A little expensive, but it's the Subway of boba tea in the area. I love the ginger milk tea with custard and boba. The milk cap is just okay, like a salty savory cloud on top of your drink. The sesame matcha flavor was also pretty great. Their oreo WOW boba special was just okay. They let you order your level of sweetness and also your amount of ice, which I love. This bubble tea shop is actually quite good! I would say I still prefer Tsaocaa more, but it could be due to the fact I got a yogurt drink from there and a tea based drink for here. Kung Fu is a chain, but their bubble tea is still pretty high quality and pricing is decent. I tried the Oreo WOW (medium size, regular sweetness 100%, no ice). First of all, I love how you can customize numerous aspects of your drink. Lots of places charge you extra for wanting a drink without ice (due to them needing to put in more of the drink itself to compensate the lost volume) but is is free here. Sweetness level customization also seems to be pretty accurate. I really enjoyed my Oreo Wow drink. There were little pieces of Oreo in the drink, which was well appreciated. The drink itself was not too sweet, and had a great amount of milk. The bubbles were chewy, but I would have liked them to be a bit sweeter. Overall size is good, both for the bubbles and for the drink itself. All in all, Kung Fu Tea definitely has a great menu for bubble tea/boba. They have fruity flavors, milky flavors, exotic flavors, yogurt blends, and everything in between. They even have snacks, like popcorn, although I've heard it is not very good. Kung Fu Tea is a good addition to Pittsburgh's bubble tea scene! They have a decent variety, but it's not as customizable as some other places. Absolutely unprofessional staff. 05/30 walked in around 9:30pm. As soon as we walked in, one of the staffs (the young guy with glasses) made a derogatory comment on us in chinese, which I heard and could understand. It is as bad as calling the N-word. I confronted the staff afterwards and told him I heard and understood everything. He was clearly embarrassed yet claimed it was a "joke". Not expecting this to happen in squirrel hill. Hello fellow Yelpers! This is what we expect from a Kung fu tea! They are nice though with some staff there is a little bit of a language barrier. Like some mentioned the cleanliness could be improved (like the bathroom was a little gross at least for the guys side) hence why we dock down the one star, but the staff is really nice and the teas come out timely and tasty. Some of their teas can be a bit bitter. We got the winter melon green tea, grapefruit green tea, hot Kung fu green tea, and hot Thai tea. Some with boba some with not, all 50% sugar. The sugar levels were all great except the Thai tea which was still way too sweet at 50%. We stayed there for a while playing with the board games they had there and it was fun! There was a weird customer there, but they are so nice they didn't try to shoo them away and they kept them calm to the credit of the staff. They were patient and let people just hang. They set up the room such that there's plenty of space to social distance while waiting to order. My drink came out within minutes after ordering. Kung Fu Tea, I had high hopes, but I ended up being a bit disappointed. This location is right on Murray Ave., so you gotta deal with street parking, but it's not usually a big deal. Walked in and there were a few other patrons, which I look for hoping the boba will be fresh. The shop seemed clean enough to me. Not sure if the people working the counter were the owners of this franchise, but the were friendly and attentive. The menu is quite extensive and it took me a few minutes to look it over, but I stayed true to my quest to find the best bubble tea in Pittsburgh and picked the classic Kung Fu Milk Tea, 30% sweetness, regular ice. They quickly served up my drink and I was on my way. First sip, and it seemed a bit bitter as another reviewer noted. The boba is where they really lost me, on the smaller size and on the verge of being hard. On the way to getting sticky, too. The boba were a bit small in size compared to other shops. Quantity was just OK. I love hard, clear ice in my drinks, and this was a source of a disappointment, too. I ordered regular ice, but the amount seemed low. The cubes were sorta small and not especially hard. The sticker on my cup confirmed it, "less ice." Bummer. So, this drink wasn't exactly my cup of bubble tea, but I may return for one of their lemonades or slushes and modify my rating. read more

So excited that Kung Fu Tea made its way to the burgh. We got the kung fu milk tea and the jasmine green tea milk tea with boba which we asked for less sugar. To my surprise, the kung fu milk tea was extremely sweet that we only took a few sips and had to throw out the large cup. The Jasmine Green Milk Tea was decent but I did not like the boba as it tasted like honey which made the drink even sweeter. Overall we didn't like the drinks but it's worth trying the other options. If you don't like super sugary drinks, make sure that you request your sugar level. read more

I have tried the Kung Fu milk tea - which was tasty and sweet enough for me even though I ordered the tea without any sugar added. I think they soak the boba in something sweet, so be warned if you tend to like less sugary drinks. I returned later and shared a coconut milk tea with no sweetener, and with boba. The coconut tea was excellent, and also seemed sweet even without any added sugar. Overall everything was refreshing and hit all the notes I have grown to love about bubble tea. When I go to bubble tea places, I usually get some sort of sweetened black tea with bubbles. Visiting Kung Fu Tea, I was blown away by their menu! So many different types of drinks and toppings. I decided to be brave and try something new. I settled in the pineapple sunshine tea. This drink had a milk topping...something I had never tried before. I was a little worried at first because it looked like whipped cream, which I avoid because the sweetness is overwhelming. However, the milk topping has only a hint of sweetness which balanced well with the pineapple. There were chunks of pineapple instead of bubbles...very refreshing! I can't wait to go back and try another new thing! My only complaint is that I had quite a long wait time....not Kung Fu Tea's fault. Kung Fu tea is good, and it is very nice that they deliver. I stopped by twice over the weekend and got the taro slush with milk cap and boba (at 50% sweetness) and the orange yogurt tea (at 30% sweetness). Both were quite tasty and very good (though in my opinion, not quite as good as tsaocaa). I did have to wait a bit longer than I thought I would have to mainly because there were a lot of delivery orders, even though the store front was empty. My other issue was that the printed menu in the window was different than the displayed menu on the screens and neither were fully accurate (prices were different, screens has seasonal items labeled available October-March, expired promotions, etc). read more

I had been curious about the new bubble tea trends and finally tested them out. I ordered three teas with my 9 and 7 year old. I got the matcha with milk foam and added tapioca at 30% sweetness, no ice. This was delicious! Not too sweet and the milk foam was unique and tasty. My 9 year old got the cocoa Wow and added pudding at regular sweetness. He liked it but was not a fan of the salty milk foam top. He still finished it. My 7 year old got the orange yogurt drink with tapioca and mango popping bubbles, 50% sweetness. She said she would prefer it without the popping bubbles next time but still finished it.
