Came by and tried the coffee cake, chocolate mouse cake and the brownie. All pretty delicious.

First walking in, we saw a great looking pastry and donut selection and was initially a little bummed that they were out of the black sesame donut. The chocolate croissant had a nice flaky texture, but was really really skimpy on the chocolate. The ham and cheese soft roll was excellent as the roll has the taste and texture of a soft pretzel and tasted great slightly warmed up. The bacon & chive scone was the real winner since first of all, who doesn't like the taste of bacon and secondly, it wasn't dry like most scones. It was more moist like a muffin. The only disappointment was the custard filled donut as the donut part itself was just meh, and then the killer was the custard which tasted like a watered version of custard and more like whip cream which I assume is what they they mixed in as a cheap filler for the custard. Will definitely go back for the scone but am hesitant to try out the black sesame donut after the experience with the other donut. read more

This was my first time to Krust, and I will be back! The avocado toast was perhaps the best I've ever had (and that's a lot) with a subtle orange zest and balsamic drizzle that took it over the top. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere pleasant. read more

OMG is this place AMAZING! Love everything Krust makes. Love the fresh bread and my boys especially love the fresh granola bars made daily. Just ok. Went there for a light lunch and coffee today. Small little shop with a pretty plain atmosphere. Very small selection of very pedestrian pastries, 4 "Menu Items", and some basic coffee drinks. I had the uninspiring Avocado Toast ($9), a Cappuccino ($3.75), my GF had the Poached Egg with tomatoes and bread ($8). This place is not all that. read more

I came here at 3pm without realizing that that is when they close. I got my latte and after giving it to me, the very friendly young woman mentioned that actually they are already technically closed. When she heard me go "Oh? Too bad, I was planning to work on my laptop" she felt so bad about not realizing to let me know that before I ordered (even though I said that I should have realized to ask) that she offered me to have pastries for free (they were going to have to throw them out anyway since they bake fresh ones daily )! Daily in-house fresh baked pastries. Excellent espresso. Local run business. Not a chain. The fact that they do their own baked goods rather than just get something delivered from another bakery, I think, sets them appart. The quiche and croissant that I tried were both very good. Was looking for a place nearby my house that served avocado toast and found this place. It's super cute and quaint. Nothing special looking but awesome wallpaper and comfortable seating. Looking into the glass case I spied the quiche, and noticed it looked like everything was baked in-house. So instead of ordering the avocado toast I got the quiche. It was THE BEST I've ever had by a mile. So so good! I also got a matcha latte that wasn't great, the matcha wasn't dissolved. The people sitting next to be ordered a baguette with brie to share, also looked delicious, I will be bringing my fiancé another time for a date for sure! read more

I was so happy that a new bakery opened in this location. This is my second time there. The first was for coffee and breakfast pastries. The blueberry muffin, coffee cake and scone were all delicious. My daughter was in love with the blueberry muffin. Filled with fresh berries. My second visit was to buy treats for my coworkers and of course a lil treat for myself. I indulged in the lemon tart. I love lemon desserts and this one did not disappoint. Simply delicious. Krust is a wonderful bakery coffee shop in Redondo. Everything is homemade onsite daily. Everything is fabulous. I had the quiche, lemon tart and iced latte which made for a very happy mid week brunch. I also bought some treats to bring home. The apple pie is just like grandma makes. The pastry chef / owner has quite a track record from DC to California. Without a doubt she is passionate about everything she serves at Krust. Just tried this place on Saturday. I had an almond croissant & it was so flaky & fresh...really excellent. My husband had a breakfast croissant of some sort... I think egg & bacon... and he loved it. The ladies were so nice & brought out a fresh bowl of water for my pup. We live just across the street, so we will be back soon!!! read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this little bakery! I am so glad I have found this place. The lady who runs it is lovely, super friendly and very modest of her exceptional baking talent. I have been a number of times now and tried new things each time and I can honestly say the things I have bought have been some of the best treats I have ever tasted. Try the chocolate mousse cake which is so good, a combination of moist chocolate cake and chocolate mousse - layers of absolute delight! It must be the cocoa she uses, because the chocolate brownie has the same dark, bittersweet delicious taste. The baguettes are outstanding, the croissants and french pastries are top notch. The donuts are incredible, filled with custard, raspberry or dusted with cinnamon sugar they melt in your mouth. If you're looking for a quick after school treat for the kids, run in and get a bundle of the cookies which have four different flavors and are baked to absolute perfection. The last time I went in I also treated myself to an Iced Vanilla Latte and it was made perfectly (coming from an Ex-Starbucks Barista!) So all in all, I give it 5 stars, 10/10 and all round EXCELLENT rating, because I love this place and I hope it stays and does well. read more

Don't let the unassuming strip mall deter you -- this place is a serious find. I'm a sucker for delicious pastries and these are incredible! Between my hubby and I we tried out 4 different types and all were terrific (including the lightest flakiest chocolate croissant). Hubby had a latte and said it was excellent. The place is clean & nicely decorated. The aroma of freshly baking strawberry rhubarb pies filled the bakery which only added to the ambience. One older woman was introducing her friend to the place and said, "it's so wonderful, you'll find yourself here once a week." Young guy sitting with girlfriend says under his breath, "every day." We laughed because, yeah, if we lived in this town we'd be here way more than once a week. The folks behind the counter were the baker herself and maybe her sister -- they are not as slick as more corporate coffee places -- thank goodness. read more

they are going to have a hard time staying in business if they don't make some changes. the purchases--peach pie, chocolate mousse cake, baguette. came to 13.85, no receipt offered or given. the experience was less than thrilling for all involved, especially the guy working the counter. when i walk into a bakery this small, i expect to hear, "welcome to krust." instead i got the back of the quiet, asian male worker, who looked like he couldn't care less about us, the product, staying awake, etc. at some point, another person walked in, could have been the baker, could have been his sister/cousin/wife, went to the back without a word to anyone. it's a bakery, people--it's not an insurance office. no prices on anything. when i asked how much the peach pie was, the guy had to punch it into the register. it was 6.50 (it was round and large), which made me wonder how a chocolate mousse and baguette added up to 7.35 more (not a lot of logical combos add up to that, but whatever). PUT PRICES ON STUFF. they have placards telling you what the item is--there was plenty of space left on said placards for the prices. the items were good enough. nothing about them was different from any other place. if anything, they were just like any other place. the peach pie looked nice, and the peaches were good, but it was really a peach cake. my wife and kid said the chocolate mousse cake was good, but could have been a little bigger (that's nit-picking). the baguette was small, did not have air pockets, was not crusty enough for my liking, but the flavor was good and it was chewy. if that's their baguette's style, then it was just fine. in its defense, krust's items looked good. we got 2 and a baguette, so maybe i'm rushing to judgment. BUT, experience is everything in a land of options. i can get a baguette at 10 places within 10 minutes of me. there are bakery items everywhere around me. what is krust doing to make things different and better? not much. read more

Still grieving the closure of a nearby French Bakery with diabolically delicious goodies, we went to explore the unknown at Krust. The name Krust may well be a declaration about the critical importance of getting the crust correct in the making of great pastries. There is a delightful array of tempting treats that are every bit as good as they look. We brought home a savory spinach quiche that had everyone wanting more, an amazing cream puff that was crunchy on the outside and oozing custardy goodness with each bite. We also loved the rich tasting pecan bar with the perfect crust that would make any pecan pie lover eager to get in line to purchase these. There is fresh coffee in all it's satisfying forms to accompany the additional pies, scones, croissants, fresh filled donuts, tiramisu, and changing daily surprises.
