Solid matcha spot! Walked over here while waiting for our table to be ready at a nearby restaurant. I ordered an iced matcha with banana bread cold foam and my friend got an iced strawberry matcha. Inside the store was cute and they had several other options that looked good too! I wasn't a huge fan of the banana cold foam on mine, but the matcha itself was good. The strawberry matcha was great though - I would get that again for sure.
This is the cutest matcha tea house with some of the best matcha options. There are so many flavors and toppings to choose from, allowing you to customize your bev. But they don't just sell beverages, you can also find matcha bowl sets, soaps and other home decor. It's a small place but there are a few tables indoors and outdoors for you to enjoy your drink. Service is fine.
I found this place a while ago when searching for a place to buy matcha powder in pgh. I love coming here because they have a few different types of matcha powders for sale, and you can order a drink with whichever type to try it out before you buy a whole jar of it. The staff is helpful if you're lost on what to get. They have some yummy matcha desserts too like ice cream and baked goods. The shop is very cute inside with limited seating, but it's always pretty chill and quiet, so it'd be a nice place to get some work done if that's your thing.
I looove Mikkusu! I have never worked from here before but it's a great vibe. Really good music and strong wifi. I tried the matcha nitrogen latte and loved it. It comes with an included syrup - the lavender was excellent. I also love that the price is the price - it says this drink is $7 for a medium and that's the final price! They don't even prompt you for a tip on the POS machine.
I was looking for something a little different today and boy did this hit the spot! First, I went to yelp to search for good matcha in Pittsburgh and honestly didn't realize there was a whole cafe dedicated to matcha... the options were endless. I headed right over as soon as I found this place. I tried the iced pumpkin pie matcha latte with a whipped topping and tasted just like the real thing but with a nice matcha twist. I love taking in all Pumpkin things this time of year, but don't always want something with coffee. The drink was perfectly spiced and had the right amount of sweetness to it. While I got the drink to go, I definitely would return for an in person drink. The cafe was cozy and had a nice amount of seating. I loved the green decor throughout as well! I can't wait to come back and try more!
Was looking for a drink for my drive home so I popped in here! I love matcha and trying different ones from different places! This one did not disappoint! The man making the drinks was super friendly and extremely insightful! He helped us pick out flavors and everything with some recommendations and they did not disappoint! We got a strawberry puree matcha the strawberry flavor was very subtle but the perfect for a lightly sweetened flavor And I got a lavender iced matcha (my favorite!) It was the perfect ratio of everything!
Stopped in here for the lawrenceville cookie tour! Me and my friend both got the strawberry matcha latte. Super good drink and I like how it actually has strawberry and not just the syrup. Store is really cute with matcha and accessories that you can buy. Lots of different drink options and nice staff!
Stopped by for their soft serve, and while it had a well balanced matcha flavor, it was a bit icy and not a smooth as I had hoped. Their match lattes were whisked well though. They have a very inviting environment and a great place to catch up with friends or get some work done. Service was very friendly.
A place mostly dedicated to matcha?! Sign me up. I've always walk by this place but finally got around to getting something from it and it was the best surprise. Good prices, great people and service and it's a chill place to hang out.
Another fantastic visit to Mikkusu! Wanted to bring my friends who love matcha to try it out for the first time and they loved it! We tried the matcha spritzer, mango matcha latte, strawberry matcha latte, and a vanilla matcha latte. Everyone loved their drink and they had such different, fresh flavors. Definitely need to try their ice cream next time!
DRINKS Maple Matcha Latte - this is one of the seasonal fall drinks with sweetened with syrup. I got mine hot. There's some cinnamon on top that gives a nice fall vibe to the drink. Even though the matcha is hot, it's not burnt which I find many other places struggle with - not this one. Matcha is whisked well and no clumps. Summit Matcha Latte with Oat Milk - I got this with no sweetener, and it's also a very solid drink! Matcha is also well mixed and great quality drink! VIBES Vibes are great! They have nice soft music as well as some bench seating and high table seating. There are some outlets in the places, pretty clean. Very cute interior with plants and very green feel to it. SERVICE Service is great! I asked for recommendations and the person helped me choose a really yummy drink based on my preference of creamy and sweeter drinks. Drinks came out pretty fast too! They use compostable cups and materials and are very green. Lots of alternative milks like soy and almond.
I love matcha! So I was very excited to hear about the next time I was in Lawrenceville. I made sure to stop in. I originally was just going to get an iced matcha latte but the gentleman behind the counter said to try the Strawberry Matcha instead. I do love strawberry so I was excited. The drink that I received didn't taste or look like the "homemade strawberry syrup " as advertised. I inquired again to the gentleman who made my drink thinking he forgot it and when I asked he said just yes and put his earbuds back in. So I just left. You can clearly see there's absolutely no strawberry in there and I do love regular matcha what I was going to get anyway but still. But I was taken aback that he didn't own up to making me the wrong drink or offered to fix it. It is a cute space
Four of us stopped by yesterday at noon for some treats. The inside is absolutely adorable. There's not a lot of chairs and tables but no one was there so you might be me to work from home there. There was large variety of different types of matcha. They also had a handful of baked goods for sale. Our ice cream and drinks came out pretty quickly and were delicious. I will note, tipping wasn't an option on the screen when I paid.
Wow, one of the best pgh spots for matcha and it's not even close! The place is very cute, selling local art and all the matcha tools you could need, but their matcha itself is really high quality and delicious. I also love that they always have different flavor specials, like the strawberry shortcake matcha! Overall it's definitely expensive ($7 for a small) but you get very good quality for it! read more
I have been becoming a bit matcha obsessed and when I happened upon this place I was very excited to stop in. The outside is colorful, bold and inviting and the inside is much the same. Lots of space and many people working on laptops. The people here are really nice and the menu has all the basics you'd expect but also some creative specials. I got the sakura strawberry shortcake iced matcha, which had a delicious cloud of cherry blossom pink cold foam and real crushed strawberries at the bottom. The matcha itself was clearly high-quality and delicious. Prices also reasonable compared to some places; I paid under $8 for this while it's a dollar or so more elsewhere for a less complex iced matcha latte. I can't wait to come back and next time will be trying the Matcha soft serve ice cream!! read more

This was like the only matcha tea shop in Pittsburgh, and if you know me, you know I love finding new matcha spots, so when I was in Pittsburgh I had to try out this place. Unfortunately, both of the drinks I tried were not good - the tastes were really weird (more notes down below). Here's what I tried: Iced Honey Rose Latte: * Rose matcha with almond milk & honey rose syrup * Seems like it had some shredded rose bits * A unique matcha taste, but I didn't really like it Iced Matcha Latte: * You get a choice of milk & sweetener, we chose whole milk & honey * This drink tasted like a vegetable, not exactly sure which exactly but did not have a typical matcha taste and I didn't like it Additional Notes: * Really cute interior, everything is a green and beige naturey aesthetic * Would make a nice, quiet place to study (the seats are really limited, but I don't think it's too busy of a place) read more

It's hard to find good matcha ice cream that actually tastes like matcha. They do it very well here and truly does taste authentic (and strong!). Great cute little store with local goodies and other delicious sweet treats and drinks like matcha lattes and cookies. Staff was super friendly as well. read more
I had some of the best matcha at Mikkusu. This place is for true matcha lovers. I think I got the Lemongrass lavendar matcha with strawberry syrup and the Charge Vanilla Dolce. If you like your matcha drinks sweet you have to ask the drinks don't come sweet here traditionally. I would like if the flavored matcha drinks were more balanced. The service was accommodating and the ambiance is relaxing and cutesy! Can't wait to go back! read more
tldr decent matcha latte at one of the only specialized matcha shop in Pittsburgh with a cute interior! ordered a matcha latte and noticed lots of interesting matcha options with unique flavor combos including a matcha kombucha matcha latte had decent flavor - while not bitter - it didn't have a strong tasty pronounced grassy matcha flavor like i'm used to from my usual matcha spot in sf! i did appreciate that this was a no tip establishment - building in the cost to pay employees +upkeep. interior was nice and there was plenty of seating! drink 3/5 for sf, 4/5 for pitt service 4/5 ambiance 4/5 value 4/5 read more
Cute cafe in Lawrenceville, has lots of tables and natural lighting making it a great place to study and do work. Street parking is also easy to find. Service is great. The first time I went, I thought the matcha was a bit bland. However, another friend recommended me to get it with the vanilla flavor and I enjoyed the drink a lot more. Can't say it's the best matcha ever but it's pretty good. I'd come back anyways just for the nice study environment. read more

Stumbled upon this shop because seeing the word matcha caught my attention and it seemed very cute inside! They have matcha in many forms here. Soft serve, smoothies, tea, etc. I got a regular hot matcha latte with almond milk. I sometimes find matcha lattes challenging because sometimes it just tastes like the milk it's paired with. I didn't find that to be the case here. The flavor of matcha shone through, it was smooth and not bitter at all. They clearly have very good quality matcha, I really enjoyed it. Cute decor inside too. read more
It's the cookie tour weekend and I tried their recovery matcha latte (with almond milk) and the matcha cookie. Best matcha latte ever, highly recommend! And the matcha cookie was amazing, it has the candy cane sprinkles on top, so adorable - i wish they do it as a regular item on the pastry menu! read more
Really cute matcha spot right in Lawrenceville! They have a lot of great matcha treats and drinks available. Love that you can get a matcha latte float with soft serve. Their rose matcha latte was pretty good. The matcha latte float was decent! I thought the soft serve was kind of a wee bit watery but it could be because I let it sit in the latte for a little bit. They have really cute seating inside and I think it'd be a great place to chill and do some work. They also have a lot of matcha and related stuff for sale like matcha making whisks and bowls. Definitely worth checking out if you love matcha!! They do close a wee bit early at 4pm but it's probably standard for cafes. read more

I've stopped in a few times to pick up matcha and sit to enjoy the drinks, cookies, and soft serve. The matcha is high quality and the drinks are delicious. I highly recommend the spot if you're into matcha! They have a great selection of options. If you're looking to sit and enjoy, it's a tranquil vibe. A great vibe to catch up with friends, study, or sit by the window and people watch. read more
I'm so excited that there's a match soft serve in town! If you love matcha, this is the place to go! This is also a cute lil place to study or do work. I love the fact that there's little domo kun placed everywhere in the shop. read more
Pure, signature, seasonal, cookie, soft serve matcha, oh my! A friend and I got the matcha twist soft serve (dairy-free) and it was delicious! The staff who waited on us was awesome. A minimalist style design, there is plenty of space to order all things matcha at the counter and also shop for matcha and other curated specialty food items before either sitting down to enjoy at one of the handful of tables or take it with you on the go. If you are a fan of matcha, this is a must visit! read more
Mosaic Leaf is Pittsburgh's first matcha tea bar!! It's located on Butler Street in Lawrenceville. I never knew there were different blends of matcha. They even had seasonal drinks. I went with an iced 'Harvest Matcha Latte' with oat milk. It was so rich and smooth and delicious. They're also a participating location in Lawrenceville's Cookie Tour, which ends on Dec 28, 2020, so definitely stop by, make a purchase and get your reward card stamped! read more
Stopped in here to pick up some dessert for company and got some white chocolate chip matcha cookies. They were equal parts delicious (chewy, soft, not overly sweet) and beautiful (the green and white was ). I arranged them on a pretty plate just for a Yelp picture/review because that's what they deserved! read more
This place is super cute if you like matcha! I love the idea of adding different ingredients to your matcha to make it even more nutritious! I tried their matcha latte with ascend matcha, and it was pretty tasty. It wasn't as strong as I would like it though. My friend tried their nondairy ice cream and liked it. I love their decor and their many plants around the store. The staff was super friendly and walked us through their menu patiently. I will definitely be back to try more! read more

Very nice cafe that serves all things matcha! Lots of creative matcha blends and drinks that suit matcha lovers or new matcha drinkers. The cafe is very clean and has lots of natural lighting. There are lots of outlets and free wifi! It is on the smaller side though, but I have not had trouble finding a table so far. The drinks are definitely on the pricey side, at least $5+, but the quality of the products are incredible. Lots of different sweetener and non-dairy options. A delicious treat! My favorite item is the matcha and vanilla non dairy swirl soft serve ice cream! Try it out! tldr; food 5/5 service 5/5 interior 4/5 read more
So, I just got back to Pittsburgh after a week in San Francisco. The highlight of my trip there was the Japan Town & the Matcha shop that served soft serve matcha ice cream. I was very sad thinking I'd never get to enjoy matcha soft serve for a really long time. I even considered buying my own ice cream machine to make it myself .. so needless to say, thank goodness I found this place. The soft serve is light creamy and wonderful.. it's non dairy which is a bonus too! I got it twisted with vanilla. I also ordered an energy matcha it is mixed with some other teas for an extra kick. I also purchased my own matcha to take home with me. Matcha is so good for you! It has healing properties, it's great for your skin! I love the focused non jittering energy it gives me. So it's worth it to me to find a quality product. A quality matcha should be bright green and have a smooth taste. They definitely deliver here. The summit matcha they offer is ceremonial grade. The leaves are imported from Japan and the are ground in the store. Doesn't get much fresher! Look at the photo you can see the differ between the organic one I bought at Giant eagle $20 and the Summit one from here $35. I thought the price was super reasonable for how high quality it is. read more
