense pain from too much saliva shooting out. But, seriously, this was a very delicious entree, that I enjoyed from start to finish! Bravo for this second joyous experience!

Cilantro tastes like soap to me and ever since my first visit, even when I forget to ask for no cilantro in my food, they remember for me :) And the food! I thought I didn't like cauliflower before I tried their cauliflower taco, and now I get it every time! The vegan bao, the elote, and the plantain taco are also amazing, and they have the best mocktail to all time (ask for the yuzu one). Both the indoor and outdoor dining experience is wonderful, plenty of space between tables, flowers lining the outdoor tables, a great place to chat over a meal without getting overstimulated. And it's right in the heart of the downtown, so you can check out the bookstore a few stores down or the boba shop down the street. I can't recommend this place or the people who keep it running so well enough -- I always leave with a happy stomach and a happy heart.

The food came in on time so we really appreciated that. I tried the Cochinita Pibil which came with rice and plantains. I liked that the meat was soft and full of flavor as well as the rice. The salty and sweet from the plantains went well together. The other item i tried was the Pollo cochinita pibil bao bun. This was also very yummy and full of flavor. I definitely enjoyed that the bao was so soft. Overall, it was a solid experience and would want to go back to try more!

We ended up ordering a slice of mango cake and yum. Definitely did not disappoint. Tasted like a good old fashioned Asian fruit cake in the best way possible. Light, soft sponge, airy sweet cream, hint of mango. The high praise for Asian dessert of "not too sweet". My only complaint is that I wish we lived closer!

Dishes that are vegetable-based or prioritize seitan and tofu are typically the best kind of vegan food, over fake meat that never tastes like what its imitating. I wouldn't bring someone without dietary restrictions here, but I think it's a perfect place to bring a vegan/vegetarian/meat-restricted person. They have a lot of good options here. The soups are relatively flavourful for vegan broths. The curry fried rice is delicious as well. I also appreciate the variety of drink options made with vegan milk substitutes. The service is pretty fast considering how busy it gets. Some of the workers can't speak much English, but it hasn't been an issue. Southeast Asian food can be very meat-heavy, so places like this are great. If your vegetarian friend is ever craving Thai or Vietnamese food, bring them here!

Final Thoughts: 4.20/5.0…read more Contrary to many other opinions, I personally really like brunch. It really is more for the vibes and spending time with my friends and family versus the food sometimes. For some reason, this place has always been on my list of to-go brunch places, but I've just never had the chance to go here. After our matcha run, my friend and I decided to go here for brunch. It was around a 45 minute wait today. On their Yelp, appears to be quite the quaint place to to get food and relax. Will definitely be a 4 star for me. Food: Jumbo Crab Bene with seasonal fruit: 4.0/5 This is their fresh lump crab with sliced avocado, whole grain mustard and poached eggs stacked on lightly toasted English muffins, topped with scratch made Hollandaise sauce and garnished with locally sourced microgreens. This is served with either house potatoes or seasonal fruits. The lump crab is actually fresh crab I believe. There are some pieces of the shell that were still in there. I'm honestly not even mad because that's a pretty big indicator that it's the fresh crab meat picked out. The egg is nicely poached with a runny yolk. Hollandaise sauce is quite nice and light. The Dijon mustard was quite strong for me and did overwhelm some of the other flavors on the plate. It does add a nice flavor, but occasionally, it was too much. For the English muffin, it was quite thick, so it felt kind of dry. It's noted to be slightly toasted, but its somewhat hard to tell with the mustard, crab meat, and poached egg on top, which are mainly wet items. Avocado is perfectly ripe. I'm not an avocado person, but this one did it just right for me. The fruits came with blackberries, blueberries, strawberries, apples, cantaloupe, and honeydew. Very refreshing and needed after the savory foods. Philly Steak Sandwich with garlic fries: 4.0/5 This sandwich has grilled steak with peppers, onions, and mushrooms topped with provolone cheese on a toasted baguette with mayo and a light teriyaki drizzle. Will come with either a side of house salad or garlic fries. I really liked how they caramelized the onions and peppers inside of this. There's that additional sweetness from it that works well with the steak and cheese. Very tender meat. The bread also seemed kind of big and just almost dry too. Not too big of a concern given the amount of filling that they give. My friend choose the garlic fries and those were amazing. The cut is just right and the crisp on the outside is just so good. You can taste the garlic, but I could do with even more garlic to it. --------- Quality: Fresh Something I really like is that they use real crab in their jumbo crab bene. You can actually feel the tiny pieces of the shell in it, which usually means its fresh. The food did take a second to come out, but both were piping hot. My friends onions and veggies were quite caramelized, which is nice. Brings out a lot of the flavor component in the sandwich. The fries were actually so good too. I wanted the side of garli fries, but it was convenient that his came with it. Super crispy, nice size, flavor is good. May need a little more fresh garlic, but overall, really good. Price: Reasonable Prices seem reasonable for what they give. Initially, it does lean more on the expensive side, but their portion sizes are larger than your average brunch place. Prices will range from between $18 to $24, with a few outliers. Service: Very sweet workers Very nice service here. Everyone was sweet, greeted us, and checked on us. Our food did take a little longer than some others around us. For us, it was around a 25-30 minute wait after ordering our food. Even the table next to us that were seated after got their food first. The food did come out fresh, so I'm not really complaining. They did let us know and give us little updates about our wait and food though. Ambiance: Classic Brunch Spot The space is nice and looks slightly cramped inside. It was just my friend and I and they gave us a seat right in the corner next to the window. Honestly, probably the best spot for me and the person who seated us also noted that it was his favorite spot in the house. I didn't see much beyond from what was seen by the door. The space looks fairly small, but fit a decent amount of tables with walking space in between still. Always love the open kitchen. It's fun to watch what happens behind the scenes. Location/Parking: Large space It's located right on Saratoga Avenue. There is a Lucky grocery store here, so there is a lot of parking around. We really didn't have any concerns finding a space at all.
