I do wish they used smaller ice cubes so the drink would last just a tiny bit longer. I also tried their chocolate croissant. Good, but would've been better warmed up! I don't remember if they offered that. My friend had the matcha and she loved it. They recently got a new matcha and she was worried because she loved the other one but was pleasantly surprised how smooth and delicious this one was as well. Today, I was in the area so stopped in. No matter where I go in San Antonio, to get a latte, light ice never means a partially empty cup. Usually, coffee place staff will ask if you want to fill the cup and give a heads up there's an up charge or just add more milk without issue. $10 for a latte is pricey to begin with and on top of it? 1/4 is empty. My takeaway is $10= 1/2 cup of ice and the rest latte. Coffee is good, but taking everything into consideration, not worth revisiting.

My sister and I stopped by Merit so I can try and rate the cortado for my silly little cortado review series. I also ordered the Purple Haze Latte and a poptart (courtesy of Bakery Lorraine). The cortado was surprisingly good. I say surprisingly because normally Merit's coffee is too fruity (and a bit funky) for me, but this was bold and right and made my ears tingle. Nice and creamy, and not watery. A very top notch standard cortado. The purple haze tasted like relaxing on the beach. It even had little bits of dried ube on top, like a little purple sandy beach. I'm pretty glad Merit's making me re-think their beans. That cortado is something I still think about, even though it's been about a month since my visit.

Yelp steered me right and brought me here on a Thursday morning. Walking in I wasn't sure if this was only a coffee/tea spot or if they sold cocktails and beers too. The bar area and decor lends itself to look like an old bar and it has great vibes! No beer or cocktails here but they do have a seemingly delicious menu! We didn't eat anything while we were here because we had breakfast prior to coming in. The menu had an array of offerings and sandwiches that I could see myself coming back and trying in the future. I ordered a Mexican Mocha and my mom had a cold brew. Service was fast and friendly. We found a nice spot close to the windows and I was able to look around at all the relics around and displayed at the front entrance. After we got our drinks, one of the owners or managers, walked around offering delicious slices of lemon frost cake. I was so appreciative that this just made our delicious coffee even better!
