This is probably my favorite SA bubble tea spot. I really enjoyed my cucumber lychee tea. That flavor combo is quite refreshing when it's hot. It's spacious and clean and drinks arrived quickly. The brown sugar Thai tea was okay, not our favorites and the boba was too chewy and hard. We will probably stick to fruit drinks sans boba in the future.

Love the De Zavala Artea. It's a really nice spot to study or hang out, and there are tons of outlets, which makes it easy to stay for a while. The vibe is chill and comfortable without being too loud. The drinks are solid, and the bear cup alternative is such a fun, unique twist that makes it stand out from other boba places. Service is fast with the little beepers. Definitely a go-to spot when I want to get work done and treat myself.

I got a red velvet milk tea and a side of pot stickers. They were both very yummy. The pot stickers were by far some of the best I've had. The milk tea was a bit much and I couldn't finish it all. Next time I will opt for the next size down. Overall a pleasant visit.

I took Dad to an annual exam in the Medical Center area. We decided to have dinner @drinkartea DeZavala tonight. I gave Dad the Wintermelon Lime Auyi Basil, which doesn't have caffeine. Hubby had the Old Time Taiwanese Fruit Tea, and I had the Strawberry Milk Tea. We shared the delicious Gua Bao, Honey Bacon Chicken Bento, Pineapple Shrimp Bento, and Taiwanese Rice Noodle. Everything was fantastic as usual. You should check it out if you haven't already. @drinkartea is one of the AAPI participating restaurants. If you have the AAPI Passport, you get 10% off. There's also another location in Culebra Commons.

Made my purchase to go, oh my this is a lot but so good!! My daughter ordered the garlic tonkotsu ramen and she enjoyed it however she did advise for next time she may request to not add the pork. She wasn't a fan of the pork. I also ordered the Crème Brûlée Latte with oolong and almond milk OMG DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED Service is always great here as well.

I'm not much of a tea person, but when I saw they have Asian food, I was intrigued. I took my teenager for lunch a couple days ago. He got a California roll and I got the honey bacon bento box which came with the chicken, fried rice, pickled cucumber slices, and I chose an egg roll between that and a rangoon. The rice was great. The egg roll was very good. The chicken, surprisingly, was not very flavorful. It looked yummy, but I didn't get much flavor from neither honey nor bacon. We got teas also, but since I'm not a regular drinker, my opinion is muted...I thought they were ok. My order taker was kind and polite, but the gal "delivering" the food didn't smile. Also, I sat in the bench seat which was hard and uncomfortable and in need of some minor repair. The ambiance is modern and bright.

My go to place for teriyaki chicken! Former coffee shop and specialty tea shop barista here! I've dined in and ordered out with Artea a number of times and have never had a bad experience. The store is always packed yet clean, the boba is consistently at a good consistency and never over sweetened, the tea flavors range from classic to fun and unique but are all executed so well, and the food is downright addicting. I cannot recommend this business enough, but be careful! Once you've had their Teriyaki Chicken Don there's no going back!

Winter Melon Lime Aiyu with Basil Seed, way too sweet.
    Shayla P.

Ordered the Wintermelon Lime Aiyu Basil, this drink is sickeningly sweet. The bobarista said the sugar or ice can't be adjusted without offering an explanation, and was also unwilling to replace the drink for a different one. She had a slight attitude. I would not recommend this drink, diabetes in a cup. Came here to do work as well, and the tables are not clean.

Definitely one of my favorite boba spots in San Antonio! The drinks are always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly made. Their food is just as impressive. Their Taiwanese dishes and Asian fusion plates are consistently tasty and satisfying. The atmosphere is casual and inviting, making it a great place to relax and hang out with friends.

I'm backkkkkk. This time the wifi did work! I went two days in a row and ordered food. First day: got the teriyaki chicken bowl with fried rice and the popcorn chicken. Both were kinda mid and made me question if I liked this place. Popcorn chicken looks like a lot but it's a lot of batter pieces with no chicken. Teriyaki was okay just a bit too saucy and too much compared to the ratio of fried rice. Boba is solid as always Day 2: ordered wayyyy better. Phoenix wings were phenomenal, flavors on point and the green onion in the crab rangoon was lovely. The soft boil egged was cooked to perfection and the sauce on the wings is so good I could i eat it plain with the rice. Carrot salad was odd at first but grew on me. Poke nachos were chefs kiss. Kinda messy to eat while studying BUT huge pieces of fish with the best crunch and surprising spice. 10/10 on this order

Artea will ALWAYS be my go-to boba spot; I just wish they had more than 2 locations They serve Taiwanese popcorn chicken and it's ACTAULLY good with differing spice levels The boba pearls are always so soft and fresh when I order my drink It's hard to find a boba shop that serves freshly made pearls My go-to meal: poke nachos , Taiwanese popcorn chicken bento box , and pudding boba milk tea They also have an app that you can download to earn rewards points and order ahead of time I love their food so much that I've joked and was semi serious when telling my husband that I should submit an application to work at one of their locations just so I can have the food more often Thank you, Artea, for always filling my stomach and giving a warm hug to my heart with the amazing food and drinks you guys serve!

    Darlene R.

Wow! I never would have guessed that Artea sold food! But boy do they! And it's great. Such a variety of dishes and stand out flavors. I would now consider them to be one of the best choices for Asian food. You order from the counter and they give you a buzzer for when your food is ready. Service is quick and friendly. The space is clean and comfortable. They had a 100 rating on the health department score . I had the bacon fried rice which was a bit bland at first but came alive with just a spot of soy sauce. Friends had the teriyaki chicken which was delish, potstickers , edamame and sushi which was all excellent! Now that I know that Artea is a full service restaurant and not just a boba tea spot, I'll be back for sure.

I've been wanting to check out this spot for a while now. I came here with a colleague on a weekday for lunch. Here you have self service. We ordered pineapple shrimp, Taiwanese popcorn chicken and takoyaki. All the dishes were flavorful and yummy. Before I was about to leave I ordered the creme brulee boba tea and boy it was so good! Also it packed a ton of sugar. I definitely recommend this place!

Do the pot stickers have meat in them?

Hi Rebecca, yes it does. The fillings are chicken and vegetables.

What are your low calorie or sugar free options please?

Hi Theresa, most of our drinks in Loose Leaf, Milk Tea or Latte can be made with 0 sugar for those guest who prefer to use own sweetener. Hope it helps :)

What are your dairy free, milk tea options? When I first went I was disappointed to see that there wasn't an option, but it sounds like that may have changed.

Hi Michelle, great question! We use non-dairy in our milk tea series, almond milk are also available in our latte series. Feel free to call us at 210 462 1388, we love to navigate the menu with you!

Do they serve brown sugar boba? Or just the usual bobas?

Hi Vicki! We do serve Okinawa Kokuto Brown Sugar Boba Latte, with boba bathed in special kokuto sugar bath :)

Alas, was really craving some 蔥油餅, and this was the only place that offered delivery with them! I am sad to report that @ the very premium price of $5 for a single pancake, it would have been a far more worthwhile choice to take an Uber to the Asian grocery store to buy an entire package of 8 to 10 frozen ones for practically the same price! Same goes for pretty much everything else. Buying the frozen versions would have been not only me expensive, but the tasteful pleasure would have been on par if not better. Bibigo, I Mei, Wei Chan are a few recommended frozen food companies that would serve you better! Taste profile for all items were mediocre at best. $6 Takoyoki Balls were probably the best, but even then, I have had far better for less dinero. The supposedly main course sized Donburi Gyudon was nowhere with the price, but it was at least pretty good. The 75 percent rice was good but obviously more meat would have been nice for $12. Not to be boringly dissimilar in my assessment, but the soups also are not recommended when they are so pricey. TLDR, eat here expecting average but overpriced food. When you consider value, this place is highly recommended- to avoid!

First impressions of this place were the people. Very friendly, very welcoming. After we ordered and made our way to the table, we were a little bit, disappointed about the restaurant being a little bit dirty, but as we got our drinks, one of the employees mentioned that a child had been in that area and had made a mess and he very readily and quickly did a quick cleanup, which was very nice to see. The staff here is amazingly friendly, and the food was on point! We had the fried potstickers and my chicken pad. Thai was delicious! Ordered the chow fun with beef: I grew up eating chow fun in the Hawaiian islands, it's an okazuya staple and similar to the ice cream trucks of your childhood, every neighborhood I lived in had a "manapua man". This dude, usually an old Asian man, drove his beat up van around town making numerous stops at the sight of screaming barefoot children. I was one of them. Chow fun and chow mein noodles were always on the menu, along with candy and oh! cigarettes- if you knew the secret code word. Lol! But I digress. The noodles from this establishment did not meet the nostalgic delight of my street noodles. Nope. Not very flavorful, it's like they only used salt and soy sauce to flavor this dish. The large, flat rice noodles stuck together and was difficult to eat. The beef was tender but I just couldn't eat the dish. I ended up taking 4 forced bites then threw it away. Ordered the won ton soup, too. The soup did not come hot, not like the broth that comes with take out pho from those joints. But the won ton were HUGE! See photo. Sadly, these were also not delicious at all. I did enjoy the broth so I slurped that up and threw out the 2 won tons. AND I ate up all the fried won ton strips that came as a side condiment. The edamame I also ordered was canceled by the business as they probably could not fill the order. No bueno. Also would've been nice to have chopsticks and hot sauce with my order. But oh well. Overall, I was not impressed and with so, so much competition out there, I will probably never step foot in or order take out from this business again.
