I like the other location (cuz it's bigger and nicer), but this particular one is the closest to me. Artea is a pretty decent chain with a wide variety of loose-leaf teas, milk teas & lattes, frozen milk teas/drinks, and a huge selection of specialty drinks such as "cucumber lychee bliss", "strawberry lychee lime green tea," or "mango coconut paradise." They also have a big selection of toppings. I love how they have basil seeds and red bean (2 of my favs). I'm pretty picky about my milk teas, but Artea's has been consistent and not watered down like most. Their food menu, although is quite pricey on some items, are pretty tasty. We tried the $24 ribeye steak fried rice and was pretty happy with it. The bento boxes are a bargain. Parm garlic aioli fries were good. Tonkatsu ramen was with "udon" like noodles, which was different. Lots of finger foods/appetizers to enjoy with your boba. They have a small dessert selection (fried oreos & matcha ice cream). I would say it's one of the better boba joints in San Antonio. My only complaint is that they run out of items on a regular basis--happens more often than I would like--ex: wintermelon milk tea (which is hard to get nowadays, unless you go to KFT). read more

Discovered this boba spot near UTSA during the pandemic through Uber Eats, and it's been a favorite ever since. Even though I don't live in the area, I always stop by when I'm nearby. Wanted to give this one a try, but gonna be honest, I haven't had boba in another state that top off CA boba. Anyways, store is spacious with plenty of parking. After looking at the menu, we decided to get one of their specialties: mango seat salt cream cloud (FYI: they can't adjust anything), and one of their regulars: matcha red bean latte with 30% sweetness. MSSCC is more of a dessert than a drink. I like that they have mango bits but it's very icy. MRBL is ugh, disappointing. Even with 30% sweetness, the "latte" part tasted more of just water. Nowhere did it even taste like latte, let alone the milk. After 2 sips, we decided to toss it away. My son and I came here for lunch one day after running some errands. It was super busy, I think every single table was occupied, and there was a line almost to the door. I had to tell him what I wanted and then stalk people as they were leaving to grab a table. We were able to get a nice table outside, we got our drinks and ended up, deciding to just share an appetizer and a plate of food after we saw how big the portions were. We got some kind of popcorn chicken, and it was fantastic! Hot, crispy, juicy chicken, perfectly flavored. We also shared some noodles, and this also came out super hot and fresh, and the flavor profile was absolutely perfect! You had the nice chewiness of the noodles, the crisp vegetables, everything was perfect. I absolutely love when the salt is exact and you don't need to add anything at all. I'm glad we got the table outside because it was kind of loud inside. We went on a weekend, late afternoon so maybe try going earlier in the day, I don't know, but for us it was definitely worth the drive and I look forward to going again. We got their frozen Okinawa Kokuto Sugar Boba. This is frozen brown sugar Okinawa style. Very special. One and only now I have ever tasted. We also got some Gua Bao with pork belly. This dish comes in two. But is has good number pork belly slices. We also got their newly charshu bento. This bento has many things. I wish the sauce can be on the side. We got the popcorn chicken. The coating is not crunchy floppy type. The coating is more compact. I don't like that much. Overall is unique restaurant and drink place. Great for any generation. The food is still tasty, but the tea kinda went downhill in my opinion. They are using a different method of making it now and every time I've gotten it since , it is weak. Weak Weak Weak! I got the Taiwanese popcorn chicken, ($8) and the jasmine green tea ($3.75). I ordered through Uber Eats so the prices may be different. The order was ready before the estimated time, which is really nice! The Taiwanese popcorn chicken was very crispy and had a nice white pepper flavor. I got the mild spicy level (they also have original and hot) but I did not taste anything spicy so maybe they forgot to add it? Regardless, it was really good. They also packaged the chicken in a brown take out container, covered the outside with plastic wrap, and placed it in a plastic bag. I have never seen such detailed, sealed packaging! It is not leaking at all, that is for sure. The jasmine green tea had a light refreshing flavor. I got 30% sugar, which I thought was perfect. The drink still tastes mildly sweet. I think nearly 4 dollars for a small drink is a little expensive though. The drink is shorter than the length of my hand! The interior got a renovation, a few months ago, and there are more tables! (Pro tip - pour the pot sticker dipping sauce over the noodles.. yummm) the crème brûlée topping on the milk tea after you drink it all is like a dessert after the meal. (I've seen some people mix it all in together before they drink it though). My hubby gets something different every time, but always includes an order of the honey glazed chicken no matter what. It is quite a cute space though and the my have a diaper changing station!! Like omg, this is like gold for families. The service was pretty decent.
