I love this place Lots of frozen dim sum variety and a lovely area to sit and relax and enjoy a hot pot of Chinese tea and fresh egg tart Friendly staff service

Specialty frozen dim sum shop that has all your dim sum needs and more! Saw that this new shop called Kwan was open and was very curious to see what they sold so I popped into the shop to take a look for myself. Upon entering, the shop is huge with lots of freezers for frozen dim sum. On the left of the shop you can find an assortment of Chinese and Japanese snacks and candy. To the right of the shop is where you will find the frozen dim sum. Any dim sum item you are craving, they will probably have. In the middle of the shop are tables where you can sit and eat perhaps some of their baked goods that you buy. They have some unique dim sum items that you can find at higher end dim sum spots such as molten egg steamed buns (black coloured buns with a swipe of gold colouring on top). These were great to make at home and so tasty with the ooey gooey salted egg yolk in the middle. I also got the chicken feet which was made fresh and found in the fridge area. This dish was also so good once heated up - highly recommend. In the back of the store you can find frozen Korean food. And there is also a bakery section where they sell cakes and buns. The staff were super friendly and upsold me on some bbq pork pineapple buns that were fresh and piping hot. They were so delicious and I can't wait to get them again. I'd probably be back for more frozen dim sum options along with trying their cakes. They sound delicious!

A one stop shop! I initially came here to check out their frozen dimsum selection but was surprised that there was much more than that! Their frozen dimsum options are quite vast, with many favorites and more! I picked up some go-to items like pork ribs in black bean sauce and their molten egg black sesame buns; as well as some new items to try like their glutinous balls with black sesame (though I had a tough time choosing between that one and their mango... it also comes in durian, brown sugar, and pomelo!) They also have a bakery section where we picked up some chocolate-dipped butter cookies and their flakey pastry egg tarts (so good and warm to eat!) They also have a nice selection of cakes and other goods like BBQ pork pineapple bun. Last but not least, they also have a mini shop section that reminds me of Oomomo as there are snacks like imported chips and candies, as well as some small items like mini shovel spoons and wedding party favors. In the center of all of this is a beautifully constructed seating area for you to enjoy any ready-made foods. Overall, the place is well-kept and clean, and the staff were very friendly and informative. Fun fact: when you spend $50 cash, you will get a $5 coupon to use on your next visit! (That coupon has no minimum)

Was introduced to Kwan Specialty Shop last month when we came to pick up a black forest cake Mother's Day! Service was friendly enough but may take time to get help because the shop is big and sprawled out, and most of the staff were behind the counter. The outside is very dark. But once your step inside it was such a surprise! Nicely decorated, the space has a full bakery, cafe and tea shop, with pantry shop area and big frozen dim sum and desserts area. Must return to try more! The black forest cake was meh though. It was beautiful, but it was somewhat frozen in texture - and even after sitting out a while, it wasn't melting which is.... interesting. I have heard good things about the frozen dim sum though, so am curious to return and try that.

This is a store that specializes in frozen selections of many dim sum and classic Chinese dishes. They also offer some limited bakery and beverage items and they also have a small sit-down dining area. We picked up a selection of frozen buns and also a braised lamb casserole to try. The products were quite decent upon thawing and heating. The lamb casserole was a bit light on the meat content though. Of course, there is also a premium to be paid for the frozen convenience so it's not going to be your cheapest option. Bonnie was the friendly and engaging Cantonese attendant behind the counter, and she handed us out-of-towners a couple of thank-you and farewell bonus items.

I love that the desserts were not too sweet. Flavours meshed well and and felt natural. I really loved the Osmanthus goji jelly!! It was super refreshing especially in the heat. Ladies were very nice and answered our questions with detail. As you can see in my interior pic, it's pretty trendy and modern. It's great for buying a dessert and enjoying the asian atmosphere that this place offers. They also have frozen dimsum and steamed rice. You can buy them and eat in the restaurant. They also have a VIP membership program but I didn't really check out the details. They always have something new. Check them out!

It's a new spot where you can get frozen dim sum, snacks, loose tea leaf at a very reasonable price. The list goes on! Located right beside 乙龍天 Skyview Fusion Cuisine. In terms of the frozen food, I got veggie chicken nuggets and veggie bean burger. $5.99 each. The egg tart was so tasty. The pineapple buns I haven't tried it yet but if you get 6 no tax! They have hot vegetarian dish where it is ready to eat and for take out at the cashier. Overall, I enjoyed the egg tart, not too sweet and flaky.

Dim Sum Wholesale in Markham for frozen dimsum and authentic homestyle dishes!! we've always loved Kwan's dimsim restaurant when it was still around and we were so excited we can finally enjoy their food at home now! Lots of parking space in the plaza (woodbine/yorktech) next to Costco and lots of frozen dimsum specialties and all-time favourites! This place is mainly for purchases for frozen food and not much for dining in but their frozen items are easy to steam at home and ready to serve! Their website also says they have party trays for fried food and pasties but I've never tried. Maybe I will try and post another review later on! I highly recommend this place for an easy dimsum fix at home!

I drove by and decided to see what they sell here. There are baked goods like cake, egg tarts and pineapple buns, snacks like pockey , candies and some ramen/ instant noodles. There is also a section with frozen dim sums, and dishes you can reheat at home. I'm not sure about pricing as I don't usually purchase these type of frozen food . But I did get the golden black sesame bun which was 4 for $5.80. I also bought 2 pineapple cha Siu buns which they tried to give a promo as it was the end of the day and wanted to sell whatever was left. They had the flaky egg tarts too, I liked butter tarts instead but they didn't have any. The pineapple bun was quite small and was about $2.40 each after 30% off end of day sale. I thought it was a but expensive , but the taste and texture was good. There were cha Siu inside plus pineapples. They also sold a lot of different tea leaves. There is an area in the middle with chairs and tables that you can sit and chat. I asked if they sold tea or Coffee thinking that's the purpose for the tables and they don't sell them. So maybe it is just for you to enjoy the cake slices . Maybe I will come back to try the frozen dishes one day.

High end interior renovations! The place is super organized, the food is packed very nicely & safely, freezers are organized. Staff is readily available to help & make recommendations. Tried a couple of their dim sum dishes & baked goods (egg tart & pineapple bun) and my family thoroughly enjoyed it! Highly recommend, will be coming back.

Today, tried a newly renovated place for lunch (dim sum), let me tell you this, it was a real…read moredisappointment. When they provided with a table it was right next to an exterior door, with people going in and out. The was a cold draft, we even had to tell the hostess/manager, if they could provide a divider to divert the draft from hitting our table. We ordered 9 dim sum dishes, one be Roasted Pig Mixed Cold Jellyfish, which was $23.80. I had the idea that it would be a fair portion. When it came, I was shocked, it was only 6 pieces of Roasted Pig. When I spoke with the manager about the portion size, he commented "for that price it is fair". There was not apologies and walked away, nor was it written on the menu. If I had known it was only 6 pieces (size of your index and middle finger put together). I would not have ordered it. If you want to have Roasted Pig, you can get better deals else where. Also, ordered Marinated Chicken Feet for $13.98, when it came to table, it was also a disappointment, part of the chicken feet was dark in colour, not even sure if it was even edible or not. Another dim sum dish that I have order was the steamed chicken with fish maw. The chicken was okay, but there was only two small pieces of fish maw, (the size of each piece was 1/2 inch by 1/2 inch). The order 6 dim sum dishes that was order was mediocre, tasted better from other Dim Sum restaurant. When I received the bill for the meal it came out to be $119.50, they even had included the tip. They didn't even give me an option weather a tip was even worthy. I will definitely not be returning to this place. I definitely do not recommend anyone to come to this restaurant. I would consider blacklisting this restaurant. It's simply deceiving customers.

The individual New Century slow boiled soup is hardest to share but secure some empty bowls and you can divide the hefty portion. In the winter, there's a silkiness to the piping hot consommé that sooths a dry throat and has an umami essence infused with abalone, ginseng, and pork. There's plenty to choose from in the house signature combo platter including roasted duck, soy sauce chicken, BBQ pork, pork slices, and seaweed salad. Saving my stomach for the later dishes, I had a taste of the duck (a good start with crispy skin) and BBQ pork (satisfactory and well flavoured). With the generous portion of chicken in the combo platter, the slow cooked chicken with abalone broth seemed like overkill. I've never been a huge fan of this dish that's served cold since I prefer chicken hot. Still, I understand it's the jelly layer between the skin and meat that people enjoy. And to be fair, the chicken was tender, and New Century certainly didn't skimp on the ginger and scallion oil. For those who tend to fill-up before the "main dishes", the stars of the combo arrive mid-meal. The stir-fried Vancouver crabs with silver fish in HK style spicy sauce needs to be eaten at arrival as the crunchy coating is best straight from the fryer. And despite not looking spicy, the dish has a light heat that permeates in the background. Additionally, the crab was fresh and meaty, cooked well so it remained delicately flakey. The amount of sweet and sticky sauce used in the stir-fried lobsters with scallion in Maggie sauce was well balanced, lightly covering the crustaceans. Both lobsters were substantial; even after eating many pieces, we still had plenty of leftovers. This is a long review head to Gastro World for the rest.

Parking still sucks, lol. As someone who isn't a huge fan of dim sum or the traditional dim sum tea, I was really happy to see that they now offer HK Style Milk Tea as well as various flavours of slushie and bubble tea offerings. As a milk tea lover, this alone would make me choose this place over another. :) The restaurant itself is quite spacious. When you enter, it's the front counter and a take out shelf (with LOTS of people ordering take out). There is a dining room to the left and to the right. I like that the tables are generously spaced apart, unlike some other dim sum places. Food wise, it's pretty decent, like any other dim sum place. I wouldn't say that it's anything special and no dish really stood out to me. We were a larger group so we ordered 2-3 rounds of stuff, and sometimes would just ask the server to add on a dish for us. I don't know if this was confusing for them or what because a lot of our dishes didn't end up coming. Of course, dishes that didn't come were not charged. The bill itself is a little confusing but they are happy to explain it to you. Instead of an itemized receipt, it is just multiple lump sums for tea charge, S/M/L items, special items, etc. Gratuities are already included.

Shrimp and veg filling were nice. 3.5/5. Rice rolls with cumin lamb - less common version of this. Sadly not much lamb, cost more for same portion size as other rice rolls, too much cumin and celery. And still too mushy. 2/5. Giant dumpling in soup - ok. Nothing bad, nothing amazing. Pretty standard. 3.5/5. Bbq pork with noodles in soup - the pork was excellent. In terms of value, the bbq pork with noodles was a giant portion and great lunch special deal at $15. Feeds 2 easily. Highly recommend. The dim sum dishes varied, typically just under $10 each. Pretty average pricing and mediocre quality. The pigeon was $20 but not done well. Tea was $2.50 per head which imo is too high for a place like this. The restaurant itself has the typical tacky decor with a rainbow of colours and lighting found in Chinese banquet restaurants of this vintage. It was clean and comfortable enough. A bit run down but fine. Plenty of free parking out front. Overall, solid average with an exceptionally good lunch time bbq pork noodle deal for value.

So we ordered Maggi Lobster (~3lbs) for $34/lb, and stir fried beef with Chinese broccoli (gai lan). The lobster was cooked perfectly, with the Maggi sauce not being too salty. They definitely gave us all the pieces of the 3lbs lobster. The gai lan had a bitter aftertaste, which is common for this vegetable. I wished they had a way to get rid of that. They were generous with the amount of beef and was well marinated. The cut wasn't that great, but that is to be expected. I don't think they added much MSG or at least used good quality ones, as we did not feel overly thirsty later in the evening. They give free daily soup and dessert. What we were most impressive was with the service. The waiters were very attentive, changing our plates twice during our 1ish hour meal. The also gave us wet wipes and more napkins without us requesting it. They even offered us additional soup, which we declined as we were quite full.
