I've been meaning to come here for quite some time, but kept forgetting. I would remember when I'd go to Arby's in the evening, but the timing was wrong. Arby's has closed and it's now Two Guns. I went to Two Guns one morning and I saw Krust Bakery, so I came here afterwards. Timing was right! This bakery is tucked away in the corner and could be easily missed. There's free parking in the lot, but it is quite limited out front. You could also try to find a spot on the street. The display and sales area of the cafe is small. However, there is seating in the large room through a doorway. It is a nice and inviting space to relax in. They also have a couple of tables outside. Wi-Fi is free and the information to access it is posted. TIP: They are closed on Sunday & Monday. The selection of breads & pastries is a bit limited. This is a much smaller operation than Sweet Wheat down the street. There are a lot of items on their menu that isn't visible in the display, you need to refer to the menu. They do offer a variety of drinks (coffee & tea). As for the pastries, they have Croissants, Scones, Empanadas, Muffins, Cakes, Breads, Cruffin, Doughnuts, Strudel, Tarts, & Croffle. For something more substantial, they have Avo Toast, Quiche, Soup, Sandwiches, Burritos, & probably more that I've missed. I decided to try the Apple Strudel. The lady asked if I wanted it warmed up and I said, "Yes, please"! To my surprise, it was also cut into three pieces. Made it easier to eat! It was very good! The apple pieces were plentiful! I'm glad I finally made it here! Wonder what I'll get next time!?!?
Cute family run bakery and cafe. I ordered a chocolate croissant and egg and ham breakfast sandwich. Both tasted really good, service was quick and friendly. They have a side room with lots of comfortable seating and a great place if you want to work remote. Wifi is fast. There is a lot of parking in the plaza. Overall, highly recommend and would come back again.
The good: My husband and I really love pastries and baked goods so we've been trying to hit up all of the local bakeries lately. I tried 3-4 pastries from here that were decent (custard donut, cookie, and almond croissant). I tried the galbi baguette as well and liked how unique of an item this was. I liked the feel of the small shop. I believe this was a Japanese bakery. The bad: I didn't realize they had a separate seating area that was in a different section. I just sat in the outdoor space where there was a single table for 2-3 people. It was lopsided. The pastries were very expensive. I also tried a lavender latte but thought it was subpar to the same flavored latte from their coffee competitor across the street (I ordered the same drink back to back at both places). The galbi baguette was just ok. The flavoring of the meat wasn't my favorite and the bread was also not the most complimentary. The interesting: It seems like their quiche is a top seller.

I love coffee and croissants and this 2023; I may have just found may new fave spot to go to! Krust Bakery and Coffee is a cute little coffee spot in Redondo Beach that I just recently discovered and visited. I came on a rainy Wednesday morning but despite it being midweek and raining; folks were continuously coming in (an indication that this a indeed a good and popular place). It was my first visit and I know it won't be my last. I got a Chicken Turnover ($5.50) and a Strawberry and Cream Croissant ($6.50). Their food items are slightly pricey but they do bake everything in-house, except for croissants. I took my pastries to the back where they have nice and quiet area with comfy couches, chairs and tables for folks to enjoy their coffee and pastries. I really liked their seating area. It's so cute and quaint and definitely a good place for hanging out and just relaxing. I tried the Chicken Turnover first. They had heated it up for me and so it was nice and warm. I though the chicken filling was flavorful but it was slightly salty. It was tasty though. The Strawberry and Cream Croissant was my favorite. It was a pretty large croissant with lots of cream and strawberries. The croissant was flaky and buttery and I loved the sweet flavoring that the cream and strawberries added. This is a definite must try. I really enjoyed my visit here and I must admit I was already eyeing some of their other fresh baked pastries for a future visit. From their breakfast pies to their croissant waffles; I definitely am making a list of things I want to try!

I was exploring coffee work spaces and this popped up on Yelp. AMBIANCE Parking: Street parking (2 hrs) but they also have a shared small plaza parking. Seating: Inside seating and outside. Good for small groups and setups are pretty eclectic. Feels: It's not directly across but it's a hop skip, and jump away from the beach but you can see the ocean. It's on a busy street but snugged in a business plaza. The spot itself has an interesting setup. One is strictly the bakery and the other room is the lounge. Great spot to study and hang out with people. It's a pretty intimate and clean spot. I enjoyed the bossanova renditions, pictures of plants, and the plants itself. FOOD: Cold Brew (Recommend) If you need energy, this is for you. Took it straight pretty bitter and strong. Drank it at 10am and it kept me up till 4am... but then again I'm pretty sensitive to caffeine. Walnut chocolate chip cookie (Recommend) Delicious. Made fresh. Good portions of walnut and chocolate chips to mix in the sweet and savoriness to it. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Great! Friendly people, they told me they've been here for 8 years and they've done quite a good job building community and rapport. TL; DR OVERALL: 4 Stars. Awesome! Good vibes all around. Close to the beach, not much issues with parking. An enjoyable drink and pleasant cookie to munch on. I can see myself coming back here when I'm in the South Bay area. Stay classy, Krust! Tips: * Solid study place with wifi. Come early as this is no hidden gem to locals.
My fiancé and I were in the area looking for a late breakfast. The cafe is located in a small shopping center with orangish buildings. We arrived less than an hour before they closed so of course the display wasn't as grand as I'm sure it was when they first opened. I opted for the spinach feta quiche, they also had quiche Lorraine (bacon topped) available. They warmed my quiche up for me. My fiancé had the galbi sandwich which was pretty good. We tried the yuzu sparkle which was very refreshing. Think orange/kumquat flavor in sparkling water. Also shared an egg tart which was very tasty! The interior was very comfortable and I would imagine many people come and stay for a while on the comfy couches. Great little spot for friends to enjoy some yummy snacks and company.
This place is a little hidden gem. The ambience is so sweet & relaxing when you walk in, the first thing you see are all of the beautiful looking pastries. I got the cinnamon knotted roll and coffee cafe. Both were amazing, definitely hit the spot for my sweet tooth craving. I also got a dirty oat milk chia and really enjoyed it! Now a days chia is mixed in with a bunch of sugar but not here! They're traditional tea bag chia was perfect and the oat milk gave it a hint of sweetness. Will be coming back!
Nothing like picking up your pie and enjoying a little Thanksgiving brunch at the same time! I pre-ordered their kabocha pumpkin pie ($40) for my family gathering this past holiday and it was such a hit! Tbh, I was a little underwhelmed at first glance since it was a more pricey pie, I expected more in terms of presentation but the kabocha filling was delicious. I think they over baked the crust just a little bit though. My husband and I ate a light brunch at the cafe as well. They have outdoor seating and a cute little indoor area where you can sit as well. I got their special vanilla latte and then realized I wasn't a coffee person but it did give me that nice and very much needed caffeine kick. The galbi baguette was tasty! And we also enjoyed their Brie, apple crostini. We also Indulged and tried their brownie which was rich, decadent and nicely done!
Was a good quick little breakfast - in a strip mall- my quiche was good - but heated in a microwave and not quite warmed up right- Pastries selection was adequate- coffee a tad bitter- Probably wouldn't go out of my way to return
Not much of a selection of pastries in the late afternoon, but I had a blueberry muffin and small latte. I enjoyed the taste and design of my latte and the large quantity of blueberries in my muffin. You order your food and beverages through one door and the indoor dining area is physically located next door. They deliver your drink to your table. The indoor dining area is nice, but I opted to dine outdoors at one of their three tables. It was pleasant; I could feel the cool ocean breeze blowing. Next time, I want to try breakfast because they look like they have a large selection of quiches on the menu. Parking: Free, shared strip mall downstairs & there is also a lot located upstairs.
A small bakery that serves some hip breakfast menu and quality baked goods. Since it was a weekday, it was not that crowded. Inside was rather warm so we decided to stay outside to feel the ocean breeze. The spinach quiche was melting and the flaky crust was yummy! The donut was airy but the filling portion was a bit conservative. It's nice to come here to hang out with a small group or take out your favorites. You probably wouldn't find this place just from the signs. It's located in a small strip mall and their sign above the store is hard to see. I totally missed the place when trying to park! It's not hard to park actually, just make sure to slow down enough to turn right into the parking lot. I was excited so tried to find out more about what they offer but I did feel the language barrier. At the end of the day, you can see almost everything in the glass showcase so it was not a problem at all. I'd come back to try some other things when I come close to the area! read more

What a wonderful way to start a weekend coming here! I love that there's outdoor and indoor seating. The indoor seating is a separate room from where you order (next door). Ordered a cinnamon honey scone and latte. Both were delicious! Especially if you ask for the scone to be warmed. Also ordered the hot turkey croissant. The croissant was toasted and flaky (perfection) and the ingredients tasted fresh. Enjoyed spending my Saturday morning at this cute little cafe. read more

I live in Palos Verdes and we have limited options. I recommend this mom and pop take out breakfast spot. We ordered avocado toast, quiche and the custard donut. They are located off PCH. Bad location you can't see them from the street. It took us awhile to find it. We are always looking forward yUmmy breakfasts spots. This one has made it to our rotation. Parking is easy. read more

Unless u know about this place you'll likely drive past and not notice it. Hidden in corner is a local bakery w a tight selection of freshly baked goods. We had the rhubarb pie tart: Just sweet enough, about 5 inch diameter, tasty filling. Cream donut: filled to order, light creamy, dusted w powdered sugar. Yum. Spinach quiche: decent amount of spinach tho a bit dry, egg "custard" could have been creamier, less textured, but overall satisfying, small-med piece pricy at $9.50/slice. Let me tell you, I can't stop thinking about this place. I'm so surprised I didn't write a review immediately, because I liked it so much. It's a tiny, hole-in-the-wall cafe, but it's so cute and comfy inside. The baked goods all looked so scrumptious and you could tell they press legit coffee. I ordered the Menemen and it was like a warm hug with every bite. I was coming out of a cold and this tomato stew with egg was a blessing from above. The baguette was perfectly crispy and I wanted more of it. I will say, it's a very small portion and I could not wait to finish it. After my meal, I also ordered an almond croissant and a cute, string wrapped package of cookies for my friend. She loved them! The walls have cute murals and a nice bench with pillows. I think it's an instagrammer's dream. Prfect little coffee shop that's secluded but has nice aesthetic. I want to come back to try the Baguette that comes with brie and honey. Love the no frills menu...consisting of 4-5 items. Also daily there are lots of fresh pastries. Drip coffee was not great, per husband. Everything else we had was stellar. The baguette paired with honey, butter, jam and brie was very European and perfect. We had a croissant sandwich that had cheese, arugula, fig jam and prosciutto... The waffle was not crispy but delicious all the same, served with fruit, marscapone, syrup and Nutella on the side... Two waffles per serving. Service was fast and friendly. Communal table, limited seating. Cute spot. Would definitely come back... Not much out here like it. read more

Where do I start? I LOVE. THIS. PLACE! A cute place to grab Brunch with your friends and have a nice coffee or tea. I enjoy the Heavenly Cream Brew, with oat milk/lavender splash. All of their baked goods are fresh, and the staff is very friendly. Appreciate a local place to "catch up" with a friend or Brunch with your family. This is an early review but I've been impressed with what I've experienced so far. The space is comfortable and the ambience is very much to my liking. The waffle I ordered was delightful, the strawberries (often the weakest link of many a waffle order) were surprisingly enjoyable and paired well with what I thought was just the right amount of mascapone. The bakery selection belies the kind of thoughtfulness, originality, and attention to detail that compel my eyes to open wide and my mouth to water. read more

So much potential, but ultimately what a letdown! With a free Saturday afternoon, I decided to do a bit exploring and try a new coffee shop in Redondo Beach. Krust kept popping up on my searches, so I decided to give it a shot! The storefront is located on PCH with a large parking lot and ample spaces. The front of the store and frankly the store itself looks like it's been under construction... just feels a tad unfinished. When I asked when the store opened, the staff member said it's been open for over a year! I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and I ordered a cappuccino. I was also going to consider indulging in a pastry, but there were slim pickings... I arrived around 2:30PM and it seemed like all the good options were swiped up earlier in the day. In any case, I settled in with my fresh brewed cappuccino and took out my laptop. When I asked for the WIFI and password (assuming that in this day and age WIFI was a given), the staff member first said there was no WIFI... and then she corrected herself saying, "Well there is, but I don't know the password, sorry!" I looked at her in disbelief... and sat back down Now twiddling my thumbs, unable to do my work that I had planned on doing, I sipped my cappuccino... and soon realized that I had 10 minutes to finish my drink before the store closed at 3PM! Is it just me, or is that incredibly early?! The hours are as follows: Mon: Closed Tues-Sat: 7AM - 3PM Sun: 8AM - 1PM I chugged my drink, and went on my way. Overall, a very lackluster experience if there ever was one.... Pros: Location, parking, cute/ comfy hipster atmosphere (it has a lot of potential!), and pretty good coffee, I liked the cinnamon and cocoa available to add to my coffee Cons: Unfinished/ under construction, incredibly limited hours, sparse food options, unknowledgeable staff, and there may or may not be WIFI? that's still unclear to me! Oh and the credit card machine works on and off per the staff member. I lucked out because it worked for me. yeesh! I don't think I'll be revisiting this place any time soon :( read more

We have lived here for several years but first time to Krust. Service was excellent. Vanilla latte, espresso & custard donut were all excellent as well. Both of us were pleased with the experience and will return. Cute place; easy parking. Yum. read more

Love this cafe! As a first time customer walking into this shop, my eyes immediately salivated over their big selection of pastries (lined up along the counter)!! Everything I've ordered were delicious: avocado toast, warm breakfast croissant sandwich (ham, egg, & cheese), & the strawberry & cream croissant (with lightened pastry cream). Honestly, their strawberry & cream croissant is the best I've had in SoCal. Super light golden crispy croissant filled with fresh sweet strawberries & the right amount of lightly sweetened pastry cream filling. I wouldn't mind a bit more cream filling but that's my personal preference. I will definitely be back to try their other breads & pastries! ... returned an hour later & picked up their lemon glazed lightened pastry cream filled donuts, almond croissant, & another strawberry & cream croissant! My sister devoured the lemon donut & only shared a bite with me! Lol it's the best donut we have ever had. Dough is so light & not oily - perfectly fried golden plus the lightened pastry cream filling perfectly pairs with the sweet lemon glaze shell. read more

Updated my review because they will occasionally sell burnt pastries and bread which should never have made their way to the display case. I was disappointed to find the pasties I bought were burnt on the bottom after I came home. One time I noticed the lady who worked there gave me an overbaked baguette that was bordering on burnt. I asked her to give me another one which looked normal. She did, but not without making me feel like a nuisance for even asking. Maybe don't try to sell items that should've been thrown away in the first place? Please do a better job with quality control. read more

Small bakery with limited options but they all look tasty. I had a chocolate croissant and a creampuff. The lady took the creampuff to the kitchen to pump in the cream so it was very fresh! The chocolate croissant was also very good because it wasn't too oily or sweet. Service was ok. Both items equaled $6, kinda high given the items. Not too many tables inside for hanging out with friends, looks to be a "come and go" type place. Small parking lot, but ample street parking on PCH or Avenue E. Krust is tucked in the back of the small plaza. I probably won't go out of my way to try this place again, but if I were near by, I'll give them another try. read more

This place is incredible and what an adorable find along PCH for us after a morning of hiking. It really feels like they've developed a loyal community following and I felt like we truly discovered a hidden gem. The service was so attentive, and we got to sit in the tables out front with our pup. Moving on to the food - oh my goodness. The pastries are made with such precision and reminiscent of the smells and taste of a patisserie in France with an inventive twist. They also had menemen (like a Turkish shakshouka) that I fell in love with in Istanbul and haven't found much of since that was executed really well. The drinks were spectacular as well and unique flavors. The food tastes as amazing as it looks. Parking is easy in the plaza as well. read more

What a charming find in the South Bay Area. This place is a hidden gem tucked away in the corner of a plaza. They have a sizable selection of baked goods and some fantastic specialty items. I ordered the baguette with Brie and jam/honey thinking that it would be a breakfast sandwich and was slightly disappointed it was just a large baguette with small piece of Brie and side of jam. The avocado toast was very good and the waffles with berries were delicious. I got to try a bite of the banana bread which was bomb. So aside from my order everything else was fantastic. I would surely be back again to try more after my low carb New Years resolution inevitably fails. read more
Great little local coffee shop in the South Bay. It's a little hidden, but you'll be glad you found it. The interior is cozy and a good place to sit and enjoy your drink and food. My vanilla chai latte was just the right amount sweet and the avocado toast was a good portion for the price -- two slices of bread and a whole avocado! I think some acidity from some lemon juice was the only thing missing on the toast. Their pastry case looks very tempering, however the vegan options in this department are limited, if any. They do offer milk alternatives (almond, soy, and coconut) for their drinks. The avocado toast can be made vegan by omitting the parmesan. Overall, I'm glad I found this spot and will put it into my South Bay coffee shop rotation. read more

I recently ordered about 10 apple strudels for friends and a 9" pecan tart. All were so delicious. Seemed like they had seasonal pies going on as well. I have them about a week heads up.
